1 Well Worth the Money
After a lot of research I was stuck between Cruzer Titanium and Apacer Handy Steno HT203. My main preference was performance and design. Both of these flash drives are great in terms of no issues of losing caps. Titanium was a bit expensive but finally I got a very good deal at staples and bought it out for $40. Some users expreienced some issues that I didn't, mainly 1)It worked for me in all USB ports for my computer (I have front ones too), 2) As per arstechnica.com this drive is not bootable, but I was able to make it bootable and was able to boot. I used the known HP utiltiy; you do need a version of DOS so do make a DOS diskette handy, 3) Although the included software for synch and backup was trial initially, Sandisk has made it free and full functional in the new version for Cruzer titanium drives and believe me all three included utilities are worth the money. Moreover the software can also sych files and folders other than outlook in new version. The included keychain was a bit difficult to stuck in and I did scratch the drive a bit while doing that. Performance wise the drive ran three times faster on my machine compared to my friend's 1GB Apacer Handy Steno HT203. I cannot comment on the reliability of the drive as its too early for me, but you do get 5 years of warranty. Overall I am happy.
2 Believe the bad reviews
You should believe the bad reviews on this product. I took a chance because I loved the design. Bad mistake.
I needed the piece of junk at a customer site and it let me down after less than six months of owning it and light use. It just stopped working. There was no possibility of recovery. It never went near a magnetic field -- I was very careful.
SanDisk can count on me never buying their products again!
3 Great little USB drive
So far this is a great little drive. It's much smaller then some other USB drives that I've seen, and the capacity is great at 512 meg. I've had it since December 2004 so I'm on month 4, we'll see if it quits working as others have said, but so far I love it.
The only minor complaint that I have, ok actually 2 very minor things.
1. The ring that attaches to the end of the unit where you clip on the strap was EXTREMELY annoying to get on the device. In fact if you look at the pictures the one where it shows the ring, you can tell that that user also had to stretch the ring out quite a bit to get it in place. I had to use several tools to wedge it into the small space and spin it around to get it into place.
2. The slide mechanism seems to be a little difficult to use. Although this seems to have loosened up a bit through use, when I first got it I had to use two hands to extend the USB connector. But I do really love the ability to retract the connector.
So long as it doesn't die on me, I do reccommend this drive.
4 high price per Mb, but nice
I've been using the cruzer USB key drive for a few months now and it has served me well so far. It's sort of crazy that people are complaining about attaching the key ring; this only takes about 30sec if you have any competence with tools (i.e. a pair of needle nose pliers).
One odd thing is that it gets pretty warm if you leave the drive plugged in too long (a few hours). I'm not sure if this is because of the blue led on top, or due to the actual memory circuits. There doesn't seem to be any functional consequences to the heat build-up, but it probably doesn't do good things for the longevity of the drive.
Bottom line: It looks cool and works well.
5 Don't buy it just because it looks pretty
Don't let the so called titanium case and the sliding feature suckered you into buying one of these. They're guaranteed to break within 6 months of purchase. I didn't believe the reviews and bought one 5 months ago. And as guaranteed, it broke yesterday with no apparent reason. The files stopped transferring, the light stopped lighting up, and if you tired to format it, it would go completely dead. Save your money, go buy some other flash drive, there are actually other hard drives out there which stores twice as much at half the price. Don't let the sliding feature lure you, it's a moving part, after you sliding it in and out so many times, it'll eventually stop working just like everyone else's flash disk here.
