The ImageMate 8 in 1 provides the ability to write data to and read data from flash memory without connecting your digital device (digital camera, handheld computer, digital music player, etc.) directly to a computer.
1 Discontinued Model
Don't bother buying it since it is discontinued from the manufacturer. Plus, this doesn't work out of the box. Junk.
2 Quick, easy way to transfer photos to your CPU
I own one of the older Fuji FinePix cameras. Unfortunately, I misplaced the cable that connected the camera to the computer. And since it was an older model, I was having a hard time locating a cable that fit. So, in order to retrieve my photos from the media, I would take it into the store and have it placed on disc. Very inconvenient, and although relatively cheap to get it on disc, in would have well surpassed the 19 plus dollars that it costs to get this SanDisk.

Definitely worth it's weight in gold. Now I don't have to make those extra trips to the store, and I have access to my pictures rather quickly, which in-turn frees up space on my xD card once photos are transferred over.

This piece is very simple to use. Install the included software, and plug the unit into your USB cable. Easy as that!

Also, wanted to comment that I am very pleased with the service from J&R Music and Computer World. Item arrived quickly (2 days) and was packed professionally. You won't be disappointed.
3 Elegant and highly useful product
You really can't go wrong with this reader. There are no other readers on the market that can compete with its capabilities, its quality and its price.
I have had it for a year and I use it at home, at work or when I am traveling.

What I like:
1- Portable light sturdy construction. I use it to move large files of data on a CF memory without carrying a laptop.
2- Fast data transfer with USB 2.0 connection.
3- Easy to install. Plug and play with Windows 2000 or XP (I have not tried other operating systems)
4- Stands vertically or horizontally. I was afraid it might not be stable when standing vertically, I was proven wrong. It is very stable even when you are installing/removing memory cartridges; non-slip rubber is used to prevent sliding.
5- Reads 8 different memory media. I can use my camera's CF memory, my other camera's memory stick and my Palm's SD memory all with the same device.
7- Elegant black and silver design that looks great on any desk.
8- Each slot has its own LED (small light) which indicates that the memory media has been inserted properly.

The only drawback:
1- It comes with 2 cables, one for the vertical position and one for the horizontal position. The cable for the horizontal position is really short.

4 Should have used this from the start
Leave it to the people that set the standards for removeable memory. I have messed with internal drives for two years and this beats them all hands down. Great how it assigns drive letters to each slot. Highly recommended.
5 Excellent product!
This is an excellent card reader. The base is suprisingly heavy allowing it to sit on my desk very well. Hook up and use was a breeze, even for a computer incompetent as myself!! Get one today and make your life much easier!!
6 Excellent all in one reader
I replaced two old readers with this one because I needed to upgrade to USB 2.0 and I also wanted to get rid of two seperate devices.

This one handles all the flash memory cards I currently have and is very fast.
7 Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 - some problems
I've attached the device to a USB (not 2.0) port on the computer. It worked OK as far as double-checking that some SD media was properly formatted when bought new. It's nice to have the multiple slots per memory type.

However, there are occasional "Unsafe device removal" pop-up dialog boxes from Windows. Something needs to be corrected in the hardware or software.

