Nothing? Seinfeld is a show about everything! It's about the appeal of the posse and coma etiquette. It's about importing and exporting. It's about sneaking a peek, and seeing the baby. It's about this, that, and the other. TV Guide ranked Seinfeld the best TV series of all time. It has become the master of its syndication domain. Its most devoted fans can quote each episode chapter and verse; their absorption of each scene's minutiae anything but a trivial pursuit. With such fervent devotion to the show, and demand for its DVD release, series creators Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David could have easily just OK'd a bare-bones set containing nothing but the episodes. Not that there would have been anything wrong with that, but instead, the creative team came together to create extensive and encyclopedic features that make this four-disc set buy-worthy. The candid and revealing audio commentaries and interviews, deleted scenes and original episode promos, and optional "Notes About Nothing" pop-ups are as irresistible as a Drake's coffee cake.

It's always fun and instructive to return to the humble beginnings of a series that became a pop culture benchmark. Here are Kramer's first not-so-grand entrance, Jerry's first contemptuous "Hello, Newman," and Elaine's first "Get Out!" shove. But what is most revelatory about the episodes from the first two seasons is what Jason Alexander, during his commentary for the episode "The Revenge," calls a "sweet quality" that somehow redeems these characters' more base instincts. The third season's--for want of a better word--the charm. The show has found its misanthropic voice (by season's end, a fed-up Elaine tells herself, "I gotta get some new friends"), the ensemble has a firmer grasp of their characters, and the writers rise to the occasion with episodes that have entered the Seinfeld pantheon, including the Seinfeld equivalent of a Very Special Episode, "The Boyfriend," with Keith Hernandez and the J.F.K. parody, "The Library," featuring Philip Baker Hall channeling Jack Webb as library bookhound Bookman, "The Pez Dispenser," and "The Keys," with an L.A.-bound Kramer winding up on Murphy Brown. Michael Richards, especially, comes into his own this season as Kramer. The first two seasons built up the mystique of this "man-child"/"parasite." So while he was absent in season 2's now-classic "The Chinese Restaurant" (in which Jerry, George, and Elaine wait in vain for a table), he is now out and about with the close-knit, albeit dysfunctional, trio. Julia Louis-Dreyfus has some of her giddiest golden moments, zonked on painkillers in "The Pen," or, as a bored party guest in "The Stranded," telling an obnoxious bride-to-be that "Maybe the dingo ate your baby." And don't get us started on Jason Alexander as George, series co-creator Larry David's neurotic and angst-ridden alter-ego. To paraphrase what Julia Roberts said of Denzel Washington, we don't want to live in a world where Alexander doesn't have an Emmy.

The "Inside Look" episode intros offer fascinating insights into this singular show that subverted sitcom convention. We learn that even the most outrageous episodes, such as "The Pez Dispenser," were inspired by real-life events. Especially telling is Alexander's observation that Jerry never really socialized with the other ensemble members. This has extended to the commentaries: Seinfeld pairs with David on some episodes, while Alexander, Richards, and Dreyfus team up on others. They are gracious to the guest stars and extras, and mostly mum on Jer. All of this, of course, is yadda yadda yadda to Seinfeld fans, whose patience for the show's DVD debut has been amply rewarded. As Elaine screams in the third-season episode, "The Subway," "It's not nothing, it's something!" --Donald Liebenson

Seinfeld Giftset (includes Seasons 1-3, Limited Edition Script, Monk's Salt & Pepper Shakers, Playing Cards)
1 Outstanding set, terrible price
This same set sells for $108 at Costco. Hardly competitive pricing.
2 Great show, dissapointing extras
I really love Seinfeld. I didn't actually watch Seinfield before it went into syndication. Anyway, I just have a complaint about some of the extras. First, the script with handwritten notes from Larry David would be great if his handwritting was legible. Lastly, even though I am sure this is a matter of taste, the extra Seinfeld standup footage that did not air as part of the show is just not as funny as the standup that is included at the beginning of every episode, which dissapointed me greatly. Otherwise, all the other extras are great.
3 Nothing
I haven't received my order yet from the seller after almost a month (will it ever arrive?). It may be a show about nothing...but it's the funniest nothing I've ever seen. I agree with Richard Ducloux regarding the comment from the individual in DC. "Seinfeld" and fans are in a class of their own and I guess the DC individual doesn't fit in that class. The way the characters interact is priceless, whether they be alone (i.e. Kramer with the shower head) or in groups. I recently saw a "Happy Days" reunion on TV and, after being a die-hard Seinfeld fan, wondered why I used to laugh at Richie, Fonzie etal. Hopefully we'll one day see the "Seinfeld" crew together again.
4 So much in one gift set
I have only watched the first 12 episodes and so far I cant stop laughing. I didnt start watching seinfeld until the last episode aired which I taped. Then I watched it when it started in syndication. When I heard it was coming out on DVD I knew I had to get it. So many special features and the gift set is great. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is hot.
5 The DVD Set
It's about time, that's all I can say. But with all the great extras, the behind-the-scenes looks at the psychology of Cosmo Kramer, the talks with the cast and creators about how they struggled to get NBC to even let them air the show (boy, I'm sure NBC thanked God every day for making the right choice) and commentaries, the Seinfeld Seasons 1-3 set was well worth the wait.

I'd never seen the pilot before, having discovered Seinfeld late in the game through reruns, and so that was a special delight for me as it was actually funny and sitcom pilots are usually just amusing and passable but this one actually made me laugh out loud (by something George said, of course). The cast...well, what can you say? Legendary cast. Though much talk was always made over the greatness of Jason Alexander and Michael Richards, I have to say that Julia Louis Dreyfus (Elaine) is my hands down favorite. Just watch The Subway episode and you'll see why. That was truly the Lainey tour de force and showcased the hilarity of how this small innocent looking woman could explode into a fury of rage and vitriol...all in her mind of course.

The Chinese Restaurant, The Parking Garage, The Boyfriend (with the famous JFK parody), all classic episodes. I'm still confused as to what exactly happened with Jerry and Elaine's burgeoning relationship at the end of Season 2, it seemed like they were together and then at the start of Season 3, the plot was just thrown aside and mentioned once again, cleaned up rather quickly. Nevertheless, this is perfection because as I watched this I only knew the best was yet to come. Elaine had yet to dance, Jerry had yet to say "Hello Newman" in his special way, George had to yet become even more neurotic, Kramer had yet to start making his grand entrances and weird hand gestures and most importantly...the Costanzas had yet to come.

Here's to more years of more seaons and more laughs.
6 "This is the signal!..."
The Box set is the best! Cool stuff inside too... "Naked, Naked, Naked!"... Hahahaha! A must have for true fans. Enjoy!
7 Even my grandma used to watch this show every week
This is magnificent. This is one of the most glorious boxed sets I could have asked for, and I got it free as a Christmas present! You get the first three seasons, a small book-style script (mine was "The Big Salad"), playing cards, and a napkin dispenser with salt and pepper shakers from Monks. I thought the script would have more notes from Larry David in it, and I was sorely disappointed with that. I had a few pages of enormously unintelligible scribbling at the beginning, and then VERY sparsely (like practically nothing) interspersed notes after. But who cares? We all want the DVD's anyway.