6 Quit Working in Just 80 days!
Well, after reading the reviews - both good and bad - I took the chance and purchased a 512 MB Cruzer Titanium in late Nov. 2004. It worked fine through the first week of Feb. 2005. It was really fast and I liked the "slide away connector". I used it at both work and home. Then, it started "disconnecting" when I tried to read or write files to/from it. After a couple days of erratic use it quit responding at all. The problems occurred regardless of which PC I connected it to. Now, I have a device with more than 250 MB of data on it (both home and work information) and I have no way of getting this data off of it. I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER! - too many reviewers saying similar NEGATIVE things. Be forwarned - don't use this as your only place to store files. BE EVEN SMARTER: DON'T BUY A TITANIUM CRUZER AT ALL! I'll see how helpful Sandisk's tech support people are. UPDATE 2/26/05: Several exchanges with Sandisk support tech resulted in the issuing of a return authorization number. They will pay for the return (FedEx). Sandisk has ignored my question of what they will do with the data on the drive. UPDATE 5/5/05: Around the first week of March 2005 I received a replacement Cruzer from SanDisk. It seemed to work fine, and I thought that the failure of the first one must have been just bad luck. But, 6 weeks later the 2nd Cruzer also failed. I had been very gentle with this one - no dropping, careful inserting/removing from USB port, etc. One day in mid-April it just stopped working. Nothing. I tried it on 3 different PCs with no luck. So, here I go again, several weeks of working my way through the SanDisk replacement procedure. I've asked for my money back, but so far they've responded with a standard "We regret any inconvenience you may have felt, however, SanDisk's warranty policy is Return and Replace.". My advice: stay far away from the Titanium Cruzers.
7 Do Not Waste Your Money
I purchased 3 Cruzer Titaniums back in Oct 2005. The one I use quit working after only a month. I spent two weeks trying to convince SanDisk Tech Support that I knew how to operate a computer before they decided the device was defective and would replace it. I returned the product via Fedex 3 weeks ago. No response from SanDisk. Just a black hole. No money, no product, no warranty. I will never buy a SanDisk product again!
8 Fast, but man small design flaws
I just picked one of these drives up this weekend instead of a 1gb flash drive because I wanted a drive that would be sturdy more than I wanted the extra capacity. It definitely feels sturdy and is more important to me than the design issues that are present on these drives. The only drive that appears like it matches up in durability in my web site evals was the Lexar Sport drives. Ultimately, my decision came down to not having to deal with a cap that I'd end up misplacing (I'm not terribly organized).
Pros:
1. Feels like an industrial strength key drive - I don't worry about breaking it
2. Fast, fast, fast
3. Looks cool, unlike my old Lexar (which also looked and felt so flimsy I never took it anywhere - glad it was free)
Cons (in order of annoyances):
1. Extending and retracting the USB plug is difficult. I've found that if you use your fingernail and apply a very slight pressure on the slide, that it will extend w/out much effort. Retracting, is a little more difficult, same trick with the fingernail, but also a little pressure on the plug will get it on it's merry way. Forget using your thumb to open and close it, too much pressure, too little pressure, whatever, it just won't work for me.
2. It's impossible to get the keyring on the drive without using some sort of tool. I used the belt clip to help open the keyring to get it on the drive. In the process of putting the keyring on however, I did put numerous small scratches on the drive - not a big deal to me, but annoying as I'd only owned it for 15 minutes by then (10 of which were spent putting the keyring on!).
3. CruzerLock is useless and a pain to use, for those looking for a good free (relatively transparent) encryption program, download TrueCrypt from Sourceforge (Google for it, Amazon doesn't like URLs in reviews)
4. Other than CruzerLock the other included software is trial only. The product description pretty clearly says this, but the physical package only mentions what software is included, not that some of it is trial only.
9 Avoid this Product
I agree with Ordonez below: this product will stop working for no apparent reason. I believed the hype and went ahead and purchased it. After a few week it was like ..wham.. no longer working. The computers do not even recognize the product, the blue light doesnt come on..nothing. I contacted sandisk for a replacement and they have not replied since. It just doesn't make any sense. This is how bad rep starts with a company product; word of mouth from disgruntled customers. However I will try to contact them again
10 Indestructible, perhaps, but also a destroyer.
Looks like Sandisk and Amazon are dropping this particular Sandisk jump drive. Moreover, it's priced higher than even some higher-capacity, smaller Sandisk drives. Sandisk had attempted to "justify" the higher price on the basis of the gizmo's aesthetic appearance (presumably its brushed metallic looks and ocean-blue light will make you the envy of your office mates) and durability (it supposedly will withstand 2000 pounds of pressure, a selling point for those who have a habit of driving their vehicles over their flash drives).
