Cruzer Mini is Hi-speed USB 2.0 certified for fast data transfer (also compatible with USB 1.1).
1 Flash Drive Perfection
I have the SanDisk SDCZ2-128-768 128 MB Cruzer Mini USB 2.0 Flash Drive, and its lightening speed, ease of use and portability, economical size, beautiful blue light when on, makes me want to purchase this 256 MB Cruser...and I will since the price went down below $26.00.
I use the 128 transfering files and photos between my Dell laptop 8600 Inspiron and my other Dell laptop 2500 Inspiron. Both laptops recognizes the 128 immediately when I plug it into the USB ports. And both laptops recognizes and uses its 2.0 high speed.
I couldn't want for a more durable, high quality, exacting Flash Drive for my portable conditions in my home office. The 256 MB Cruzer Mini USB 2.0 Flash Drive is on its way to my beautiful home in Sedona at this very moment.
2 Worthless, Waste of Time, Unreliable
Out of the box, it worked approximately a quarter of the time on the same computer (iBook OSX). Same thing occured on other computers (PCs). Complete waste of money and time trying to deal with it. Scandisk costumer support was worthless, giving pre-made information from a similar questions and it still did not work. Don't by Scandisk.
3 cruzer mini usb 2.0 at work
The Cruzer Mini is an ideal and affordable solution instead of using several floppy's or R/CD's. In my line of work I move around alot and need to copy and change files on the run. The 256 MB flash drive is more than enough to handle all my txt files, my pics and small programs. I wear the flash drive around my neck so I have my hands free and, if needed, I can plug it in any computer (almost any :) computer) around to do my work. For larger files it is not handy, but than, for an average user it is worth the money. No more (damaged) floppy's, no more searching for the right floppy in a sea of floppy's, everything on one flash drive - alot of floppy's.
4 Didn't work right out of the package
Although the system makes the noise of recognition that this thing is attached, it is nowhere to be found when trying to access it. I'm nt that computer savvy, but I've talked w/ others, and it is supposed to plug in and work. This does not. Buy something else.
5 Works just as expected.
I've had it about 4 months, and it's been totally reliable. (However, I certainly would not use it to permanently back-up data -- that's a bad idea in so many ways.) When I got it, I could not figure out how to attach the lanyard, so I just keep the drive in my shirt pocket. I go back and forth from Mac to PC all the time with no problems. Have not tried the encryption. The size of the drive is very good because it can fit side-by-side with another USB plug. Some of the other flash drives I've seen are quite fat, and cannot do this.
6 great buy
I had bought this thumb drive before christmas. It is still working very well. I liked the chance to securely encrypt a few personal files in this compared to my kingston drive. Now, for the actual speed in transferring files, i must say i have no complaints in this section, it is faaaast... I havent lost any data on it.
I had read some of the reviews here before i bought this and was worried bcoz of some of the negative reviews, iam happy i bought it. i shall buy sandisk products again. Before removing the drive,Dont forget to click on the remove hardware button and click on the stop the driver button, this shall protect you from corrupting the disk.
This is a good buy overall.
7 Extremely Useful
Last year I bought the 256 MB Cruzer Mini on sale for about $28 and since that time the little flash drive has repaid itself over and over again. With the Mini there has not been a single time that I remember using a floppy or burning a CD in order to transfer data between different computers. And I will admit that the design could be better, but as long as it works that is unimportant - the back LED light looks very cool though. The only true bad thing about the Mini is that the caps are too easy to lose. However, other than that this is a very useful device to use at school or at work. For the price and the functionality Sandisk has made the floppy obsolete.
8 Works well but easy to lose
I'm on my second cruzer because they work so well and are so small. It has never crashed or become corrupted and I've never lost a file. Any PC with Windows 2000/XP or any Mac recognizes it automatically, and the USB 2.0 writes and reads really fast.
The reason I'm on my second, though, is that they are very easy to lose (a common complaint). They come with a neck strap and detachable clip, but no keychain ring or other way to attach the device. So if you don't want to wear it like a necklace, you'll need to find another way not to lose it! As someone else here suggested, you can do a little lanyard microsurgery and jury-rig a keychain of sorts. It comes with 3 caps but since they fall off so easily they too are very easy to lose.
9 Works great, but could use a better design.
I've had this for about 10 months. I've never had a "mechanical" problem with it (i.e. my data has always been safe). However, I am pretty annoyed at some parts of the design.
Here are my thoughts:
1. First, let me thank Sandisk for not putting the lanyard attachment on the cap like Sony does! No matter what, no attachments should be attached to the cap of any USB device, unless the cap itself is permanently attached (like the imation model 17054 that competes with this item). HOWEVER, they failed to make a cap that would not fall off. Most retail packs of this drive came with 3 caps. Attached to my keychain constantly, it took me about 6 months to lose my first cap (not from leaving it behind--the cap can attach to the other end of the drive when you're using it. My cap just fell off somewhere). My remaining ones, however, only lasted a couple of months. Unless they are going to stick about 10 of these things in the packages (which certainly would be cheap enough), they need to attach it to the drive. The Cruzer Titanium is a definite improvement, although I'd be tempted to go with the Imation if it were more than about $10 less.
2. Of course, since the drive is mostly silver-painted plastic, the paint will pretty much wear off in about 6 months when you attach it to your keys, leaving a dull grey finish. No big surprise there. But if you want it to look pretty after a lot of carrying, I'd go with a model that was either metal or unpainted plastic.
3. In addition to the lanyard, I'd like a keychain attachment. The only way to really make this a nice keychain is to cut the lanyard off its plastic connector with a blade, and then put a mini-ring on that plastic connector, and connect the mini-ring to your keys. I found the tiny string-thing that connects the drive to its half of the plastic connector was a bit long for keychain use, so I had to perform tiny string surgery on it to get it just right. I'm a little obsessive about some things, yes. The plastic connector itself is great though. I'd just like to see another one included that's made for keychains in addition to the lanyard.
10 AWEFUL!
I work as one of 3 dozen computer techies at a university, fixing computers around campus. We were all given these USB keys as a perk of the job and we use the USB keys to store files that help troubleshoot computers. More than half of us have had the darned USB key crash and wither away on us, and several of us have been able to recover it, only for it to crash and burn again. Basically, when you plug it into any computer, no computer detects it, even if you install the driver manually off the website. Granted, most of these computers that the key is put in are "ill" and have viruses, but SanDisk should have created something that would not be so vulnerable and crash so easily. However, most of these USB keys were killed just from transfering a file (such as Ad-aware) onto a computer and then it died. We also have a few 512 SanDisk Micros, and those work just as well as the Minis. In other words, don't get a SanDisk. I'm getting myself a Lexar key.
