The AQUOS LC-13E1U with built-in cable TV tuner is less than 3" deep with an elegant design and screen that measures 13" diagonally. And with Sharp's proprietary Advanced Super View LCD panel, it has a higher contrast ratio and wider viewing angles than conventional LCD TVs, making it truly "TV where you want it", for any room in the house! 13" ASV (Advanced Super View) LCD Panel (diagonally measured) is Sharp's proprietary panel with Black TFT low reflection coating. Built-in 181-Channel Tuner allows you to plug your cable TV line right into the TV and start watching. AQUOS Liquid Crystal Televisions are the brightest available, so you can put them anywhere - even near windows, doors or other light sources - and their picture will still be vivid. Image Inverter for Custom Installations allows you to invert the image upside-down or "mirror" image if you need to hang it in an unconventional manner.
Enjoy slim, stylish video images from Sharp's feature-packed, high-tech 13-inch LC-13E1U Aquos screen. The monitor comes with a built-in cable TV tuner and measures less than 3 inches deep. Even when it's positioned near a window or other high-glare location, its proprietary Advanced Super View panel with black TFT antiglare coating makes it bright enough for you to view its brilliant colors with ease.

The LC-13E1U is an Aquos E-series model, which means it has a sleek and minimalist style that's ideal for wall installations, with speakers on the bottom of the TV and a body that's significantly narrower than that of other Sharp Aquos models. It also includes a removable easel-style table stand. With wider horizontal and vertical viewing angles than most LCDs have and a built-in stand that tilts and swivels, the LC-13E1U can be positioned at virtually any angle and you'll be assured of a clear picture. An image-inverting feature even lets you flip the image upside-down or mirror it.

The set features component-video, composite-video, S-video for your DVD player, VCR, or gaming console, an RF antenna input for older VCRs and cable boxes, as well as a cable-ready, built-in 181-channel tuner. An electronic PLL tuner handles over-air reception of TV programming. The monitor's energy-efficient design consumes 60 percent less power than a conventional television with the same-size screen consumes.

beautiful picture, nice and lightweight; I also got the sanus 2 way wall mount which is excellent, strong and I also highly recommend
2 You Won't Find Better 13" LCD
We were looking for an under-cabinet TV for a new kitchen project. We couldn't have found a better choice than Sharp's 13" Aquos.

The white model worked best with our kitchen decor (other choices are silver and black).

The Aquos is incredibly well-designed. You can set it on a surface with the default stand, or mount it to hang under a cabinet with the included mounting kit.

Installation was a little tricky. I really wanted to hide all of the wires and TV cable up under the cabinet. The under-mount includes a stylish, color-coordinated box for this purpose, but getting all of the wires inside was a bit of a challenge. I ultimately made a trip to the hardware store for longer bolts as those included were about 1/2" shorter than needed for the thickness of our counters.

With this small hurdle cleared, I was able to under-mount the Aquos, and then really began to appreciate the design. Wires and cable are completely hidden. The TV cable and electric input flows down through the inside of the swing arm to the back of the TV. The rear of the the Aquos has inputs anything you could connect to a full-sized TV. A snap-on panel reveals the inputs and hides them once you've attached whatever wires you need to connect.

With setup done, sit back and enjoy the Aquos' crisp LCD picture and clear sound. The stylish Aquos is a joy to behold, and quickly becomes the centerpiece of your kitchen.

The Aquos is not just beautiful; it's a perfect marriage of form and function. The LCD rotates 180 degrees left to right, and the swing arm folds up to stash the unit under the cabinet, thus freeing up a little extra cabinet space. I never fold it up, however. It just looks so gorgeous hanging in its normal spot. A stylish remote is included.

Even customer service is great. I had an issue that I couldn't find in the manual (I accidentally reset the audio to receive the Spanish language translation on some channels). I left an e-mail with customer service, but didn't really expect much help. To my surprise I had an e-mail within two hours that solved the problem.

Bravo, Aquos!

3 Great anyplace you don't have a lot of room
This is a fantastic TV! I was a little unsure whether an LCD TV would be OK in a room that gets a lot of sun, but I am most impressed by the brightness of the picture. The colors are vibrant, and the clarity of the picture is amazing. I mounted it to the wall with a Sanus VM2 wall mount, which it allows you to swing out and tilt the TV when you are watching it and push it back flat against the wall when you aren't. It looks fantastic in my kitchen and is very unobtrusive and attractive when laying flat against the wall. I am delighted with this purchase, and found the 13" was plenty big enough for viewing in the kitchen.
4 Perfect for Kitchen
Ideal kitchen counter size, vibrant display color, sharp picture quality and easy set-up characterize the Sharp LC-13E1U Aquous. I debated 13" vs. 15" and am very happy with the stylish 13". Sound quality is exceptional. Recommend highly.
5 Twice the picture size in half the counter space!
Great picture and nice styling, I am very impressed with this Sharp flat panel TV. Lots of features, compact, and reasonably priced. Best of all, Sharp's EASY SET-UP feature had this puppy out of the box, hooked to the cable, and working, in about 10 minutes - fully programmed.
6 Superb 13" LCD television
I purchased this flat panel television in February, 2003 and have been enjoying it immensely for about two months now. I have it connected to regular (non-digital) cable service. First, the picture is vibrant, sharp, and crystal-clear. The picture "pops-out" at you. In fact, the picutre is better than my primary television (Sony Wega 32" Trinitron XBR). The factory pre-settings needed absolutely no adjustment: color, hue, contract, brightness, and sharpness were 100% perfect. I purchased a pivoting, swivel mount arm ... to go with this set. Installation was pretty simple (but it does require stud mounting). As with all flat panels, it needs to be watched from fairly front-on. The sound is quite good, with excellent stereo separation, for such tiny speakers. Logical remote control. A nice feature: when you press the "MUTE" button, the sound goes off (immediately) and the Closed Captioning activates in about 10 seconds -- great for taking a phone call. This would be an excellent choice for a kitchen or bedroom where you would view it from 3 - 8 feet.
