1 Impressive Piece of Hardware
I love the design and functionality of this mount. I mounted a 37" Sharp LCD TV that weighs 37 pounds (minus speaker) and the mount easily handles the weight even when extended two feet. I'll admit that the 2 x 4 studs creak when I fully extend it so I prefer to leave it closer to the wall. As a result, I'm not sure I'd recommend this mount with a heavier plasma TV on standard frame construction. The mount will handle the weight but the 2 x 4 studs may shear. (100 pounds at 2 feet can create quite a moment arm.) Have at least two healthy people on hand to lift the TV with mount into place. One item of note is that the washers and spacers that I needed to mount this TV didn't quite work with the machine screws that were supplied. I had to enlarge the holes on the washers and spacers with a drill. It was quick work once I made that decision but I spent time exploring all other options prior to taking that path. (That is the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars.) In sum, it is an impressive design that truly improves the functionality of my TV.
