The new Psyc CD Radio Cassette Recorder sounds as good as it looks. The rounded, compact design allows for easy portability and storage, and features like Jog Dial, Sleep/Wake Timer and Mega Bass Sound give you maximum performance and versatility. Enjoy great sound and style with the CFD-E90PSBLK.
Sony's stylized, gleam-black CFD-E90PS PSYC CD/radio cassette recorder offers sweeping round curves and versatile media playback so your tunes can go almost anywhere you do. The 2.3-watts-per-channel boombox is equipped with a jog dial to help you make clock adjustments and quickly select the CD tracks you're looking for. Its one-bit digital-to-analog audio converter includes 8x oversampling for pristine, accurate sound. And, the CFD-E90PS's digital AM/FM stereo tuner boasts 30-station memory presets (20 FM, 10 AM).
With synchronized CD/cassette dubbing, CD playback commences just after cassette recording begins. The stereo record/playback cassette deck provides direct recording from either the tuner or the CD player. Other features include Mega Bass sound for low-frequency enhancement, 20-track CD programming, and a sleep/wake timer with variable settings so you fall asleep or wake to CD or radio. The CFD-E90PS also comes with a color-matched remote control, and a .125-inch headphone jack affords private listening.
Power the device through the extended power cord, or use 6 C batteries for true portability. The remote control requires 2 AAA batteries, and a clock- and memory-setting back-up features uses 3 AA batteries (no batteries included). When using batteries, expect about 7 hours of CD playback or 15 hours of cassette play or 20 hours of radio use. The boombox includes a telescopic FM antenna and built-in ferrite-bar antenna for AM radio reception.

1 Terrible Boom Box!!
The only problem with this boom box is its cd player. The first time I inserted a disc, it wasn't playing at all. It kept spinning and spinning and trying to read the cd but was unable to. I really do not know what is the fault with a brand new player but I was totally frustrated and disappointed after spending my money on it as I needed a player that was portable and yet looks good. To this day I am fortunate that everytime it reads no disc, I would open the hatch and slam it hard with the cd inside hoping it would play and it did. But sometimes it didn't so I had to do this several times and just standing there waiting for it to play and only then I could walk away from it. I would not recommend this player to anyone unless you wanna try your luck. I think the problem is that it was made in CHINA!!!
2 Excellent.
This is ideal for college students such as myself. Great sound quality (especially at high volumes), great multiple functions (DIGITAL radio tuner, and a tape player/recorder!), great bass, light weight and portability, discreet carrying handle, and best of all, A REMOTE!!
Oh, and it looks so clutch, especially because of the black casing contrasting with the fluorescent green parts.
3 Sony's Quality Severely Lacking
I went through 2 of these units in one week before returning the second one and getting something entirely different. While this unit has compact size, decent sound, CD, cassette, and radio functions, it seems that there is a recurring problem with the CD player. I'm not the only one who found the unit displaying "no disc" even though a good disc was inserted (I've read others' reviews which commented on the same flaw). The first unit I tried did this in less than a week and after no more than 4 CDs; the second did it right out of the box. I can't recommend anyone wasting their time on this unit, Sony has some serious design flaws here!
4 A nice system
I just bought the Sony Psyc CD Radio and have been very pleased with it. It has a nice compact design and great sound for such a small box. Only one minor complaint, the digital display is a little small. Overall it is a great box for the bedroom or to carry with you.