11 Survived the washing machine
Moments ago, I plugged in my g/f's cruzer flash drive, which she had inadvertently left in her jeans pocket when she did her laundry.
She discovered it AFTER running it through the dryer.
That was about three days ago. Before buying her another one, I just now plugged it in (to a remote USB cable -- I didn't want it shorting out my motherboard) and the damned thing works fine.
12 A Great Convenience
This is a product that is small and has a lot of storage space. It is convenient to use because you don't have to download anything, you just have to plug it into a USB drive on your laptop or computer and it detects the drive. You only need to drag and drop into the drive. Its way..... more convenient than having a floppy disk. I've had the item for a week now and I love, it even comes with three USB plug protectors in clear, blue and green. It also comes with a neckstring so you can carry it around on your neck.
13 survived a 1 hour wash cycle!
You know it is a good electronics product if it can survive a 1 hour wash cycle (with suds and hot-water). it has come in ever so handy, and has never jammed in any of the computer that I have tried it in. I am very impressed and strongly recommend it.
14 Good portable storage
Moved all my crucial files to this device and makes it easy to transport between home and work. Picked it up during the BF sales and was able to get 2 for 10 bucks each. 1 for normal use and 1 for the safe.
15 Lost all my data
This device performed faithfully for a full year, before dying recently. I have had the same experience that the reviewer "easygoing" had; my computer fails to recognize the device, and, within a few moments, the "blue screen of death" appears, crashing the computer. I made the mistake of relying on this device for my back-ups, and now I have lost close to 256 MB of documents. This problem is extremely unexpected, especially given the praise this device has received. I am thoroughly dissappointed and will definately think twice before purchasing another Sandisk item in the future. If you do purchase this item, be sure to have another means of backing up your data.
16 All the function , none of the physical
Ive had this drice a while now.
It functions exactly how it should though, physically it comes up short.
It comes with 3 differnt color caps, but not for fashion, but becuase they fall off and get lost.
Also, it did come with a nifty necklace tie, but as luck would have it, the plastic that holds the string soon snapped off, rendering it sort of useless.
Shop around and at least you can get it for a good price as I did.
17 Great flash drive.
Before I bought this flash drive I had been planning on getting one for quite some time. I'm glad that I decided to get this one. I really appreciate the fact that this device works in Linux (tested it on kernel 2.6.10 with udev installed) and that it supports USB 2.0 (also works in 1.1 slots, but 2.0 is much faster). Another nice thing is that this flash drive comes with a two year warranty. I recommend this flash drive to anyone who is looking to buy one. If 256 MB isn't enough for you, go for the 512 MB or 1 GB version -- you won't regret it.
18 Fast and good
I have been using this Drive for 3 months and i think it's great
It's very fast compared with other flash drives in my office (Memorex and Kingston).
19 Good Product.
I brought this 256 MB SanDisk Cruzer Mini maybe over a year ago. So far, I have no problems with it. I use it with my WinXP notebook which has USB 1.1, not USB 2.0 but it works well since it's backward compatible with USB 1.1. There's nothing to install, just plug it in and it starts working. Currently I ran out of space on the 256 MB so I'm planning on buying the 1 GB SanDisk Cruzer Mini.
20 Highly recommend it...Best for the money!
I bought this item when it was on sale. It is so easy to use and very reliable. It works very faster on laptops with USB 2 connection..I gifted this to my uncle who is a professor and he uses it for his official works..He finds it very easy to handle and very fast to download his presentations to his computer at work from his laptop. My cousin who is a doctor also finds it very useful for his studies / presentations...
Overall, this product is great and it looks very tiny for what it is capable of..
21 Works for me
Ok. A month so far. I think it's fair to review.
Sometimes formatting of documents change a bit, no fault to the flash drive, from OS to OS, but all files work fine in my experience. The encryption is something to worry about on Macs though (as it comes with a built in encryption program for those who didn't already know), because I've had it not show up entirely several times.
The small drive is just that, and sometimes difficult to find when your not wearing a tacky lanyer (which I don't mind, but others have pointed out the sheer antistylistic nature). Still, if you wear the lanyer under your shirt, no one cares. Well this isn't the big deal anyway. Continuing...
The 2 extra caps it comes with are handy because you will lose one. It's unpreventable.
I've gone from Mac OS 10.3, 10.2, 10.1, 9,
Used it on Windows 98SE, XP home, XP pro, 2000.
Back and forth, back and forth, from any of these, not a problem.
Speed's great; USB 2.
It's very helpful that you don't have to download/install a driver, in addition. Worth most of the extra cash I blew just to do that. Not that everyone hasn't mentioned that. Shut up.
Also, for Macs, I'm not sure whether you have to trash the drive if you want it out while it's displaying on the desktop, but better safe than sorry.
My usage:
Nearly daily. Average of twice a day. I have backed up created web pages, MP3s, photos, documents, anti spyware stuff, bootable backup stuff, homework, videos from Ebaums. Basically anything not huge. I use it to transfer files all the time. Beats the hell out of e-mailing them from computer to computer.
Still never filled it up yet, but I wished I had gotten a larger (capacity) model.
I like it, and I'm a techie sorta guy. It's up to you though.
*A little precautionary note for the extra picky. When they say 256 mega bytes, they are not talking about true mega bytes (1*1024*1024 bytes), but 256 million bytes. Not that anyone cares. Lies! Four stars.
22 Where is my order?????
Place my order weeks ago, but Amazon still hasn't ship my item.
23 works great
I've had this for about 9 months; it works great on Windows XP/2000/Server_2003 and also Knoppix. Only problem is that the attachment for the cord broke, but not a big deal.
24 Not Mac Friendly... Mac Haters, Actually
Like many others here, I read some reviews, but obviously, not enough. I was suckered in by what seemed to be an amazingly great price for a 256MB flash drive. Also enticed by what seemed like a great promise of bridge-building, a device built for both the Windows OS and Mac OSX. Sweet.
Except - it's not. At least, not really. I plugged it in, opened the "Read Me" file, only to be taken through product registration and encryption tutorials that are only applicable for Windows users. I called the Encryption customer service number, and she confirmed no Encryption and gave me the SanDisk number for Mac questions, "'cause I don't know ANYTHING about those Macintoshes" - thanks. So I called SanDisk, and Jason there confirmed the following:
1) Basically, should just trash all the instructions and encryption files, as those are only Windows compatible.
