Grab your board and take on the slopes of SSX as you've never seen them before. Two brand-new runs, six never-before-seen riders, and tons of original tricks, shortcuts, and jumps make SSX Tricky the ultimate snowboarding experience. With voices supplied by celebrities such as Oliver Platt and Macy Gray, the SSX Tricky riders come to life on the snow-covered icy mountain courses.

Establish friendships, create rivalries, and show off your high-flying skills in three different types of races. And when you're ready to catch real air, reach into your bag and bust out one of the crazy new über-tricks that take airborne flight to the next level, with flips, twirls, and more. New Garibaldi and Alaska courses let you get more vertical and catch more air, while all the original courses have some new surprises. Six new riders join most of the original SSX crew to provide a wide range of abilities and competition.

1 SSX Tricky is awesome
This game (SSX Tricky) is the best Xbox game. If I had to pick my favorite game, this would definitely be it. Although I have not yet tried SSX 3 and have never previously tried SSX, I am looking forward to trying them both. I know that SSX 3 would have alot to match up to.

SSX Tricky has a variety of characters. Each character is very interesting and unique. Characters also have their own board and outfits to choose from. (Characters include Phsymon, Elise, Brodi, Seeiah, Mac, Kiori, and maybe some others..) After experiencing a variety of different modes and gaining medals, your character will gain Experience Points. These experience points can go into 4 categorys, speed, edging, tricks, and stability.

This game consists of three modes, Practice, Single Event, and World Circut. In practice mode you can free ride and work on your trick book. Your trick book teaches you how to do many tricks. In reward for learning tricks, you can unlock new outfits and boards. In single event, you can choose from race, showoff, or time challenge. In racing, you simply race against five other characters (that are computer driven). Showoff is my personal favorite mode. Pipes are added to the course. The main purpose of this mode is to get the most points. In Time Challenge, you race against the clock and try for the best time. The third and final mode, World Circut, lets you choose between Race and Showoff. These are basically the same as in the Single Event mode except this is where your rider gains medals. And from medals, your rider also gains a certain number of experience points.

This is the best game, and you should definitely buy it. I hope that my rewiew helped you decide wether or not to buy it (AND YOU SHOULD BUY IT) ! I gave this game five stars because it deserves every last one of them. SSX Tricky has great graphics, modes, characters, and is all around a great and awesome game!
2 Perfect, can't be beat!!!!!!!!!
When I went on the disney channel cruise ship and played this game in the game center I stunk but loved it. I loved it so much that I bought it when I got an Xbox. The graphics are some of the best for a snowboarding game I have ever seen. You cannot beat this game in graphics or TIGHTNESS!!!!!!!
3 SSX Tricky
Out of all the XBOX games I have, this one is the best. This snowboarding game is a must-buy. World-Circuit mode is so fun and cool! Try collecting all the gold medals in all the levels of the game. It's hard! At least rent the game or better yet, buy it! Here's a list of my opinions of SSX Tricky.

