1 Terrible customer support
About 6 months after I started using my SanDisk card in my Canon camera, I started to get "memory error" problems. I reformatted the card in the camera and that got things working for a few more months. Now, reformatting using the camera doesn't work.

I called SanDisk customer support and they told me I need to reformat using a card reader. Then they told me I am supposed to reformat the card twice a month using a card readder. When I told them I don't have one, they told me to go buy one, or go visit a local Staples or Office Depot and try to use theirs! Are these guys kidding??? Reformat twice a month? Walk into a store and ask the sales guy if I can borrow the use of a card reader???? No way!

When I insisted that SanDisk replace the card, they reluctantly agreed to do so, and even then, they said they would only replace the card this once since I failed to follow the "standard procedure" of using a card reader to reformat the card. All this over a $25 card. It would have be so much easier for them to simply offer to replace the card at the outset without all the attitude. I'm never buying SanDisk again.
2 Quality Card. Period.
My Canon S410 came with a tiny stock card and I soon found the need to upgrade. This is a 4 MP camera and I set it on medium size and quality and can fit about 400 pictures on one card.
(My wife however actually finds a way to fill the whole thing in a day!) It has great compatiblity, size and dependability. As it fits in the canon, into the card reader built into my PC and has never never corrupted. The only regret I have is that I spent $40 on it at a local "Costco's" and now it's $25 at amazon.
3 GOOD AS I KNOW IT
IT MY FIRST COMPACT FLASH CARD SO NOTHING TO COMPARE IT TO.ITS GOOD AS FAR AS IM CONCERNED.
4 How many pictures will it store?
How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about. Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.

The SanDisk SDCFB-256-A10 256MB CompactFlash Card, like most 256MB cards, will store on average 284 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 213 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera, 128 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 102 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 80 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this card is the right capacity for your specific needs.
5 Reliable
I bought this card with the Vicking CF 256MB and both had been very reliable in my Canon A-70 camera and my PC-104 Computer (Micro Computer) were this card runs has a hard drive.
6 Works great with my Canon S400
I've taken about 300+ pictures with this card in my Canon S400 and I have absolutely no complaints. It can hold about 246 pictures at the finest quality and 1600x1200 resolution, which is more than most people would need. The picture transfer time is not bad at all -- about the same as the card the camera came with (which is also made by Sandisk). Since the Canon came with a SanDisk card, I would say going with the same brand would be your best bet.
7 Happy with purchase
I am happy with my purchase and am considering buying another. Amazon seems to be one of the cheapest ways to purchase. I haven't had any trouble with Amazon, but don't expect to get your disk quickly. Other items I have ordered from them came pretty quick, so I was shocked when it took so long.

As for the disk. I feel that it is alittle slow, but I don't have anything to compare it to, it's the only one I have. I use a digital rebel. Takes forever to transfer files to my PC. I am not aware of any data loss. I would recommend.

8 Great memory capacity for Vodafone V801SH
256MB SD Memory card gives my Sharp Vodafone V801SH (celluar phone) up to 428 minutes of video recording capability in 176 x 144 (QCIF) resolution and close to 4.5 hours of recording time in stereo at 128 kbps rate and up to 17.5 hours of plain mono voice recording. Good quality and fast recovery rate of high resolution (858 x 1144) digital photo on the V801 also. Great piece of memory card!
9 disappointed with Amazon's delivery
I am really disappointed at Amazon.com this time.

I ordered ScanDisk Ultra II 512MB in May and after a month Amazon still could not deliver it. Then I cancelled the order (thank god) and ordered another memory card ScanDisk 256MB, which is actually in stock. Still, the estimated delivery time is 11 days after the order time, and I am hoping that Amazon can keep its estimation accurate.

Have had very good experience with amazon before, but this time, no.

