The Sony Ericsson T637 features a built-in digital camera, Bluetooth, multimedia messaging, polyphonic ringtones, and tons of ways for you to personalize its look and feel. Quality materials and a large and super-clear color display give this phone its sophisticated personality. It's the perfect complement to AT&T wireless service.
Design
The phone features a bright, clear 128 x 160 screen with 65,536 colors. It offers high contrast, saturated colors, and a fast response time that's optimal for displaying games and other moving content. The stylish candybar form factor of the phone will turn heads and get attention, while the quick camera buttons and easy-to-use center control toggle make it a snap to operate the T637. Charging and data connectivity are provided on the bottom of the phone, while an infrared transmitter for synchronizing contacts and data is housed on the top of the device. Meanwhile, the phone's CIF-resolution (352 x 288) camera is housed on the back panel.
Calling Features
When you're calling, you'll enjoy essential features like redial, vibrating alert, speed dialing, and side volume keys, as well as choice extras like sleep mode, menu shortcuts, keypad lock, SIM card lock, voice control, and status view. Create your own ringtones with the built-in MusicDJ using a library of pre-loaded instruments, rhythms, and melodies. Further, the phone's 32-voice polyphonic ringtones make your incoming calls sound like music to your ears. Use the ringtones that come with your phone or download new ones from AT&T's mMode mobile Internet service. And because the T637 has Bluetooth built in, you can use a wide array of Bluetooth-compatible headsets for total wireless freedom.
Messaging, Internet and Tools
The T637 has all the bases covered when it comes to messaging. Support is built in for sending and receiving text, graphics and sound via messages. Multimedia messaging (MMS) lets you compose your messages using images, sounds and text. Sony-Ericsson's QuickShare feature, meanwhile, lets you share content with other devices, other phones, even your computer--just drag and drop pictures from your PC to your phone. Instant messaging is also supported and the phone ships with a built-in email client (AT&T messaging charges apply). T9 text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit-- a plus for mobile email and text messaging users.
Getting on the Internet is easy with the T637, as well. It supports the GPRS protocol for speedy downloads and wireless Web access. AT&T's mMode service lets you receive and send emails, read news headlines, get sports scores, download games and ringtones, and more.
The T637's Bluetooth capability lets you connect, wirelessly, to a laptop, a PDA, or another Bluetooth phone, and users of Apple computers can synchronize their calendars and contact information with the T637 using iSync, Apple's free synchronization software.
A number of handy tools come with the phone, including a memo pad, a calculator, business card exchange, a calendar, and a tasks list. There's also a full-featured clock, which includes a stopwatch, an alarm, and a handy timer.
Imaging and Entertainment
The camera T637's camera couldn't be easier to operate, with just one click to activate it and another to take a picture. Want to view your pictures on your computer screen? The T637 can automatically enlarge pictures to VGA size (480 x 640 pixels). Software included in the phone recalculates picture size without sacrificing quality.
Mobile gaming has never looked better than on the T637's high quality screen. Force and sound feedback guarantees full-throttle fun. The T637 comes with a variety of embedded games, including the legendary racing game V-Rally 2, and many more are available for download.
Vital Statistics
The Sony-Ericsson T637 weighs 3.26 ounces and measures 4.02 x 1.69 x 0.67 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 9 hours of digital talk time, and up to 300 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the GSM/GPRS 800/1800/1900 frequencies. The phone comes with a one year limited warranty.

1 Good One.. surely not the Best one
The colour of the phone is absolutely great when compared to its prior model T610. The screen resolution is good, but the photos taken with the camera doesn't come well, ofcourse it solves the tiny purposes on the go. Bluetooth connectivity is great.. I have a good time making it synchronize with my laptop and also transfer the images across. Over all, its a great phone at a great deal (I got $200 back :))
2 It only gets more annoying
I won't say there aren't any positives to the phone, but there are some annoying features of the phone that get more annoying.
Slow and clunky interface
The joystick doesn't help -- it never seems to understand down vs. center push when you want it to. Don't expect to have some flexible ways to call or view contacts.
Speaker Location
I've needed to put the phone just at the right spot on my ear, otherwise I can't hear the sound (which is pretty good when you can hear it)
Random Feedback
If you have your stereo system on, you'll get some feedback and think you'll have an incoming call. But no, your phone's causing feedback for no reason at all. Don't leave this phone near your monitor.
3 Average
I purchased this phone when moving to Cingular. The Nokia I wanted was on backorder so I figured I would give another vendor a shot. I had the phone for a week, and it was OK, but it just didn't cut it for me. I wasn't fully satisfied, so I sent it back for the purchase of a Nokia 6230. If I hadn't been previously exposed to the world of Nokia, I might have stuck with the phone. But, I knew what I was missing (features, interface, usability, etc.) and had to turn back.
Notable Pros:
- seamless Bluetooth integration with Mac OS X iSync (Address Book, iCal)
- voice dialing (I did not try this feature)
- nice color screen
- T9 text input (I personally prefer Multi-Tap, but some may prefer this feature)
Notable Cons:
- the software on the phone lagged! I would press a button and it would take a second or two to react. This is probably the biggest reason I returned the phone.
- the interface is clunky, and seems to require several extra steps to get to the items you want (e.g. text messaging, phone numbers)
- battery life seemed short. I'm not really a big talker, so a battery usually lasts me a week. It was lasting me about 3-4 days. I'm guessing this was due to the color screen.
Features It Should Have But Doesn't:
- speaker phone
- additional phonebook information (street address, notes, etc.)
Again, it's not a horrible phone (I like it muck better than the Motorola V180 I have assigned to me at work), it's just not my preference.
4 Alright
This phone is a alright phone.I wouldent have picked it if i saw it upclose. This phone is for a person that just wants a phone to call people.2 stars.
5 please just review the phone!
I wish all you punk dill weed kids would just review the phone instead of talking about the service provider. Christ....there are some people that want an objective opinion about the phone itself. How does it make and receive calls?. Does it hold on to a signal well?. what do you like most about the phone?. Stop talking about the games,or about the service. Reading most of your crap is like reading something a 9 year old would write.
6 pretty nice
It was not too hard to set up the mailbox or figure out what to do with this phone for me. It is a very nice little phone with the camera. Never had problems!
7 Liking my cell phone again
This is a great and very portable phone. Maybe not for people with big hands or a disability to center their phone on their ears. The only gripe I have is that there is no little light on the outside that indicates that you missed a call or have a message.