I normally wouldn't be able to tell the difference, but these episodes are evidently remastered. A couple of them have an optional intro monologue by Jerry, and it's really obvious when you watch them with that. The intro looks absolutely horrid, but then once the episode starts and the familiar stand-up routine comes in it's beautiful again. There is an average of five episodes per disc across 8 of them. They all have special features; nearly every episode has an "inside look," ranging from around 2-5 minutes, showing interviews with the cast and the writers and how the story evolved. There is another longer (maybe 45 minutes) documentary on the evolution of Larry David's old neighbor Kenny Kramer into the Kramer we all know now. Additionally, there are bloopers, deleted scenes, commentaries, footage of Jerry and Michael Richards from the Tonight Show (RIP Johnny Carson), and more. I have yet to sit through a whole episode with the "notes about nothing" on, but those are basically like that old Pop-up Videos (I think that was the name) show on VH1 where they would pop up trivia text on screen every few seconds relating to what was going on.

The episodes themselves are classic. Personally, I don't think the first season was very funny, but it only constitutes 4 episodes and the pilot. Once the second season hits, though, the show really gets running. The laughs are practically nonstop, which I never really realized before. I certainly never noticed just how funny Michael Richards is. There is a blooper from the episode "The Good Samaritan" in season 3 where Kramer has a seizure at the sound of Mary Hart's voice, and I couldn't stop laughing, it was so funny (make sure to watch for the blooper, not the actual episode...the aired seizure isn't as good). Season 3 only continues the stride. There are so many classic moments from this show that you'd have to have no sense of humor at all to not laugh (like the "kid" who gave it 1 star below).

The writing on this show is top-notch, and it may never be seen again, as less and less original ideas are presented to the public. Do yourself a favor and pick up this boxed set, or if you can find the two individual sets for cheaper, get those. This show had a profound impact on television, and it demands appreciation. I absolutely can't wait for the subsequent releases. At least season 3 of Curb Your Enthusiasm comes out next month!
8 A Must Have for any Seinfeld Fan
I could watch these DVDs a million times & laugh each time!
9 Seinfeld is unfunny, pointless, and a waste of time
Seinfeld is a real pointless TV show that somehow made audiences laugh but this is one unfunny and annoyning TV show that dosen't deserve this DVD set(The Simpsons is the best cartoon TV show ever and dosen't get a box set of features and Seinfeld does). The series are pointless and have no sense or laughs. the show is a bunch of New Yorkers living life on misadventures and meeting weird people. Jerry Seinfeld is a terrible actor and a bad comedian and the rest of the cast are pathetic. Please watch something better on TV and skip Seinfeld. Please don't waste money on this box set it is a waste of time. For fans of this so-called show why waste 54 dollars on this box set when TBS shows it for free.
10 Nothing Else Will Ever Compare
I have been a Seinfeld fan since I was turned on to the show after a friend suggested I watch "The Contest" my freshman year of college. Since then, like most fans, I have taped every episode I could, waiting for the day they would be available on DVD. Now, that the day has arrived, the waiting is well worth it. Besides, having immediate access to your favorite Seinfeld moments, the extras on the DVD set are spectacular. The gift box has ruined me from any other supposed, "Limited Edition", "Collectors Edition" DVD box set. There is no stone left unturned, and every little known fact a Seinfeld fan could want to know is awaiting you on this set. I have owned it for over a month now, and still have not tired of it. It is one DVD set you will view every night. Well worth any price. We can only hope for the same packaging, and attention to detail in upcoming series.
11 Bad Experience with Media Pitstop
I bought the gift set on December 8 to give as a Christmas present. I paid more for the gift set at Media Pitstop because it had a high reliability ranking. Not only did the set arrive after Christmas, it came after the latest estimated arrival date, December 29. I now must pay to send the gift to the recipient, who was with me in Tucson for Christmas, but has now returned home to Virginia. There was no indication that the item was not in stock at Media Pitstop when I purchased the set and I emailed them my concern that the gift arrive for Christmas. DO NOT BUY FROM MEDIA PITSTOP!
12 Everyones Favoorite Gift!!
Ahhhhhh, The gift I gave that was not gonna be "regifted"
I SCORED!! I saw huge smiles, and laughs.
It is a must have for gifts all year.
13 Seen Em'
I have seen all these eposodes. There's no doubt about this DVD as being extremely funny! It's just that I have seen them all before. I thought I would find some rare eposodes hidden in the mix on this boxed set. To my surprise, all the eposodes are continously aired on TBS everyday. Still, the script book, and the Monk's Cofee Shop memorabilia are totaly awesome! Even though I have seen all the eposodes, Seinfeld is one of those shows you can just watch all over and over again, and not get tired of the show. I put on this disk, every night and watch some. Nice collectors item!
14 RE: look out for packaging flaw
I got this for my boyfriend. It's his favorite show ever but we both love it! It's a great show. But listen to what Surprised Gift Giver (MA) said. The set we got was missing one of the salt & pepper shakers. It didn't really bother us because we really just wanted the DVDs and the playing cards, but if you want to keep the whole set as a collectors item you would be mad if this happend to you. But the DVDs are great and we love all the extra features on the DVDs!
15 Curious
I am finding it fascinating that vendors online here think they can sell this for twice the retail value when it is still selling for its regular price. People must be suckers.
16 Best Ever
This is the first and probably the only review I write on Amazon. I am taking the time to review because, this is absolutely the best show ever. People who are thinking of buying gifts, buy this - the best gift for a Seinfeld lover. I have watched the set 2 times (after watching it many times on TV at 7 and 11) and still can't get enough. Every moment, every dialogue and every situation in the show reflects the lives of ordinary people like you and me so closely that it can almost be anybody's life. Show about nothing is really the Show about everybody.
17 Look out for packaging flaw.
It is a fabulous set. But I recommend checking the contents of the box right away, because I just opened mine for a peek before wrapping it as a gift and discovered that it held two copies of Volume One and no Volume Two!
18 Seinfeld Cuts Corners to Milk Public -- Again
I am a huge fan of the show having watching it from the first season until the final. It seems these days, whether it be stand-up or DVDs, Seinfeld charges an arm and a leg for all that he touches. But do we get our money's worth? A firm no. The most disappointing aspect of these DVDs is the low quality transfer. I compared the DVD to a broadcast of Seinfeld, and the broadcast version was clearer with less artifacts. There are all sorts of mosquito noise and specs on the DVD images. The extras are lacking too. Although some of the behind the scenes extras are good, they looked like they were quickly slapped together in one day and are often very short. I agree with the other reviewer that stated the excessive copyright/disclaimer text is damn anoying (in French too!). Commentaries are often few and far between and often include the comments from some producer/director that we don't really care to hear for a full 23 minutes. Seinfeld doesn't seem to partner much with the other cast members perhaps preferring to isolate himself. It would have been fun if he would have joined "the team". In summary, the shows in seasons 1-3 are awesome, but the DVD transfer is sad and the bonus features are weak as the crew is now just going through the motions (much like the last two seasons of the series). On a side-note, don't you find Luis-Dreyfus' present-day make-up and hair style on the extras a little too Malibu Barbie?
19 Bahumbug?
Jimmy Lee, that was a very close-minded and ignorant thing for you to say. Who are you, of all people, to put down a revolutionary TV show and an entire generation of fans who actually HAVE a sense of humor? Get a life. Better yet, go drink bleach + a 40 oz and start doing cartwheels till you pass out and die, [...].

I love Seinfeld. I've been watching it since the early 90s and the episodes STILL crack me up. I remember staying up late with my sisters only to catch an episode of Seinfeld. Good times. This pack is the ultimate christmas present.

"Cheese, George! CheEeEeEeee--"
20 You got your nothing in my box set!
What can be said about Seinfeld that doesn't sound cheesy?

This is the PERFECT box set!

The episode quality is totally rockstar, the bonus features are awesome, and the salt and pepper shakers are wicked cool!

This is the PERFECT gift for a fan of the show or of comedy in general!
21 Great... but
Just what I have been waiting for... the great Seinfeld series now on DVD, the additional material is great, but I got tired of seen so many copyright information inside, almost for every cut scene and quote there is a copyright text.

