The SDM-S94 from Sony is a 19-inch active-matrix TFT LCD monitor with a sleek, stylish design. 1 Excellent 19inch LCD monitor
The Sony SDM-S94 is a very nice monitor. The bezel is thin which makes it nice for pairing up with a second monitor. Color are faithful reproduced, I did not experience the color problem the other review mentioned. The performance of the monitor is fast with images, but not real fast when coming out of sleep mode. I have an analog version of the same monitor in a dual setup and the analog always comes on quicker. But, overall this is a fine 19inch monitor and I use it all day long.
2 Beware the "Strange Colors" Problem!
Like many others, apparently, I have the "strange colors" or "weird colors" problem with this Sony LCD. This monitor swaps out certain colors with other ones, apparently not able to interpret color space information consistently. The ICC profile is squashed when you view it. It apparently happens on other size Sony LCD SDM monitors too. Skin tones on certain photos are swapped for hot purple, blues become hot green, certain User Interface colors are switched out too while others are unaffected. You can even watch a photo download--looking fine--only to go crazy upon the completion of the download. Went through all the standard troubleshooting, reinstalling systems, testing my hardware, calling tech support. Come to find out this monitor either works great or goes berserk depending on your particular CPU and graphics card. Not documented on Sony's site. Make sure you have a return policy.