Also the phone's camera is kinda useless except for displaying picts of your baby on the phone (may that be an infant or your better half). Everything else is great:
-- great design, very bright color display with great contrast
-- great portability: fits pockets and ladies purses
-- decent reception on the Cingular network (even in New Haven)
-- great battery life & quick recharging
-- awesome bluetooth capabilities to connect to Mac OSX computers (to sync numbers and addresses and to downloads lowe-res picts) and wireless headphone.
-- intuitive menus
-- great text messaging capabilities
-- many ringtones if you like that sort of thing.
-- it seems rather sturdy too since I already dropped it a few times and it still works.
-- nice clock display and nice timer that I use a lot.
-- joystick works will to navigate the intuitive menus
-- supposedly you can do a lot of internet, gaming and AIM stuff with this phone but I rarely spend my phone dollars on those applications.
-- great rebates to the point that the phone should be free ... even though I am still waiting for one of my checks to come.
-- I used to have a Sprint flip phone that I hated at the end and this phone made me love my mobile phone again! It's kinda important to like your phone if you carry it around pretty much every hour of the day. Enjoy!
8 Crappy service from ATT/Cingular
I ordered SE T637 with AT&T service plan. While the phone was easy to set up, there was one major problem. I could not access my voice mail from my cell phone. This is where the nightmare begins. Calling ATT / Cingular service takes you through a endless voice options and it is nearly impossible to get a live operator (sound familiar?). I have gone through a fair amount of tech support but this was taking me to the limits. To get to someone who made sense, it took me 6-7 calls. The problem was finally resolved after much anuish. I hope none of you have to go through this.
9 Great phone . . . too much AT&T branding
The phone is great. Sound quality is good. The screen, menu, everything is very nice. But who in the world uses the "nMode" button?!!!!! I wish they just kept the old Sony Ericsson style of buttons and menu. Otherwise, it's a great phone.
10 Great Little Phone
I have been using this phone for last couple of moths and I still love it. As so far, I did not experience any problems what so ever. This phone is loaded with features and options, and because of a bluetooth it is unbelievable easy to down/upload pictures, ringtones, themes, etc. This feature also allows you to actually manage your phone right from your PC (after downloading simple program). The only downside is poor camera resolution but what would you expect from a phone-camera anyway. However, as long as you take pictures with good light coming from behind and resolution set to XL (480x640) you can actually get some descent shoots.
Personally, I hate flip phones and T637 with all its options and functionalities is perfect for me. I would fully recommend this phone to anybody...
11 Good Cell Phone
I got this about four months ago and so far I've had no problems. AT&T is a pretty good cell phone provider so I bought from them this time. I thought of getting a Samsung but then I saw this phone and I really didn't care if it wasn't a flip-phone because it looked really nice and small anyways. I bought this for $199.99 which is a lot of money but now it's much cheaper because it's older. The color screen is really bright and when I take a picture the resolution is like a 1 megapixel digital camera. The camera is really nice too. It is so easy to take pictures. The battery life is awesome on this phone. It usually gives me about 5 or 6 hours and about a few days on standby. It's really small and it fits right into your hand. The only reason I rated this 4 stars is that Sony Ericsson phones are not the best quality. I think Sony makes very good televisions and other things but their cell phones aren't up to the standards of other companies. But all around this is a really good phone and you should think about buying it.
12 I love my phone! I mean, my camera! I mean...
WOW! What an improvement from my old phone! It's got a BRILLIANTLY clear color screen, A CAMERA which isn't the best on Earth, but it WORKS and it's FUN... a tiny joystick amongst the tiny keys to help work the menus... It's so small I can hold it in my closed hand and it disappears (I have big hands) yet it works GREAT, no static so far, no problems at all! I bought a tiny Bluetooth module for my Mac and it works great to sync my calendar and address book with the camera, plus transfer photos. There are functions I don't even use on the camera yet.
What I *do* use are some of the INCREDIBLY COOL add-ons you can buy for the phone -- like a Bluetooth remote controlled miniature racecar! No kidding!! And an FM radio that's powered by the phone, and a tiny blue flashlight attachment! So it's not just a phone, it's practically its own little technological toy chest. You will love this phone! I mean, camera! datebook-calculator-flashlight-radio..!!
13 Nice Phone with NO complains about ATT and Amazon.
I recently got a my T637 risking the fact that most of the postings/reviews on Amazon were not evaluating the phone but complaining about the ATT services. I think that there should be a different forum for that, when some one tries to buy a phone he/she wants to read the Phone reviews. Any ways. These are my first hand experience.
Excellent phone, with all the cool features given in the product description. One thing that I did notice is that the battery life is not as fantastic as the Sony claims it to be namely:
Minimum Rated Standby Time: 315 hours
Minimum Rated Talk Time: 840 minutes.
I don't think that it lasts longer than 200min of talk time.
The M-mode button is really annoying, and even if you try to cancel going to the Internet, it will attempt to reconnect, which is where you have to patiently keep in hitting cancel.
Now about the part about the service provider.
I got my cell phone, charged it for 2hrs, plugged in the SIM and I had a good reception immediately. No calling to ATT help desk or Amazon was involved. Absolutely no hassle!!
Either I am "super" lucky (which is not the case) or only the people who had problems wrote reviews and the ones with functional services never bothered to write. Also now most of the time you are transferred to a Cingular helpdesk and the people out there are definitely much helpful.
Definitely an excellent buy given that Amazon and ATT are paying you 225$

14 Good phone, no real issues.
This phone is pretty good. I'm a newcomer to the world of GSM (after being imprisoned by Sprint and Verizon for many years) and its great to finally have a triband phone that works overseas.
Here are some smaller issues i tend to have:
1. Its not the easiest phone to navigate. Buttons are small and require some careful pushing.
2. Too easy to hit web browse. Of course if you use keylock all the time this will never be a problem. But the moment you forget will be the moment you rack up $30 in airtime charges for the internet sitting open for 20 minutes.
3. No single button that will take you back to the main screen. This is a problem if you spend time playing games, using internet, and navigating some advanced features. You have to click several buttons to go home.
4. Buttons remain on the screen. If you call voicemail and punch in your pin, it will remain on the screen even after you hang up. You need to hit the return button a couple of times.
5. The plastic face scratches pretty easily. And there's no really nice case at the Cingular stores. Your stuck with a crappy leather thing that doesnt really fit well.