4 Best Snowboarding Game For XBOX
This game is awesome. I've played Amped and everything and I think Amped is allright but I guess I'm not going for a realistic game. It is great though. The people that say controls are bad shouldnt even own an XBOX. I have small hands and I use the big controller and pull off every trick in the game. I've even pulled off tricks so big it came up as ???. So if you don't like the controlls you don't know how to play the game. The characters are awesome because of all of there different personalities. The graphics are great, the courses are awesome, the characters are sweet. This game is just great. I recomend this game to anyone out there.
5 Very fun, especially for the price now
Ok, so the hardcore snowboard simulation fans probably aren't going to like this game. Yes, some of the tricks are over the top, you couldn't actually do them, but that's the point, it's a game. If you wipe out in Tricky you don't go to the hospital. If you are ok with having fun and can do it without complete realism, give this game a shot. I mean come on, is Halo really realistic? And yes, some reviews comment about the frame rate having problems. In my experience it only comes up very rarely and isn't that bad. Only seems to be a minor problem when racing against a high number of other computer racers and having them all on screen at once, just get ahead of them, and no frame rate problems at all. Plus a lot of the fun in this game isn't racing, it's about tricks, and when showing off/tricking you are usually the only one on the course. Just deal with it when you pass the pack on occasion in a race. This game is worth it, lots of replayability, and for less than $ you really can't go wrong.
6 best freakin game ever
awesome. Way different from any other snowboarding games like amped or dark summit. Uber tricks make the game more fun than ssx. The only let down is that the game is more of a directors cut than a sequal.
7 Awesome Game
This is the frickin best game ever in the world for snowboarding, i am serious, i played it for XBOX the other day, IT ROCKS! you can do insane "uber" tricks where your player gets off the board and does their own trik....EVERYTHING, I MEAN EVERYTHING that you NEVER thought possible on a snowboard is being done. i have now kloo why this game is ONLY 20.00$!!! I'm begging my mom to get it, she is blown away by the price and says that it must not be good for 20.00$! But, this game is totally off da hook!!
8 Another exceptional game by EA BIG
this game was an all-around favorite of mine with the Xbox, they did a great continuation of the SSX game from 2 years ago with exceptional graphics, stunning design, and whup--- moves. Famous stars that we know of even do the voices of the characters, David Arquette does Eddie, Macy Gray does Seeiah, Lucy Liu does Elise, and some famous Sports Illustrated swimsuit model does the voice of Marisol. The levels are long, treacherous, and killer. The racing is brutal (punching people over, purposely landing on top of them, knocking them off cliffs {my personal favorite}) with so much action packed into this game, and so many unlockables, i would call this the Halo of sports games.
9 This is a very boring game...
If you like a fun game that will give you something to do everytime you play, I wouldn't reccomend this one. It is very easy to beat this game. Once you beat the game you will find that there is not much fun in anything with the game. It is up to you...
10 Surprise!!!
I bought this game for my kids for christmas to supplement all the supposedly new and cool xbox games out this season. Even though the game was released over a year ago they play this game all the time and now my house has become the neighborhood hangout! I would recommend the game for someone who is looking for a game that everyone can agree on playing. The courses are quite exagerrated (Arcade Style) so if you are looking for a game that is more of a simulator you may want to try Transworld Snowboarding.
11 BOO
It stinks nice tracks but the tricks you want to do are super hard you have to hit 10 buttons while your in the air.
12 How Cant You Like This Game!!!
This is such a great Game!!! Mac and JP rock, and anyone who deosn't like it didn't get the full effect. It is challeging, and SSX. To sum it up, this game rocks, SSX [doesn't], and XBOX is the best consule.
13 It Stinks!
I don't like the game. SSX is so much better.
14 A Decent, Yet Fundamentally Flawed, Game
SSX Tricky is a decent game on the whole. However, it problems cannot be easily dismissed. Faults, sometimes minor and sometimes major, can be found with almost every aspect of the game. Thus, what could have been an extremely great game has been degraded to a mediocre one.

Problems:

Control Scheme:
It is obvious that absolutely no thought was put into designing the game's controls. While it may be relatively easy to put off the simplest grabs with a simple button press, you often have to press two buttons plus a shoulder trigger to execute a grab. This is just no practical on the unwieldy original XBOX controller (I have not tried it with the newer and smaller controller). Instead of this nonsensical arrangement, a trick control method more similar to the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater idea should have been used. This would enable plenty of grabs to be performed relatively easily. In addition to this, the tweaking feature for tricks could have been improved. Had the THPS trick scheme been used, pressing a shoulder trigger would have been ideal for tweaking. Unfortunately, tweaking requires pressing another of the six right hand thumb buttons. As you can guess, this is very complicated since most gamers have only one right thumb. Finally, when you build up your special trick meter, you have no choice over which special trick will be executed, since there is only one combination of buttons for the specials. This is simply inferior, as some tricks take longer to complete than others and would only be appropriate at some times. It is even doubtful that some specials can be completed, no matter how much air time you have. This is perhaps the most maddening aspect of the control scheme. I could go on about how ridiculously difficult it is to pull off some combos, though this would be somewhat redundant. There is one nice aspect about the controls, though. If you want to spin or flip, all you have to do is press a direction on the directional pad before you launch off the jump. This frees the gamer from having to hold a "spin" or "flip" button while in the air, thus allowing more buttons to be utilized in the (faulty) control scheme.