2) The drive at start up is titled "NO_NAME". I asked him if I could change that, as I'd possibly (though definitely not now) like to buy another, to keep master's thesis info separate from work info, and Jason says, "Well, not really." So, I asked, wouldn't this be kind of dumb to have multiple drives around all named the same thing? That's what the different colored CAPS are for, he explained.
Ah yes. As we know THOSE will never fall off in a bag or something.
So now I've got a drive, NO_NAME, with trashed files that have taken my 256MB down to 240MB before I've even stored anything, and two more examples of people who really shouldn't be working in 'customer service'.
Final lesson: Don't get suckered in by the price. It's not worth it in frustration OR what you'll be paying again in two months for a good one.
25 Gives you false sense of security
In the few weeks after buying this 256MB Sandisk Cruzer Micro drive, it performed normal, like the other three drives of other brands I also have. Then one day, it just died; did not even appear in "My Computer". I spent many hours testing it on two other computers and this Cruzer would crash the computers, freeze up, show the blue screen of death, and all sorts of error messages. I'm now searching for my receipt to try to get a replacement from Sandisk.
For those who already bought it, DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPLETELY, make backups. It gave me a false of security and then suddenly died on me - all the lost data has to be redone.
Now that I have read other users having the same problem, I don't know whether to trust the replacement drive, that is IF Sandisk does really send me a replacement.
26 Does what it's supposed to but...
I bought this product to replace my original 8MB IBM DiskonKey which I really enjoyed. I have two issues with the Cruzer Mini. The first is that it must be the only item plugged into a USB port. My Mac has a port that comes off the keyboard but does not have one on the front of the machine. The other complaint is minor, the housing of this item feels flimsy and the lanyard connection really does not support placing it on a keyring. Even if I were to rig it up to carry on my keyring I would be afraid it would get too badly beaten up.
27 Not SO Compatible with non XP PC's
Seems like the min Cruzer was not so friendly with the Win 2000 since it worked only once with my PC with 2000 on it! In a second attempt to use this Cruzer, I got an error stating that 'Data is Invalid'. Else wise this device looks Cute... and works well with XP machines.
28 Good Product , Nice Buy
I bought this product 5 months back and is working fine. Its easy to use on Windows XP , But you need to download a driver for it to work on Windows98SE ( Second Edition) . On my windows98SE m/c i installed the driver and the disk was recognised the moment i put it in the usb port. I recommend it to anyone who wants to carry data without hassles. Good product.
29 has been working fabulously well for almost a year
I have heard people complain about SanDisk flash drives, saying that they work for a short while and then drop dead suddenly. I got two 256MB SanDisk Cruzer Mini USB 2.0 flash drives 9 months ago and have been using both almost everyday to transfer files from work to home and vice versa--it's by far the most convenient way to do this. Sometimes I put it in my backpack, othertimes I hang it around my neck like a necklace. They haven't had any problem during these 9 months. Perhaps you just need to treat these drives like floppy disks, e.g. try not to drop them onto the floor. Also, before you unplug it from the computer, ALWAYS hit the "remove hardware" buttom first. Unplugging it without going through that may damage the drive.
This drive transfers files very fast if your computer has USB 2; slower if the computer has only USB 1, but that's still fast enough for me. It's pretty small (and hence its name "Mini"), unlike some other USB drives that are so bulky that I need to remove other USB devices to make enough room for plugging them in.
WARNING: It works with Windows 98SE/2000/Me/XP, but NOT Windows 98 or earlier operating systems. I have used it with Windows 2000 and XP, and it installs automatically and quickly. Have also used it with Windows 98SE, for which an easy-to-install driver needed to be downloaded from the SanDisk web site.
30 Tough and works everytime
I'm not sure what the others have done with their Cruzers, but mine rides in my pocket all day, every day and has for 8 months. I am tough on it and it keeps working like a charm. It is extremely simple to use: Just plug it into your USB drive and it is ready to use once it shows up in your Explorer window. You can go to Sandisk's website and download their FREE security software called CruzerLock2. It works great and should be used to protect your files. I would protect even family pictures. Imagine your USB stick being stolen and then finding all of your personal pictures strung up all over the web! You can also upgrade their software to three incremently more sophisticated versions from within the program. The professional version would work with really large companies and would be ultra secure. I highly recommend this product. I love it so much that I just recieved their 512mb Mini Cruzer yesterday and have put it into use. No, my 256mb Cruzer didn't bite the dust, I just wanted more memory! Buy it......don't pay attention to the negative reviews. I have never had a more trouble free product.
31 It stops working after few uses
I bought mine last month and used it for 10 times and now it doesnt work anymore. I went to a review board and 50% people have the same problems. So stay away from this, if you dont want to loose data.
32 Excellent at first...
I love these new drives. I have a total of three, currently, all from various companies. The Sandisk served me well for the first few months. Of course, there were the occassional corrupted files, but that even happens on floppies - so there's no big deal. Then, one day, my disk completely stopped working on me. I'm still waiting for a response from their support team. Overall, the Sandisk is a good buy, but it runs the risk of dying. However, I don't plan on buying another one of these from this company. One death is more than enough - I'll stick with my Jumpdrive, thank you!
33 Cruzer 256MB: Perfect for college students
As flash memory prices have been dropping, these handy USB keys are really starting to change the way people deal with data. The Cruzer Mini is extremely affordable right now, and its capacity is large enough to justify dropping your floppy drives out the window (if you have not already).
Although this is true for most of these devices, modern operating systems instantly bring these portable drives up, without the need for drivers.
For college students this is the next big device that is helping bridge the need for storage - more convienient than network-attached storage from home, and yet must easier to edit documents in place than say CD-R. Anyone can use one, there is no learning curve.
The Cruzer Mini however is larger than some. A friend owns the Cruzer Micro of the same size, and it does take up slightly less space in a pocket. The genius design of Sandisk however allows this to be plugged into machines with several adjacent USB ports.
Also, I believe I have separated the internal board from the plastic molding because there is a little give in the connector around the surrounding plastic now. It is a sturdy device, but it is something you don't want sitting at the bottom of your bookbag.
I will be purchasing a Sandisk 1GB drive soon as it is affordable and will allow me to store just that much more.
34 Mmm
Works fine as expected....but... It`s big compared with new ones and it doesn`t have a keyholder ring.
Better try the Cruzer MICRO.
35 Huge space, reliable
I've been using this to transfer my files to and from my web class all semester. It's huge, I can fit tons of pictures and other stuff on it. I've run into no problems so far, and it was cheaper than a lot of other brands.