6. No standard telephone ring tone. I'm a pretty simple guy and i get annoyed by the musical jingles and such. This is probably not an issue for most.
Other than those nit-picky issues, this is a great phone that i would buy over and over again. Bluetooth syncing with my Mac works flawlessly (need to download some software from the Apple website). I have paired it with a Jabra freespeak bluetooth headset. Performance is a bit shaky here. I almost always hear static, though the person on the other line says I sould fine. I dont know whether its the phone or the headset. Make sure you get it unlocked so you can go overseas and buy local Sim cards.
The case is pretty sturdy. I've dropped it a few times and though the Sim will dislodge temporarily, the phone always rebounds and is ok. Signal strength is probably a 7/10. Not really happy with the dropped calls, but probably because Sprint has a pretty awsome network in large cities and calls were always clear and steady.
Photos are sufficent when taken in well-lit areas. In dark areas, dont even bother. Go get a digital camera for that. Internet browsing is boring. if you like to browse, i suggest a palm Treo 300 or the latest model. They are great, though big and bulky. MMS and SMS capabilities are outstanding. Very easy to use. But be prepared for data costs from your local companies. They add up! Good luck on your choices.
15 Great little phone!
My father bough this phone a couple of months ago and over all it is great.
I previosly had the T610. THe t637 improves on the weaknesses of the previous one
Much better screen (easeir to read under the sun)
Much better reception (the phone has the best reception i have ever seen on a phone.. shows about 2 bars more than my t610 in exactly the same place!)
Cons would be:
The camera is REALLY bad. Do not buy this phone for the camera
Overall its a really small cellphone that works WELL! Great connectivity. Great menu's .... GO FOR IT!

17 Great Phone, Amazon's AT&T service needs improving
First, The phone is great ! I am simply bowled over by its feature.
Amazon shipped it right in time too.
However, I had problems with account activation. When the phone arrived it had inactive SIM on it. So I had to call ATT and after talking to them for an hour, they opeend a brand new account for me (bacause they had no information of the current SIM card). Which means going through a credit check again. ATT was good enough to send me the SIM card for free !
If you have no issues with dealing with the activation thing, go ahead and get the phone !
18 Amazon has issues with ordering , ATT is fine
I had ordered the phone from Amazon.com.Amazon.com was refusing to accept my credit info repeatedly.
So I had to find Amazon.com customer service number from google to get my order go through (they entered it manually). The amazon.com customer service number is (one eight zero zero two zero one seven five seven five 1_800_201_7575).
ATT customer service is great. They take care of all issues such as number porting etc within 24 hrs. Amazon.com does not provide facility to port your old number currently.
If you get the phone unlcoked (costs around $20 .. google for more info), it will work with other sim cards. ( You can carry it to other countries such as india and use a locally available cell phone service. In india Airtel sim card works fine )
Also , corporate discounts can be applied to phones bought from amazon.com.
19 What a hassle
I ordered this phone on Dec 29, 2004. After waiting for more than 1 month, Amazon still hadn't sent it, so I had to cancel my order (I think I was more than patient). I have seen the phone, although it's compact and nice-looking, it has lots of mMode features and the keys are small and slippery, and if you're not careful you can easily wander into those modes and cost yourself some money. Manipulating the joystick requires careful attention.
20 This phone is excellent
I recently got the upgrade of my phone to t637 and along with the unbeatable plan (400 + 400 additional anytime minutes for $39.99) with AT&T, I am very happy.
Phone has a very good reception and sound. Bright and sharp TFT display is stunning. Camera is ok but I dont care.
It has very sophisticated looks.
I bet anyone who has this baby is very pleased with it.
21 The LCD broke on me!!!
3 months and the LCD broke on me. I thought this was a cool phone... well wrongly so
The downsides:
1) The camera sucks. It doesn't have good resolution at all.
2) The phone looks like a match box, just an elongated one
3) Lacks the class of a true Sony Ericcson product.
And now the LCD broke on me. I am not sure what I am going to do now... will I even get my money back or get it repaired under waranty?
22 Love it!!!!!
One of the ----no the best phone I've ever owned!!!!!! Great features, graphics, and it's so darn cute!!!!!!!!!!
23 Awsome Phone
This is a awsome phone.. Better than the
Sony ericsson T610 I think....!
24 UPDATED: At the risk of jinxing myself
I ordered my phone on January 3, 2005 and it was delivered to my home on January 5, 2005 during a really bad snow storm in Illinois. I turned on the phone and it was setup in less than 2 minutes. I didn't even have to call AT&T.
The features on the phone are great! I don't find navigating through it's menues to be a problem at all. I have hit the mMode button though a few times accidentally especially when ending a call. I'll have to find out how to disable that.
I have an 2005 Acura TL with bluetooth hands free software built into it and the phone paired with my car in like 3 minutes. It gets great reception anywhere I go. I've had one complaint that when talking using the wired headset (included with the phone) it's a little hard to hear me.
Get the phone and don't be discouraged by the very negative reviews found on this page. Amazon and AT&T are very pleasant to work with UPS delivered way ahead of schedule. I'm happy with my purchase.
25 Most Stupid Phone ever Made
I am wondering why there is no rating of 0 star or even negative stars, sony errison desn't even deserve the 1 star I chose.
This riduculosly stupid phone has one big button and a so-called "Joystick", both just need one single touch for you to get into the "M-mode", and get charged by every bit of data transferred to your phone. And there is absolutely no way to deactiviate it, even if you spend more than two hours to just get the unprofessional AT&T or Cingular customer service to deactivate this stupid service on their end.
Another stupid thing is that they send me a software CD which is totally crap. There is nothing in the package talking about the CD, but I just thought why wouldn't have a try. The stupid hand-made-like software just can never be succefully installed, and what is worse is that you can no longer uninstall it either.
No wonder there is such a big rebate on this stupid phone!
26 What a Nightmare
DO NOT ORDER THRU AMAZON UNLESS YOU LIKE HEADACHES! Ordered the T637 & selected the 800 National plan thru Amazon. Phone arrived with a SIM card & instructions. Upon inserting the SIM card the phone registered 'inactive sim.' Had to call the # amazon included with the phone. AT&T didn't have me in there database. I was now transferred and forwarded and forwarded and transferred and put on hold and transferred and forwarded! Finally talking to someone now. What fun. I had to now setup a *NEW* acct thru AT&T/CINGULAR and now they have to send me a *NEW* SIM card to activate my phone (as the one that came thru Amazon will not work). So, in the end I had the pleasure of spending 60 minutes dealing with this and rectifying what I ordered thru Amazon. Now you know what you will get to do if you order this phone with an AT&T/Cingular plan. Have fun! Order your phone elsewhere, this isn't even worth 1-star but amazon doesn't allow me to rate this as no stars!