Level Design:
When a game says "Tricky" on the, I expect there to be a ton of spots to trick off in the levels. It seems that the emphasis was put on designing racing courses instead of parks and pipes, which is really quit unfortunate. The levels are relatively linear and while they do have some good launches, you actually have to work to find a place to bust a move. This is the case even in the trick mode, where ramps and rails are all over the place. Believe it or not, there is only one true halfpipe in the whole game. Other areas can be made to suffice as a halfpipe or quarterpipe, but these are few and far between. Some levels are just plain annoying, like the Aloha Ice Jam tunnels section or the bleak and boring terrain of Untracked. Others, like Alaska, are almost impossible to get down without crashing a lot, as there is so much garbage and curves in the path.

Music:
The music in this game can only be described as lame, especially since an "all-star" team made it. The songs all sound the same, and lyrics are never heard during the game. It is possible to listen to the songs individually while not playing, but who wants to do that? Also, the repetition of the RUN DMC track "Tricky" every time you fill up your special meter gets old quickly.

Other:
Each character has very few recorded interactions with the other characters. It seems that before every race you have to watch the character respond to a taunt in exactly the same way they do every time. Also, some characters are primarily equipped with racing boards and only have one (or maybe even zero) freestyle boards. This can make doing tricks quite difficult, since riding and landing fakie are out of the question. Finally, the tricks get very outlandish at times, not only with the specials but with regular tricks too. Therefore, if you are looking for a realistic snowboarding game, I suggest you look elsewhere....

15 Lots of ... thrills!
The game is fun, fast, and furious. Less-than-spectacular graphics aside, the game provides hours of arcade-style snow boarding action. There are plenty of levels and characters to keep you busy. I found the "trick" levels more fun than the "racing" levels, but they both had their certain highpoints. The game is appropriate for younger kids, but is great fun for adults. The game has plenty of replay, and is a good investment.
16 Get ready to SHRED!
Flipping boards, unrealistic tricks (what I mean by unrealistic tricks, you can flip boards and swing them around your neck). If you unlock the character named Zoe, you can do a trick called "Near Miss", I think she takes it out from under her and flips the board and does a backflip, grabs onto the back of it and flips around again, and gets back on it. In other words, this game is AWESOME!!!

....

17 A Fun and Colorful Game that Luckily Landed on Xbox
A Fun and Colorful Game that Luckily Landed on Xbox
The title says it all. Because this is a special game. It is highly recomended. There are few (if any now that I think about it) flaws in this game. It is highly recomended.
18 Don't be tricked get amped
I've found that Amped is a better game than SSXtricky. SSXtricky is hard to learn the controlls for. It seems very unrealistic. You can do four of five rodeos, where in amped you might be able to do two front flips. Also, you can hit a rail at 70mph which can't be done. I beleive that Amped has beter contolls, it's easy to learn but hard to master, while SSXtricky is hard to learn and play. Picked Amped it much more fun to play and with may levels to challange you. If you don't know how to snowboard pick SSXtricky. If you know to snowboard or are a wanna be pick Amped.
19 addicting, addicting, and did I say addicting
Great game.....very addicting. Graphics are great. Every boarder has their own personality. A must game for great mindless play!
20 So-So...
I had the original SSX on PS2 and although Ive only just played it for a few hours I am noticing that there is not much difference between the two versions. The special moves or uber-tricks are definately cool. If you have the original ssx id advise you to rent tricky before you buy, otherwise go for it, its an awesome game with stunning visuals. Havent gotten around to checking out amped but i will soon.....
21 rock the boards
I thought this game was a childish excuse for snowboarding at first, but then I played it.it is a cool game with tight tricks and graphics.go get this baby.you won't be dissapointed.it has marisol, seeiah, psymon,JP,and a bunch of other coll chars.pick it up!thacrunka's out
22 Fun and addictive
SSX Tricky is my favorite X-Box game so far. It is challenging, yet very rewarding once you master the art of timing jumps and doing tricks. The courses are a lot of fun, and the different modes of play keep the game interesting once you have beaten it. The celebrity voices are also entertaining.

