Share a hilarious and joyous holiday with the Recess kids, as they convince the Third Street Elementary School teachers that miracles really do come true at this special time of year. When Principal Prickly's car gets stuck in the snow, he unfairly blames the Recess gang. But as he and his marooned passengers, Miss Finster and Miss Grotke, start to relive their students' outrageous escapades, a new truth emerges: these kids are both naughty and nice. And after a surprise rescue frees the stranded trio, they're treated to a special Recess rendition of "Jingle Bells" to get them in the holiday mood.
This delightful movie features the impressive voice talents of Dick Clark, Robert Goulet and James Earl Jones in a holiday adventure that reveals the Santa inside everyone.
1 "Recess" is radical!
"Recess-School's Out" was really pretty awesome, & although I never saw the Christmas version, I'll bet that it was also very charming, in a sense.-Earl
2 Great Movie
I loved this movie it was very funny and entertaining.
3 Want to ruin Christmas for your 5 year old ???
Then make your children watch this movie . The last segment of this movie will forever alter your child's perception of Santa's existence . If you want to treasure the last few years of your child's innocence ,then protect them from watching Recess Christmas. I found the movie entertaining , but the way they presented the doubt about Santa really caused problems for my 5 year old.... We watched the movie last night and today my 5 year old is still asking questions. Should have carried a warning for parents.
4 Excellent Christmas story with James Earl Jones as Santa
This is a fun Christmas tape for fans of Recess. I think the last story featuring James Earl Jones as Santa was quite touching and funny. At least one other reviewer, who said there was "no Christmas content" on the tape, must not have actually watched it. I guess technically some of the material comes from the episodes they have produced but unless your child has taped every episode this is unlikely to be redundant in your collection.
5 What a disappointment
I wish I had read everyone elses' reviews before buying this. I saw the dvd out and was so excited about getting it for Christmas. As soon as it started I knew it was going to be "flashbacks" of episodes that were already on TV. And none of them had anything to do with Christmas. The only bonus on the DVD was the reports done by Gus, Spenelli and Mickey (I love Mickey). They were very funny but not worth the money.
6 Shame on you Disney
Disney, shame on you . There is absolutely nothing new about this rip-off. It is comprised of old TV reruns in a new Christmas box. The stories are regular episodes with absolutely NO Christmas content. This is plain and simple deception by a company who is mach better than this.
7 Don't be fooled
The Recess christmas "movie" is an enjoyable holiday treat, although...don't be fooled as I was when I got the video expecting to see an all-new christmas adventure with these great kids...most of the stories in this "movie" are old television episodes of the "recess" series already being shown on televison, bookended with the two teachers and the principal stuck in the snow at christmas time and told through flashbacks. Again, an enjoyable video but not entirely a "christmas" movie and hardly any of it is new.
8 Awesome!!
I am a Huge fan of Recess!! It's the best the TV show ever (except The Fairly Oddparents) it's still great. My favorite character is Spinelli.
9 A Great Movie!
I am a huge fan of Recess! I love how T.J., Spinelli, Mikey, Gus, Vince, and Gretchen always have fun at such a dreadful place to be......SCHOOL! Even when they get upset with each other, they still come back together and are friends again!

Quote of the Day:

The other day I... uh, no, that wasn't me.

-- Steven Wright

The basic idea behind malls is that they are more convenient than cities.
Cities contain streets, which are dangerous and crowded and difficult to
park in. Malls, on the other hand, have parking lots, which are also
dangerous and crowded and difficult to park in, but -- here is the big
difference -- in mall parking lots, THERE ARE NO RULES. You're allowed to
do anything. You can drive as fast as you want in any direction you want.
I was once driving in a mall parking lot when my car was struck by a pickup
truck being driven backward by a squat man with a tattoo that said "Charlie"
on his forearm, who got out and explained to me, in great detail, why the
accident was my fault, his reasoning being that he was violent and muscular,
whereas I was neither. This kind of reasoning is legally valid in mall
parking lots.