27 DON'T BUY ANY CELL PHONES FROM AMAZON.COM!
Go buy it from your local cellphone dealers or Buy.com or anyone else but don't buy your cell phone from Amazon.com. I ordered this phone on December 9th and to-date (12/22) the order is still not processed. Don't believe their ad on the page which says "Availability: Usually ships in 24 hours". That has proven to be a complete lie. I checked on the status a few times with them and have only gotten generic responses like "our partner does the credit check and is delaying this order BS". The last 6 phones I've gotten over the past 3 years, I bought them from Best Buy, some tiny stands at the malls, and some crappy place in Chinatown. They were all able to process my application in 5-10 minutes (via Cingular, Verizon, and AT&T). So, for a company like Amazon to claim that they can't process an application in nearly 2 weeks is a JOKE! The lesson here is: DON'T BUY CELL PHONES FROM AMAZON.COM UNLESS YOU CAN WAIT A MONTH FOR IT!
28 Don't order this from Amazon --- 24Hrs is a lie
I ordered this phone more than 2 weeks ago. "Usually ships within 24 hours" HAHAHAHA LOL Who the heck are they kidding. After waiting this long, I just gave up and cancelled my order. On top of this, Amazon hides their customer service number so you can't find it and complain to them. Forget it. I'm going to the kiosk at the mall.
29 Worst Mobile Phone Service
I changed my mobile phone from TMobile to AT & T Next Generation, and I am not at all happy with that. I have only bad things about AT & T. There plans & service are in such a way that you will be billed for many services without your knowledge.
1. You cannot know your minute usage if you don't have internet.
2. You can see minute usage via mMode, But you will be charged for that.
3. You cannot Disable mMode service. If you get any spam on your mobile phone you will be charged for that too.
4. Text Messages from mobile to Internet or Vice-Versa is charged as mMode Data Service not as a Text Message.
Well, I will be finding more of these in due course of time. I have so far used AT & T for 3 weeks only.
It is not even worth a single star, but Amazon system will not allow without star rating !!!!.
Thanks,
Vinod Kushwaha.
30 Great phone
I happen to disagree with Adam. This is a great phone. There is an easier way to navigate to the contact menu. Simply hold down the key ( for 1 second ) containing the 1st letter of the person you wish to call( i.e. push 3 for Dave ) and it displays the person's name and other names , hit select and all phone numbers are displayed for that person. if you do not use mmode, you can disable it by disabling your WAP settings.
31 Worst phone ever!!
Adam hit the nail on the head. The navigation system is insane. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!
32 Sony Ericsson Designers! Come to me for beatings!
I loathe this phone. I absolutely hate it. Cannot stand the damn thing. And I have no one to blame for buying it but me.
I had a Nokia 3650, which was the bees' knees. I lost it at my wedding (it's probably in the turtle pond now), and the AT&T store didn't carry 3650s any more. The only other Bluetooth phones were this and the freaky Nokia model that flips out into a keypad. I should have gone with the freaky phone, because it still had a good ol' Nokia user interface. The one on the T637 was designed by people who developed customer service plans in the Soviet Union: it's not friendly, not intuitive, and causes intestinal tumors in lab rats.
One example: I want to look up a phone number without calling it. I have to get the main menu, then go to Phonebook, then go to Manage Contact, then go to View Contact, then punch my way through to that person, then click on the person to get their number. And it's only their number! No address, no notes, none of the bits of data that make a BT-enabled phone a useful tool.
What do I get? I get two buttons that are hardwired to mMode, that's what! Attention AT&T: I do not WANT to use my cell phone to get to the Internet because it's TOO EXPENSIVE AND SLOW. Hence, I do not want two buttons on my phone that are in convenient-to-punch places and can only bring up a browser or chat client.
Avoid this mess of a phone. Get a Nokia. God knows I will as soon as I can afford a new phone.
33 Great Phone if it's FREE
I got this phone for FREE with a plan from AT&T Wireless. There are many features on this phone, but I don't use all the features, like the camera and mMode. I basically want a good phone with great reception, long battery life, clear voices, sleek and slim design, and bluetooth. This phone has it. The camera takes pretty low quality pictures, but I didn't expect much from a camera phone.
It's relatively intuitive, although I did have to read the manual to figure out that you have to press and hold the "back" button to jump back to the main menu once you're 5 levels deep without going back up one level at a time.
I also had to refer to the manual to set up speed dialing. It's not that simple. You can't just assign different numbers to people, as with my old phone. You have to position the people as number 1-9 under Phonebook>>Advanced>>Position List (you can only have 9 positions for speed dial). By the way, your Position List is created by the order in which you first entered your contacts. If you want to reassign a speed dial number, you must change the Position List respectively. Not so simple. To initiate speed dial with this phone, you press the speed dial number followed by the "call" button. So you have to press two buttons to speed dial. I'm used to simply pressing and holding a number to activate speed dial.
When you copy contacts from your phone to your SIM card, you can't just copy a few new numbers. You have to copy all contacts all over again. And you can't store multiple numbers per one contact on your SIM. You get the same person 5 different times if they have 5 different phone numbers associated with them.
Bluetooth and infrared both work well. My bluetooth headset (Sony Ericsson Akono HBH-300 -- see that review) paired easily and worked well until the headset itself malfunctioned.
One thing I did not particularly like was the mMode button that AT&T Wireless put at the lower right corner. I didn't sign up for mMode, which is an add-on feature. But sometimes I accidentally press that button thinking I'm locking the phone or setting it to silent. Then it connects to mMode and you get billed for it, but that's only if you sign up with AT&T Wireless.
If you get this phone for free, it's a great phone and it's better than other free phones out there with bluetooth. If you're paying for it, you might find a better phone for your money.