I bought it and I know is copyrighted, the guys who will copy it wont care about all this info, if they want to do it, they wil.

Anyway, its great to have it here. Any news on the release for the other seasons???

22 Comedy Masterpiece
At an expensive price, this is a dream come true for fans of NBC's Seinfeld, the number one show on television for many years. It was a masterpiece of sitcom comedy, the creation of Larry David and stand-up comedian Jerry Seinfeld. For many years through the 90's, it brought laughter to millions of homes. Seinfeld, long labeled as "the show about nothing" the long running comedy proved that it was a show about EVERYTHING. It made fun of the little things in life, the commonplace became great comedy. Larry David (from Curb Your Enthusiasm) and his comedic talents were in their full power on Seinfeld. For Jerry Seinfeld himself, it became a vehicle for his own stand-up comedy. For me, it became as much a 90's definative show as Fox 11's "Married With Children". It is a time capsule of the 90's. New York City, stand-up comedy and guest stars galore including Kathy Griffin, Raquel Welch, Patrick Warburton, Brian Cranston and many others.

This was the pre-9/11 years, and New York City was exciting and colorful. There was one episode in which Krammer prepares two years ahead for the 1999 New Years Eve party to ring in the New Millenium. A lot of the comedy was in the characters and the adventures they got themselves into, which were hilarious !! Remember the episodes "Master Of His Domain" in which Jerry, Kramer, Elaine and George made a bet on who would abstain from masterbation ? Pure hilarity ! That was a well-written episode. Kramer could always be counted on for laughter with his cartoonish apperance and physical comedy (coming through the door all of a sudden, his many antics) Elaine was a promiscuous, men-loving, adventuresome, care-free, devil-may-care but intelligent and classy girl. Her search for a man who was "Spongeworthy" her affair with the jazz musician and the mechanic who invented sex moves, and of course, her unforgettable lousy dancing made her a colorful character. George was awkward, funny, bitter, pathetic, charming and witty. This show is one that will remain in the mainstream for many years.

There are still reruns on tv and I hope all the episodes of all the seasons, including the memorable finale are captured on DVD. The finale was the highest rated episode and the most watched. All of America tuned in to see the cast jailed as a result of vendettas for characters they had "wronged", including the Soup Nazi, the Iraqui restaurant owner and many others, among them the bitter and chubby mailman Newman. This show will be loved forever.
23 One of the funniest shows of the last 20 years.
Seinfeld is just extremely funny. The jokes are quick and they are funny for a reason. They are close in a direct and indirect way with our lives and with our fears. We don't want to live some of the things that happen to this guys. That's why is funny. The cast is also excellent and people like them.
What can we can say about this? Not much. We all know it. Is a great show that goes directly to the "weak point" of Americans in general and I think that every person in the country has laughed with this show. Worth the money!
24 Seinfeld, comedic genius!
I don't think anyone needs to hear what the show is about, everyone has seen it, and TV Guide gave it the title of best show ever. Some people don't understand the humor, and this is fine because there are other shows out there you might "get". Seinfeld is comedic genius and for the poor souls out there who don't think it is or believes that its not a thinking show, you are missing out on about 75% of the humor. And therefore missing out big time. Seinfeld, the only show who's re-runs never get old.
25 RESPONSE TO SLOW-WITTED GUY FROM DC
I think the review was for the DVD as a whole. We didn't want your useless opinion because you couldn't understand the humor.Every one has seen the show, thats why it is rated the best show ever by TV guide. So we didn't ask what the show was about. Seinfeld is comedic genius. It is OK not to understand it.
I know people that don't "get it". They are looking for three's company humor. Each to their own. Seinfeld humor needs thinking, and if you don't think so, you are not catching 75% of the jokes. Therefore missing out big time.
26 How could anyone not like him?
I love the entire set. I love the interviews and the bloopers. I also love the pop-up text that comes with each show. I think they lend much insight to these episodes that I have seen over and over again. I don't care that I paid an extra $20 for a salt and pepper shaker and a deck of cards. It was worth it. I'm out there, Jerry, and I'm loving every minute of it!
27 Quality of the set exceeds the early chemistry of cast
I love this show, for its simplicity and for the chemistry that developed between the characters and the writing. This first set is perhaps the one that suffers the most from the eventual brilliant cast chemistry as the early versions of George are more "woody Allen-esque" than the more fully neurotic and scheming character he became, and Kramer is still a bit awkward at this stage and at times seems a bit forced.

The picture quality is outstanding. In fact, at times it is too good, as watching the show on the DVD's gives the appearance of a staged play, while the television medium captures a grainier, and therefore more real, feel to it.

I think the overall packaging is excellent. The seasons have individual DVD's in separate cases, which allows you to take a few episodes easily on the road in a briefcase to watch on the laptop. Other sets have such bulky cases it is not possible to do this. The extras are nice curiosities, but I have to agree that with the exception of the script (which is wonderful - I got the "Big Salad" show) they are not worth the extra money. Thankfully the boxed set is not too much more than buying them in two pieces.

Overall, this is a great set that should be in the collection of every Seinfeld fan. I can't wait for future releases when the show got richer and the characters more developed. Highly recommended!

28 Not as much meat on this animal as I had hoped
Great series but to be honest I am a little disappointed with the bonus features.

Seinfeld is the Lord of the Rings of sitcoms. Therefore the dvd set should be on a par with the LOTR box. There should be commentaries upon commentaries. There should be hours of deleted scenes and bloopers. There should be a pretty booklet noting the details of every show. Instead there are only a handful of half-hearted commentaries, a couple of outtakes per disc and nothing to read but the brief synopsis on the back of each disc case.

The "Inside Looks", Tonight Show footage and documentary are very entertaining...I just would have liked to have seen more of them.

The commentaries were the real disappointment I guess. There are moments of greatness but really, each episode should have had at least one commentary. Look at the Simpsons or Freaks & Geeks box sets. Now THOSE are commentaries! I'm sure there are dozens of behind-the-scenes anecdotes that could be told by cast & crew. Why aren't these included??

While I'm at it I must mention that the text commentary is a real drag. Anybody else get a headache trying to keep up with the show and read at the same time?

What saves this set is the show itself. It's a great series, even this early in the game. Having the first 3 seasons on disc finally and being able to watch them in order allows you to see the actors grow into their characters, which is very interesting.

Overall, the shows are brilliant and the Extras range from "ok" to excellent. The box is a "Must Have" for Seinfeld fans although I'd skip this Gift edition. The script is interesting for a few seconds, the salt&pepper shakers are cute but the card set is garbage. Save your cash and get the individual sets.

BTW, for a television series box set done right look at Freaks & Geeks. Wow! The Limited Yearbook Edition is even more Wow! Seinfeld pales by comparison.
29 Great content, poor "gifts"
I couldn't resist the ReGift set, they were the cherry atop the cake, the greatest cake ever, if you will.

However, when I opened the box I was very disappointed. The script was good, the rest was very poor. The cheap tin napkin holder and the ceramic sauce bottle salt and pepper are the worst quality imaginable. The salt and pepper set fall out of the holders at the merest brush of a hand. The playing cards only have the cast on the picture cards, but they are just the faces clumsily placed over the standard picture card faces.

The cardboard packaging I'm used to, American dvd releases seem to suffer from using the cheapest materials possible, no Amaray cases here!

