1 What is up with the contrast on this thing?
I got this monitor for free so I suppose I can't complain too much.
However, I've had a terrible time trying to get the contrast ratio to work properly with my HDTV cable box and DVD player (both connected with Monster component cables).
No matter what I do, it seems that the whites are way too white. If I turn down the contrast all the way down, I can still see the whites glaring out at me.
Every other part of the picture is pretty fantastic. The default settings for picture mode (Dynamic, Standard, Movie) are completey useless.
I just don't understand why it's only the white's that are off.
I wonder if I have a defective unit.