34 Phone is really cool! but amazon lets you down
The phone is very nice, small and cute. Its display is superb, infrared and blutooth capability makes it really easy to transfer stuff to/from computer. Unfortunately the camera is not a good one, more like a toy camera. The memory of the phone is pretty small, I guess 1 MB that means you cannt store too many things. The keys are easy to use and the joystick makes it really easy to browse through menu items. The signal strength is amazing and its picks up very well. AMAZON didn't send the SIM card activated so I had to call up ATT wireless and establish a new connection for myself right from scratch. Infact the customer service representative of ATT WIRELESS told me that she has no account activated for me neither any record of mine forwared to them by AMAZON. So she pretty much set a new account right from scratch. I didn't have any trouble with the customer service of ATT wireless as some other people complained. They were pretty cool and my phone was activated immediately after I called and they set a new account for me. Why does AMAZON takes 4-5 day to ship the phone when it is just shipping the phone (which the website shows Ships in 24 hours) and it is not even establishing an account. Why does it ask for social security for credit check which is needed to activate a new account when its not even establishing an account.
Overall I will give the T637 4* rating and AMAZON a 1* rating.
I certainly expected better from AMAZON but it was a let down.
35 T637 compared to T610 - great improvements!
I am a cell phone hopper, usually getting a new one every 6 months or so. I got the Sony Ericsson T610 over a year ago, and didn't want to change. My T610 is wearing out, so I recently upgraded to the T637. I am very happy with the funcionality of this mobile phone.
The T637 is completely compatible with ALL of my T610 accessories (especially my car kit). Noted improvements are a much more visable display area. Most of the time, I found the display on the T610 to be difficult to see, but the T637 is very much brighter.
The only negatives are the easy to trigger camera option, and online option. AT&T models of the T637 have one of the main toggle buttons (top right corner) set to "mMode" so that the accidental press of the button sends you online. Not sure if there is a way to disable this function, but I am one of those guys that doesn't really care for a phone's online capabilities. The camera option isn't that important to me, but it is nice to take snapshots of my wife & kids. The photo quality isn't the greatest, but then again this is a phone - not an Olympus...
Overall, I love the phone. The T637 is everything I want in a mobile phone, and I have no intentions of changing models any time soon. Very convenient size, and very functional.
36 Local ATT Wireless store is a better option
Called around and found out ordering from Amazon would not qualify you for dicsoounts for majoy employers like IBM, Microsoft, GE, ...ect...ect. Also, local ATT store in my area are all willing to give me the phone for free with a one-year contract. The phone was already working as I left the store. It was a much better experience than dealing with the poor ATT customer service over the phone or with Amazon's ordering system which so many here have complained about.
37 Phone is great.... ATT sucks !!!
The phone is excellent. Excellent screen.. easy navigation.... but only ok call quality.
ATT service sucks however. This has nothing to do with Amazon, but the ATT customer service is the worst I have ever seen. They put you on hold for more than an hour and then come back to tell you that you have to call another department. It has been 5 months... yes... 5 months that I have been trying to contest a charge... and no one has been even able to give me an answer.
Avoid ATT at all costs. Take the T-Mobile plan with this phone if you really like the phone.
38 Review of the phone & the service [Updated]
An update to my posting below....
Phone features : I found some features quite user-UNfriendly.
* mMode hardwired into the right softbutton is ANNOYING. Someone at AT&T needs to decide to let people customise phones to their needs
* No way of storing addresses, etc. in contacts. I HATE THIS!
* Why is it so hard to tell how much memory is available for everything?
Ofcourse, I had gotten used to a PDA phone, which was great. Other than that, for the price I still think it is a bargain. Once again, I have no problems with AT&T service.
-------------------------------------------------------------
First of all, I had great experience with AT&T customer service. I bought two phones from Amazon. They helped me port my sprint numbers in, which was working in a matter of 2 hours after I first contacted them. They were courteous and the best part is instead of transferring me to the porting dept. and sales dept., they stay online connecting me directly to the rep. Perhaps there has been a change in the recent days. But I have no problems with them.
Now for the phone:
I love the phone ..... mostly :)
Pros:
* Outlook sync'ing
* Sleek and compact
* IR (I don't have bluetooth)
* Battery life seems to be great for me
Cons:
* mMode for the right soft button. I HATE IT!!!! Cingular has a 'MORE' button
* "My Shortcuts" is really hard to get to. What's the point?
* AT&T seems to have restricted reprogramming of the joystick & main menu for shortcuts.
If AT&T gets its act together and lets people customize it to their convenience, I would give this phone a 5 stars without thinking twice.
Overall, for the price, I will recommend this phone & service I had no problems with.
39 nice phone, nice service
I ordered the phone on Saturday and received it the following Wednesday (very quick considering it was with free shipping). Popped in the sim card and got the same 'inactive SIM' message others have written about. I called 1-888-288-4202 and the helpful CSR said that my plan was entered as a TDMA plan and not GSM. She corrected the information and verified the plan i was signing up for. Friendly and knowledgeable all the way. She even set up the porting of my old phone number (which Amazon says is not possible on their number porting page). The phone was activated only a few minutes after hanging up and i was able to make calls. A few hours later the number porting was completed and I could receive calls on the new phone. Yes it seems Amazon messed up a bit, but the AT&T CSR corrected things without any confusion or issues.
40 ATT SUX
Don't even think of signing up with AT&T. They are the worse phone service I ever seen. I was not able to make even a single proper call using my phone. CUSTOMER SERVICE was WORST I have seen
DON"T EVEN THINK OF SIGNING AT&T , for the money u will be paying you could get a flight ticket and go and talk in person.
SAVE URSELF from AT&T
41 Good... I recommend
The phone features are extremely good coupled with a compact size. It has bluetooth and IR for excellent data transfer. The call quality is little bit inferior to its Nokia counterparts.Battery life is too small and it needs frequent charging.
42 Phone's great - service sucks
The phone is wonderful, no complaints there. But ATT Wireless has taken all my patience! Every time I need to talk to them, it always gets worse, I don't know how they have managed to stay in business. They screw up your bills, the customer service is unbelievably terrible. I'm stuck with AT&T Wireless like bubblegum on the bottom of your shoe.
They trick you into signing a new contract by not reminding you that your contract (read: bonus minutes) are about to expire, so your normal usage is all of a sudden way over your allotment. The only way they will work with you in lowering your several hundred dollar bill is by having you signing your life away for another year.
They screw everything up, their rules are inconvenient, their areas is so bad that I have never been able to use my phone in the comfort of my own home (even though I have moved several times since signing up). Don't do it!