36 It's handy...when it works
I loved it for a month. I was very careful about ejecting it properly and the whole bit. After one month all my files started becoming corrupted. Luckily I had already backed up everything. Hopefully they will refund me, or send me a brand new, more reliable one.
argh.
37 saved data gets corrupted
I was overseas working on a job that requires collecting data and saving/working on excel, power point, and word files (MS Office). It came in very handy until my data started getting corrupted. some of Excel and Words files were totally lost, all I could see was yyyyyyyy..... basically lost 2 days worth of work. I think some section of memory might have gone bad. I heard from couple of people that sandisk flash memory is slow and not reliable, but I bought it anyways. my mistake and won't be purchasing sandisk anymore.
38 its great!
after my computer crashed, my cousin bought it for me...god this lil gadget is a lifesaver..it works great..and its so easy to use!!
39 Great but . . .
It's a great device and it's all been said in other reviews, but . . .
Having had other small USB drives, for me it's crucial to have the ability to hang it on a car key ring. There is no way to do this with this device. Carrying it loose in a pocket or around my neck is not convenient so, if you're a key ring man, get ready to make some alterations, or look for something else, they're all very similar!
41 easy to operate, easy to carry, I'm loving it!
It's very convenient for me to have this product. My notebook doesn't have a floppy drive, all my file transfer are based on this usb drive. It's great.
42 Mini Cruzer
It's a good product but less then I have expected from it.
It downloads my stuff quickly and without problems but sometimes it is not recognized by the computer and that can be very annoying, esspecially when you need to download something urgently and it just won't work!!!
Good but could of been better
43 Great
This product is great. I just transfered over 3 Gbs of data from my home computer to my laptop. I coudn't have done it without the cruzer mini.
44 Windows 98, First Edition, No Problem
Just recieved this. Using Windows 98 First Edition (with all available updates). Downloaded and installed drivers. The device works fine.
45 BEWARE! Cruzer Mini
I bought two 256MB Cruzer Mini's in early June. On the third use, one of the memory sticks completely stopped working. I was showing some digital photos on the stick using a friend's computer when the stick just became unreadable. The green light still comes on when inserted and a drive will appear in "my computer," but Windows is unable to read the stick at all. I had to send the stick away and pay $100 to have a company attempt to recover my files.
I have used two other brands of USB memory sticks in the past for long periods of time with no issues. I can't recommend buying the Sandisk 256MB Cruzer Mini.
46 Great drive
The sandisk 256 mb is a great drive, fast, really, really compact drive. I have had the drive for about 2 months now, and I am here just to buy another drive.
47 Excellent
I have been using my 256MB Cruzer for many months now as a portable documents drive, and it has worked wonderfully. It's very important on WinNT or Win2K systems to select the "Unplug or eject hardware" option from the icon in the system tray before disconnecting the drive, however; I get the feeling that many who are complaining about reliability have been indiscriminately just ripping it out of the socket when they're done. On WinXP there is no need for the precaution, however.
48 It doesn't like my USB hub, but otherwise it works fine.
I have a Win 98SE system with a 1.1 USB hub (made by SIIG). I got all the usual errors that many are complaining about (Do you want to format, etc.). But this flash drive works fine when I attach it directly to my box via a USB cable. It also works fine on the Win2000 system I have at work. Therefore, if you are experiencing problems with this drive, don't try deleting things in the registry like SanDisk recommends; try hooking it up directly to your computer, or try a computer with a different operating system, to determine if the problem is with the flash drive or caused by something else. If the cause is not the flash drive, you'd be wasting your time trying to get a replacement.
Amazon's site didn't mention it, but if you plan on using this drive with Win98SE, you will need to download a driver from SanDisk. I attribute my problem with the hub to a bug in the driver.
Using USB 1.1 (all USB 2.0 devices are backwards compatible with USB 1.1), I was able to write an 11 MB file to the flash drive in 20 seconds. That is probably OK for USB 1.1; USB 2.0 should be much faster.
Including the rebate, I spent $31 on this drive; quite a bargain. I am satsified with the product and am giving it a 4 star rating only because the driver should have been compatible with my USB hub.
49 coool !
this was a cool buy (got it for only $30). It comes with 3 colored caps and a big green light tells whether it connected and is working fine or not!.
It is much faster than previous solid state drives i used and works flawlessly with windows xp... although if u have Linux (like i do!) then you have to a bit of tweaking and it will work well!
Overall a gr8 buy... although I can already see 1GB drives on sale!!
regards,
Sumit.
50 EXCELLENT FLASH DRIVE ...THANKS SANDISK MINI CRUZER
I'M USING THIS DEVICE FOR MORE THAN ONE YEAR .PROBLEM APPEARS "ZERO".JUST PUT IN THE USB PORT AND GOT IT EVERYTHING.DELETE THOUSENDS TIME.BEST FLASH DRIVE I EVER SEEN.
DON'T SEE ANY NEGATIVE MESSAGE ,BECAUSE SIMPLY THEY DON'T HAVE IT.
THANKS SANDISK MINICRUZER 256 MB.
51 so far satisfied
have been using this cruzer mini 256 for a month now with no problems so far. it got a classy look to it. about half the size of a pack gum (thiner that is). i carry it on a key chain - though it is not really meant for it (for some strange reason they assume the consumer would rather carry it on his/her neck). due to some reviews saying that it gets scratched easily i taped it over with a see-through scotch making it scratch resistant so it still looks as good as new. due to its form factor fits in tightly placed usb connectors and as far as speed is concerned - according to my estimate it would take around 5 minutes to fill it up over USB1 connection, but don't take my word for it. anyway, it's fast enough for me. i've used winXP/2000 with it.
overall great flash drive for the money - highly reccomended.
52 No software, and less space than I thought I had ...
I have had this device for about a week, and it has been very useful to me, with no problems accessing data.
However, there are a couple of points that I would like to mention...
The packaging for the device stated that data encrypting software was included. I did not find any software included with my device, and so had to download it from the Sandisk website. It's only a small download, I have to admit, but Sandisk shouldn't say that something is included in the box, if it isn't!
The other thing I noticed is that although the device is a 256MB drive, this is not the actual amount of data I am able to store as there is some space allocated for formatting. This appears to be 3MB per 64MB of storage, so in this case 12MB is used, resulting in there being 244MB left for my data.
This might not be too much of a problem for most users, but it's something to bear in mind if you are expecting to be able to move files that are slightly larger than 244MB, for instance!