windowsupdate.microsoft.com indicates that my PC is up-to-date. So, that's not the fix.
8 Drive letter confusion? Nonsense.
All you have to do is open My Computer, right click on each one of the drive icons, then select "Rename" and call them whatever you want (e.g. xD Card). Problem SOLVED.
9 Works fine with XP Service Pack 2
One review of this item says it does not work with XP SP2.
In my case that is incorrect. Took it out of box, plugged it into USB2 slot and XP SP2 recognized it immediately and each slot shows up as a drive in "My Computer"
Works perfect. Highly recommended.
10 Works perfectly on my XP SP2system
Luckily I didn't read the review about this reader not working with XP SP2 before ordering this; it works fine on my system. Also, I can't remember where I read this tip, but if you run the installer (even though the instructions specifically say no drivers needed for XP), you can install a special icon displayer that shows the different card types in the My Computer window--pretty cool. So far I like this reader!
11 sp2 users BEWARE!!!!!!!
If you have Win XP sp2 DO NOT BUY ANY SANDISK READER!!!
I recieved this reader for a Christmas present2 days ago(I opened it early), and I tried to install it on my computer (win XP with service Pack 2).
It refused to install correctly so I emailed SanDisk support and they finally told me that NONE of thier memory card readers will work with sp2. The problem is that the information isn't available anywhere on thier site or in any ad!!!
Now AMAZON wants to charge me for returning this useless reader that I had no way of knowing wasn't supported on sp2.
All the info available for SanDisk readers say that they will work with Win XP and there is NO mention of sp2.
12 Speeds me up considerably
I have an Olympus C2500L camera which I like except for the fact that it doesn't have a highspeed PC connection...I had to download pictures using the SLOW serial cable (10MB of pictures took ~20 minutes). I finally bought this reader and I love it, now 10MB is less than 10 seconds.

Installation was a breeze. The installation software even informed me that the USB port I plugged into couldn't supply enough power for the reader and then identified which port I should use (I'd plugged into a 1 to 4 USB splitter which can't give it the juice it needs).

Some people complain about not being able to recognize the removable drive identifiers. When you plug a card into the reader, the drive identifier in your 'My Computer' window changes shape and lights up with small red indicator. So if you're only plugging in 1 memory card at a time, there's no guessing (it's a little more difficult when working with multiple cards at once).

The unit is:
- Stable on the desk.
- Takes up very little room
- Reads just about every memory media
- Is easy to install
- Working flawlessly
- Only costs about $20

You can't miss!
13 Warning! Beware of rebate Ripoffs by SanDisk.
I bought this product several month ago from Amazon.com. It came with a $20 rebate. I filled out the rebate exactly as described. I was told the rebate would arrive within 12 weeks. Instead I got a form letter telling me that the rebate wasn't accepted. When I called to ask why I was hung up on repeatedly. They never would give me a reason. Tech support is TERRIBLE. This company is dishonest. Avoid at all costs.
14 Great, but Died After One Year

Worked perfectly for a year, then suddenly stopped. Shipped back to SanDisk for replacement, but haven't gotten it after a month!! Just ended up buying another one, since there isn't a better alternative at this point.
15 Reads My Media Cards Fast And Dependably!
I have had this particular media card reader for many months now and I can say that after downloading a few thousand pictures through it, I have not encountered a single problem. I own three 3-year old computers; one PC uses Windows ME and the other two use Windows XP Home (service pack 2). I have used this reader with all 3 PCs and have not had an issue occur. It is well made, durable, easy to use and it reads virtually all popular camera media card formats. Also, the price is much better on it these days than when I first bought it. Get one!
16 looks good and acts fast
I wanted a card reader that I could take on the road with me and be fast at downloading from my memory cards. The bonus I got was that this product also looks OK on the desk.
I use it with xD, smart media and CF cards and all have worked flawlessly. I find downloads are quicker than my old "internal" card reader and installation was as easy as it gets for WinXP: simply plug it in and use it!
And if, like me, you get lost with the 4 resulting 'drives' that come up in your file manager and you can never remember which is which, try switching the drive letters to remind you about the memory card you're using. For example I use X: for the xD card, F: for the Flash card, etc. I know I'm dumb and that helps me remember which drive to go to every time.
Thoroughly recommended.

Happy shopping.