43 AWESOME FONE!
the only complaint i have about this fone was the activation. it came in activated but the only problem about it was how i was able to make outgoing calls but not receive any! the voice mail activation was a whole different story..long story short, i ahd to change the number! called AT&T's customer service for a question about something else and the rep upgraded my plan to 800 anytime minutes in addition to UNLIMITED MOBILE TO MOBILE AND UNLIMITED N/W!!!!! its true to size, shape, color n everything! the colors are vibrant, the battery life is looonger than i've ever had...i could keep it on standby for days and days and the battery wouldn't die on me. the neat thing about this fone is that it's pocket-sized and very slim so you can easily slip it into your pants pockets! the call log stores 30 total! the only other complaint i have is the variety of ring tones..there aren't too many to choose from and they all don't sound too good either.
44 I too ecperienced terrible service from ATT customer service
I won't go into detail here, but the Customer service I talked to was not only totally unhelpful but also rude to me. So much so that I decided to cancell my AT&T long distance service on my land-line phone, my AT&T Credit Card. I was surprised, though when I dropped by a local AT&T store, the rep there fixed the problem that the Customer Service I talked to refuse to do on the spot.
45 T637 Old Generation
T637 The Old Generation
The T637 is one of the best phone I had so fare ( after nokia , nokia still the king of cell phone) but check also the new Sony Ericsson coming soon S710A that is EDGE and GPRS compatible and has a real camera
Most new phone are EDGE and GPRS compatible
the T637 is only GPRS (out dated)
T637 camera is like atoy
ATTWS Mmode is a Joke that doesn't make the customer smile
ATTWS has a pretty good coverage in U.S.A. and free Roaming
ATTWS will be part of CINGULAR soon !! ( hope for the best but expetct the worst)
now for the ATTWS part ;can you believe that ATTWS charge EIGHTY dollars for UNLIMITED Data connection ( web access)
when T-Mobile charge only around TWENTY dollars
WAKE UP ATTWS get real
and the Mmode (sort of limited web access) that ATTWS provide is ToTaly useless waste of time and money
First think to do once you get this cell phone ( T637) or any Mmode phone is to call technical support and Deactivate the Mmode
on you phone or you will be charghed every time you get in to Mmode ( by clicking on the wrong key by mistake)
ALSO you can get this phone for free and Free accessories just try to find the link or call ATTWS and tell them that I or your friend get it for free with extra accessories.
46 Great, but for some minor things
Great: reception, menus, navigation, screen, clarity, Bluetooth very smooth- using Mac OS 10.3- syncs thru iSync for iCal and Address Book.
Not so great: scratched the screen already, camera's ok.
Overall very happy with phone and ATT.
47 Its gonna blast
Any more features and this phone will surely BLAST... Its jam packed with stuff. Vivid screen and killing looks, I think this phone is juss missing a TV and a microwave :).....Got it a few days back; tried connecting to internet thru its AC97 modem and IrDA port.. woosh.. it went in first go @ 115000 baud. Signal Strength/Call Quality is ten out of ten..I presume it will work in a bunker too..Call recording, magic word, Intelligent options to customize...T637 ruleZ! only con is its mediocre camera but then I remember its a phone obviously.. Overall This Deal is a Steal.
48 BAD AMAZON !!!!
This is what you get from Amazon for Cingular Orders !!!
Greetings from Amazon.com.
Cingular Wireless has notified us that it cannot approve your
request for
wireless service without additional information. Unfortunately,
we do not
have the additional information Cingular Wireless requires, and
cannot
fulfill wireless orders in this condition. We have therefore
automatically
canceled this order:
49 Very Nice Phone
I think the phone is great with my AT&T service in Philadelphia area. Phone has neat voice commands to quickly call people as well as set your profile. It doesn't have many shortcut keys as I would need. It can be done from My Shortcuts menu under Settings. Initially it seems like you can choose multiple shortcuts by assigning 1,2,3...,however, you can only choose one shortcut by assigning only #1(which is by moving joystick to left) to shortcut you need. Other #'s (2,3...) shortcut could be assigned but simply wouldn't work. I thought about putting My Shortcuts menu in the shortcuts selection by assigning it to #1 so my list of all shortcuts can appear by left click stick & then scrolling to the shortcut I need unfortunetly you can't select My Shortcuts as your shortcut under the Shortcuts menu. All other programs are great & feels like a mini comp.
50 Nice phone, fair service!
I've owned this phone for about 3 months now. Got it not too soon after it was available. Ordered it directly from AT&T. The phone arrived overnight already activated. Really easy!
The phone itself is nice and small. Fits right in the palm of my hand. Pretty clear screen. A little hard to see on really bright days when in direct sunlight. Easy to navigate the menus. Charges fast and battery lasts me all day sometimes all week! The camera is so-so. It is alright for a quick snapshot but don't expect too much. It does poor unless under just the right lighting condition. Should've came with a flash and zoom!
Only major gripe is the keypad which is kind of slippery when first using it. You do get use to it but the keys could be a lot less slippery. Haven't used the bluetooth yet but it seems to have very good options for this.
One last thing. AT&T kinda sux! I get good reception in my area but pick up odd networks that don't support GSM.
Hope this helps someone make that decision!
51 great phone; no hassles
Got this phone;the phone looks great. It came activated. All I had to do was to insert the SIM card and then was able to make/receive calls.
The only (minor)problem is that it took over 10 days for the phone to be delivered to my home from the date of purchase.
52 Great phone and good service from ATT
Hi,
I received the phone activated and so all I had to do was insert the SIM and charge the phone. It automatically detected the network and I could immediately make and receive calls. Number porting too was fairly easy and was over in less than 3 hours.
The phone iteself is really cool. The keys are lot better than T610/T616. Camera is good for a phone, though a zoom might have been better. Connectivity options are superb.
53 Excellent Phone; Horrendous Amazon.com Service
The phone is excellent- I previously used a SE T616, and the T637 has a better screen, higher volume, and stronger signal reception. Sony Ericsson's Bluetooth implementation is probably the best of all current cell phones. Highly recommended phone.
Amazon.com's service, on the other hand is, at best, terrible. They cancelled my original order because "the system lost it," and when I placed a replacement order, Amazon sent incorrect information to ATT! After two weeks of this hell, I finally received the phone.
If you get ATT GSM from Amazon, note that (1) the activation instructions which come with the phone are INCORRECT. Charge your battery and call ATT at 1-888-288-4202. Otherwise your phone will NOT be activated (contrary to the instructions from Amazon). (2) If you had ATT TDMA service in the past, you will most likely have problems with your order from Amazon, so be prepared to call Amazon customer service to straighten out your order.
Overall, anyone living in a large city will be able to get a similar deal locally without having to deal with Amazon's atrocious cell phone system.