Those claims didn't sway me as much as the drive's 1. larger size (I've lost too many tiny Lexars already--my previous Cruzer was twice the size of this one, and it performed flawlessly for over a year, before I lost even it) and 2. capless, retractable design (if you don't lose one of those other drives, give the cap a couple of months at best).
I used a USB extension cord with my previous model--probably less likely with this one, though I do notice that it's not quite slim enough to permit placement alongside a similar drive in my notebook's USB ports.
Sandisk throws in a neckstrap with the device. A nice touch, if you're into jewelry or tired of the open-shirt dragon-tooth look. On the other hand, it takes ingenuity, will power and superhuman finger-nail strength to attach the strap to the unit. The same is true of the included pocket clip. I managed to wedge it into place, then decided to remove it, losing two thumbnails and scratching the Titanium surface and logo in the process. I hope Sandisk irons out these problems with their Taiwan manufacturers--or at the very least addresses them in the enclosed instructions (extremely spartan) or on on their website.
11 Avoid this product
I bought 3 of this usb devices in less than a month. 1 of them stop working without any reason after 2 days of usage. I don't want a replacement, I want a refound. Kinsgton is a better product, buy that mark.
12 Worth every penny.
The Sandisk Cruzer Titanium works great. It's fast, reliable and very durable. I've had mine for a couple of months and it's worked in every USB port (1.0 or 2.0) that I've tried it in. I had one scare, however: one time it failed to be recognized when I plugged it in. The problem turned out to be that the actual USB connector had not been fully extended. You have to make sure that it clicks when extending it to make sure that the connection is made. Great product!
13 Fast, Strong, 512 mb
Great USB key - my only complaint (In retrospect I would have given it a 4, not 5 star review) is its size. Other keys of equal memory are often much smaller but what this key lacks in portability (not much), it makes up for in strength. It almost seems indestructible. It really feels solid but don't believe the whole "titanium" thing. If it is titanium at all, it's an extremely thin layer. The transfer speeds are great and the included software is nice, though one of the three programs is only a trial and another, the CruzerLock 1.0 program, has since been updated to the more feature rich and more secure 2.0, found free on Sandisk's website. Another nice feature is the lack of a cap. The slider takes a tiny bit of getting used to but there's nothing to lose. So far, I'm very happy.
*Update*
Since writing this reveiw, the drive started to malfunction for unknown reasons. I used Sandisk's tech support website section and within one day had shipping paid for by them to send it back for a replacement. While the support was good, the fact that it broke at all adds to my wish to change this to a 4 star rating.
14 Lasted One Whole Week
I just returned the unit for a full refund. After having my SanDisk for one week, it failed to read on more than one pc. Oddly, the unit had a burn like smell when I laid it to rest. Looks like Kingston will be getting my business instead. Oh well...
15 Short life span
I liked the fact that it was retractable and small. I kept it clipped to my key chain and used it for work. However after 6 months it stopped working. Scandisk agreed to replace the item if the original was returned in one piece. Unfortunately the original contains confidential work files. I offered to send it back in several pieces so the information could not be accessed. Scandisk said it had to be in one piece even though they said they were just going to destroy it. Scandisk offered to allow me use of rescue software for a price to remove the files. It will probably be cheaper and less hassle to just buy another USB flashdrive from another company.
16 Bad drivers and bad tech support
My experience has been basically the same as Rick's - I've spent hours with 2 of these things trying to get them to work. In XP, every once in a while if I jump through enough hoops I can get it recognized. But take it out once and it's back to square one. Oddly enough it actually plays when I plug it into a WinMe copmuter, every time.
I wouldn't wish one of these on anyone. I have a 128 MB KingMax I bought to tide me over until I got the Cruzer working (ha!) and still use it every day. It is recognized instantly in every (WinMe and up computer) I plug it into.
17 Impressive Flash Drive!
Though it is much more expensive than a comparable flash drive with 512 MB of memory, you get what you pay for - stylish body, slide-out USB connector, fast read/write, and all in all great design.
This is my first USB drive, and I didn't want one with a cap. It seemed impractical to me - it's one more piece to keep track of. This drive not only incorporates the USB connector into the body via the sliding action, but also protects it - though dust can get into it, it can't easily be broken off. Also, unless you don't use it for a year and the dust accumulates into an intolerably large glob, the dust can easily be blown out before you use it.