SSX Tricky also has excellent DVD content that details the game-making process and includes interviews with the celebrities.

23 A Game That Defines Our Generation
SSX is a fantastic game that clearly shows how far games have progressed throughout the years. SSX is an example of why we should be playing games in the first place - FUN. The world you are set in is colorful and vivid, strewn with fireworks displays and sharp turns. The real beauty of the game lies in the animation and smooth transitions that the characters make while performing their over-the-top tricks and spins. If people could perform these "UBER" tricks, SSX gives a good representation of what they would look like. The audio also plays a big part in the game's overall feel and flavor. Each boarder has an individual persona that is voiced by a celebrity, lending much more, well, character to each character. The music is mostly comprised of techno beats that change their tempo and volume, depending on your character's actions. SSX is a great game for pure entertainment and is a fantastic game for your X-Box.
24 Phat fun for the whole apartment
I've played SSX on the PS2 and fell in love with it there...but once i got it on my xbox there was no turning back... The game delivers amazingly consistant gameplay and with a well balanced increase in difficulty the better you get.

the gameplay itself is the massive seller of the game, as well of course the quite original characters (not so much compared to the original tricky, but overall).

I really don't want to waste you reading time with this review, but if you get the game you will find urself attempting to perfect the amount of trickies you can do per jump, as well as compete to get the highest score possible for any given run. The replay value is incredible for the game....

the only downfall to the game is really due to my own expectations. The game uses raytrace for the characters, enabling them to have shadows. Although this present a problems when the characters are standing at the gate and u don't see them holding onto anything on their shadows when the actually are. but thats just something you notice and is easily disregarded

25 Different
Not as good as Amped, but still fun. Rent it and experience a different world of snowboarding. Click in and then out of your bindings to do cool specials with massive amounts of air. Better than regular SSX.
26 Get Tricky
As with so many sports games, the market provides a choice between simulation and stimulation. If you want the former, pick AMPED. But if you're looking for pure adrenaline, go with SSX TRICKY. You'll quickly become addicted to the way it serves up fantasy.

Most obviously, it's pixel magic. Graphics, with the possible exception of a few brief milliseconds, are stunning. There is, as another reviewer has pointed out, a slight frame-rate drop if a number of characters get bunched up in the same frame. And there are some dimensionality problems with some of the crowds. But both of these are incredibly brief phenomena, which are only rarely encountered. The far more usual reaction you'll have is simply being wowed. I'm particularly impressed with the way that the designers handle the late afternoon sun on the Mesablanca circuit. You actually have to squint to see, just as if you were experiencing the setting Southwestern sun.

More impressive, though, is the game play itself. You'll spend days just trying to find all the nooks and crannies of each track-much less how to make them work point magic for you. The two basic modes of play-whether for show or for speed-provide plenty of challenge until you're ready to take on other players in competitive runs. In fact, the race mode against computer opponents is particularly challenging at the higher levels. Because doing tricks can add speed to your run, you can't just hope to find shortcuts and nose out your competitors. Throw in the fact that computer-controlled characters can change their attitude toward you depending on how you treat them on the course, and the racing element of this game becomes a strategic battle that is often won or lost on a single decision.

Still, TRICKY is not perfect. If you play it at length you'll probably become annoyed most of all at three main features. First, it's musically dead, compared with AMPED. While TRICKY's ambient sound is great, you'll become bored with the main soundtrack-and the inability to use imported mp3's. Second, you'll grow to hate the main interface. It takes forever to set up for a race, and longer to just save your data. There are no fewer than six screens you have to flip through just to save. It's kind of ridiculous that the thing should ask you multiple times if you're sure you want to save. Finally, though, the biggest problem with the game is that it has no facility to save user records. With most sports games for Xbox, extensive stats are saved for each different user profile, meaning that you can brag to your friends as you get better at the game. With TRICKY, though, the best you have are a top 5 for each race and a character profile that's stuck away in a pretty obscure location. So another user could take control of your character and throw your stats with ease-or, worse, deprive you of the joy of improving her. It's a surprisingly big mistake from a company that prides itself on having the premier sports games on the market.