54 AT&T Wireless SUCKS
First of all, I couldn't find a board to post my review on AT&T wireless, so I had to choose to review some product. I'm giving 4 stars to it since I heard this is a good phone.
However, what I want to do today is to WARN YOU that AT&T WIRELESS SUCKS. Their customer service can provide wrong information and force you to pay more than you should.
Here is my story. I had a AT&T wireless phone, but for personal reasons I wanted to cancel it. It was 2 months before the contract would expire, so I confirmed with the CSR that I would have to pay the $175 cancelation fee, which is actually reasonable and under contract.
But, but, at this time he gave me wrong information. He suggested that I suspend the account for 2 months and cancel it afterwards. I was a little doubtful but, since this was the information directly from a CSR, I did as what he told me to do.
Then, 2 months later, I called in again. This time a different CSR said that time of suspension does not count in the contract. This means I must wait for another 2 months, and pay, before I can cancel the account. Unfortunately I don't have the conversation record with the first CSR due to a system crash, so I have no strong evidence to support myself.
It is all OK to me since I am not using the phone anyway, and it only costs < $100 for 2 months. However, I can't stand the fact that CSRs provide wrong information and mislead customers. AT&T has lost a customer forever, and I bet they will lose more once more people know about their bad customer service.
AT&T WIRELESS SUCKS, DON'T BUY AT&T WIRELESS
55 Great phone - fast activation - ATT
I love this phone; its small, has a tremendous amount of features, and has great synch abilities. Although the camera quality isn't the greatest, its made for a phone...if you want high quality, buy a digital camera. That said, quick photo snap is nice and the menus fly by in a breeze. The reception I am getting on ATT is great!
I know there have been complaints on activating this bad boy, but I really didnt have much of a problem. If you get the phone through Amazon you are going to have to call ATT in order to activate your SIM card and be able to start making and receiving calls. I called 1-888-288-4202 and talked to a guy named Nikolai who got my stuff straight within 30 minutes. The only problem was that a day after I had called him it still read 'inactive SIM', but on a whim I powered it down and then back up and it worked. My advice to anyone getting this phone is to call that number and let them activate it, then wait like an hour and shut down your phone and then restart it...it should probably be rearin and ready to go by then. Again, great phone and great features!!
56 I LOVE this phone!
This is my first GSM phone (I'm a die-hard CDMA fan...but this phone converted me).
Pros:
* Jam-packed with features--it's actually overwhelming sometimes
* Excellent screen contrast/resolution
* Intuitive interface...one of the best I've seen. I even like the joystick...I didn't think I'd like it. And the interface is *fast*...way, way vaster than the Motorola V600 (try scrolling through the phone book on that thing...forget about it)
* Flawless Bluetooth and infrared operation
* Syncing with Outlook and iSync right out of the box with infrared or Bluetooth...sweet!!
* Tri-band operation means it uses the 850MHz band--translation: more bars of signal deep inside buildings
* Now merged AT&T and Cingular networks provide fantastic coverage (at least in the San Francisco Bay area). It will only get better as AT&T dismantles their old TDMA basestations and uses the 850MHz spectrum for more GSM.
* The phone worked right out of the box: plugged in the SIM card, turned on, and I was all ready to go. No registration hassles (I guess Amazon and AT&T ironed out their former difficulties)
* The price!! Considering how awesome this phone is already, its price is simply unbelievably good!
* This is kinda childish, but the polyphonic ringers on this phone sound fabulous!
Cons
* No mMode lockout mode (cannot make the phone ask you to confirm if you want to start mMode)
* That camera is kinda useless...at this generation of phones, the camera should have been better (I don't actually care about the camera, but some of you might)
* The memory is kinda small (2MB), so you cannot store a lot of pictures or sounds.
* With all the features the phone has, the menus can get kind of deep
* I expected the battery life to be longer than it is (I'm getting around 4 hours of talk time...but then again I keep playing with the phone all the time because the novelty hasn't worn off yet...)
In short: get this phone!
57 Good, but not all it is claimed to be
Would have been 5 stars, but . . .
Sony claims that they worked hard to make the phone compatible with iSync on the Macintosh, unfortuantely it isn't fully compatible. Multi-day and all-day calendar events won't transfer over. When contacting Sony, they say they don't support the feature and I need to contact apple. Doesn't sound like they worked too hard after all.
58 spiffy phone
i upgraded to this phone from the t68i on t-mobile and have been very happy with it so far. The phone gets good reception and the battery life seems fine. My only disgruntlment is that Amazon screwed up sending the info to AT&T and I had to wait 2 weeks after I recieved the phone before my phone was properly activiated in the correct area code (which was also partly AT&Ts fault). But once that was resolved my phone has been great.
59 another not activated
Is it a nice phone? Does it work well? I own it, but I don't know those answers. The following are the activation instruction received with the phone:
Setting up new service:
1. Before you begin, follow the instructions in your owner's manual to charge your phone's battery.
2. Turn on you phone. Refer to your owner's manual if you need more help completing this step.
3. Your phone will be ready to use in about 45 minutes. A welcome message from AT&T Wireless indicates your service has been turned on.
Now you're ready to start using your new phone!
My phone was NOT ready to use in 45 minutes. "Inactive SIM" is the message. I called the AT&T Wireless customer service number, and after 45 minutes of being bounced around by no less than 6 amazingly clueless customer "service" reps, the best they could tell me is to go to an AT&T Wireless store (for more runaround?). Will this compromise my rebate? I don't know that either! Assistance available from Amazon? Zip, nada, zilch.
60 Great phone, great features, to bad about mMode
Great phone, takes pretty good pictures. Has a nice screen and it seems pretty finger print resistant. With features like Bluetooth and software like FMA (http://fma.sourceforge.net/main.php) it's almost as good a mobile assistant as a palm.
Expandable memory would be nice.
a
If ATT wouldn't fill the phone up with their mMode stuff and customized menus it would be even better.
And Amazon and Att seem to have some type of issue right now, if they could get that worked out it would be great.
(But I don't consider those problems with the phone, just problems with retailer and service provider)
61 Great Phone.
This is a great cell phone. I use the bluetooth functionality to sync my contacts and calendar. I also use it to copy pictures to my computer for display on my website.
62 Outdated already, but still a nice phone
The Sony Ericsson T637 replaces venerable and popular T616. Although T637 represents an upgrade from T616, it is a minor upgrade with the following changes:
- Improved RF reception: although only marginally improved over T616 (upgraded antenna and tweaked firmware), any RF reception improvement is a good thing.