The body is light, but feels sturdy. When it is plugged in, it glows blue, which I think is cool. My one complaint is that it is very (I repeat, very) difficult to get the key ring around the end - this is done so that it can be attached to a lanyard, or another keychain.
Sandisk has done a great job! I would recommend this drive to anyone willing to make a small investment in a better drive. The difference in quality between this and Sandisk's other Cruzers is noticable.
18 Really Nice USB Flash Drive
I've been using USB Flash Drives for the past three years. This is the third USB drive I've purchased, as they have a rough life on my keychain. Both of the previous drives were plastic, so it wasn't long before they started to show wear.
The first drive was still serviceable, but was just outgrown. The second drive was getting way too worn where the keychain clip attached to the lid of the drive and was in danger of disappearing one day. I've had my new Titanium drive for a few months now and it overcomes both of these problems. It's the best drive I've owned yet. The Cruzer Ti. still looks "new" after getting beaten around for a few months and 512MB is plenty of space for all of my files. The included app. is nice for hotsyncing your Outlook info and taking it with you. Also, not being able to loose the USB cap is a nice feature.
19 Testing: 512 MB Cruzer Titanium is NOT blazingly fast.
It's been two years that I own a 256MB USB 2.0 Flash drive, which is called Pen Drive (manufactured by somebody called "Add On Technology"). It is reasonably fast, but I wanted even faster (and with a larger capacity) drive. SanDisk has been claming that Cruzer Titanium is the fastest USB flash drive in the world, so I bought it, and tested against the Pen Drive. I was using a new Dell computer and a USB 2.0 port.
First, I copied a directory FROM hard drive to each of USB drives. The directory contains 35 megs of data in 251 files, mostly *.pdf and *.html files. The results are:
Cruzer Titanium - 97 seconds, Pen Drive - 140 seconds.
Writing this directory back TO hard drive:
Cruzer Titanium - 7 seconds, Pen Drive - 9 seconds.
Again, I copied a 7.2 megs directory that contains 905 short *.wav files FROM hard drive:
Cruzer Titanium - 134 seconds, Pen Drive - 212 seconds.
Finally, I copied this directory back to hard drive. Both Cruzer Titanium and Pen Drive did it in about 7 seconds.
It appears that Cruzer Titanium writes about 50% faster, and reads anywhere from 0% to 30% faster. Frankly speaking, I was hoping for a more convincing victory over a 2 year old competitor. (And then, I found out that the new Pen Drive models claim even faster speeds than Cruzer Titanium, for the same money). As for usability, the Cruzer Titanium's sliding mechanism in not very convenient. Also, Cruzer Titanium does not come with a short USB cable as Pen Drive does. Still, I hope that Cruzer Titanium will be the same reliable as Pen Drive.
20 Great flash drive
Pros:
* very fast USB 2.0 compatible
* large capacity drive
* retractable port, no cap to lose
* virtually indestructable titanium case
* cool blue activity light
* security, backup and synch software included
Cons:
* titanium body scratches easily
* software does not work on Macs
Though I bought it for the security that doesn't work on my notebook, its a great flash drive. If you have a Windows machine, this should be a great purchase.
21 Mixed bag of goods and bads
This is a nice drive overall, but I have some issues with it. First to the positive points: (1) very fast USB 2.0 transfers; faster than other USB 2.0 flash drives, and (2) good looking design.
The problems I've had with this drive are that (a) It takes a lot of force and a lot of time to insert the little key chain ring into this drive, and in the process you are going to hurt your fingers and nails, and scratch the drive. I had to resort to using pliers! and (b) After about 6 months of usage, the USB connector sliding mechanism became loose, which means that the metal USB connector was always "out" or just freely going up and down depending on how you held the drive. Sandisk replaced the unit for me after 2 weeks and paid for shipping. I will see how long the new one lasts.
Overall it seems like the designers of this drive had only two things in mind: raw performance, and looks. In these areas the drive excels. But in ergonomics if you want to use it on your key chain, it's terrible. And prolonged usage causes the USB connector to come loose which means you have to push the drive into a USB port while forcing the USB connector out and holding it there.