I wish I'd saved my money. The European version of the box set doesn't have the gifts and is therefore cheaper. I should have got that instead rather than importing the US one JUST for the gifts. After all, the content of the dvds is marvellous. There are notes for every episode, the deleted scenes and behind the scenes stuff is riveting, and the whole menuing system is excellent, with various paths to get to all the extras, which are also placed in context to each episode.
30 If you don't like Seinfeld... don't buy the DVD. Duh!
In the wise words of Don Imus... "I've never met a smart person who didn't have a sense of humor." I say amen to that and quite honestly reckon that what we witnessed on our TV screens for what now seems like 9 very short seasons was a sort of pure, "whipped up out there somewhere in the stars" kind of entertainment genius that TV in it's current apocalyptic preoccupation with reality dribble and cookie cutter sit-coms may sadly never capture again. But thank the almighty we can now unleash this comedic lightning in a bottle whenever we need a crack like fix of "nothing" by just dropping a DVD into a tray, dimming the lights and pretending it's Thursday night in 1991 all over again. You know honestly I'm a bit suspicious as to the motives of people who would waste their time writing a review about something they obviously don't get and know very little about, I know "nothing" and subtlety are hard concepts to grasp sometimes but if you let yourself go and quit waiting for someone to lead you to the "one-liners" to drink you might just appreciate the fact that Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David figured that the audience was smart enough to get "it" without "it" being shoved down their collective throats. They understood that the laughs and loyalty they would earn by not dumbing the whole process down by resorting to pathetic ratings period tricks like offering viewers "an emotional Seinfeld we'd never forget" or having Elaine and George get married in the season finale' to find out next season it was all just some twisted dream sequence would be much more rewarding in the end. I guess it's sort of like when they say you should never talk about politics or religion at a dinner party, I think I'll ad Seinfeld to that list, bottom line is, if people don't get it, they never will so why argue the facts? It's just a dirty shame they find themselves prisoners of such a bleak humorless little rock of a planet. Now as far as the DVD goes, even without the fantastic extra's (which go to 11) it's Seinfeld on DVD... `nough said! Heck I would have been satisfied if they'd released it dubbed in Bulgarian and had packaged the whole thing in smelly old mildew ravaged newspaper! And that thing about smart people having a sense of humor... I guess the fact that I love this DVD and can't get enough Seinfeld makes me a freaking genius, a genius that can't spell mind you, but a genius that knows how to laugh!
31 3 seasons of pure seinfeld classics and then some...........
this cost me a few xmas gifts for others, but i could not resist(and i really tried) from purchasing these hours upon hours of classic seinfeld! only viewing a tv showing here and there, i fell totally in love with the show! now, at last, i will be able to view over 40 episodes, plus such a bounty of extras, it will take a few weeks to go thru every thing included in this superlative package! the hi definition transfers are awesome-the sound is not! no matter, to finally own this classic package is pure enjoyment. laughs galore is an understatement! i cannot wait till spring for the next set, culminating next november with the concluding seasons. rest assured, i will stash the cash to own the entire complete seasons all on dvd. yada yada yada, this writer is totally thrilled and excited. bravos and kudos to everyone involved to bring this painstaking package of fun, laughs, and love to dvd.
32 SOLTERO AUN???? COMPRALO...........
33 PACKED!!
While I like all the enthusiam for the show SEINFELD, I agree with the other review about reviewing the actual product, rather than just the show, which we all love anyway.

This DVD set far surpasses my expectations. It contains such an abundance of bonus materials; the discs could possibly take you months to get through, particularly the "notes about nothing" caption track, which like pop-up-video, captions each moment with a bit of trivia about the actors, characters, locations, etc.

The 'remastered' episodes look great. Certainly better than broacast and most definitely better than my horrendous VHS tapes. The most welcome surprise was seeing all the stand-up material from the MIDDLE of the episodes, something that was often removed in syndication.

In terms of the box-set extras, they are so-so. I haven't actually opened the deck of cards yet, or filled the salt/pepper shakers, but I suppose the inclusion of the script was nice. I would have been a bigger perk if they included "The Bet," the unfilmed script they spoke about in one of the DVD extras.

Aside from that, a very worthwhile purchase!
34 He's a ReGifter, It's an Unvitation!! Re-Gift set worth it!
I've noticed that for once both the Product Details sections and the Editorial Review cover the features of this DVD set very well, mentioning all the episdoes and extras, leaving my review free to be short and less boring.

If you are a Seinfeld aficionado like I am, get the ReGift set. The script is nice and bound like a book, complete with handwritten notes by Larry David. There are extras on each DVD, all eight CD's from seasons 1,2, and 3. The salt and pepper shakers are great, and complete with a miniature napkin holder too. The playing cards are fun (and useable), with a picture of Kramer on the Joker, Jerry on the Kings, Elaine on the Queens, and George on the Jacks. Season 1 and 2 come in one box, and season 3 in a separate box, each with an separate episode guide inside. This is a very nice set and worth spending the money on.

After all that, well, Seinfeld is Seinfeld. Now you can enjoy all the classic episodes we all love without those commercials inbetween from all the taping we use to do on TV. The DVD's offer the option of "Play All" or selecting individual episodes, a feature I really like in program sets.

In particular, I really liked the extra called "Kenny to Cosmo" where a picture of the real Kenny Kramer is shown, an old neighbor of Larry David from a long time ago, and the resemblance is striking. Larry David even got the original Kramer to participate in the interveiws on this piece. Great extra.

Seinfeld is still one of the funniest shows available, although I watch little to no television, Seinfeld and even its reruns is one of my exceptions. The DVD set is a must for any Seinfeld fan, and a great starter for anyone who is interested in getting deeper into this cult classic. Enjoy!
35 UNBELIEVABLE
Seinfeld is at once the best and worst of American culture. It's hard to believe that it only last nine years--but at the same time, each season, each episode, every minute covers so much ground you could potentially stretch them out to cover a lifetime. When the aliens arrive, all we need to do is set them in a room and have them watch Seinfeld, from start to finish (and maybe a few episodes of the Simpsons...and some Beatles CDs...and...alright, alright, some Tarantino flicks, just for fun!)
36 DVD easter eggs
hey i found some easter eggs for volume one and was wondering if anyone else found different ones other then these :

Camera testing for lighting and coloring.
On disc 1, go to the extras section and press up twice to highlight the chili. Press enter to view 3 minutes of Camera tests for lighting and coloring of the apartment once the show was picked up after the pilot with commentary by i think the show director and maybe the set director i dont know u will just ahve to check.

One on disc 3 of Volume 1, go to Extras, then click on Inside Looks and one of the Chinese crackers becomes active, click on it and you see an Inside look on a discarded episode, "The Bet"

Then on disc 4 of Volume 1, go to Set Up, a stain from George's hospital food is active, click on it and you see a comparison of Seinfeld unrestored and remastered. Haven't found any on disc 2 yet, or any in volume 3.

please tell me if u find any others
37 Seinfeld does it again!!
Wow! That Jerry Seinfeld has done it again! I cannot believe how funny these groundbreaking first three season were! They redefined what comedy was during the prime-time evening lineup. Cheers to the whole cast and crew and the cutsie salt&pepper shakers. I'll be using them then next time I'm at "Monk's Diner". :)
38 Why Must People Drone On.......
Someone needs to explain something to me. I thought the purpose of writing an on-line review of a product was to do just that, review the product. Not to document your personal opinion of a product which you do not own, nor have any intention of owning. When I read reviews, I'm looking to see what other people who have purchased the product thought about it. Not what somebody's opinion is of the "subject", if you will.

Furthermore, I'd like to know why people who write negative reviews (who also have no intention of owning the product) feel the need to excercise their vocublary muscle. Have you noticed that? Maybe they feel if they use big words people reading their review will be impressed with their "large" vocabulary; that we will assume since they have a large vocubulary their opinion must be factual and important.

