SanDisk's long history of technological innovation and industry leadership has led to the development of a flash family of products unparalleled in its scope and breadth. The company has five flash data storage product lines: the PC Card ATA FlashDisk, CompactFlash, MultiMediaCard, IDE FlashDrive and the IDE Flash Chipset. In addition to high density, patented SanDisk flash chips, all of the products include an intelligent controller which effectively places the burden of card management on the card itself, not on the host system in which it is used. The MultiMediaCard is designed to provide maximum performance for today's digital devices. The card weighs less than two grams and is the size of a postage stamp. The small size of the MultiMediaCard is allowing digital device product manufacturers the ability to continuously design ultra-small, portable devices. The MultiMediaCard has been designed into products that include digital music players, digital camcorders, cellular phones and global positioning systems (GPS).
SanDisk MultiMediaCard is the ideal storage medium for portable, battery-powered devices. It extends system battery life because it is nonvolatile, requiring no power to maintain the stored data.
1 Bought it and forgot it!
Last July we purchased a Kodak DX3700 digital camera. I ordered the SanDisk 64 MB multimedia card, put it in the camera, and basically never thought about it again, because it works flawlessly. I have over 500 digital photos on my computer which I have taken since I bought the camera and this multimedia card and have never had any problems.
2 BAD PRODUCT
I bought a SanDisk card thinking that the quality brand name would guarantee quality product. Instead after only 7 months of use within my MP3 Player from DIGISETTE, the memory is corrupted!! It's not recognized by the MP3 player nor a PC USB MMC reader.
You expect it to work for a long time when you buy from a brand leader, not only 7 months.
3 Sandisk defined the specification, hello
Sandisk and Seimens Electronics co-developed
MMC technology. So if this card does not work
in your *box*, give the maker of your toy a bad
review. Sandisk is the gold standard for
MMC technology. If this card does not work
in your application nothing else "should" work.
4 MMC multimedia card
It came with my IPAQ Personal Audio Player. Notice that the player costed me $45.00, so the cards are more expesive than the player. $50.00 for 64Mb is the best price I'v seen from a well known supplier. I am copying 31 songs, 2hrs aprox. in one of this cards. I'll recomend it.
5 Confirmed: Doesn't work with Nike PSA|Play!!
... P>Thank goodness for Amazon's straight-forward return process or I would be really unhappy! This card is NOT compatible with the Nike PSA Player. Unfortunately, I only learned that after the fact from reading these reviews. Might want to confirm with Sandisk before buying this card.
6 Just what I need
This Memory Card is just what I needed for my MP-3 Player and couldn't be happier with it .
7 Doesn't work with Intel Audio Player 3000
I bought a SanDisk card first thinking that the quality brand name would guarantee compatibility. But it did not work with my Intel Audio Player 3000. It copies 1 song 13 times instead of 13 songs once each. That's no good. Intel says it's SanDisk's error and SanDisk says it's Intel's problem. That leaves consumers caught in the middle. So I returned mine and bought the Simple Tech MMC card and it works like a charm! It was 10% cheaper too.
I supposed I should have checked compatibility before buying, but you expect it to work when you buy the brand leader.
8 DOES NOT WORK WITH NIKE PSA AS OF APRIL 2002!!!!
I purchased a Sandisk 64 MMC card for my Nike PSA 120 player. Unfortunately, it is no longer compatible with the Nike players. I called the Nike PSA help line (through Sonic Blue) at 254 299-2759 and they said that since some time in April 2002, the San Disk cards do not work on the Nike Players. The representative said that the Lexar cards do work however I am still waiting to test this out for myself. Very, very disappointing considering the rave reviews others have given for the San Disk and its compatibility with the Nike players. Amazon, please remove those outdated reviews.
9 Item did not work.
My review sounds like the others.
The (2) MMC's did not work in my Nike Rio player.
I did not think I could have received 2 defective MMC'S but go figure. I tried new software, I talked to technical support for Rio & Sandisk. I Figured for sure it was just something I was doing wrong.
I purchased a different brand MMC it worked perfectly in just a few seconds.
Amazon is giving me a refund, very happy with the top notch service they provide.
10 Totally Incompatible with INTEL PA 3000
I purchased this item with at the same time as the Intel Personal Audio Player 3000 and had instant trouble. I attempted to download songs to the card several different times and as soon as the last song would finish it would erase all other songs on the card an duplicate the last song numerous times! Then, when the card was removed from the player the player didn't recognize the internal memory! I contacted Intel and they came back and stated that they have had reports of this happening with SanDisk 64 cards since March. They had reports of every detail of the problem I experienced. I sent the card back and ordered a card from a different manufacturer that has no reported problems. Not impressed with SanDisk! In my opinion this card should not even be offered for sale until SanDisk sort out the issue!