17 works for me
I have had this since May, plugged into my Mac G5 thru a USB 2 hub, I dont use it much but it works for me.
18 Plain Junk
The thing worked for about a week and then quit- Some cards read and others don't. I had to quit using it altogether. I have had good luck with SanDisk products in the past but this one is a bomb. Buy something else.
19 worked for while
I purchsed the reader from Costco about 5 month ago. I been using Lexar 512M CF and 256M kingston cards. It worked fine most of the time, once in while power LED goes off and had to wiggle the cable to make it work, until last week. The LED wouldn't come on and reader is not recognized, so I retruned to costco and got my money back (good thing it was from Costco). I als but sandisk 256mb USB2.0 key and that also failed on me. so far Sandisk makes good POS that has failed 2/2.
20 Works Like a Champ.
I am using this on WinXP. The "docking station" is pretty much useless, though.
21 Would not work for me
It did not work for me...possibly because I have Win. 98 SE. San Disk's tech support spent some time trying to help. Some possible reasons they gave for the problem were: I was using Win.98SE, using a USB hub, USB problems, fluctuation in electricity. Perhaps a friend may be able to use this card reader.
22 I like it.
I hated that I had a bunch of cables constantly connected to my PC for our various digital imaging devices and flash drives. I bought this to improve clutter, and make it easy for everyone to download or upload files/photos.

I can understand why anyone with an OS lower than XP might have difficulties installing this - it's relatively new technology after all. I installed it on Windows XP and it was really a breeze to get it up and running.

I've also managed to get rid of all the cables and uploading and downloading files is fast and easy. Well worth the money because the hassles have been greatly reduced.

23 must have for ultra II compact flash
I just started using this product and it is a fast reliable memory reader supporting all types of memory cards. I bought this mainly for my Ultra Flash II CF cards and it is faster than I can ever imagine downloading my images. It is also a reasonable priced item.

Only disapointment is that each slot has seperate drivers E: F: G: H: I: etc which is confusing.

But overall,
MUST HAVE ITEM!!!
24 Great Card Reader - great price
I was tired of connecting my camera direct to the PC, so I looked into card readers. The SanDisk went to the top of my list after reading numerous reviews. With Windows XP, you just plug it in and it immediately finds and installs the device. The card reader slots each show up as their own drives. From there, it is just drag and drop files.

I found the device easy to use, it looks nice, and the price is great for an 8-in-1 reader. The unit also comes out of the stand so you can connect the reader to a laptop (a short USB adapter cable is provided if you use it this way). My camera uses Compact Flash cards, so that is the only type of card I have used so far. But with USB 2.0, the transfers are incredibly fast. Best of all - I now save my rechargeable camera batteries for actually taking pictures instead of powering downloads. I'm not sure how I worked so long without a card reader. I highly recommend this device.
25 A Possible Solution To Windows PCs Freezing Up
In regard to some earlier posts in reference to their computers freezing up I maybe able to shed some light of the subject. When I bought the San Disk 8-in-1 Card Reader it installed with no problemo under my Windows XP [built] system.

I started having problems as soon as I inserted cards for the device to read. My screen would blank out and my computer would re-boot. Everytime I tried to insert and use a Secure Digital [SD] or Compact Flash {CF} card I would get the same result over and over with a black screen and re-boot.

So I called San Disk for tech support and they asked me if I had Norton AntiVirus installed on my machine. I said that I did and they said that more than likely I needed to disable a "scan removable media" option from Norton AntiVirus. I unchecked this option and sure enough the San Disk card reader works without a hitch. What is happening [according to San Disk] is that Norton AntiVirus is looking to scan your card slots/ports for viruses when you mount a card into one of the slots and that can cause various PC machines to CRASH!

Now because I have Norton SystemWorks 2003 [with Antivirus] on my machine, I can take you through the steps. But if you have a stand-alone version of Norton AntiVirus your menu navigation may be different but I'm sure you can burrow through the options and follow me with my demostration below:

First, launch Norton SystemWorks and wait for the Norton SystemWorks pop-up menu to appear.

Second, at the top on the horizontal menu click the big yellow "Options" button and from the mini pulldown menu you want to select "Norton AntiVirus".

Third, a "Norton AntiVirus Options" dialog box will appear. On the left hand side at the very top of the vertical navigation menu pane click on "Auto-Protect" and under its pulldown menu choose "Advanced".