Give me a break. If you don't own the product, don't write a review. I don't care what your opinion of the show is. I'm sure there are plenty of "I Hate Seinfeld" web sites you can join and voice your opinion with the other people who just don't get it.
39 SERENITY NOW!
Being an iconoclast, when Seinfeld was on TV, I never watched it. Actually, I only watched the very last episode of the series. Only because Apple computers was premiering a commercial during that show. Anyway, I was hooked after that. My favorite part is how, in every episode, there are two or three subplots, all of which come together in the last minute. Absolute genius.
40 That guy Chrs who wrote a review is stupid!!
If you would have read what was included in this set you would have seen that you get all THREE seasons not just two. The first two seasons are sold for around $50 and the third season is about the same price. So your actually getting this cheaper this way and getting extra free stuff!! So why don't you read first before writing a bad review.
41 Nothing...
They set out to create the greatest box set for a TV series, and they did it, with so many extras you will be eating Seinfeld for breakfast, lunch and dinner all year long!
42 Seinfeld
Wes, here are some stats on one of the most popular tv sitcoms in history. Maybe you should get out more and experience life than you will find it amusing as the rest of the country and world does. Your probably a red sux fan as well aren't ya!

It was one of the top-five Nielsen-rated shows for six consecutive years and became the cornerstone of NBC's "Must See TV" campaign, helping the network to record profits of nearly $1 billion in 1998 alone (Aucoin N9). It was one of very few sitcoms to consistently deliver audiences of more than 30 million viewers each week to the network, and more important, they consisted of the demog raphic most valued by advertisers--young, urban, upscale viewers who typically did not watch much television (Aucoin N9) [2] Consequently, Seinfeld charged advertisers a million dollars per minute, and for the last episode, watched by an estimated 76 million viewers (many of whom were in the desirable eighteen-to forty-nine-year-old age group), thirty-second commercials cost nearly $2 million--an unprecedented figure (Carter; Gilbert N8). Seinfeld's economic clout indicated the extent of its cultural capital.
43 2 types of people
As I was browsing through these reviews, I am glad to see that most people here get it. For those who say the show isn't that funny or doesn't have a huge following, they must be living in an alternate universe. The show was named the #1 sitcom of all time by T.V. guide and I know a lot of people who have been anxiously awaiting the DVD release.

The way I see it, there are two types of people. Those who like Seinfeld and those who don't. Those who like it realize that all of the little insignificant things that the show dwells on such as various personal characteristics (i.e., close talker, low talker, regifter, things like this) are things that the majority of us deal with on a daily basis. The things that Jerry and friends talk about in the diner are the things that people talk about with their friends. These are the stupid conversations of daily life. That is what makes the show so relatable and funny.

For those who don't understand or think the show is funny, I have only one conclusion. You are the other type of people, and most often the kind that are made fun of on the show. How could you get it or think it is funny. For those of us who get it, we are very lucky. For those of you who don't, perhaps you should watch the show and see how many of the subordinate characters remind you of yourself.
44 What's the big deal!
Why most people think this is the funniest, or greatest show of all time is beyond me. This show isn't that good at all. Kramer, and George are the only two funny ones. Jerry stinks, and is a horrible actor, and Elaine is ok, but not that good. This show definately isn't the best show ever. Cheers, All in the Family, I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners, and M*A*S*H, are all better shows. Seinfeld only has 10, maybe 12 Emmys. Cheers has 28, All in the Family has like 24, and so on. Not to mention Cheers my pic for greatest show of all time, has 4 Emmys for outstanding comedy series, '83,'84,'89,'91. Seinfeld has one, in '93. Then Cheers'spinoff Frasier won 5 in a row. All in the Family also won 4, as did Dick Van Dyke Show, all of which should be considered better than Seinfeld. If you wanna watch a funny show, watch anything but Seinfeld. Its unfunny, and trash. But people don't care about longevity, or awards, Cheers lasted 11 years, Seinfeld "only" 9 years, which is still good, but not more than a decade, like Cheers. Don't waste ur money folks.
45 There idiots
You can buy the First 2 volumes for about $60.00 why would you pay an extra $ 20.00 for worthless crap the only thing that counts is the episodes.I can understand if there are like 5 lost episodes but you are better off to buy the DVD.The Show is one of the best shows of all time but this is a rip off.
The Rip off Store called and there running out of you
46 Deaf & Hearing Impaired Beware
If you are Deaf or Hearing Impaired, and depend on Closed Captioning to enjoy DVDs, you can count the Seinfeld gifts sets among the many other rip offs. The episodes are Closed Captioned, but the Extras and Commentaries by the actors, etc., are not....as usual. Too bad they spent all that money on salt/pepper shakers and playing cards and once again ripped off the Heairng Impaired. We can enjoy the episodes, but nothing else.
47 Well, you can't please everyone
I was perusing the reviews. Five stars are not unexpected. The show has been out of production for years and it's still the most popular thing on TV. Then I came to reviewer Wes from Oregon. One star! I just had to read that one. Only one out of 21 readers at the time of this writing found his review helpful and that was probably from Wes himself.

One of his comments, "There's not a single laugh to be had", was somewhat true. There are tons of laughs to be had, not just a single laugh. Anyone who can't laugh at Seinfeld and company takes life too seriously. Seinfeld is funny because we ALL have done similarly stupid and neurotic things. Maybe not on a regular basis, but now and then. Those who can admit this will find the show hilariously funny.

And that is what makes Seinfeld so special. They joke that it's a show about nothing. It's not. It's a show about ourselves. The first three seasons built the characters and the later seasons expanded to society in general. The lunacy of political correctness was evident in later episodes such as Kramer refusing to wear the red ribbon and "Top of the Muffin" where the unused bottoms of the muffins were given to the homeless.

If you never got into Seinfeld, such as Wes, it's only because you never got to know the characters or were afraid to laugh at yourself. This is your golden opportunity to realize Seinfeld was/is not a fad. No one watched Seinfeld because "everyone else" was watching it. We watched it because it confirmed that we are not alone in our neuroses and we are all pretty funny. Looking at others while watching the show was not to know when to laugh, but because we either recognized our friends in the characters or were thinking our friends recognized us in them.

The only series that ever came close to Seinfeld was the early Bob Newhart show where Bob and his wife Emily lived in Chicago across from their neighbor, Howard. If you liked that show, you'll love Seinfeld. If you're too young to remember Bob Newhart, well there's a series that should come out on DVD.
48 The "Vault" is open
The best sitcom on television is finally now on DVD. When I found out that Seinfeld was coming out on DVD I knew I had to have it. In this gift box set including season's 1,2, and 3, how can you go wrong? Not only that but also bloopers, deleted scenes, interviews, and much, much more. But specifically for this gift set also you got a script written by Larry David for the episode "The Big Salad", poker cards including the cast, and a napkin dispenser with salt and pepper shakers. All you need and more is in this collection of the funniest sitcom ever. Hopefully they'll release this gift set with the up-coming seasons of Seinfeld. All the episodes re-mastered with quality picture and sound looks better than watching it on TV. This may seem a little pricey but it's worth every penny. This series DVD includes two versions of the pilot. Kenny vs. Kramer, in inside look of how Kramer was really based upon a Larry David's neighbor Kenny Kramer, original adds for the show, an inside-look of how the show began, cast and crew commentaries, and much more I can't even name all them. This is surely the collection I was waiting for. 40 episodes, 8 discs, special features, scripts, models, and much more! How could you find one flaw in this collection? It's the best! Seinfeld's the best! You definitely need to buy these seasons and the up-coming seasons. You won't regret it.
49 Seinfeld was spongeworthy after all
Get Out! "Seinfeld" on DVD? He's already the Master of His Domain why would it need to be released it on DVD? Because the fans demanded it and justice can only be served if one of the most popular and best sitcoms can be viewed, uncut and with lots and lots of background material on this groundbreaking show. Just a warning this review is for the gift set which includes the salt shakers, playing cards and a copy of one of Larry David's scripts. That's the main difference between this gift set (that and the fact that it includes the two boxed sets including the first three "seasons"). The first season consisted of five episodes (including the pilot)while the second consisted of 13 episodes as the network decided to commit to the show when the show received solid ratings. The third season consists of 22 episodes. All the episodes are the uncut original episodes that aired on NBC (most of the episodes in syndication are usually trimmed by a minute or two). The boxed set has a slipover case. Inside the inside slipcase each disc is nicely housed in individual slim DVD holders. 15 commentary tracks (if I'm counting correctly)for both sets. Deleted scenes, unused stand up bits, promos, featurettes make this a generous set particulary when compared to the bare bones releases for other similar (although not as funny) series.