22 This Is SO Excellent A Product!
I bought this out of necessity. What I needed was a convienent and easy way to copy/move data between my 3 computers. The only way before this was for me to burn data to a cd and that was a tiresome process. One of my computers has a zip drive but neither of the other two do. Each computer 'does' have a floppy drive, but everyone knows that a floppy disk holds only 1.44 MB of anything. (Really, only text files are good for use with a floppy drive; a lot of text can be stored on a floppy). The 512 megabytes on this is a very capacious amount of storage space and 'probably' more than the average person would need in casual usage. Also, using bigger external hard drives can be awkward, cumbersome and a little time-consuming 'especially' between '3' computers. This little portable storage device has worked perfectly with all 3 of my computers. I have moved some music files, digital pictures, text files and even a couple of big applications between the 3 computers using this product and it has gratified me to be able to do that. Two of my computers use Windows XP (service pack 2 installed) and the other uses Windows ME and both operating systems "recognized" the Cruzer Titanium immediately and without incident. I would also like to report that my sandisk cruzer titanium accidentally "bounced" down a flight of hardwood stairs and was not any the worse for it. Seems to be well-made. That is about all I know to tell you about this product. I would say get one if you have 2 or more computers to use with it and you deal with a lot of files much of the time.
This was an excellent purchase for myself!
23 convenient flashdisk
I just purchased this item recently, and I have to say it's pretty convenient for storage and transferring between PCs and Macs. I'm a grad student and I work with a lot of data between different computers. My own laptop is Windows 98 1st edition but I downloaded the 98 SE drive and the flashdisk works fine. I also work on Mac OS X as well as OS 9 and the Cruzer Titanium works fine on all of them so far. So I'm pretty satisfied with its flexibility.
24 Much better design than the Sandisk Mini.
I purchased a SanDisk Mini and then examined a friend's SanDisk Titanium, a few days later. I sold off my Mini and bought the Ti, and I am much happier.
One thing to keep in mind is that I believe the Titanium "coating" is simply Titanium "colored coating". My basis for this assertion is the fact that I own 3 solid Titanium survival knives: a neck knife, a fixed blade, and a locking folder. Put it this way... The "titanium" on this thing behaves much differently, as well as the fact that there is little price difference between the non-Ti Mini and this Ti version. Titanium has "self-healing" properties, and is expensive.
You will undoubtedly scratch the end of this thumbdrive if you attempt to attach the included keyring, which you will certainly want to do, but the light damage caused is truly worth the functionality gained. The problematic attachment of the keyring seems to be the only flaw in the design of this thing. Check the customer photos at the top of the page, as I have uploaded an image.
It works fine on the front of the two Dell towers I have, as well as on my IBM laptop. The speed difference between the Ti version and the Mini I had is also quite noticeable. Additionally, I am no longer aggravated by the Mini's cap continually falling off in my pocket, since a slight bit of sideways pressure easily caused it to pop off. If you're going to buy a SanDisk, buy the Ti.
25 Nice, but waaay overhyped
I was really excited about getting this toy after reading all the reviews online, but now that I've been using it for a while I'm somewhat disappoinsted.
Firstly, it's cover is made out of titanium, so "virtually" undestructable - but then, there is no protection on the usb connector, even when it's slid in. So dirt and dust can easily get in and clog it up. A little closing 'door' would be nice or something else to make the thing 'industrial strength' rather than 'pseudo industrial strength'. Now the feeling you get is that the titanium is included more to show-off rather than to serve a practical purpose, and that's like going off road with a BMW X5 and getting stuck in the mud (no offense to X5 owners).
Secondly, it would be nice if the the Cruzer Titanium was waterpfoor. Not that it's really important for me, but would be a nice feature to have, especially on a device that is meant to be indestructable. Yet again that whole 'pseudo industrial strength' thing pops to mind.
Thirdly, how are you supposed to get that little key ring on it? That requires some physical strenght, and be careful not scrach the titanium surface! Makes you wonder if the drive is really meant to be carried on the keychain. The belt clip is no better - it sticks to the thing pretty well (although doesn't seem to be all that reliable from the side), but then I can guarantee you'll scratch the surface if you want to take the belt clip off.