11 Bad Product - Questionable Company
Sandisk MMC cards may work with some devices but they do not work with the Intel personal audio 3000 period. This is in other reviews and I AGREE TOTALLY with them. The problem is that while the card is recognized, you can only put 1 mp3 file on the card. If you copy another it will put two copies of itself and get rid of the previous one! This is hard to believe but very true. I used Intel transfer software, Musicmatch transfer software and Media player transfer - all three methods got the same result. I called Intel and they said there was a know problem and gave me the Sandisk number. The first call to Sandisk resulted in them telling me they knew of no problem - I protested and they escalated and said they would call me. I called again today - they admitted it was a problem but had no solution. Shame on Amazon for selling me this combo. Shame on Sandisk for not being honest on the first call.
12 Didn't work with Intel Audio Player 3000
As others noted, SanDisk MMC 64MB did not work with Intel Personal Audio Player 3000. After some struggle I found the notice on the Intel support site regarding the incompatibility, which suggested contacting the SanDisk support. I did and it was a total waste of time...I returned this product to Amazon and asked for exchange with a Viking MMC...the Viking MMC worked just fine. 5 stars for Amazon, 1 for SanDisk.
13 Doesn't work with Intel Personal Audio player
Don't buy it if you own an Intel Personal Audio player, they're not compatable.
14 Disappointed
I was so excited when I received my MMC in the mail today. When I transferred the first song onto the external memory of my Intel Personal Audio Player 3000 it went well. The trouble began after that. I was not able to transfer any other songs. It seemed to be working but after the second transfer the first song came up again. I tried another song. The same thing happened. Apparently, this is a known problem with the 64MB cards.
15 Had to return due to Intel Player 3000 problem
Careful! After I ordered this for my Intel Pesonal Audio Player 3000 a service note was added to [the support website] noting that some cards (like both of the ones I ordered) end up repeating the same track over and over again (and actually playing that way vs just appearing to list the same track over and over). I don't know if this is Intel's or SanDisk's problem, but since it only happens for SanDisk I'll be ordering a different vendor's MMC.
16 Terrible service
This is the second SanDisk 64mb MMC card I have tried with my Intel 3000 player. The songs replicate themselves on the card. Intel says the problem is SanDisk and SanDisk just told me the problem is Intel. The Intel support site lists SanDisk techncial phone number on their site (others have had same problem with the card)and to call them. It was a useless call as SanDisk said problem was not theirs. All I know is I have a MMCard that doesn't work. I am returning it again.
17 Couldn't get it to work at all
The camera wouldn't work at all with the card...returning both the card AND the camera...not worth the hassle. Pretty embarassing Christimas gift
18 Great Card
Ok, this thing is great. It works wonderfully with my Nike mp3 player. For those that complain about the price and the capacity, just look at the size of the thing. The only other media even close to it is Sony's memory gate chips, and those cost a heck of a lot more per mb then these do. And you who complain about the capacity maximum of only 64mb should note that Smart media is tops at 128, only compact flash is currently above that. Also, give the technology some time, traditional ram prices haven't always been so low, for those of you that can't remember back that far, just trust me (even though I am only 19 :) Also, if you have so many problems with it, then don't use it, there are three other memory technologies currently being used, and more coming. So if you want the price to rapidly fall and for disks to get monstrously huge, then start buying more of it. The R&D money for research is what your paying for don't forget.
19 It's memory...it has a 60 G impact rating - it works
What to say about a memory chip? It works and the specs show that the MTBF and enviornmentals are far better that human memory.
Hey, it's a chip.
20 Sandisk 64 MB MMC Card
The Sandisk MMC card works great. Access is quick and the compact size makes it a pleasure to carry where ever you go.
Presently the only downside to the MMC format is the cost per MB of storage is a higher than compact flash or smartmedia and the capacity of the media is smaller. 64 mb is the top capacity presently available. However this being the case you can't fault sandisk as they are competively priced with other MMC media.
21 64MB is not enough
I owned a Casio EM-500 pocket PC. Having brought an extra 64 MB MMC card, it is barely enough to hold all my stuff in my pocket PC. Otherwise, this MMC is a MUST for the EM-500 since it only has 16 MB of RAM. The access speed of this MMC is excellent. My only complain is the price and the capacity. The price for the MMC should be lower (like PC RAM price) and the capacity should be higher, at least 256 MB.
22 Scandisk did a great job!!!
I use the multimedia card to keep files and music for my Casio Pocket PC. Smaller than a conventional compact flash, this scandisk 64 MB does a great job with fast access and even a smaller size that helps my pocket pc's overall size small. I hope to see more and more products from digital cameras to other PDA jump to this great new memory card. Excellent job. I give it only four stars due to the fact that 64 MB is the largest compacity for this format.