53 Works as expected
I have had one of these for about 3 years, and in that three years I have had Zero problems with it. It is fast, easy to use, Windows auto detects it and installes the necessary drivers, and it is small enough for my applications.
54 Flimsy Case Design
Let's be honest. For most of us any USB flash drive will work as good as any other. I learned the hard way that one of the more important features to look at in choosing one is the key ring and case design. This model has a flimsy little plastic "bridge" across a cut-out on the side of the case. You're supposed to thread a small lanyard through this cutout to connect it to a keyring. I did this, and within a week the plastic piece broke off and I lost the flash drive. Look for one that has a sturdy loop or key ring connection on the case design.
55 Another fine product from Sandisk
There's not much more you can ask of a product than for it to work they way it's supposed to. This device, like other Sandisk products I've owned, works as advertised. I just inserted it into the USB ports on my two laptops and ran the Cruzerlock installer to setup the secure file utility. My only complaint (and the reason it got a 4-star rating versus 5 stars) is that the slot where the lanyard attaches looks pretty flimsy and I wouldn't doubt that at some point it would break.
56 Both PCs not working....Terrible.
I am very happy with my previous Sandisk purchases (flash cards and reader). But, NOT this ONE! I tried it under XP Home and XP Professional. In either case, only one USB port detected the flash drive and tried to install the driver. However, the installation can not be done completely and WINDOWS posted warning message such as " ....may not work properly"....
I tried the Sandisk online FAQ logs and found some "fix" on the registry. But, the registry described in the fix can not be found. Only something with similar VID(Vendor ID?) exists on my PCs. They may have changed the driver or something. How can my two recently-bought P4 machines not working at the same time?
I am returning this junk. I have another 64MB USB 2.0 flash drive from Vixxxn works great though.
57 Overseas rating
I am from Slovakia, Europe and I really trust products from Sandisk. I've got SD card 256MB to my Palm pilot, SD reader/writer "thing" to connect w/ PC as well as two mini cruzers for PC. They're all running pretty well. No problems at all. I'm gonna buy third cruzer right now, to my brother. To be honest, all people here are getting crazy for that, pushing me to order real number of them and ship it all here (even though shipping to Europe is not a cheap issue)
By the way I am from Europe (Slovakia) and if something got wrong w/ my flash-drives I would have no way to send it back and forth. So.... I spent a loooong time searching among brands and producers of these and I decided to put my trust to Sandisk Now I see the Sandisk is a real BRAND I can trust! After all these experiences I wouldn't exchange w/ any other brand at no cost.
You'll see as you get one! Looks great, works even greater.
At last.. the li'l bug I observed: when I bought two units above, I figured that one of them was 8MB less capacity than another one, but.. that's all =)
They're doin' a good job (meaning.. Sandisk)
58 Works Beautifully.
I've actually got a couple of these, one I've had for over 6 months and I haven't had any trouble with them at all. I don't know how I ever got along without them; they hold so much more info than a floppy disk, yet they are just as portable. The Cruzer is a lot cheaper than some of the competing USB drives, but it works just as well. It's a bargain.
One of the reviewers below said that it doesn't work with the keyboard USB ports on Macs. I sometimes use Macs at work and I haven't had any problems using the Cruzer in the Mac keyboard port.
59 Really slow
My unit takes 10 minutes to delete 100Mb of stored data, so it is faster to burn a new CD than replace the data in the this memory device !!!
60 Absolutely Horrible Product!
My cruzer died after 1 month. Luckily I did not have any important documents in it. After reading all the other negative reviews, I will never ever buy one again. I have contacted Sandisk about getting it fixed or getting a new one. Still waiting ... I am still in the market for another (non-Sandisk) flash drive.
61 How great can a flash drive be?
I've had one of these for a few months, it's great, a million times better than floppy disks. I work in an IT department and recommend it to at least one person a week who is looking for a way to move files that are too large to move on a floppy disk. The thing fits in your pocket, doesn't use up much space and works easily on Win2k or WinXP. For Win98se you need to install drivers.
Comes with a handy file lock switch so that you can't write to the drive or delete file... same idea as the write protect on a floppy.
The only bad thing, the caps for the drive are not that durable and are a little small and easy to lose. That said, you get 3 of them.
If you are still using floppy drives... rip that out of your machine and buy one of these.
62 Won't work with Mac Keyboard port
I've been using a 128MB flash drive for about a year and found the space limiting so I decided to buy the SanDisk 256 MB Cruzer Mini. I just opened it and placed it in my Mac's keyboard USB port only to get a "low power warning" saying it wouldn't work. This makes it useless to me unless I go out and buy a powered USB Hub. All the convienence of this device is lost if I have to crawl around behind my tower, unplug a cable, and then plug in the flash drive everytime I want to use it. And of course since I use it primarily to move data from home to work I guess I'd need to buy a powered hub there as well. I guess I should return it but I had to mutilate the packaging in order to get to it. I probably would have been better off buying a second 128MB flash drive and just carry two around.
63 Great Unit for such a great price
At first after reading all the below reviews about this product and noticing all the negative reviews, I was a bit hesitant to buy the SanDisk 256MB flash drive. []
I figured hey, at that price, what do I have to lose? So needless to say, I bought it.
Upon receiving the unit, one of the first things I noticed was how incredibly small the unit was. They wern't kidding when they said this unit's about the size of a pack of gum. And its even lighter than one too! After using this thing for about a little over a month, these are my thoughts about this product:
Sturdyness: There were many complaints that this unit is rather flimsy. And I must admit, its not the strongest of cases in the world, but unless your throwing this thing around everywhere or stepping on it, its more than sturdy enough for regular wear and tear. Someone even complained that over time, the cap tended to fall off by itself. But losing the cap shouldn't be too much of a problem as the unit came with 2 more replacement caps for a total of 3 straight out of the box.
Price: Shopping around, you'll find that SanDisk is DEFINATELY THE cheapest flash drive around.
Size: As I stated about, this unit really is the size of a pack of gum! In fact, i'd go as far to say that this unit is SMALLER than a pack of gum! Weight wise, this thing is definately lighter than a pack of gum. Its so thin that I can have the SanDisk drive plugged into my USB port and have another USB device plugged into the port right next to it. Thats something that most (if not all) other flash drives out there CAN'T do without a USB cable extension.
