1 A Case of "Give The Devil His Due"
I have to tell you.... this author is really not a writer, BUT he has something to say. It's true about the poor presentation, grammar issues, etc. BUT, like I said the author does have something to say - moreso in everyday layman's language. I believe he could have spent a little money on having it properly published - nicer layout, proofing, etc., BUT even I got the message and I am a very critical person as I teach for a living. It's only 20 bucks! Trust me you have more to gain than lose.

Second point: A regular publisher would indeed have a hard time publishing this book because it promotes the author's business a lot. Books are to be informational, not promotional, that is the biggest flaw I found. The author could have been more subtle about drawing a crowd to his business and website... remember people are buying information, not promotion. In a reader's mind the intense promotional content dimished the quality and credibility of the work. Just take a look at some of the reviews here.

Overall, I do recommend you spend the $20 because information on this subject is not cheap... just check out the other books available on Amazon or other book sites... I bought it and resold it as soon as I was done, so I lost nothing, and it sold fast... One thing is for sure, there are a lot of people who will pay more for this kind of information... I paid $10,000 for a 2 day course in Los Angeles, and got less out of that than I have from this $20 book. Check it out for what it is worth.... and by the way, it is not easy work to write a book - so give the devil his due... Happy reading.
2 Best book on the subject
When I saw the last posting of the guy trying to hurt the sales of this book I had to say something.

This book is the best source I could find on the subject. It gave me a behind the scenes look at the profession of mortgage broker. When I first got the book, I couldn't put it down.

If you are seriously interested in this business, try asking people already in the business about it. Chances are they will either discourage you or not tell you anything. That is what happened to me. I visited 3 different companies, and they all told me the same thing - "Get your license, then we can hire you." They did not explain anything of how I get paid, or how much I can earn- nothing.

This book did that and a lot more. I learn how a mortgage broker makes money, what he does all day, how the mortgage industry works, and how to go about getting my license and training.

The 16 interviews at the back with current loan officers also helped alot. They shared their own true life experiences and gave personal advice.

I liked the book so much I went to the author's website and emailed him a testimonial. I wasn't the first. He has several testimonials from happy readers.

if you are seriously considering being a mortgage broker, don't let someone else's bigotry stop you from getting the knowledge you need. Plus, if you don't like the book, amazon will probably take it back.
3 I should have know.
I really wouldn't usually waste my time writing a book review, but this is a warning rather than a review. This book is nothing more than an advertisement for the author's on-line brokerage school. The redundancies and grammatical errors in this "book" make it even more insulting. Take my advice and save your $20.
4 Advertising for his web page
My book came misbound -- the cover was upside down and pages went from back to front like an arabic book.

1/3 of the book is filled with some survey material that typically said: I've been a mortgage broker for x years and I really, really like it. I make money and you can too.

The rest of book can be condensed into 2 or 3 pages of info that isn't completely obvious. The remainder is a subtle suggestion that the author's web site has more books that are even more fantastic!

Very poor book.
5 Another winner
This book helped me decide if being a loan officer was what I really wanted to be. The people in the business already are not too keen on helping a new guy out. But this author gives all the details. I have also bought his other products at his website: www.mortgagebrokertraining.com, and have nothing but good things to say. I love this business, and having someone like Ameen to show the way and be a mentor has made a huge difference in my income. If not for him and his marketing tools, I would probably still be struggling.

If you think mortgage brokerage might be for you, there is no better place to start than this book. And then keep learning and educating yourself.
6 Informative
I've decided to get into the business because I find it fascinating, challenging and I could put my creative talents to work for me. I also want to help people live and realize their "American Dream." This book, though basic covered a lot of answers that I tried to ask other mortgage professionals who never returned my emails or phone calls. Probably because they are asked the same questions a lot and don't want to be bothered. I do recomend this book because it does answer your questions. I also recomend that you don't wait to be trained by a mortgage professional. Find a real estate school or order a course, be informed. Also go to the fannie mae website and download a copy of the 1003 form. Get acqainted with it. Its going to be the form you'll see for the life of your career. In summary, yes this book surprised me and answered a lot of questions I have. And it did help me to realize I've made a good career move. The interviews in the back of the book are also very helpful. The price is right too. On the kamadia's website www.mortgagebrokertraining.com the book goes for $30 in ebook from and $40 for printed book form. Amazon sells it for $17.95
If you want to look into a great correspondant course that comes with DVD's go to www.loanofficerschool.com. Read the entire website. I've looked into other correspondant and virtual training and the loan officer school is the only one that comes with teaching DVDs or VHS. It'll cost you around $485 plus shipping but its a small price to pay for a thorough course. I have no affiliation with them just that I ordered the course from them.
7 Excellennt information
I found this book very helpful. I had talked to several mortgage brokers and loan officers but they could not give me information I found in this book. I will reccomend everyone to get a copy who is thinking of becoming a mortgage sales person.
