The D-EJ100PSBLK features extended battery life, full circle design, and a clip-on style remote control. PSYC is back with a vengeance!Extended battery life, full circle design, and a clip-on style remote control... the PSYC CD Walkman delivers it all. The D-EJ100PSBLK offers over 50 hours of continuous playback with 2 "AA" batteries. Its full circle design is slim and compact, and has a fresh stylish look. The clip-on style remote control makes it easy to operate, and can be attached to a bag, belt, or whatever. Includes Digital Mega Bass Sound, Skip Free G-Protection Technology and 10 playback modes.
Sony's PSYC D-EJ100PS Walkman portable CD player augments its great sound and extensive features with a stylish, full-circle, gleam-black exterior. And at a mere .94 inches thick, this Walkman lives up to its name, traveling with ease in pocket, purse, or backpack. Playback options include 32-track programming, repeat (track, disc, or program), random play, and an amazing 50 hours of playback from a pair of standard AA batteries (not included). A PSYC-styled clip-on remote makes it easy to operate the player while you're on the go, and Sony's "h.ear" clip-on headphones are designed for streamlined comfort.
"Active use" is a key phrase for this player: Sony's Skip-Free G-Protection boosts the laser pickup's shock protection to minimize read errors that would otherwise interrupt your music, providing quick recovery from both horizontal and vertical shocks. The D-EJ100PS's heat-resistant lid helps protect the player against high-temperature build up, especially when you're using it outdoors or in a vehicle.
You can hook the player up with your home system through an analog stereo "Y" interconnect. Should your music require it, the Walkman's Digital Mega Bass Sound engages digital processing to enhance your music with deep, authentic bass tones.
Bookmark playback lets you program your favorite songs from multiple CDs and play them back at the touch of a button, and Sony's automatic volume limiter system (AVLS) conserves batteries--and guards your hearing--by capping your listening level at either of two settings. The player may be used with optional AC/DC power adapters (AC-E45HG or -E45A) or car accessories (vehicle power cord: DCC-E345 or -E34CP, car kit CPA-9).
What's in the Box
CD player, headphones, a remote control, a user's manual, and warranty information.
1 A great Cd Player....Almost
I loved this cd player. The Sony Psyc Walkman played great quality music and was at a price i could afford. I did buy new headphones for it because i didnt like the h.ear headphones that came with it. I've been using this product for a year, and one day it just died on me. JUST DIED! I'm sorry if I am being overly dramatic but I really trusted Sony on this, and I loved the quality of it and everything, but after one year the player stopped working. When I would close the lid it would barely make a couple of lines out on the LCD which is supposed to say DISC. But when I press play nothing works. If someone had a problem like this and fixed it, please tell me how because I really want to have my cd player back!!!
2 great for the price
i really like this cd player.it has all the qualities i need. its compact enough to fit in a pocket. the batteries last a long time. the sound is clear and unlike many cd players in its price range there is no hum, hiss, or squeak during playback. mega bass is a great help to the sound quality. my favorite feature was the g protection. this player never skips. then i realized i hadn't even turned on the g-protection. this player is so good it wont skip even with it off. i even tried to shake it like crazy and it still played perfectly. i would recommend this player for people who want an inexpensive but decent quality cd player. i would suggest the now warranty to go with it. from experience sony products tend to have problems with the earphone jack connections so for $6.00 the warranty is worth it.it only gets four stars because the remote is pretty flimsy and if you wear glasses like i do the earphones are unusable.
3 Defective CD Player
I purchased this cd player for my teenage son for Christmas. He barely got to use it and one day it just stopped working. Apparently, there was oxidation inside the cd player and since it had been more than 30 days since it was purchased, I was unable to return it. Good luck.
4 Jog Proof
After becoming fed up with CD players that pause or skip while I'm jogging, or even walking, I found this particular Sony player at Best Buy and gave it a try. So far, so good. It has not skipped or paused once.
Other than that, my favorite aspect of this player is the large play and stop buttons. They are positioned in a ring around the center of the player, and make it easy to start and stop the CD. No more searching for the play button. Also, the hold switch on the back makes it posible to shove the player in my coat pocket without worrying about hitting the wrong button. The ear phones that come with it are comfortable and the volume range meets my needs quite well. Also, as previously noted by other reviewers, this unit is not a battery sucker. So far, my first set of generic AAs has lasted over 6 hours, and still going strong. My single complaint about this player is the switch to open the CD holder. It's a bit confusing, and I always have to search for it. It is located on the side of the player, and is colored black, just like the outer casing of the player. Not a good design. Also, the volume control buttons are very small. Rather than a rotary type knob, this unit features two buttons labeled + and -. You almost need a sharp fingernail or pin to push the right button.
If you are looking for a CD player to use while exercising, I highly recommend this one. Good job, Sony.
5 Excellent
This is a fantastic item. Got it for my 19 yr old daughter for Christmas. Had to find something in her taste and my price range. This fits the bill. Great sound, great headphones, she loves the remote control and the color too. Highly recommend it.
6 WOW! AMAZING! SPEECHLESS!
Whoa, I bought this CD player as a gift for myself, and when i tried it, it was the BomB!
The CD player-Very slim, lightweight design, visible LCD display, cool design.