Fourth, to the right of the navigation menu pane you will see a sub-heading called "What activities to monitor when using floppy disks". Under that UNCHECK "SCAN ALL REMOVABLE MEDIA FOR BOOT VIRUSES EVERYTIME IT IS MOUNTED". Click "OK" to exit the dialog box and close the previous one under that, too.

Once the above option is UNCHECKED, then this may solve your crashing/freezing up problem. If it does then that's great! But be CAUTIOUS now because you have disabled auto-protect for removable media. This means that you must be careful that your media cards are VIRUS FREE when you insert them into the card reader. So be warned when borrowing your friend's or family's cards and can't verify what content is on them.

I hope this helps someone.

26 Nothing but PROBLEMS !
This Sandisk Reader freezes my computer everytime I plug in a memory card to download. I thought it might be my computer so I reloaded the drivers and tried again. Same problem ! I thought it might be my ME operating system so I tried it on an XP computer. Same problem ! I called Sandisk and they said they would send me a FEDEX box to return it in. That was 8 days ago and still no return box. They also said it would take 7 -10 after they got it back. It looks like I'm looking at being without a memory card reader for at least a month. Next time I'm not buying electronics mail order. I'm buying from a local store where I can return the piece of junk the next day and buy one that works so I can get on with my life.
27 Does the job, but...
This device does everything it says it does, which in itself sets it apart from a lot of low-priced PC gadgets on the market. It has a few annoying qualities that will eventually lead me to replace it, though. While no claims are made to the contrary (in other words, had I done my homework, I wouldve known this before I bought it), the device does not install as a permanent drive. So, you permanently have a little 'remove hardware safely' icon in the system tray. No big deal, I suppose. The different card readers show up in your 'My Computer' folder as separate drives. Since they are not viewed as permanent drives, you cannot assign them each a name (ie: CF Drive, etc), but must remember which letter is which drive. Again, not that big a deal, but I would prefer a permanent solution. Well, for $20, what do you expect?

My PC does not have USB 2.0, so I cant take advantage of the best speed available on this device. Works fine w/ USB 1.1, well within my expectations, speed-wise.

Bottom line- good, not great device. Does what I need, and is a good value for the price paid.
28 Works flawlessly
I got this reader to read my Compact Flash, IBM Microdrive, Secure Digital, and XD cards. I've had it for a few months now and it has transfered all my image and video files from all my cards without any trouble at all.

The nice thing also is that it doesn't require any drivers - just plug it in and it's ready to go. Has lots of pretty LED lights too!

It adds 4 drive letters to your computer. Unfortunately they only have generic names ("Removable Disk" in WinXP). The manual tells you which slot each drive letter refers to, though. It also came with some bundled software (Adobe Photoshop Album) but I haven't tried it.

The docking base has a cable that is approximately 42 inches long. It also comes with a USB cable that's like 3 inches so you can hook up the reader to a laptop without using the docking base.

It's definitely a very handy reader. The fact that it can read 8 types of cards seemed like overkill to me at first, but when I got a new camera that required Secure Digital cards, I was relieved that I didn't have to purchase an extra card reader.

29 True Plug-and-Play
I have had ZERO problems out of this reader over nearly a year. Truly a plug-n-play device, it requires no drivers and no special software. Just plug it in and BAM! 4 new flash drives show up in a matter of seconds. Don't be fooled by other card readers that claim to read 100&1 cards -- there really only 5 standard card types out there. Many cheaper readers share one or more of the slots, so that only one or two cards are usable at any one time. This reader allows you to read/write all 4 card types at one time (of course, speed drops dramatically). I can't say I've seen true USB2.0 speed, but that may be in the cards rather than the reader. It IS many times faster than my old USB1.1 reader. Even the stand is useful. My only complaints are that the stand could be a little heavier (more stable) and they could have made the plug on the unit a standard "A"-type USB connector for direct plug into a front slot without the "dongle" cable -- but that's nothing I can't deal with for a device that functions so well. You won't be disappointed.
30 Great time saver
After connecting a digital camera to the PC many times, I purchased the 8 in 1 card reader. Not only does it save time, but it aloows the camera to be used for just taking pictures instead of using it as a card reader. I would recommend this to anyone using memory cards for digital photography.
31 such a bargain!
Even if you only have one digital camera, it's wise to get this 8-in-1 reader, because you never know when a friend might stop by with some photos - and this friend may be less than technically savvy and be too inept to burn you a CD.

