1 Best Bang for the Buck
It's rare to come across an LCD as good as this 19" Monitor from sony. Contrast. Brightness. Clarity. It's all good. The 1280x1024 native resolution is more than enough for most needs. There's even a headphone jack, which is something that not all manufacturers install(which surprises me).

2 Excellent quality monitor
I've had this display for 9 months, and I am still very happy with the purchase. The constrast is fantastic, and the brightness is incredible. Screen can be seen from all angles. The unit is very sharp looking, and stands out on a desk.
Why not 5 stars?
Speakers are useless. If I'm going to spend so much money on a display, I'm going to buy some decent speakers.
2 analog inputs and 1 DVI input. Having 2 DVI inputs and 1 analog input would be much more valuable to me.
Automatic light sensor. Consistently keeps the screen too dark, so I never use it.
3 Colorful standout
I looked at quite a bit of these monitors and bought this one because the text was sharp and the colors bright and vibrant. There is a trick, though. When I took it home and hooked up to my computer, it wasn't as sharp.
My old 20" Sony CRT used the analog cable. But I was lucking to already have a DVI input on my graphics card and switched to that cable. (The HX93 has both cable types) Alas it became clear like the store's which had been hooked up to a Sony PC with a DVI port.
I am using the native resolution and a 150% dpi setting and it looks just as good as like my old CRT. So don't hang on to that tub of a CRT because it isn't clear - go get this HX93 and shed 50 lbs.
4 Best 19 inch LCD monitor
This 19 inch LCD is by far the best LCD of its size that I have seen. It is bright (450 nits) and has a crisp and deep contrast (800:1). I don't use the speakers in the monitor since I have a 5.1 surround sound system, so I can't comment on those. At 1280x1024 resolution, everything looks great, including games. You pay more for this monitor than the average LCD, but the picture quality is definitely worth it.
Amazon had the BEST price anywhere, and 2-day delivery service was reasonably priced.
5 The best flat screen monitor for the money...
My Sony SDM-HX93 is the best monitor I've ever owned. This is the third flat screen monitor my family has (I have an HP and another 17" Sony) and this is by far the most wonderful device! The colors and brightness are incredible, very clean text and great performance. Setup was very easy and intuitive. With MS XP no driver installation is required - just connect and go; it configures itself to the best resolution. I loved the back-slide panel that neatly hides the cables. If your display is important to you - purchase this monitor.