Forthly, the slider does not slide as smoothly as it could slide. It requires you to push it down to be able to slide, so force needs to be applied in two directions at the same time, which makes it rather uncomfortable to use. That's a minor complaint, though, I'm sure a lot of people don't really care about that.
Fifthly, the included PocketCache software if evaluation only, you have to pay $20 to get the full version. And don't forget to update CruzerSync, because older version is gonna be painfully slow to syncronize anything with outlook, especially if you have many emails. And after the update it's not as fast as you would expect..
So finally yes, it's a nice thing - very good looking, has a nice blue light and is EXTREMELY fast. Faster than any other drive around. But then if you're just an average user who does not care about the speed so much and you want a simple flashdrive, there's no point in getting the Titanium and paying the extra dollars for the name "titanium". Yes, it's sturdy, but it seems that some of the key features of real "sturdiness" have been left out.
26 Titanium USB...†bergeek accessory
I bought the sandisk titanium 512 mb usb flash drive a few weeks ago. This thing is sweet; small(about the size of a pack of Big Red), fast, large capacity, and it looks really cool...i mean c'mon its titanium,,,it doesnt get much cooler than that. When i first bought this thing i tried my best to bend it, no luck...its pretty durable, which is a big plus for me. It has a snazzy blue light behind the white slide button that looks nice and the silver finish looks really cool. However, it does scratch pretty easy, esp when sliding the little belt attachment onto it, which btw is nearly useless. The belt attachment doesnt provide enough resistance to really give you that secure feeling. It has included software too; a nice encryption tool (which is easy to use), some cashe program that will automatically update a selected folder onto you scandisk everytime you plug it to your cpu (for easy backup of important files), and some other program for address book and email (which is only like a 90 day trial so if you wanna keep it ya gotta pay). In conclusion, this is a good buy, fast, heavy(not cheap plastic), comes with free software, and looks tight.
27 Durability is what it's all about.
I needed something durable that I can keep on my keychain and not worry about breaking when I do some hard work. This is the device. I think the titanium coating is just a gimmick, but the metal case truly is nearly unbreakable. There are also no flimsy caps to lose, either. It's not perfect, but it will fit in all but the most ridiculously recessed USB slots.
Cons:
The cruzersync software is just a 30-day trial version though, so I opted not to use it, rather than shell out more money. The keychain is really hard to put on, but that also means it's not going to accidentally fall off, either.
It's a little more expensive than some, but I think having a device that can take some punishment is worth it.
28 Does not work in all USB ports
I've had alot of trouble with this product. I got one and tried it in 6 ports on two computers and could only get it to work in one (port). Tech support is near-worthless as the person told me to return it and get another. I tried two: exact same results. I've read elsewhere that the product is sensitive to the amount of power supplied to the USB port. Of course, SanDisk wouldn't acknowledge any problem with the design. Don't buy it if you want to use it on different computers (yeah, like what it's meant for) because there's no telling whether it'll work.
29 TOP PERFORMER: 512MB USB Flash Drives
This is the best performing 512MB flash drive that I've tested (the other two that I tested are the regular Sandisk Cruzer and the regular Lexar JumpDrive). I like this one a lot for the following reasons:
(1) Not only does this store a LOT of stuff, it is very fast. In my experience, this drive transfers about twice as fast than the regular Sandisk Cruzer. Transfer speeds will vary from computer to computer, and they are always slower than the stated speeds.
(2) Built-in password-encrypted security. Lexar also makes one that has built-in security, but I have not tested that one.
(3) Slide design. I've owned about 5 flash drives in my lifetime, and on every one of them, I lost the cap that protects the USB plug. This drive uses a sliding design instead of a cap to protect the USB plug.
(4) Titanium. Virtually indestructible and oh-so-pretty.
30 Item that can usher in the next phase of computing
The reason I say this is because this device is pretty great; The transfer speeds are exactly as fast as they claim. I have plugged it into XP and 2000 without any problem. It is amazingly small and solid (not flimsy plastic). It comes with pretty cool encryption software and backup software.