I got this solely to preserve the battery life of my camera when I plugged it in and launched iPhoto (I am a Mac user)... but it is also lightning fast - so much faster than my camera in downloading photos. Looking at the blow-up of the product photo, it looks like it has 4 slots, but each slot accommodates more than one memory stick/card.

This USB powered device doesn't suck too much juice out of your CPU and doesn't require yet another available plug.

The price for such a reliable, versitile reader just can't be beat!

32 The ultimate card reader...until next year's model comes out
Having run the gauntlet for two years, looking for a multi-format card reader that actually works with a wide range of Operating Systems, I happened upon the SanDisk 8-in-1 USB 2.0 Memory Card Reader (SDDR-88). After all of the poor engineering, meaningless advertisements and unfulfilled warranties offered by the competition; I give this manufacturer and product two thumbs-up, five stars, and a genuine, "WOW!"

Linux, OS-X, win-whatever and even DOS (certain restrictions apply, YMMV) can utilize this card reader without major issues. I have yet to run into a problem with a wide range of memory card brands and capacities, and love this thing so much that I went out and bought a second one to take with me to customer sites.
Loading OS disk images from Compact Flash, or booting and installing Linux from CF instead of 3 CDs, is literally a productivity-boosting dream come true.

My earlier hardware revision SDDR-88 reader (Part #:20-90-00089) did die on me, and SanDisk had no problem with replacing the unit--post haste. Never a problem with the later hardware revision readers (Part #:20-90-00114). I love a manufacturer who stands behind their products!

I, too, found the supplied laptop cable to be somewhat short for use on the road; so, having 2 of the docking stations, I disassembled the second stand (4 - Phillips #1 screws under the rubber pads on the bottom), removed the cord (2 - internal Phillips #0 screws), and trimmed-off the strain reliefs.
Perfect two-minute solution!

File transfers are lightning-fast and free of data corruption. The reader is small and light enough to store in a flash media wallet, with the associated cabling, and loads of memory cards; being far less bulky than the stack of CDs normally required for customer-support tasks.

SanDisk has a winner with this one...and a loyal customer.

33 Great, but problematic install
While installing on WinME, my comp didn't have three necessary files, so it got quite messed up when I tried to continue without the files. It went into safemode and I couldn't for the life of me get out of it. Ended up having to restore system settings to a previous time and downloading each file from the web before installing it again. Worked well after that, except it took over some drive designations, so I had to figure out which letter went to which device. Each of the four slots in the reader has its own drive letter, which is handy, although creates more clutter on the desktop (especially when you have drives from C to O like me).

I use compactflash, SD, and memorysticks, so this device takes away a lot of cords and creates a great all in one station. Now I won't have to use up the battery in any of my gadgets to download or upload files. It can also be undocked from the cradle to be taken around with your laptop. It's fast, has a small footprint, and has decent aesthetics.

Overall a good buy. If I didn't have the install problems I'd give it 4 or 5 stars.

34 Elegant solution to a problem
This works really well. It is small, but easy to use. Having a base with a detachable reader really solves the portable vs. usable for a desktop design tradeoff. The base holds it up and makes inserting cards easy, while the reader itself comes off for travel or to use with a laptop. No power cords, either, as it is powered from the USB port.

Under Windows XP, it requires no drivers, which was an unexpected, but very nice feature. My old reader required driver installations, which is a hassle when using it on multiple computers, or the ones at work.