None of this, however, should seriously deter you from buying this highly addicting game. Even if you've never snowboarded a day in your life, you'll find it hard to resist the madness of SSX TRICKY.

27 A So-SO game
I must admit this is a pretty cool game when you first play it. It has good graphics and it is kinda cool to play your friends in it. But after awhile it is really boring. It doesn't really have a story mode so you can't"beat the game". Once you get all the characters(EASY) and all the courses(easy) this game is no fun. This game is a good game to rent but not to buy. Adios!
28 Fun, but frustrating.
This is an enjoyable game, although after a while you get sick of it. It is a definite improvement over the first game, with more characters, a better trick system, better courses, and a much faster feel to the game as a whole. However, they didn't quite iron out all the kinks of the physics system, and sometimes you'll get frustrated as your character will tumble all over the place for no reason. The graphics are good, and the sound is decent, although the music quickly becomes repetitive. The structure of the game gives it fairly good replay value, and you'll be playing it for good while.
29 ssx
I own an xbox and this is one of the best games. I like it a lot and it is easy to learn. the only problem is some tricks, u have to hit alot of buttons. i'd buy this game any day and if your new with your xbox get this game.
30 Best Game there is
SSX Tricky is one of my favorite games. The graphics are the best and the gameplay is too. There is nothing bad about this game. SSX Trick is a must have for Xbox. I love and I know you will too.THIS GAME RULES!
31 Unrealistic but AWESOME!
This game is incredable. It has pretty good graphics but the most exciting thing is the tricks. Some people think that since it is so unrealistic that its fun factor goes down but I think just the opposite. Being able to fly hundreds of feet in the air and do three or four flips with impossible grabs makes the game all the better. The levels are great and the showoff competition is incredably fun. The racing is unique and fun. You can make enemys or friends depending on how you race. Overall, this games is awesome!
32 I'm addicted
This game is super fun! I thought I wouldn't like it because it was so "not realistic", but throw realism to the wind and enjoy this title because you'll love the 300 foot jumps, monster rails, and crazy characters. Even my wife loves playing this game.
33 all good but the framerate
I would give this game 5 stars for how much fun and deep it is... the only drawback is that when you race other racers and are in a pack close together there is SIGNIFICANT frame rate drop, it can get very chunky. That should have been dealt with. I'd much rather have less textures/bump-mapping/shadows/reflections than have a chunky framerate during gameplay. Still, I highly reccomend it.
34 SSX Tricky is Addictive!
Wow! I've never been so excited about a game before. SSX Tricky from EA Sports is just stunning. I've never played any other versions, but this one kicks serious booty. The riders have great personality, the runs are awesome and can be different each time, the music soundtrack pumps you up and the graphics are AMAZING. I have played this game every day since my husband bought it a few weeks ago and I am not even close to being bored with it. The Xbox gaming system is revolutionary and SSX Tricky is a perfect compliment to its capabilities. The game is fast paced and hectic at times, yet the video is flawless. I challenge anyone to buy this game and not LOVE it.
35 Even Better than SSX
SSX Tricky is more of an upgrade than a sequal to SSX, but it is still an exceptional game. Two brand new cources, Garibaldi and Alaska are added and both are really fun courses. The old levels are all changed, and some like Snowdream and Pipedream are really different. (Even better, in my opinion) There are 5 new characters, along with all of the old ones from SSX except for 2. There are lots of different grabs you can do, and then you can tweak them all out. The addition of UBER tricks makes the game even more interesting and fun. Each rider has his or her signature move, along with a few other UBER tricks that a couple other riders might be able to do. The only con is the fact that there are only 3 grab buttons on the Xbox version, as opposed to the 4 on the PS2 version, so you can't do as many tricks. But don't let that stop you, this is a really great game that is 1000 times better than Amped or Dark Summit combined. Buy SSX Tricky and see for yourself.
36 High flyin Fun
Yes, this game is over the edge and not just a run of the mill snowboarding game. As a matter of fact, I HATE snowboarding but this is one of my favorite games, it was for the original on my PS2 and now is for my XBOX. Fast action, High flying and lots of fun!
37 Awesome game, But I prefer AMPED !!!!
Don't get me wrong this game is incredible, very easy to preform tricks, But I prefer the difficulty of Amped more!! Amped you have to basically learned how to preform perfeclty and there would be no button mashing. In Tricky you can get away with bad landings and impossible tricks. I can play both for hours but becareful trying to switch between the two.. ... I think that the Graphics are a little weak compared to AMPED but are still awesome!!
38 You won't put it down!
This game is lots of fun with sweet graphics and smooth controls! There are plenty of characters and extra features to unlock. All the voice-overs are very amusing as the boarders do a lot of trash talking! This game is hard to put down!
39 Canadian and spanish chick are JOKERS!
This game is purley and simply fun!
Graphics-9/10-it looks real good!
Control-7.5/10-minore grinding problems
Presentation-10/10-PERFECT i mean no game is presented better!
Gameplay-8/10-some courses are a pain in the ass!
Fun Factor-9/10-u'll be playin 4 days!!!!!!!!!!
40 More fun than you should be allowed to have!
This isn't a simulation, this is all arcade. Run through the simple stuff early so you can play everyone and get the general idea of the controls, then have a blast. I LOVE this game. More addictive than crack! Until I bought NFL Fever, THIS was the game I played better than half the time I had the Box on. Now, I am torn between the two games.
41 A massive amount of fun!
I now have 8 Xbox games. Amped is fun and very realistic. Project Gotham Racing is very fun and very realistic. The kids, 5 and 7, love Mad Dash Racing. However, by far, the game that gets the most time in our Xbox, from me and the kids, is SSX Tricky. This game is a massive amount of fun. The long trails with high jumps, tight turns and ice banked sides would be extremely difficult in the real world. In the xbox world, the basic moves in the easy levels are very simple and fun. There is also a large number of tricks that can be done in all levels to satisfy the most advanced player. This is the best game for the Xbox!
42 More than I expected...
I really liked the description of the game so I bought it.