When "The Seinfeld Chronicles" (the original title) first aired as a limited series no one suspected it would be the next big thing. Seinfeld and his collaborator/co-creator/co-producer and frequent co-writer Larry David pushed TV comedy to its boundaries and then demolished them. They'd then establish new boundaries and demolish those. That's groundbreaking, important television. It's also what made "Seinfeld" unique. Sure, "Who's The Boss?" could be funny but it had to be about something where someone learned something in every episode. Seinfeld's and David's mantra "learn nothing and be about nothing" proved that TV touching on the absurdity of real life could be funnier than TV where the characters learned valuable lessons and became better people. In truth, that rarely happens in the real world and the fact that Seinfeld made fun of and played with that convention made it important. It helped that it was damn funny as well.

Looks like something here in a marvelous high definition transfer from Columbia-Tristar. The good news is that even though the show was videotaped, the quality of the picture and sound for most of those analog episodes continues to look great. The blacks are solid for a videotaped program and the colors are as real and true as they appeared over a decade ago.

For a show about nothing this boxed set spends plenty of time and space talking about the something special that made this an outstanding show. The hour long documentary has interesting, revealing tidbits including a shocker from Julia Louis- Dreyfus-she never saw the original pilot episode. In fact, she didn't see it until she prepped for the commentary tracks and interview for this boxed set. Larry David's acerbic dry fatalistic sense of humor (which informs his terrific show "Curb Your Enthusiasm" on HBO) along with the witty, informed but ultimately wacky observations of the rest of the cast and crew make this a marvelous documentary. Unlike the featurettes or documentaries on a lot of TV shows (any of the "Sex and the City" ones for example), to invert a famous quip by a famous writer, "there's there there". Substance for a show about nothing what an ironic twist but in reality "Senfield" was about something. It was about the absurd little moments that populate our lives but a little more twisted.

"Kramer vs. Kramer" allows the real life inspiration for Cosmo Kramer to comment on his fictional counterpart. Kenny Kramer comes across as wacky and weird as Cosmo but a little scarier in that he occupies real space. We also get outtakes, bloopers (watch Jerry and the cast screw everything up and make the screw ups almost as funny as the scripts) and deleted scenes from episodes that ran a little but too long. "Master of His Domain" features the stand up material that introduced much of the first and second season (before it was ultimately seen as unnecessary) that was shot but never featured in the show. You can well imagine which episodes they were intended for and guess pretty accurately without seeing any info on the subject. "Sponsored by Vandelay Industries" features the funny promo ads and trailers that NBC ran to promote the show. "Inside Looks" provides a glimpse behind-the-scenes as to what was really happening when various episodes were shot. There's also some discussion about improve on the set, what inspired the various episodes and the chemistry that the ensemble cast had together. We also have the chance to see trivia about the various episodes but, more importantly, two slightly different versions of the pilot episode that play a bit different as well. It's like entering the Bizarro Universe from Superman at times.

The boxed set of the first three seasons is the way to go. There's really not a bad episode among them and "Seinfeld", like "Star Trek: The Original Series" literally hit the ground running. Yes, the series developed but it's frightening how good and sure these first three seasons are. That's rare in TV. There's also a copy of Larry David's script for with comments about the script, playing cards and, more importantly, replicas of the salt and pepper shakers from "Monk's". It's pricey but, really, it's the best bargain considering the extra stuff you get. If you want just the series, though, picking up the first two boxed sets separately is more cost effective.

Sharp, witty and frequently funny observations pop up in the 15 commentary tracks for the episodes from the first three seasons. While all of them are good, those featuring David, Seinfeld and the rest of the cast work best. Why? Because we are familiar with all of them and it's like inviting friends into your living room to comment on their own home movies and embarrassing photos. In closing, Seifeld was certainly sponge worthy. Yada-yada-yada, yabba-dabby-doo, get out!

50 what's so funny? Nothing...
This series is not funny, and look, why are people making a huge deal? there are only a handful of fans, the reunion wont bring in many viewers.

get over it, seinfield isnt worth it...
51 Best DVD Set Ever! Just Plain Great! 5 Stars
This is by far the best dvd set ever! Its about time that this came to dvd and I cant wait to go home tonight and watch all the Seinfeld I want! If you liked the show this is a must buy. 13 hours of extras and deleted scenes, this thing is packed with bonus materials! Go buy now! Before it becomes hard to find.
52 HOOCHIE MAMA!!
Michael Wilbon, sports columnist for the Washington Post and native Chicagoan, once said that Michael Jordan was better at basketball than anybody else has been at anything. No way! Jerry Seinfeld does comedy better than anybody has done anything. He will be remembered the way people remember Beethoven for music, and Michaelangelo for sculptures.

In fact, the show that Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David created was for comedy what Watson and Crick was for DNA.
53 The Superman episode!
I like the episode where the Superman theme is playing that one is hilarious. LOL!
54 ERROR IN WHAT COMES WITH BOX SET
just wanted to mention that along with the salt and paper shakers you recieve a Monk's metal napkin dispencer.
If you do not believe me go to seinfeld.com and go to about the DVD under gift set and it mentions the metal napkin dispencer.
55 The best Jerry, the BEST
It's about freaking time that they released the best sitcom known to man on DVD. If you're a Seinfeld fan and don't own these, you're no Seinfeld fan!
56 It's About Time!
It is amazing to me that it has taken this long to come out with a Seinfeld box set. This is a very impressive package. I think I could do without the salt and pepper shakers, but having the original script and notes by Larry David is a nice plus, as is all the added footage this set promises. They've been plugging this one hot and heavy on television and AOL even has a special promo with a poll being conducted for best episode. Hard to choose from the 41 episodes collected here. A bit pricy, but if you take out the Amazon Visa Card you can save $30.
57 ANGRY!
I love Seinfeld just as much as the next guy, but I went supernova when I saw that they are releasing best-of dvds. I want every episode, I don't care how bad some of them are.
58 Jerry makes $268M but the support cast get shafted. Why?
Ok, like everyone I am going to buy these DVDs and love them.

But why oh why are Jerry and Larry shafting the supporting cast members? They almost didn't even add commentary to the DVDs.

Great comedy, but the serious greed factor of the key writers/producers/directors/actor spoils it for me.

59 How 'Bout an Actual Review?
Some people really need to stop writing
reviews just to inform others on how much
they like the show. Write a review because
you're reviewing the product (the dvd set)
not the content (the show). There's like
36 reviews and only ONE was useful.

I don't need to hear that the Pez episode
was your favorite. Tell me about whether
or not your purchase on a YET-TO-BE-RELEASED
dvd set was worth it! *shakes head* :P
60 The Best Show of the 90s
A show about nothing. No one thought it would last, but in the end it became an iconic piece of pop culture for a generation. Although the ratings started off slowly for the show, it slowly grew a truly loyal base that today can recite passages at verbatim from episodes long since past.