The best part is I run the portable versions of Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla thunderbird from it on any computer I am at. Applications that can be run from USB disks are a great thing...
31 Fast, durable
The USB 2 connection makes large file transfers extremely fast. Not requiring a cap is fantastic, as I always end up breaking or losing the caps for my other USB RAM drives. If you carry your drive with you everywhere, this is a great choice, as it is extremely durable.
32 Great drive, but a couple of problems
I have had my SanDisk Cruzer Titanium for about a month now and have appreciated the fast transfer rates for large files. However, I have had some difficulty connecting the device to some USB ports because of two design elements:
1) The slightly rounded edge that the USB connector slides out of makes it difficult to get a connection to the angled front USB ports on the Dell Dimension towers we have at work. It's hard to insert the drive "blindly" if the tower is on the floor since it has a tendency to rock out of the slot.
2) The slightly increased width of the product makes it impossible to connect to some devices with recessed USB ports like my Toshiba M20-2257 notebook. While this is partly a design flaw of the computer and is also a problem with many other "wide" USB keys, the original SanDisk Cruzer keys did not have this problem.
I think I will need to carry a USB extension cord with me.
33 Tools without fault
It is a revolution for once a product has the reliable and practical solid time. In one only action one has under the hand its contact, his malls... They is truths pleasures to use what to say moreover... We would need more example of this type.
Thanks.
34 This is a must have, Highly recommend it.
I love Titanium's design. The performance is the best in the market.
The preloaded SW are great. I really appreciate CruzerSync: easy to use, good performance, and very useful SW.
The 1 GB is announced, great.
Highly recommend the Titanium to all of you guys.
35 The best

37 Great product with great features
Great titanium design for the current fastest USB flash drive on the market. Very easy to use.
The preload of apps is also great; I particularly appreciated the CruzerSync to synchronize your Outlook mailbox in a few seconds; A great app when you travel or work from office and from home.
38 best in class, no doubt! I just bought a second one...
Sandisk Cruzer Titanium is really fast (15MB/s read & 13MB/s write) and I love its new Titanium design.
It comes preloaded with "great and easy-to-use" apps such as "CruzerSync" who helps you sync your entire Outlook mailbox (emails, attachments, IE favorites, contacts, notes, tasks etc...) on your USB Flash Drive in just a few clicks.
Now, you can access all your personnal data from any PC (internet cafe, friends, airport etc.) even if Outlook is not installed on it.
Once you're back home, you can sync all your changes in just one click.
The perfect solution for Mobile Professionals.
I definitively recommend it!
39 Fast and reliable (so far...)
As the first reviewer indicated, this is a very speedy USB flash drive. It easily gets 12MB/s write and 15MB/s read in real world conditions when connected to a USB 2.0 host. Only when reading/writing many very small files does it drop significantly below these values.
The metal contruction and retractable design make it one of the more physically robust USB flash drives around. I've used it regularly for a couple months under Linux 2.4 and 2.6, Mac OS X, and a variety of Windows versions without any trouble. It comes with a five year manufacturer warranty.
If you're looking for a top-of-the-line flash drive, this might be for you. Do remember that like most consumer electronics, the next generation of flash drives will probably be out in 6-9 months and will no doubt make this one look slow. However, until capacities go up significantly, more speed isn't really necessary since 512MB can be filled in less than a minute at 12MB/s...
40 BLAZING fast!
This drive is amazingly fast compared to my old USB flash drive (a 128 MB Macally FD-128 Flash Drive). I did not do a strictly scientific test by any means, but the difference is incredible. The old 128 MB drive read a 34.6 MB file in 33 seconds and wrote the same file back in 50 seconds. The Cruzer Titanium read that same file in 1.8 seconds (my reaction time on the stopwatch may be a little slow), and wrote the file back in 2 seconds. I wrote a 200 MB zip file to the Cruzer in 15 seconds and read the file off the Cruzer in 12.5 seconds. I think even these non-scientific results speak for themselves. I am very impressed with this drive. The flashing blue access light is a very nice touch (especially when it starts flashing like a maniac during a large transfer). I highly recommend this stylish, fast, and solidly built drive to anyone.