Frist, lets start with the bad things:
1. When you play two player mode, the screen divides vertically. Making it hard to see where you are going.
(Wow! Only one bad thing!)

Now, Lets start with the good things:
1. The characters kick butt!
2. The tracks are wild, crazy, and challenging and has many different regions. And looks really realistic.
3. The amazing, impossible, tricks add excitement to the game.
4. You have to complete races and trick levels to "unlock" more powerful boards and gain access to different outfits. (That makes it fun!)
5. The ability to "hit" other opponents. *grin*
6. Uber Tricks

The list can go on amd on... If you want a fun, arcade type of racing game, This is definatly the game for you. I love it and I can't stop playing it!

43 INCREDIBLE, very original
Original and innovative, this game really breaks the mold. It had me hooked playing it for hours on end. However, it does take about 15-30 minutes to get acquainted with the playing style and how to pull off the big tricks if you have never played such a game before. But that's it, you never have to relearn anything, and it's pure fun after that. This game had me more hooked than Max Payne and almost as much as Commandos 2:Men of Courage. The insane tricks are exciting to watch, and easy to pull off-requiring button combos, but not such hard ones as to make you sick of trying to nail the same one again and again. Most tricks only took me 3 tries at most. Another fun addition is the details of the world circuit mode. In world circuit, you make friends and enemys, depending on how much you knock them down in the level. This is a lot of fun because one, knocking someone down lets you immediately do one of your six big tricks or "uber tricks", and two, players will confront you after the race and talk trash. The player interaction like the trash talking before and after races adds even more fun and humor to the game. I seriously recommend buying this game, and at least renting it
44 korny
I thought this game was way to corny. Its so unrealistic we have people doing skateboard tricks on a snowboard!! whats up with that. If you want a good snowbaord game go for amped. its a great game! totally real.
45 dont know yet
i just bought this game and the back of the box says two players I have never bought a game that does not atleast offer the option to play by your self is ssx tricky just for two people if it is I will leave it sealed and sale it online because i have no one to play videogames with and the game would be whorthless.
46 Great game - lots of fun
This game is great! It's a ton of fun even for less advanced gamers. Their are a lot of great tricks. Some of the tricks require a lot of key combinations but there are simpler ones that are easy to master and make the game fun right from the start so you have fun while learning the more complicated tricks.
47 Loads of Fun - Don't expect a simulation
SSX Tricky is a great "arcade" snowboarding game. This is a very different game then Amped, and it deserves to be rated based on what it is trying to accomplish.