Highly recommended!

35 Wonderful little thing
Very nicely designed. Rubber grips in all the right places to prevent it from sliding on your desk. Small and lightweight, something you could really take on a trip. The travel USB cable is indeed too short (about 20 cm or 7 1/2 in, plugs included), but it'll do. It can handle more memory card formats than I knew existed. It's totally plug-and-play (no software installation if you use a relatively recent version of Windows or OS X). Just in case you were wondering, it is powered from the USB port. And something that I didn't expect, the included CD-ROM contains a copy of Adobe Photoshop Album SE, which is a cute piece of software.
36 Works like a charm
In my opinion this is the best memory card reader you could get. The price at Amazon is a good deal, plus with the free shipping you won't make a mistake. Here is the summary:

Pros:
1. It looks elegant. The colour combination of silver and black makes it look like a serious tool you could display even in an office environment.
2. Comes with a bonus stand to enable the display at an upright position. Saves space in a cluttered environment.
3. Comes with another USB cable to you could position it horizontally (flat) on a table. You will have to keep the stand, in this case.
4. USB 2.0 speed which means faster transfer speed.
5. No drivers needed if you use the latest Windows XP or Mac OS X operating system. I use the Mac and there is nothing to install.
6. 8 in 1 memory card reader. Try finding that in othe products at that price and design. You connect as much memory cards that could fill the slot and they will appear individually in your desktop. This means you can transfer files between memory cards without having to transfer and use your desktop as a holding place.
7. Each slot has its own individual lights to indicate correct installation and file activity transfer.
8. Light and portable.

Cons:
1. Light - plastic construction. Feels fragile, but I guess SanDisk knows better on making it sturdy.
2. The cable for the bonus stand is long, but the extra cable supplied to lay the product flat is short - and I mean short! This is a plus for those who bring this with their portable computers and don't need the extra long cable. A big minus for those who wish to forego the stand, but decide to use with their desktop on a desk. You will need to connect it to a hub if your USB plug is nowhere close.

All in all a great buy for the price.

37 All in one and Super Fast
This multi card reader is an awesome deal. The best part about this reader is the speed. I upload a 512mb Sony Memory Stick in LESS then 2 minutes. You could never do that with the older memory stick readers. With XP, the system recognized the device immediately. Had no problem and installed it in less then 5 mintues. You can get right to work with this product. Super deal and super product. SanDisk has come a long way for the better. Highly recommended.
38 Very Compatable
I was pleased to find this reader worked well with many brands of media. I can simultaneously read and copy between: A 3 year old Canon MMC card, 2 year old Olympus SmartMedia, and new Canon & Lexar(128MB) CF cards. It was plug-and-play with Mac OS 10.3.3, and iPhoto opens right up when you insert a card. The reader didn't like being plugged into the USB 1.0 port on the keyboard, but it works great when plugged into the USB 2.0 port on the G5.
39 Stable, Fast, and Easy to use
I have used several different card readers. This has been the most stable of all of those I have used. With the USB 2.0 connection data transfers quickly. I have used it with four different types of cards and it has worked well with all of them.
40 Drive icons
If you install the driver (also if you run Windows ME/2000/NT), then each driver letter will get its unique icon so you can easily see which driver letter(s) to open to access the memory card(s) that you inserted!
41 Works Great First Time and Every Time
This is one of the few gadgets around that works the first time you use it. Windows XP recognized its presence almost immediately. Insert a memory card, and a file pops up on your monitor. Click on it and you're in. Another way is to go into the MY COMPUTER icon and there you will see 4 removable disk icons. The hard part there is guessing where the memory card is at. I tried renaming the four drive icons, but it won't take. Just a minor inconvenience, really. With USB 2, read and write is very fast. I like the stand, but you can detach the reader from that stand, plug in the short USB cord, and you have a pocket-sized memory card reader/writer. I use it not only for pictures, but for storing documents.
42 Everything you could want
This read works wondefully. First off, don't underestimate the importance of a USB 2.0 connection. That alone makes it about 40 times faster than USB 1.0 and 1.1 card readers.