Reliability: This is what it all basically boils down to. And despite numerous complaints from other individuals about their units failing, I've never had that problem with mine. I use my SanDisk to transfer large amounts of data between my desktop PC to my laptop and I've found the process to be both painless and easy. I merely plug the drive into my USB port, copy over the files I want onto the drive, then remove it and stick it into my laptop. And I've DEFINATELY NEVER had this drive get stuck in my USB port. In fact, I can't even see HOW it could possibly get stuck. ITS NOT THAT TIGHT OF A FIT! Not loose enough to fall out, but not tight enough that you'd have to force it into the USB port. After using it for a little over a month, I've yet to have the device fail on me.
Conclusion: All in all, this is an excellent product for a very low price. Fantastic price, excellent design, and great reliability, what more could you ask for?!?! My only real complaint is that it dosen't come with a keychain ring. Instead it comes with a strap to wear the drive around your neck. I mean, com'on! Who the heck would wear this thing around their neck?!?!
64 Great for moving data between computers
Well, I am a IT consultant and I use to carry a lot of CD's with me, but I've found that the SanDisk 256MB is much better to carry at the moment that you need documents or tools to repair computers.
Even my girlfriend have found a use for it cause she takes a lot of pictures with her digital camera, now is easier for her to move her pictures between our two computers.
It is a great product, the only problem would be when is used with a Win 98 computer but you always can carry the driver in a CD.
65 Cruzer Great but Cruzerlock SW SUCKS!
The Cruzer mini works great for me. I've used it several months now.
But the Cruzerlock software stinks. First it got corrupted and it wouldn't run. I didn't lose data, but I couldn't get to my files for a day - this happened on exactly the same day they were updating the Sandisk website and took the install download away.
Today, I got an error while launching cruzerlock which is "can't find password from CIS". Apparently the Cruzer has lost my password and when I type in my correct password it cannot recognize it and all my files remain locked. I'm very upset and on the phone with tech support now. This could be tragic if I needed a Powerpoint file right now for a presentation.
So don't use Cruzerlock? Can't take my chances if I lose the Cruzer, too much confidential stuff onboard. So I'm upset.
66 Excellent Product. Nice Design.Little Size. Good Perfomance.
I think this product is excellent in some many ways:
1) You won't have problems using it with other USB devices, because it's very thin, so you won't need to unplug other connections from your PC or notebook to use it (even if you machine has USB stacked ports).
2) When you are using it, you can plug his cap behind it. This characteristic it's a very useful improve over other similar products. So it's very difficult to loose it.
3) Moreover, when you plug its cap behind it, you will increase light display when unit is in use
(this light shows you when unit is working -ready/writing data-)
4) In spite of, if you loose its cap, this product comes with two additional caps. In fact, its 3 caps are different in colors (light gray, light blue and light green).
5) In addition, it comes with a necklace if you want to use in that way (optional)
6) It has nice design, color, and performance.
7) I had used it with W2000 and it works in an excellent way. No drivers required, only plug and play.
8) You can access and reproduce directly from it, music, video and other programs, so it isn't necessary to move data from USB Drive to PC to use it.
9) It has a very reasonable price.
10) It already comes formatted in FAT mode, but you can change it to FAT32 or NTFS, this choose will depend of what kind / version of Operative System you have or use.
Because of that, I think this device works fine and it was what I was expecting of this kind of drive.
I hope these suggestions will help you to learn more about this product.

68 Linux, & mac compatability
The Sandisk 256 MB flash drive works under Linux, and Mac out of the box.. In Mandrake Linux 10.0 official it is /mnt/removable, and it automatically mounts on the desktop in Mac OSX 1.3 (panther) as "untitled"
69 Fixed my problems
This works fine now. I stuck it in before installing the win98 drivers, so I had to uninstall, take out drive then reinstall drivers (from sandisk.com) and reboot. PC still wouldnt see it. Finally figured out to go into System/Control Panel/Device Manager and click on the icon for this device and reinstall the driver. Once that happened everything worked. I have 256mb of mobile power. Awesome.
70 Not a reliable
The device worked for two weeks and stop working in a sudden. I lost all the files saved on this disk. If I have to buy another one, I wouldn't buy SanDisk.
71 I love my SanDisk drive
I got it as a present for Christmas '03 and I use it on an almost daily basis. I use it at work on a Win2K box, at school on Win2k, WinXP and Redhat Linux boxes and at home on Win2K3Server, WinXP Pro and Redhat Linux boxes and I've had flawless operations... except trying to mount it on my linux box, but I got that fig'd out pretty quick and that was my problem not a problem with the drive.
The only con about this drive is the size but I go to school with a guy who loved my 256MB Sandisk so much that he bought a SanDisk 512MB drive... and he hasn't had a single problem and he uses it just as much as I do.
Don't believe other reviews about this being a faulty product, I'm guessing it was user error that caused it by not properly removing/unmounting the drive. Great drive by a great company!
72 Good value thumb drive
This thumb drive works as well as any other.
Due to the storage manufacturer's misuse of the term 'megabyte' this device has an actual formatted capacity of 244 real megabytes (which is also true of all other "256M" flashdrive out there), so just be aware.
Also, like any other flashdrive it is only good for about 100,000 erase cycles before it gives up the ghost so don't use it for files you'll be modifying frequently each day and so I wouldn't recommend editing directly off of the drive.
Speed for this drive is average, it took a little more than a minute to fill up the entire 244MB.
Pros:
- really small! (look at your thumb, but half as fat)
- faster than a usb 1.1 drive
- no drivers needed
Cons:
- no keyring attachment
- not as fast as some other 2.0 drives
- not bootable (for me atleast...)
Bottom line: Very cheap but works as well as most other drives out there. At this price point it makes sense to buy it to just have around, because you'll never know when you'll need it =)
73 128 MB version
I have the 128 MB version and overall I think it is really great. But I will mention two things to watch out for:
1. It is a little flimsy. If the body gets hit at all, it bends, so the USB part is kind of at an angle. It still works, at least for now, but I have learned to be very careful to not touch it while it is in the port, which takes a little effort because it just sticks out, as all of these things do. But I always back up on my hard drive whatever I have on it so that if it breaks off completely I still have the data somewhere.
2. I use it to swap data between two computers. One runs on Win 98 (Work has not upgraded) and one is Win XP home version. The Win XP home I have had no problems with. It just worked, as I guess these things do with xp. On 98 I had to download a driver, which was easy to do, and the drive works most of the time. But occasionally my computer won't recognize it. I just reboot and then everything is fine. Might just be my computer, but just a warning.
But overall, I think it is a really great and indespensible piece of equipment. It is so tiny!
