Built-in AM/FM Digital Tuner with TV/Weather Bands 51 Station Preset Memory (30FM/10AM/4WB/7TV) Clip-on Style Remote Control Supplied Full Circle Design CD-R/RW Playback Skip-Free1 G-Protection
Spin your commercial CDs, your recordable music CDs, or listen to the radio, TV, or weather-band transmissions with Sony's versatile, full-circle D-FJ200. And, at a mere .97 inches thick, this Walkman lives up to its name, traveling with ease in your pocket, purse, or backpack. Playback options include 32-track programming, repeat (track, disc, or program), random play, and an amazing 48 hours of playback--70 when listening to radio only--from a pair of standard AA batteries (not included).
Sony's Skip-Free G-Protection boosts the laser pickup's shock protection to minimize read errors that would otherwise interrupt your music, providing quick recovery from both horizontal and vertical shocks. The D-FJ200's heat-resistant lid helps protect the player against high-temperature build up, especially when you're using it outdoors or in a vehicle.
The D-FJ200 offers a whopping 51 station presets, which works out to 30 FM, 10 AM, 4 WB, and 7 TV stations so you're never far from your favorite channels. You can hook the player up with your home system through an optional analog stereo "Y" interconnect. Should your music require it, the Walkman's Digital Mega Bass Sound engages digital processing to enhance your music with deep, authentic bass tones.
Bookmark playback lets you program your favorite songs from multiple CDs and play them back at the touch of a button, and Sony's automatic volume limiter system (AVLS) conserves batteries--and guards your hearing--by capping your listening level at either of two settings. A handy clip-on remote control lets you operate the player with ease, even when you're on the run.

1 Excellent product Sony DFJ200
I've had this product for months now. I have to tell you, I've had no problems with this CD player. And it really withstands all the drops I've made to it. I dropped this accidently countless times and it is still a fantastic product. I recommend it.
2 CD Player has No Line Out for use in car
Previous to this CD Player, I had the Sony D-FJ61, which included a line out for use in the car if you have only a cassette player. I have the Sony cassette adapter for CD Player, but with the D-FJ200, there is unfortunately no line out slot to attach the adapter to. The CD player itself plays fine, but I'm returning it for lack of a line out.
3 Not MP3 compatible!
ARGH!
Silly me for not reading the fine print. I sort of assumed that all CD players of this price range would be MP3 compatible. NOT! Why the heck anybody would make a CD player that isn't MP3 compatible in this day and age is beyond me.
The sound quality and construction of this thing are pretty good, better than the Panasonic equivalent. Hence two stars instead of one. But the Panasonic plays MP3s!
Have not been able to get much radio reception out of this thing. I do live in a pretty hilly area, and reception in general is pretty bad; however, my el cheapo clock radio does better than this CD player.
Anyway, this thing is going back to Circuit City, pronto....
4 How about a REAL review?
Some of the reviews here sound like they were churned out by David Manning-like frauds. Anyway, this is Sony's best cd walkman in awhile. Their previous premium model, the D-FJ787 was a piece of junk because the tuning and playback controls could only be accessed using an external, wired remote control you had to plug your headphones into to listen - resulting in a MESS of wires. Fortunately Sony moved the controls back onto the player and I must say, they are creatively placed on rings around the center of the lid's face. The only thing I don't like about this player is the digital display: it does not give you an accurate seconds playback (off by a second). A minor complaint but it shouldn't deter you from picking one of these up.
5 Needs other headphones
With the provided headphones, radio reception is poor. With a $50 aftermarket set of headphones, its pretty good for strong stations. For weaker stations or those with nearby competition, you have to find the right place to listen.
Volume is good.
Controls are awful, especially for setting the preset radio stations. Instructions are very poor.
6 Great product for the price
I have been a customer of Sony for years now and they have not let me down. I bought this cd player to replace my old one. Mind you the old one is still kicking. I just banged it up a bit and needed a replacement. The reception is great, there's no skipping, and everything works wonderfully. It has great bass boost. Overall,I'm sticking with Sony . They are an A+ company and they make excellent products. Kudos to you Sony!!!
7 Another Score for Sony
The Sony CD Walkman with AM\TV\weather digital tuner and remote control is great. For one thing its a sony. Its display is much bigger than its predicessor. I have banged it up so much in my back pack that most other cd players would stop working. The remote is highly useful if you are going to put it in a case.(you can execute most functions without even touching the unit) The battery life is amazing. I have put jeneric brand bateries in it about two months ago and it still has enough juice to last another two. Both functions (radio and cd) both work great. The radio gets amazing reception and the cd produces smooth sound like a Bose system. The stereo headphones it comes with are great. This item is truly great and is suitable for anyone over eight years old. Dont mess with any other brand but sony. Its price will pay for it self.
8 Overall Excellence awarded to Sony once again
I just bought this CD player, liking the TV and WB features. I had a D-F200, pretty much the same thing as this, except minus the TV and WB functions. I had beat it up pretty bad, so I bought a new one. This one looks sturdier. There are 2 lid hooks,as opposed to 1, which I liked, having there being almost no chance of it opening up on a drop like my old one. Although the buttons are a bit small on the actual unit, the remote is a nice secondary control - great for nighttime listening. Excellent sound for CD playing. Superb reception overall for most stations. One complaint though, I am having trouble receiving any Weatherbands. Are these for certain areas or times? I have no clue. O well, I guess that is what the radio is for. I recommend this CD Player for anyone looking for that snazzle little feature, TV reception. I like it, and I bet you will too.

My CD Walkman is the best buy I could have made, the remote is the best.
12 Great Walkman for Teens
I bought this walkman for my son's 8th Grade graduation. He loved it not only because it has radio and cd options but also the tv option. He found it so cool... I loved it because my son is a ruff kid and this walkman holds up to his ruffness. Great sound, great price.
13 This is an good product but the radio is just poor
i brought this a week ago and its relly a good cd player.
every thing works just fine but the radio just doen't do it.
also the cost it a little too high for this product.
i will still consiter you to buy it if you don't use the radio that much.