EarPhones- Well, i dont think the earphones are that amazing, because they always tangle up-it takes a nice long One Min to untie it ( a minor setback )
Remote-The remote buttons are kind of small but there ok, it has the Skip,Back,Stop,Pause and Vol. Level.
Long lasting BATTERYS- Was I amaized, the other CD players i bought only had 8hr of playing, this one has 50hr+ of playing, that saved me $$money$$.
Durability/Skip System- I had dropped this player 2 times, and nothing went wrong!!! The anti-skip/G-Protection does'nt have to be USED! No matter if you drop it, bump it, throw it, this thing does'nt skip AT ALL!
I hope this was helpful to you anxious buyers and have a merrry Christmas
7 "Psyc" me out
I actually get very surprised when Sony comes out with a new "Psyc" cd player design every year because of the improvements that Sony makes. This year, the design is more thinner and is more of a circle shape with the buttons on top of the cd player rather than on the side. The best part is the new addition of the attached remote control so you can change the tracks while it's in your pocket.
This new design is great and I have not had any problems with it at all. This year I think Sony made the "Psyc" cd player pocket friendly so that you wouldn't have to hold it in your hand because the cd does not skip while it's playing in your pocket. One more thing to mention, it's a very good price for an excellent cd player!
8 The utimate cd player!
First there is one thing that dying to get out of me folks, this cd player is awesome!
Buttons:
the buttons of this cd player are very creative, if you see the yellow-green circle in the middle of the player with the LCD display around it is a white circle. In the circle there are all the main buttons : stop, play/pause, fast forwar, and of course rewind.
The shape: this cd player is very thin even though thoses top of line cd/mp3/fm are thinner this one is small almost just the size of a cd! I even get confused is that the cd player or the cd? *wonder how that happened*
The remote:
the remote that comes with it is very small which makes it pratical! There is just one draw back is that on the bottem of the remote is where you put your headphones so it gets a little bunky, but after about 20 min you dont even notice it.
the sound!
The sound of this thing is awesome man! But make sure you put the bass on or else you aint getting have the music guys!
the durbility!
this thing wouldnt skip in a life time even if you put the g protection off to save batterys it wont skip no matter what and i have dropped my player lots of times already nothing! no damages!.
the batterys!
you put the batterys where the cd goes you open the lid under the cd so if that lid might for *some reason* break no preblem no duck no nothing. underneith the player from the batterys is a little bumb but is acuual handy it serves as a little stand!
the headphones provided:
th headphones provide i would say are aroiund good they are comfortable in a way but the sound is not to great try some panasonic earbuds thoses are great!
I think thats all i gave it 4 starsts because the head phones are the best even though they look awesome!
IMPOTANT: if you have any questions at all about the player or if you are planing to get a logitech duo optical keyboard just e-mail me right up at cutter416@hotmail.com please label the e-mail: questions from amazon and make sure there is nothing to open or download becuase then i will delet it thinkg its a virus.
thanks you guys!
9 4.5 stars, actually...
Good buy. I hate spending ridiculous amounts of money on portable CD players with the radio, car attachment, etc. Do we really need those? Guess some people do. I didn't so didn't want to pay for stuff I don't use. Anyhow...
This is a reasonable price for a great little piece of machine. Sony has always been a brand to trust for these gadgets and they live up to the name here.
I agree the volume buttons are too small but the other buttons are placed quite nicely to reduce accidently bumping them. Other cool features:
- when you hit stop, it will return to where you left off when you hit play again.
- extra bass settings to give you a bit more.
- decent headphones that look like headsets for cell phones which comes in handy when, well, you need to look like you're using a headset.
- nice, compact size.
- not advocating loudness, but has a higher range than previous models, without sacrificing quality of sound.
-and battery life! I have been using the same AA batteries for over eight hours. Don't know if it's the batteries (and they aren't Duracell or Energizer) but they have been going for hours on end. Most other CD players I've had burn through them in no time. This one doesn't.
- and if you are looking for one more good reason, there is a 'hold' button on the bottom that disables all of the buttons so you won't accidently turn it off or fast forward or something.
If you're looking for a good CD player for a decent price, this one fits the bill.
10 excellent choice for bargain hunters
if you're on a budget; or love burning CD's the EJ100 is an excellent choice, it's got a cool, stylish design, great sound and INCREDIBLE BASS! of note are also the stylish and functional earphones and the remote which fits the bill nicely. overall this is an excellent choice for those only willing to withdraw $50 from their budgets.
11 much better than had anticipated
I bought this CD player about 5 days ago and while it is very good, there were two things that I thought should be mentioned. One is that every time you pause your CD, it makes a loud, piercing beeping noise until you un-pause it, which is no huge factor, but it can become quite irritating after awhile. Second, the volume is either at a low decible or muted, which is also not huge, but on my previous player, it had a scroll type volume controller, which I think is better than buttons.
But, despite those two factors, Sony's Psyc CD player is a very good piece of equipment.
12 Well Done Sony
I have had this walkman for only two weeks and I am definately not returning it. I love music and I wanted a great walkman and I found it. This model is a good buy because the remote is handy and no matter how much the walkman shakes and bumps I still get a crystal clear sound. There is only one con to the sony psyc walkman, the volume buttons on the main thing are too small. The remote volume buttons are bigger than the the ones on the walkman. I strongly recommend this walkman!!!!!