74 Well,
I have used SanDisk products in the past, and all I can report from experience is that SanDisk flash memory is extremely unreliable. I had purchased a 128MB SanDisk compact flash card last year and it failed after 3 months. My father's also Cruzer Mini died just last month, but I attributed it to poor disconnection or handling of the drive. I received my cruzer as a present and it worked well for me, but little did I know that I would suffer the same fate.
After pulling an all nighter to put the finishing touches on a my lab, the cruzer Mini reported an I/O error 3 hours before I had to turn it in. I immediately realized that the drive was done. I tested it on other machines only to get the device error. Drive properties showed the drive reported 0 bytes. Bad bad sign.
I lost two weeks of hardwork as well as most of my percious lab data. This drive failed me when I needed it most.
Avoid SanDisk at all costs, I should've learned the first time their products failed me.
As always, no technology is completely reliable, so BACKUP at all costs.
75 Great value in a small package
I would recommend this to anyone, it's fast and easy to use. Just plug it in and go. The best thing about this, is the value. This flash drive was the best value one I could find.
Pro:
Has 3 different color covers.
Comes with strap
Easy to use
Cons:
Body feels kind of cheap, it's only a soft plastic.
Easy to scratch paint off.
76 Does what it says it does...
Bought this device based on price. So far I have loved the convenience it has given me. Running XP Pro on on older Athlon Thunderbird system at home and had problems recognizing it on three of my five USB ports at home. All are 1.1 but three have problems... any suggestions?!?!?!? On the two 'good' ports, no problems whatsoever! FANTASTIC!!
77 YES, it does get stuck!!!!
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! It got stuck in the back of my computer after weeks of working perfectly, and, yes, I had to use pliers to pull it out! And it ripped up my USB port on the way out.
If you do a quick search on the web, you'll find that it has happened to LOTS of people!
BEWARE!
78 Wonderful little item
Love to be able to transport so much info so easily!
79 4+ months of frequent use totally trouble free
I've used my Mini Cruzer since November completely trouble free. In fact, I almost never leave home without it. I've used it on Windows XP/ 98/2000, and Mac OS X without incident. I almost exclusively use it to transfer files from my PC to Macs, which works perfectly. One caveat is that you MUST leave the drive formatted in FAT (not FAT32) to do this. I would recommend it to anyone who frequently uses multiple computers (i.e. students) or needs to move files across operating systems. It's completely eliminated my reliance on irritating zip drives/disks or oversized e-mail attachments. From the other reviews it sounds like they might be pretty hit-or-miss so maybe I got lucky. Still I wouldn't hesitate to buy one again or recommend it.
80 Not suitable for keychain use
It's fast and great but it gets scratched up immediately if you put it on your keychain. These come with a lanyard but I'm not sure who would be wearing it around his neck. The best place to put this would be with your security badge for work but I prefer to carry it on the keychain.
81 I love my Mini Cruzer
This was a christmas present from my husband and I have had absolutely NO problems with it. I am surprised to read all the reviews of people who have had miserable experiences because I use mine every day and it works perfectly.
*shrug* I have no idea how the product could be so hit and miss but I love mine so much that I am upgrading to the Titanium 512MB version.
And I find the lanyard very useful because I have attached my work badge holder to it and now it multi-tasks. :)
82 Nice Concept, Poor Execution
As much as I like the slim design of the drive(it is the only model I know that will fit on the front ports of my computer at work) and the way it looks, I won't get another of their products. I read some bad reviews before I got it, but not many enough. After a month and a half I deleted a bunch of files, but they became zero-length files and wouldn't go away. 3 of my programs all corrupted(I'm in a C class.) In frustration, I gave it another try and reformatted and put back on everything that was on there. It worked for a couple more weeks and then Windows said"This drive is not formatted. Would you like to format now?" That was when my expensive drive became an electronics experiment for me. I don't want a replacement from SanDisk, I'm just gonna get a different one, the wasted money isn't worth the lost data. Luckily, I regularly back my data up!(A hint to all)
83 Don't use CruzerLock !!
The Cruzer Mini 256 works fine, but I got in the following problem : I tested the CruzerLock software and I forgot the password. Even if you erase everything on the card, the password is not erased. According to Sandisk technical support, the password is stored in a secure area and you need the old one to retrieve it. So, if you forget your password, you will NEVER be able to use the protection ! How nice .
84 Nice when it works
Purchased first through Amazon.com. Failed to work after the first week. Spent 5 weeks waiting on a new one from SanDisk (who were very easy to deal with). Received second drive which failed after a week. Received third 5 weeks later which, too failed. Have gone with different product. Recommend you do the same.
85 Failed after 3 month
I bought this device 3 month ago and it worked fine until today. My Win 2000 PC stopped recognizing the drive and Win XP machine displayed an error "Hardware Malfunction". I tried it in 5 different computers, same problem.
I called SanDisk and they sent me a pre-paid FedEx label to ship it back. They promised to send me a new one, but my data is lost. I heard about poor quality of SanDisk products and I experience it myself.
I gave this product 2 stars for a nice design and good customer service.
86 3rd Time's a Charm?
I'm on my 3rd Cruzer Mini now, after one died and cannot be recognized after 3 months of use, and its replacement gave me the "Insert Disk" message that other people have seen.
Hits: small, slim design, fits in tight spaces, needs only LOW power and can be chained off an USB Hub. Good RMA policy & tracking process, though my first replacement was slow in coming, but the 2nd came in decent time. It comes with replacement plastic caps should you lose the original, though the replacments are just as easy to lose.
Misses: Silly necklace-thing that came with it, durability & long-term reliability. We'll see how long this will last. Performance is lower than some competitors.
Take Away: We'll see whether the Cruzer will outlast its warranty or not. SanDisk probably lost money on me with the holiday rebate and the 2 RMAs thus far.
Advice to all: whether you have this or any other USB Flash Drive, MAKE BACKUPS!!!
87 Its like a pack of gum... only... different.
I was a bit leery of this product after reading the reviews... even after I bought it I kept expecting it to die on me... or get stuck in a usb port, although i cant quite figure out how that would happen.
Been used on 11 different windows XP and 2K boxes with nary a problem. It is about the size of a 5 pack of gum, and for the price, it can't be beat.
I have used it over the last few months to transfer a few hundred files between computers. (we have some at work that we keep off the network) I also have files backed up on it.
If you have the money to get a sony vault drive, or something else, go ahead, but if not, this is a great device.
88 Small nice USB Drive
Not sure about the guy who got his "stuck" so bad he needed pliers to remove it(joke ?) But where I work we bought 12 of these. All but one are still in service. That one just stopped being reconised on any system. Sandisk Tech support was great and replaced it within a week.