Seasons 1-3 were arguably the strongest of the entire series. Episodes such as 'The Boyfriend', 'The Pen', and 'The Keys' were instant hits. The additional content included in the DVD gift set will satisfy every hard core fan. Festivus has definitely come early this year.
61 G*L*C MUST LIVE!!! Very Spongeworthy!
I would drape myself in velvet while watching the DVDs if it were socially acceptable.

62 U.K. First!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just got back from Scotland and saw all three seaons in stores. What's the deal???!!!!! America made the show, so why isn't it here first??!!! Clearly the greatest show ever and the UK enjoys it before we do. Good job US distributors. Thanks.
63 A must have collection
Seinfeld is hands down the most original, hilarious, and enterntaining shows to ever hit television because every person can relate to it.
I would buy the boxed set for the salt shakers alone, but on top of that I get the complete 3 season too! Wow, what a buy! I strongly recommend buying it.

64 Setting a New Standard
Confirmed by it's huge popularity, Seinfeld took TV Comedy to a new level with truly creative plot lines coupled with likeably imperfect characters sporting delightful personality flaws.

With the release of this set, Seinfeld brings the world of TV DVDs to a new level as well - Will the world ever accept a DVD collection to be packaged without Salt and Pepper Shakers again????
65 It's about time !!!
I, too, have every episode on VCR tape (about 22 of them). I have been waiting for the series to come out on DVD so that I didn't have to do the work of converting to DVD myself.

This has been my favorite tv show since the 1st episode. You have made me a very happy woman !!!!
66 Seinfeld is not funny
Seinfeld is not funny. This show is stupid and pointless which I know a lot of people claim as brilliant, but this show has always and will always bother me. I have no good things to say about this show except that at least they got the janitor from UHF to do something else (be Kramer).
67 Buy this
You probably know now, this is like one of the greatest shows ever made. buy this.

Check out Curb your Enthusiasm too.
68 Does the DVD have spanish subtitles
I just wanna know if the dvd have spanish subtitles
69 Question
Seinfeld is one of the best series in the TV history... but I would like to know if somebody knows if these DVD has Spanish captions (subtitles). Please, help me!
70 Lets Get Nuts!!!
This is quite the abnormal sitcom...it doesn't have a 'growing through the years with the family' type of style...its simple, and the episodes don't really run into each other...the stories are amazing...I watch a lot of shows, reruns in particular...but this is the only one that I can laugh at even after I know the episode in and out...some how, all 4 of the main characters go in a whirlwind adventure that magnifies common life, but yet makes it funny...and make you go...I never thought of that before...and during each adventure (all 4 have one in every episode) they somehow tie into each other, and the stories intersect...and its not the typical 'i thought she was in the room with my roommate doing it, even though they were moaning from lifting something...ala Threes Company'...

its a show about nothing...for example...

George is trying to impress a girl...so he tells her he is a marine biologist...Kramer decides to practice his golf swing on the beach...he stinks at it, but he did get one good shot off into the ocean...later that day, George and his girl are walking along the ocean...and a whale was washed up with a crowd gathering, someone yells out 'is anyone a marine biologist?'...so George, who really likes the girl is forced to help the way..."The sea was angry that day my friend"...George tells his story to his friends (including Kramer), and how he knew something was obstructing the whale's breathing, so he reaches in, and pulls out the obstruction...and he shows his friends...the golf ball Kramer hit earlier..."A hole in one"

I mean that right there beats most shows out, but its even better when you watch it, just because you know how the characters are and their way of showing their adventures...

Jerry is the basic guy, gets girls, but can't stand the little things (he dated a maid...but when he paid her for cleaning his house his friends suggest that its more like a prostituion, she just cleans because she is his girlfriend, but is getting paid for sex)

George is the short tempered, miserable guy, with no patience...and he basically gets screwed over

Elaine is the chick that dates the oddest guys, most memorable being David Putty...she just runs into situations that would annoy any woman, and ends up starting problems unintentionally

Kramer is the neighbor of Jerry, he has been on strike for 12 years, and mooches off of Jerry...he is the whacky character that always makes a memorable appearance and exit

The bottomline though, is that the show is well put together on every episode, and I honestly don't dislike any episode...I don't know what would of happened if they didn't have that particular cast because the chemistry is amazing, and they just fit their character freakishly well...

I mean don't you hate it when you scratch your nose, and a friend is watching from a bad angle and thinks you're picking it? it proves costly in one episode...and how about you go out with a chick with a weird laugh?...and George...man...dating a girl that looks like his friend Jerry...and how the friends tease him and drives him nuts...what can you do?

its just things that are very possible in life, that doesn't have that 'I would of done that instead' affect on you like almost every other show does...its more of a laugh, enjoy, and you simply can't nitpick...

if you don't want all 3 seasons for money wise, and you're uneasy on trying this show out, try one of them, it won't disappoint you, too many memorable moments, episodes...enjoy Seinfeld, only other memorable characters from a sitcom for me is Lowell and Brian from Wings...
71 Thank Heaven!
Yes! Its finaly here! There is really nothing like being able to come home after a really crapy long hard day of work and be able to relax and cuddle up all comfortable on the couch and enjoy Seinfeld after Seinfeld after Seinfeld. No commercials, it doesnt matter if there's a ball game or some TV special or if the President is on interupting the regular showing of re-runs anymore! Cause come November 23th 2004 I will have my copy of the first 3 seasons of one of the greatest shows to ever play on TV! Thank you for making this possible.
72 IT's about time!
Now there are less costing versions of this. But if you want box set one (seasons 1 and two) and box set two (season three) together with a bunch more extras, get this version. Best comedy show ever!
73 THE BEST THING THAT COULD HAPPEN!!
I couldn't wait for this moment to happen. Now finally I can watch the GREATEST show whenever I want. The first three seasons are good and I can't wait for the remaining 5 to come out because I will be the first to buy it! Thank You for finally making these DVD's!!!
74 Best Sitcom ever.....
Easily. No other sitcome even comes close... I knew a couple of people who didn't like Seinfeld that much, but they were just crazy so all good...hehehe
75 I agree, best ever
I agree with Sean Jordan "truemetalfan", 98 was a bad year, Jordan retiring and of course the end of the best show EVER!! I was waiting so long for this, almost bought the homemade ones from another website even after I found out that these were coming out officially, (of course I planned on buying these too, no Seinfeld fan should be without) cause I just didn't think I'd make it without seeing the funniest show and funniest characters I have ever seen. But alas, the time has come for all to rejoice, we don't have to be tied down at certain times to catch comical genius, to have to watch them when others think we should watch them. If there was a fire at my house and I could only save a few things, rest assured all Seinfeld DVDs would see another day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to whoever had the brilliant idea to finally give this to the masses, but I do have to say it's well overdue, being that so many crappy shows are already on DVD. Thank you, thank you. LONG LIVE SEINFELD!!!
76 Happy Festavus for the Rest of Us!!!!!
GET OUT!!!! Finally ... the set I've been waiting for! Now I can throw away the old, nasty vhs tapes I have with the badly recorded Seinfeld shows on them.

Thanks!!
77 Serenity Now, Serenity Now!!!!
Finally, finally, finally. I didn't think they would ever release the best show ever, ever. I watch the reruns just about every day for an hour and a half (3 episodes) and two and a half hours on wednesdays. Now i'll be able to watch it all day, everyday and finally satisfy my insatiable craving for the best written and concieved sitcom of all time. Thank you Seinfeld, thank you for everything.
78 Yada, Yada
Sometimes, all the ingredients are there: originality, great writing, incredible ensemble cast, equally incredible supporting cast, great cameos, topnotch production values..."Seinfeld" is one of those moments when it's all there. And they had the class to quit at the top! Sardonic comedy at it's finest.
79 Well it's about time!
And you want to be my latex salesman?
Thank GOD! I can't wait to get this package!!! HURRAY!