10 Great Product
This is a great product at a fantastic price.
11 Unreliable, not recommended for sensitive material
I purchased this compactflash card due to the low price of the rebate. I quickly found that it was very "glitchy" when it came to data. I had frequent errors formatting the card and transferring pictures were a pain as I found that they corrupt in many instances. I refuse to use this card in my elph for fear of losing irreplaceable images. I only use it for mp3's in my ipaq. I was warned prior to my purchase as many pda users had found sandisk to be.. "less than reliable." It has become a dedicated mp3 card due to this.
12 Best of the Best
SanDisk is one of those companies that has never failed me. In my line of work, I sometimes put my camera and media cards to the test. Every SanDisk card I have ever used has been able to keep up with the demands I've place on them. They are some of the best products I have ever purchased, unlike a PNY card that broke after only one use! Regardless of what format you need, I highly recommend this and other SanDisk products.
13 Best value for money of any CF card...
I have two Sandisk 256MB CF cards, and I'm very happy with them. My oldest Sandisk 256MB CF card is about a year old. Between the two of them, I've taken several thousand pictures, and so far neither has given me any problems. My oldest card has proven its reliability in the combination of humid Scandinavian summer weather, a lot of hiking in southern Arizona's blasting heat, and some really cold Colorado winter weather. It has performed exceptionally well under all of these conditions.

Pros:
* Durable and exceptionally reliable - Sandisk does without a doubt have the most reliable CF cards on the market.
* This card is due to its reliability and price, without a doubt the best value for money of any CF card on the market today.

Cons:
* Molasses in winter pretty much describes the speed of this card. Seriously though, tests show that unless you're transferring files to your computer via a USB 2.0 interface, the read/write speed between the camera and the CF card does not nearly exploit the potential of any good card. There might be a 20-30% difference between a fast and a slow card when it comes to in-camera read/writes.

This card is extremely reliable, and looking at reliability+price (you can get really good deals on this card) vs. speed, I'd say this is the best value for money of any CF card on the market today. I give it an unconditional 5 stars!!!

14 Ok, next time I'm buying a faster card
The Sandisk 256Mb Cf card really delivers 244MB after formatting it in my Canon A80 camera. But this happens to many CF cards, you have to accept that.
I chose a 256MB card since the Canon takes up about 2MB PER Picture on best quality and size settings ( total about 120 odd-pics). Lower quality( picture compression) or pic size gives me much more images. I can record about 700 odd seconds of video on the card @ 320*240 15fps settings. I definitely recommend this card size as one if you plan to buy a 3MP+ camera. Since the price difference is reducing every day, it makes more sense to opt of a 256Mb instead of a 128MB card. FOr 5MP and above, however, a 512MB+ card may be better suited.

The card is very reliable. I've been using it for 3 months+ and have taken 500+ photos on it. However, the speed at which the card writes the image is a bit too slow for my liking ( or maybe its the camera?). Next time i'm going in for a faster card , maybe from the Sandisk ULTRA II series....

15 THIS CARD CANNOT BE USED
After using this card for 4 months, My Nikon Coolpix 3100, can no longer read this card. I took about 300 pictures and having problems. I also have a Lexar 128 MB card with no problem, which I have been using before the San Disk. I sent an email to Sandisk, to see if there is anyway to do a Digital Recovery....
It might be economical to buy two 128 Mb cards, if one goes bad, then you have a backup..
16 I trust this one.
I was seduced by the low price and promises of faster speed from Simpletech, but my fancy new Simpletech card went crazy within 10 minutes. I have a Canon S230. My SanDisk 256MB has never given me one problem in a year of heavy use. I won't stray again. Why take a chance with your precious photos? I will be returning the Simpletech and buying another SanDisk this weekend.
17 beautiful with my Canon S200 Elph
I've had this card for approximately 9 months now and am very satisfied and wouldnt hesitate to purchase another one.

I bought this card for my Canon S200 Elph, which is a 2 mega pixel camera and love this card. On my camera's highest settings (each image roughly 300-500k) I can shoot approximately 500-600 images.