89 Of course it's plastic
I've used one of these for quite a while and have exposed it to harsh conditions with no failures. Of course it will get scratched up if you put it in a pocket with you're keys... as will most anything else... and of course it's made of plastic like most of the other ones. (If you don't like plastic, they just happen to make a titanium version also) Regardless, it's been highly reliable and easier to plug in to tight spaces because of its slimmer than average size. (It even fits those silly side profile Dell front USB ports)
90 Survived Laundry
I bought this thing last year during Thanksgiving. One day I forgot to check my pockets and dropped my jeans with the Cruzer mini inside into the laundry. While moving clothes to the drier, it fell down. I was scared that I had lost all my documents inside. I cleaned it with a towel and plugged it in... voila... all documents were intact.. Certainly a great product because of all the transfers we could make without using CDs and for presentations.

91 S l oooooooo on Win Xp compared to others....
Great little device, Read speed ok (just ok) but
Write speed on Win Xp really bad - like super sloooooow....
And delete, like 6 minutes to delete 12 meg of files on it!!!
As some one else mentioned theres no problems on Win 2000, in fact its rather zippy, but Win Xp and this thing has a problem. Some friends have IBM and Kingston devices like this one - and they beat me to death, my sanDisk is SAD in comparison...
Its a bummer..
92 WHY WHY WHY?
Got this for the Holidays. Worked great on my USB1.1 interface for 2+ months. Then...I installed my new DFI mobo. Everything went fine until I tried out my Cruzer mini.
"No disk in Removable Drive G:" "The drive is not formated" "Would you like to format now?" .... NO, I DON'T WANT TO FORMAT. I WANT MY FREAKIN DATA!!! I followed the steps that call for removing a couple registry entries. Nothing. Tried the drive on 10+ computers at a local retailer. No access anywhere. I even went as far as just trying to reformat. "Drive could not be formatted" What a joke... at least I can warn others since I work in technology.
I'm so incredibly PO'd at Sandisk for making such a fragile and inconsistent piece of hardware. It's solid state memory for crying out loud! I was foolish for putting so many important files in one place for a backup. I've lost 3+ years of lab work from college, and I will never buy another device from Sandisk purely out of protest.
93 Convenient, small, all scratched up
We have the 256 MB and 128 MB versions of this product. First, the lanyard only works with a neck-strap so I took an older lanyard that hooks to my keychain. I don't know anyone who puts a jump drive around their neck. Second, the housing of the unit is scratched and pitted after only two weeks' use. Third, it gets really hot when it's in use. Not sure about that last one. Anyway if you can get this cheap, and you don't mind buying a new one next year, then go for it. Otherwise I recommend the Lexar versions whose housing takes the damage a bit more and will actually clip directly onto your keychain.
94 What I Like the Best about ScanDisk Drive!
It is a unit about the size of a 1/2 pack of gum. It actually measures 2 & 3/4 inches long, and 3/4 inches wide and 1/8 of an inch thick (measurements for you Americans). But hold on, it holds 176 floppy disks.
We first bought the Lexar jump drive, and loved it. However, on our laptop, because the USB ports were so close together, I had to remove my wireless keyboard. Not with the scandisk drive, it slim design fit with all my equipment
The ScanDisk also installed automatically, but did not put itself on my SEND TO menu like the Lexar jump drive. I had to put it on the SEND TO menu myself. It did give me a message about using an older type USB port on one of my older laptops. However, the unit still worked flawlessly on all my machines. I'm selling my zip drives on eBay this month. I now use the ScanDisk drive on all my client's machines too. Remember, no driver installation on Windows XP.
The ScanDisk drive worked better for a road warrior like me due to its ability to squeeze into smaller areas than the Lexar jump drive.
It appears like another hard drive (E drive). So I just open "My Documents" folder, hold down the ctrl key, select the files I want, click right mouse, go to SEND TO, then send to E drive. Instant backup! One of my favorite units to date, and absolutely no problems.

95 Failed on the first day
As many other reviewers I initially liked the slim design etc. But it failed doing what I bought it for, transporting data between computers.I have two workplaces and collaboration with plenty of students. The second computer I put it in gave an error message when trying to open it on the lines: "missing disk - please input disk". After a couple of retries it finally worked. Computer 3 & 4 gave the same results and now it is completely broken it seems. If theres any help on their web page I could not find it, at least I looked through the FAQ:s but nothing similar was mentioned except possible conflict with other drive, but on 4 computers? I also tried assigning a diffrent drive letter but...
96 Great
For 50.00 I find this drive to work great tigh fit into usb slot some may not like this I think the tighter the better.I have had my sandisk for 2 months no problems.
97 Mini cruzer problem
I had the same problem with Mini cruzer being stuck in my PC. I think that the slots on the usb connector are too deep due to the thicker metal used. It realy took me lot of force to get it out. Besides that everything else workrd fine.
98 UNPLUGGING ISSUE
IS OBVIOUSLY THE SAME IDIOT POSTING UNDER DIFFERENT NAMES. SAME PROBLEM POSTED SAME DATE, FROM SAME STATE. IN EVALUATING, I THINK I WOULD IGNORE THE POSTS BY PEOPLE WHO CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO UNPLUG THEIR EQUIPMENT - I MEAN, REALLY, THESE ARE THE FOLKS THAT CALL TECH SUPPORT EXTREMELY ANGRY AND THEN REALIZE THAT THEY DIDN'T TURN ON THEIR MONITOR, OR PLUG IN THEIR COMPUTER. THE PERSON IS OBVIOUSLY ANGRY ABOUT THEIR NEED FOR A BANDAID, SO THEY THOUGHT THEY WOULD POST TWO NASTY POSTS. I SEE NO SIMILAR PROBLEMS FROM ANYONE EXCEPT FOR THOSE FROM THE SAME PERSON. I THINK THE USER IS INADEQUATE, NOT THE EQUIPMENT, JUST MY HUMBLE OPINION. I HAVEN'T USED THIS YET, BUT I AM GIVING IT FIVE STARS TO COUNTERACT THE PHONEY SECOND POST FROM THE SAME PERSON.
99 Nice price, Nice equipment
For about $50, these things work great. This Sandisk Mini has a switch on the side to lock-out writing and a software application to provide secure encription for stuff you store that should not become public domain if you were to lose your flash drive....
100 great price and faultless operation.
Used to back up critical files. Does so in a "flash" (forgive the pun)