81 What else do I need from the "Jerk Store"?
OH MAN!!11 I had no idea this show was coming to DVD. I was fortunate enough to do a Google search tonight for Seinfeld and saw a link for the DVD. So I came here, to Amazon (where I do most of my shoping, IT ROCKS!) and looked up the Seinfeld DVD, and to my surprise, it was true, the Seinfeld DVD I've been yearning to get my nacho cheese encrusted hands on is finally being released. OH JOY!! My birthday is right around the corner, September 8th(Send presents. I'll be waiting patiently, so hurry up) and now I know what I'm gonna be asking for. Well, it won't be out yet, but I'll be using my B-Day money for the pre-order , as well as buying every other DVD of Seinfeld when it's for sale. This show is well worth the price of admission, and my "hard earned money". To own what is one of the funniest, if not funniest shows ever on TV is priceless. And now that the DVD is coming, I'm set. Actually come to think of it, the release date is closer to Christmas, and I defiantly will be asking for this. Looks like Santy Clause will be receiving an extra helping of cookies laced with LSD, and a tall glass of rat's milk. Wait, Santa won't get it for me, ever since the incident with that jolly old fat #@&$, neither will my friends or family, due to their undying feeling of animosity, and apathy torwards me. Go figure? Hell, I' ll buy it MYSELF, with MY money, and it will be all MINE... Huh? No, officer, never seen it before. Am I driving? Brah. Whoa-What?? Oh well, Hello there. I didn't see you come in. Anywho, Welcome to the radioday crank's review. Take it from this egocentric, deranged, schizophrenic maniac. Get the Seinfeld Gift Set for whatever reason you have, or don't, but be forewarned - Some of my best purchases have been the DVD sets of my favorite shows. There's just something about having every season, and every episode, unedited, ready to watch whenever your lazy ass wants to, without needing to endure the long, annoying and boring (much like my review) commercials that are shown durring the show's reruns. Plus the DVD's extras sound wicked hot. Lets face it, life sucks, and any hope is fastly dwindling, BUT all you need is your favorite music, and TV shows to pass the tedious hours of our sad, insignificant lives away. Wants without needs you may need to sleep. Thanks Seinfeld! This is gonna be cool!!
82 HAPPY FESTIVUS!!!!!!!!!!
Seinfeld is coming out to DVD, i can hardly wait for Nov 23. This should be the greatest dvd of the year!!!!
83 . . . AND THE COUNTDOWN HAS BEGUN
Like everyone else who wants this DVD set, I've been waiting for Seinfeld to be put out for a long, long time. Now that a date has been released and the show is available to be pre-ordered, the torcherous countdown to November 23 has begun. It's not like it's not worth the wait, though. Most shows take a few seasons to reach thier prime, but Seinfeld only took a couple episodes. With classic characters and outstanding performances (it is an outrage that Jason Alexander never won an emmy as George Costanza), Seinfeld ranks among the elite in not only sitcoms, but all of TV history. The phrase "not to be missed" gets thrown around a lot, but Seinfeld is one of the few shows where it applies. I for one will buy every season that becomes available, not matter what the price... and I know I am not alone.
84 I grew up on this show
I was only three years old when Seinfield first aired and I used to watch it when i was around 7. I would watch the new episodes every week and was sad when the show ended. But with the introduction of the DVD box set I can watch all of Seinfield whenever i want and not just reruns. Best decesion every to come out with Seinfield on Box Set. Laugh out loud comedy all the way.
85 Finally it has arrived
I remember 1998 very well. I was just 15 and felt like my world was coming to an end. Michael Jordan was retiring and Seinfeld was airing it's last episode. I thought, what more do I have to live for? Now, if someone told me back then that I would still be watching all the reruns religiously every night 6 years later, i'm not sure I would have believed them.

I have been very tempted to buy these DVD packs made at home by people and then sold on the internet. I guess I just thought it would never be made officially for DVD. But now that it has, oh man am I excited.

Seinfeld is a show I don't think i'll ever grow tired of. I can see myself being 85 years old(hoping that i'm lucky enough or unlucky enough as others may see it to make it to that age) and watching Seinfeld as my grandkids come and sit on my lap asking, "whatcha watching papa?" And i'll of course reply, "Oh nothing dear. It's a show about nothing."
86 The Best Show About Nothing
This is, by far, the best TV Show ever. In every episode, you will find yourlself thinking: "Oh, my god, that is so true...!"

87 Funniest show ever
Only the first season seemed below standards and i am extremely critial of sitcoms and most now and did SUCK!!! But not this one, it was brilliantly written and acted. The characters and cameos are unforgettable. It shows that you dont need some stupid family sitcom with some lame moral to be learned and serious moment crap. It's makes fun of everyone and everything and is just plain funny. Almost everyday i watch the reruns.
88 Best Show Ever
Oh man this show is great, I can't wait to see it on dvd for the billionth time. I think we all can agree Jerry is the man. What's the deal with airplane peanuts--I don't know Jerry, I don't know!!
89 I spot BODGE!!!
Doesnt anybody know if in the one episode where the girl, Elane(?) is dating a BRitsh man and he's kind of a dandy and a rouge always borrowing money. this is a traditional British kind of character back from Shakespear. Anyway, is the ACTor playing him BODGE?!??! Someone told me it was, then someone else said that that person was just messing with me only he used the f word for it. But if is IS Bodge why doesnt he act more. He is funny, PEO-PLE!! Oh, How bout a show Where Bodge is all serious in his suit and beard and Jerry sienfeld go on adventures and situations and at the end jerry says, "Well Bodge, this is another fine mess we're in, thanks to you." And people will laugh because it is a tribute to Laura and Hardy!!

If you like my ides, great, but dont steal it, because its mine.:)
90 The Best Show Ever On TV
Well it's coming. The Best show ever made is going to be out in november and not just seasons 1 & 2 like had first been announced. Now they have added season 3 into the first seinfeld releases. Also in this gift pack you get some nice extra's that any seinfeld fan will love including a script, salt and pepper shakers and playing cards. Great job guys on the amount of extra's the dvd's will be packed with also. Deleted scenes, NBC original episodes (which are 1-2 minutes longer) and Hi-Definition Remastering. Can't wait guys and all i can say is it's about time!
91 Masters Of DVDs
Finally the best show on TV is on the best home format. This TV to DVD transfer is flawless, it lives up to all the hype for such a much anticipated release, it really gives you the features that you look for in a DVD collection; a complete digital and high definition transfer, audio commentaries by the writers, creators, and all four cast members, behind-the-scenes interviews and looks at the making of different episodes, never before seen deleted scenes, production notes, original show bloopers and outakes, a "How It All Began" hour long look at how Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David came up with the idea about nothing and how a show that changed Television history was almost never made, Tonight Show Footage of Jerry Seinfeld and Michael Richards, original NBC promotional ads, trailers and photo gallery, and thats just Volume One! This Gift Set also comes with Volume Two, which features are all this and more! The soveniors that are included in this gift set are a very good touch to it all. The cover art is nice but in my opinion I think they should have used photos taken during the seasons they are covering, but who cares just the fact that this show is actually available on DVD is so perfect, I feel greedy to ask for more. Over all I wish that this is what all companys will do when putting a good show to DVD.

92 cannot wait
About time I now have a new meaning to my life the purchase of this dvd set what more can a man want (elizabeth hurley) maybe