I have a Samsung SPH-i600 that I transfer mp3s and mpgs to. Before it would take about 30 seconds to transfer a single 4MB song. Now I can transfer about fifteen 4MB songs in 30 seconds. It makes a world of difference.

Also, it is very easy to setup if you have Windows XP. All you do is literally plug it in, wait about 30 seconds for the drivers to automatically install, and then you are done.

I couldn't ask for anything more.

43 Must-Have Item!
This is definately a must have item if you take a lot of digital pictures with your camera. I like it so much that I bought one for a friend.

I currently run Windows XP.

Pros-
1. Lightening quick speeds- I am a big big fan of USB 2.0 technology. The transfer speeds are just awesome. I have a built in CF reader in my multifunction printer. It takes about 5 minutes for the transfer, while it only takes approx. 45 secs for the same transfer with this Sandisk Reader. Just make sure that your USB ports are 2.0 compatible.
2. It's capable of reading a number of types of memory.
3. sleek design.

Cons-
1. quite possibly cost. I am sure that many of you will think that it is not worth the additional bux and that is probably what you are contemplating the most. "Do I really went to spend money on an item that would be nice to have, but something that I really dont need?"
If you take a decent amount of digital pictures, then get it. This is one item where I have not had any buyer's remorse. It's a great product that delivers as promised.
2. As with any other USB peripheral, you have to "remove the Hardware" before pulling the plug out of the port. The icon is on your desktop, on the lower right hand side of your screen.

44 Works flawlessly
This is the second Sandisk memory card reader I've bought. (The first one was a 6-in-1 reader.) Both have worked flawlessly. Since my computer runs Windows XP, there were no drivers to install, and the computer recognized the reader instantly.

The USB 2.0 interface is a great feature, as it is much quicker than older USB 1.0 devices. I have a 512MB Compactflash card, and transfer times are very fast. In comparison, a USB 1.0 keychain flash drive I purchased is much slower.

The only minor gripe I have is that installing the reader puts four "removable drive" icons in your My Computer folder. The only way to tell which drive has the memory card in it is by clicking on each icon. Annoying until you memorize which drive corresponds to Compactflash, SD, etc.

45 Works great!
I had another combo reader before that could not read CF Cards above 32Mb. So I had to buy another reader. Since this was on sale, I decided to give this one a try since it was compatible with both the older and newer USB standards. I have the old standard but plan on upgrading my computer soon.

It works great with the old USB (I assume it will also work w/USB 2.0). And it can read my 256Mb CF Card.

I had to install it twice. I guess it didn't like the slot that I first installed it in. But after removing the hardware and reinstalling it in another USB slot, it worked great!

I highly recommend it.

46 Great product - works like a chram
I got this last week and worked without a problem on Windows XP professional and Windows 2003 server. It creates 4 devices for each media format.

Copying the file is a breeze. Make sure you connect the device to USB 2.0 port.

47 Works Great
I needed a card reader for the proprietary XD memory used in my digital camera so I bought this reader. It is a great value for this price because it reads 8 different formats of memory cards. Great if you use several formats of memory cards or have friends with other cards.

It hooks up via a USB docking station and is backward compatible with the older USB standard. It also comes with a short USB connector if you do not want to carry around the docking station. It just plugs and plays in Windows XP. It creates 4 removable disks in my computer for each memory format because there is 4 slots and each slot fits 2 different memory formats. This makes it possible to move data from one format to another very easily with some obvious limitations.

Quote of the Day:

That, that is, is.

That, that is not, is not.
That, that is, is not that, that is not.
That, that is not, is not that, that is.

If there is a possibility of several things going wrong,
the one that will cause the most damage will be the one to go wrong.

If you perceive that there are four possible ways in which a procedure
can go wrong, and circumvent these, then a fifth way will promptly develop.
