The next soundwave has hit... the PSYC CD Walkman. Featuring extended battery life, full circle design, and a clip-on style remote control, the D-EJ100PSWHI has great form and function. It offers over 50 hours of continuous playback with 2 "AA" batteries. The full circle design is slim and compact, and has a fresh stylish look. The clip-on style remote control makes it easy to operate, and can be attached to a bag, belt, or whatever. Includes Digital Mega Bass Sound, Skip Free G-Protection Technology and 10 playback modes.
Sony's PSYC D-EJ100PS augments its great sound and extensive features with a stylish, full-circle, flare-white exterior. And at a mere .94 inches thick, this Walkman lives up to its name, traveling with ease in pocket, purse, or backpack. Playback options include 32-track programming, repeat (track, disc, or program), random play, and an amazing 50 hours of playback from a pair of standard AA batteries (not included). A PSYC-styled clip-on remote makes it easy to operate the player while you're on the go, and Sony's "h.ear" clip-on headphones are designed for streamlined comfort.

"Active use" is a key phrase for this player: Sony's Skip-Free G-Protection boosts the laser pickup's shock protection to minimize read errors that would otherwise interrupt your music, providing quick recovery from both horizontal and vertical shocks. The D-EJ100PS's heat-resistant lid helps protect the player against high-temperature build up, especially when you're using it outdoors or in a vehicle.

You can hook the player up with your home system through an analog stereo "Y" interconnect. Should your music require it, the Walkman's Digital Mega Bass Sound engages digital processing to enhance your music with deep, authentic bass tones.

Bookmark playback lets you program your favorite songs from multiple CDs and play them back at the touch of a button, and Sony's automatic volume limiter system (AVLS) conserves batteries--and guards your hearing--by capping your listening level at either of two settings. The player may be used with optional AC/DC power adapters (AC-E45HG or -E45A) or car accessories (vehicle power cord: DCC-E345 or -E34CP, car kit CPA-9).

1 This CD Player is GREAT!!!!!
When I bought this CD Player, it was my first, and it didn't dissapoint me. The sound quality kicks ass and it has nice looks. The remote can be a little touchy if u put it where it can hit against something, but you can always put the hold on. All in all, it's a great buy!
2 Zoomer.
I've had this cd player for about 2 months now, and it's yet to give me a single problem. And you know what? The two batteries I put in it back in December...are still working, and it displays the battery icon at a full 3/3. That alone should warrant a purchase. I've went through a few cd players in the past few years, and none of them compare to this baby. It looks damn good, has a sleek design...like a puma, and the bass boost kicks Ewok-ass. I mean, Christ, my last cd player's bass boost only had one level, and it barely made the bass stand out. But here, it's about as loud as the vocals on some albums, if not louder. I'm not even going to attempt to use the boost on a Primus album or anything of that caliber. It may not be a big deal for some, but I also really like the little remote-type thing attached to the headphones for quicker access from time to time. If the player's in my pocket or something, I just leave the remote free and hit whichever button I need. There are also volume and hold buttons on it. Very nice.

Like I already said, it looks damn good. You can get this in either black and green, or white and orange. I went for the white/orange mix if only for how classy it looks. It's how cd players are supposed to look. Not big bulky ones that take up 4 batteries. A few people have complained about the LCD screen being easily scratched. Yeah, if you throw it against the pavement or something. Right now, I'll scratch at it with my nails and...oh look, NOTHING HAPPENED. Sheesh. But all LCD screens get scratches over time, that's just how it goes. And it's not hard to reed the text on it either.

I don't know what more to say. This is a great deal for those of us that don't make the jump over to mp3 players. It's loud, looks cool, and even the default headphones are tolerable.
3 It is the best ever!
I have to use my old walkman for a long time until couple months ago, when I get to buy a new one...this one! This thing is just perfect...I can play like, twenty or more CD's without changing the batteries. Also, I tried running away from some strange looking mens while listening to the music using this walkman, and there aren't a single pause. It just totally rock...I just don't know how to review a electronic, since this is my first time.

But I recommend this to be your new portable cd player.
4 Great cd player, few problems though
I think this is a great cd player. There are only two major problems that i had with it. First of all when i would put the volume on full blast and turn the bass on the sound would get distorted. Second, i have gone through three of these. I only paid for one because i got a extended warranty for 10 bucks from best buy(which is something to consider if you buy it). all of a sudden the cd player stopped working. it would read the disc and then turn off and it wasnt a battery problem either. all this happened after two months of use, and i kept mine in very good condition. so if this is a good buy, jsut get an extended warranty so you can exchange it for free.
5 Yeah It Rocks!
This is the only thing that wont brake or freeze in ice.( Never try freezing it in ice oops!)
6 Great sound quality - a worthwhile purchase
I was disappointed when my first Sony Walkman broke after just six months of use. It hadn't been subjected to much rough handling (I routinely carried it to and from school in my backpack), yet for some reason I could only hear sound coming out of one side of my headphones. I tried other sets of headphones but the problem persisted. So I exchanged my young walkman for this model, and so far I've been quite pleased. The sound quality with the iPod-like earphones is crystal-clear, although rather loud - anyone who needs to turn the wolume above 4 must be deaf. Just like my old walkman, this one has a bass booster, perfect for guitar-driven rock songs and the like. One setback is that the headphone cords routinely get tangled and it takes a good minute or so to straighten them out, but this is a pretty minor flaw. Also, the clip-on remote control is essentially useless - it only exacerbates the tangling problem, and is actually much easier to just use the buttons on the unit. The battery box is located inside the walkman rather than outside - a nice touch, assuring that your batteries won't come flying out in the event of an accidental drop. I only wish this model had a radio or MP3 player included - that would make it an ideal Walkman. But as far as just playing CDs, you can't do much better than this one.
7 REAlLY COOL
This discman is such a cool discman. as you can see from the pictures amazon.com provided, it looks like there is no next of previes song buttons. But its kinda like the ipod. Insted of little tiny buttons its in a shape of a cirlce and its nice big buttons so cool
realy durable get this
8 Almost Perfect
I bought this to replace a 7 year old Sony Walkman CD. The old unit had been dropped a couple of times and eventually became annoying, (pausing at random moments, skipping songs, etc.) I think the old one was a good unit, it just couldn't take all my abuses. I didn't think a "sports" model would survive any better, since it is just the same thing, but water resistant.

This model runs well, reads burnt CD-R without a problem, and sounds 50% better than other brands in the same price range. They put the AA battery pocket inside the CD lid instead of under it, so I can leave the duct-tape replacement cover out of this one. It appears to be more frugal with batteries

I only gave it four stars for two design flaws. The clip-over-the-ears earphones are not an improvement over the older headphones. They tangle, the bass is a little thinner, and they don't cooperate with the earpieces of my glasses. The other flaw is the colored cover over the LCD window. The bright orange plastic makes it harder to read the LCD and I think it will be the first thing to get scratched, making reading even harder.

This will be my third Sony CD player in about 12 years. The sound and durability still make it a good buy for the money.