I have a Viking 128mb card as a back up if I run out of room (rarely do I need it) In Nine months I have NOT had ANY fatal errors with this card being bad. Which is amazing as I have shot approximately 9K images. and normally shoot until this card is full, or close to it.

I have shot with this card in Chicago winters and Chicago summers, which, if you know Chicago, is a good testament to its durability.

The Sandisk 256 is a nice roomy dependable 256 card, I highly recommend. Cheers.

18 Repeat purchase should say it all!
SanDisk is the developer of this product and it is the standard for the industry. That should be endorsement enough for nearly everyone. But maybe the holdout doubters will be convinced by the fact that this "doubting Thomas" (and engineer) is sufficiently conviced of the superiority of this product to have purchased three (one 64 MB and two 256 MB) before this latest one.
19 Worth owning one .
Works without any problems on Canon S45. Havent tested it with full load, but looks ok with 100 pictures at highest resolution till now.
20 SanDisk 256 MB CompactFlash Card
I bought this for my Aiptek Pocket DV2 camera and it is the best card for my camera and I can save too many pictures and video clips now. The quality of the product is amazing and it is a
reliable card for any camera and wt else u want as long as it works fine for u.
21 Beware of Toshiba e740 compatibility problems
Great product @ a fantastics price....but beware of compatibility issues if your buying it for your Toshiba e740 PDA. Both Toshiba & SanDisk has admitted problems with this combination.
22 Beware of Toshiba e740 compatibility problems
Great product @ a fantastics price....but beware of compatibility issues if you are buying it for the Toshiba e740 PDA. Both Toshiba & SanDisk have admitted problems with this combination.
23 A CF card. No more, no less.
What do you want? This is a CF card, has functioned well for me. SanDisk is a good brand, trustworthy, and I would recommend this card.
24 A good buy!!!
I bought this for my Aiptek Pocket DV2CC5 camera and it has made my life so much easier. It saves way more pictures and video clips than it would have by itself. And the best thing is that I can take the card, and put it in another camera if I wanted to.
25 Great deal
I bought a Kodak Easyshare 4300 (3mpx) camera recently and found that it was short of memory. I ahd 16 mb with the camera which was not enough for more than 15 pictures at highest resolution.

But with card I can take around 240 pictures of highest resolution. Ofcourse one might wonder whether you would take so many pictures before you can download them.

If you go for a trip I doubt if you will have access to a computer. Even if you do you need to install teh software on that computer and download them. So if you are going for a skiing trip with your family and would like to capture every moment, you need atleast 128 mb. 128 mb is good but might fall short if you want to take small videos.

So I strongly recommend this card as there is not much difference in the price between 128 mb and 256 mb. Also if your digital camera has the facility of videos then this card is a MUST.

And ofcourse you might wonder if the prices might go down. But you should also count the invaluable moments you can capture and share immediately with all your family and friends. Also I dont think you will get a better deal than this for atleast 6 months. Dont miss the mail in rebate offer from amazon.com

26 Loads more photos with this baby!
I recently bought a Canon S40 camera which I love..I also purchased this Sandisk 256MB card to go along wiht it..I have taken as many as 264 pictures( think you can get as many as 500 on it) at 2272X1704 resolution(highest resolution for this camera) and it still was going..I believe you can only get about 30 with the card that comes stock with the camera..If your not to much into the high resolution you can get about 1500 pictures at 640X480 I think...Thats a huge benefit if your traveling and cant download onto a computer for a while. Did a week at Disneyworld with the kids and captured the whole thing on one card...SWEET!!

Quote of the Day:

Do molecular biologists wear designer genes?

I got tired of listening to the recording on the phone at the movie
theater. So I bought the album. I got kicked out of a theater the
other day for bringing my own food in. I argued that the concession
stand prices were outrageous. Besides, I hadn't had a barbecue in a
long time. I went to the theater and the sign said adults $5 children
$2.50. I told them I wanted 2 boys and a girl. I once took a cab to
a drive-in movie. The movie cost me $95.
