Memory Stick PRO is the same size as original Memory Stick (a little smaller than a stick of gum!), yet it can hold a lot more data and transfer information at even faster rates. It's a great way to record, save, and transfer digital images, MPEG movies, and music. Most of the newer Sony cameras and camcorders are compatible with Memory Stick PRO. Note: These media cards can only be used with products designed to accommodate Memory Stick PRO. They are not compatible with products designed only for original Memory Stick.
1 Memory Stick Pro - Not Compatible with Older Sony Products

I didn't, and found out the hard way about in-compatibility after purchasing and trying the "Pro" stick in my older camera ... caveat emptor.
My nephew is now the proud owner of a 1GB memory stick ... it works in his camera. Now I have to decide to either buy 8 of the 128MB (the largest memory compatible with my camera) or consider a replacement camera.