Namely, this game is about over-the-top gameplay. The gameplay (racing + tricks), courses, and characters are all way out there, and that is what makes the game fun and unique.

EA did an excellent job of creating balanced gameplay. When racing, speed down the mountain is obviously the most important, but you need to learn the course (i.e. shortcuts) and perform tricks (speed boost) to take the gold. In other racing games, performing tricks often slow you down and there is no benefit other than showing off to your friends.

The courses are visually stunning, albeit unrealistic. But who cares. It's a blast to race downhill through a metropolitan city or fly over insane moguls in Alaska. When you play a course in "Showoff" mode, there are many more ramps and rails on which to perform tricks.

The characters each have there own unique personalities and styles, and the professional voice acting gives the game that extra polish.

The behind the scenes extras on the DVD were also interesting and added a nice touch. (I doubt you'll watch it more than once though.)

Amped is a great simulation. SSX Tricky is great arcade racer. If you have enjoyed WaveRace on the N64 or GameCube, then you can't go wrong with SSX Tricky.

48 Amped is way better than SSX Tricky
If you're thinking about buying this game, I would recommend against it. I rented it at Blockbuster, and grew tired of it within a few hours - it's very arcade like. I also rented Amped, and it is much more challenging and has tons more replay value. The other great thing about Amped is the ability to rip your own tunes to the hard drive of the Xbox and listen to them while you're playing the game. You can't do this with SSX Tricky. I'll be purchasing Amped for sure.

50 Just plain awesome!
SSX Tricky has got to be the MOST FUN snowboarding game ever. I bought AMPED and it was okay, but a bit slow for my tastes. I am not a snowboarder so I didn't really care for how "realistic" AMPED claimed to be.

SSX Tricky on the other hand is taking up all of my time. It is fun fun fun. Why? Because it is a game that doesn't pretend to be anything else. You race against other snowboarders, knock them down, make friends, pull off insanely impossible tricks that are just the coolest things to see. I have spent about 6 hours playing this so far and haven't even finished one character all the way through! I'll be playing this game for a LONG LONG time.!

51 SSX redefines Snowboarding Videogames
This is by far the best Snowboarding game available in the market. This game is not a simulation, but is a little more realistic than Amped. It is certainly an arcade racer with an arcade feel on it, you will be amazed how much strategy you will need to perform the "Uber" trick. Unlike the orginal SSX, which was just a racer, SSX tricky is a major overhaul of SSX. In tricky performing tricks will give you access to the "UBER" trick and an infinite turbo gauge, unlike in the original where you perform tricks just because you could.

Is this just a port from the PS2 version? The answer is no, the Xbox version certainly has lesser load times and plays much faster than its counterpart. Though it's essentially identical to the PS2 version, the Xbox incarnation does come with a handful of graphical frills that you will no doubt appreciate. The graphics are much more clear, you can actually look in the snow and notice the snow flakes. Frame rate is crisp and characters are also self-shadowed. There is also some DVD extras with the package where you can see Lucy Lui!!

All in all the best SSX Tricky verion is XboX. But if you have it in another system, same gameplay, so stick with your other versions. But if you have Ps2 and XboX like me, go for the XboX version.

52 LOOKS LIKE A FUN GAME

Quote of the Day:

At the heart of science is an essential tension between two seemingly

contradictory attitudes -- an openness to new ideas, no matter how bizarre
or counterintuitive they may be, and the most ruthless skeptical scrutiny
of all ideas, old and new. This is how deep truths are winnowed from deep
nonsense. Of course, scientists make mistakes in trying to understand the
world, but there is a built-in error-correcting mechanism: The collective
enterprise of creative thinking and skeptical thinking together keeps the
field on track.

All seems condemned in the long run to approximate a state akin to
Gaussian noise.