- Improved LCD: active matrix TFT (T616 was passive STN) for improved display quality and greater visibility under the sun
- Built-in Wireless Village Instant Messaging: IM with AOL, ICQ, and Yahoo!
- Slightly smaller and lighter
- More pre-loaded themes and games
- Supposedly longer talk time (in my experience, it was about the same)
Perhaps the most noticeable change is redesigned plastic chassis. While it is not quite as stylish as metallic T616 (at least in my opinion), it is still quite stylish. And if you are Macintosh fanatic, you might prefer T637 over T616. It is distinctively more Mac-like in appearance (alas, it is not available in white as T630 was). And as an added benefit, unlike T616 (which requires constant cleaning), it is finger print resistant.
Otherwise, not much else has changed.
Pros:
- Very good user interface with colorful icons
- Excellent built quality
- Superb Bluetooth implementation
- Excellent connectivity options (Bluetooth, IrDA, USB)
- Great SyncML implementation
- Highly portable
- Customizable operating system (themes, ring tones, picture ID)
- Good battery life considering its size
- Good address book implementation (although lacking in street address field)
- Ton of software, ring tones, themes, and wallpaper available online
- Mac OS X friendly
Cons:
- No speakerphone
- No EDGE
- Not enough spacing between each key
- Poor included wired earpiece sound quality (especially outbound)
- Only 2 MB memory, not expandable via MemoryStick, SD/MMC, etc.
- Dingy built-in speaker
- Poor camera picture quality
- No MP3 and AAC playback, no FM tuner
- Auto key lock timer not customizable
- Clock screensaver cannot be disabled
- mMode button cannot be disabled (requires creating a dummy WAP profile and data account)
All in all, T637 is a good mid-end phone that works well. I wish it had speakerphone and expandable memory, however.
63 Misleading prod. descript: Bluetooth REQ for MOST features!
I agree with the first reviewer... the Amazon/AT&T integration is HORRIBLE! People should not have to wait 2-3 days for service after they receive the phone. Who would give the phone 5 stars after they waited 3 days to get service???
Do not buy this phone if you don't have bluetooth. Get the T610 or T616 which comes with a cord for sync in case you don't have bluetooth.
First, this phone's product description says "Bluetooth enabled; Infrared support"
Then, it says "As an organizer, the phone offers features like code memo, calculator, business card exchange, calendar, tasks, contacts, memory dynamic, phone book, conference calls, PIM sync, and call list. Integral to the organizer is its clock, which includes a stopwatch, an alarm, and a handy timer."
All the sync features require a bluetooth connection.
The keys are also very slippery, the OS is problematic, and the voice quality is horrible on both sides (from which I've been told after many, many calls over the weekend.)
64 Great phone
I had the same problem where it was not activated even though I bought a plan through Amazon. The phone said "inactive sim". It took me 2 days with AT&T to finally get it setup. They were having technical problems and could not process anything in there computers.
Now I'm setup and the phone works great.
65 Same as above but ...
I had the same problem as the reviewer above ... "inactive sim". But after several days I was able to get it activated through AT&T. Now everything works great. This phone is fantastic.
66 Warning: worst experience ever... not exaggerating
WARNING: AT&T representatives ("Dawn: R361" and "Max: N360") themselves said during my troubleshooting (as detailed below) that I should NOT have bought through Amazon, and that they have received a barrage of complaints from Amazon buyers!
Now the details:
Allow me to start out my saying that I've never composed an Amazon review before. I've had many purchases from Amazon.com that I was not satisfied, but I thought, I'd rather not waste time and write up what I thought. That all changed after the purchase of this phone from Amazon.com.
First, when I purchased the phone, Amazon said "usually ships in 24 hours." When I finished the transaction, Amazon said it would ship 3 days (and I'm not including non-business days). I received the phone 7 days later. And this isn't what I'm complaining about. (The order occurred on July 8th.)
When I received the phone, with the new SIM card, it comes with instructions on how to start up the phone and the new service. Basically, at that point, what should have happened is I put in the SIM card, it connects to the wireless carrier, and I get back a text message minutes later with my new phone number, and my account is activated. On the instruction sheet with both Amazon and AT&T's logos on it, it says that following my inserting of the SIM card and turning on the phone, I will have service ("may take up to 45 minutes"). I wait 48 hours and the phone still says "inactive SIM," I decided to call the AT&T customer support number. After waiting on the phone for 2 hours, during non-peak times (7pm PST, 10 EST) I get an AT&T representative person who is will to help. I give him the phone id numbers, and the SIM card. He comes back 10 minutes later to say they have redone the transaction, "your transaction number is A15018476XX...and your phone should be activated in a few minutes, but it might take up to 45 minutes." Two hours pass, and it still says "inactive SIM."
I called AT&T the following day in the morning, still having an "inactive SIM" message. They transfer me to a technician, who says that I have no record with them. I give him my AT&T transaction number and my social security number, and he still can't find my record. He suggests I contact dispute resolution. He transfers me, where I waiting 1 hour and 10 minutes, to get another representative. They tell me they do have my information, but it was just given to them by Amazon that morning! 2 weeks after the successful transaction by Amazon! "That was stupid to buy online. You should have gone into one of our local stores," Dawn R361 said. I ask that she put this all my record, and she says that she cannot, because she cannot verify that I called the day prior, even though I gave her an AT&T transaction number. Before she hung up on me, I asked to speak with her supervisor, Max. He actually said that if I wanted service today, I should cancel my Amazon order and buy the same phone at a local AT&T store. He said that Amazon does not hand off information to them in a timely manner, if at all, as in my case, and that he has dealt with many, many calls from Amazon customers. He was reluctant to give up his id number, but he finally said his id was "360", not knowing that I know you need a letter in front of the number to accurately identify him. Finally, after I asked, "don't you have a letter in front of the number" he paused and said "my id is N360." They also offered no compensation for my extreme inconvenience because "it is Amazon's fault."
Again, I've never complained before. But please don't consider my rating above an exaggeration. Stay away from both Amazon.com and AT&T Wireless... it may look like a good deal, but I STILL DO NOT HAVE SERVICE (as of July 17th). It's not worth it.
Feel free to email me at patrickr@socrates.berkeley.edu if you'd like further information about this horrible, horrible experience.
67 I am not exaggerating.... worst experience I've EVER had!
