Spy Kids 3-D - Game Over

1 Confusing
This movie was very good in the action seens and special Fx. But there were some quite confusing parts. When carmen and Juni entered the game only their minds were in the game and they remained completely motionless. But when the people at the lab were explaining the plot of the Toy maker to Juni and showed that film of the boy with the glasses and a joystick trying to see around his parents waving hands, well it just doesn't go together. Then the part where the Toymaker was freed and his robot was running lose. If you needed the glasses to see it then wouldn't civilians be seeing the cortezes fighting air or standing on nothing? But Juni and his father were still staring at the machine even after they took off their glasses. Like I said "confusing"
2 A Lot Different Than The First Two
Although it does bring back some old characters toward the end of the film, this movie isn't that great. It does have some pretty good fighting scenes, but most of it is just plain dull. The sotry line isn't that great, either.
3 A kid's second review
This movie is really cool. I rented this movie from Video World. This movie could be suitable for children ages 8 and up. This movie is rated PG for action sequences and peril.- Cristian Mojica

4 This movie is made so so and i mean so underrated!!
CHEESY AND STUDID , from the first sec of this movie it has never stop to being a stupid movie, yet for some reason after 30 mins and so the movie successfully shut me up to ask that question again, as indeed the idea of this movie IS about cheesiness and stupidity and all the fun about that. One must ask how could I make such kindda applause to appreciate stupidity. The reason? the 3D and real human performance are techniqily impossble before but it does on this one that they merch seamlessly and I mean totally seamless. Has anyone seen "skycaptain and the world of tommorrow"? in that movie, except for the actors everything else is done 3D but its a totally boring movie since u can tell which part is human and which are 3D and there is no real actions in the whole movie. What spykids 3D does is to successfully to make real people interact with non exsiting 3D object and it does make u think they are interacting with each other in the movie, this is really the next big step toward cinema fictions. And come on people just admit it yourself even how stupid the script and plot that sounds, IT IS fun to watch, you know it does just ask your heart. To just watch the robot fight, the racing scene are worth the money. I would rate this movie the best action movie of 2004 right next to HP and bourne supremacy
5 not that great.
The movie was awful the only reason I liked
it was becuase it was 3D.The movie itself was just cheesy
and boring. If you take off the 3D glasses it looks funny
but if you dont it kinda hurts your eyes. This is the only 3D movie I have ever seen so im not sure if the 3D part was all that great.
6 Review of the 3rd Dimension
Spy Kids 3-D is followed a year after Juni Cortez(Daryl Sabara)
retires from the O.S.S..When Juni recieves an urgent message
of news about his sister Carmen(Alexa Vega)being trapped in
the latest video game,"Game Over",he decides it is all up to him
to rescue her.Battling through the 3-D world of pogo toads, robot
arenas, mega races, fighting with glowing staffs and lava monsters,Juni is assisted by his grandpa(Ricardo Montalban)
succeeding in finding Carmen and shutting down the game. But
matters only got worse when the toymaker(Sylvester Stallone)breaks free of Cyber Space as he releases huge robots(in 3-d of
course)into the city. But of course Juni and Carmen find it to easy to out-smart them as they call in the family and the family
friends. However a happy ending occurs when grandpa helps the toymaker realise he is good not bad.I like Spy Kids 3-D but as
a matter of fact I really like Spy Kids2!
7 Sylvester Stallone's support acting.
Well, Sylvester Stallone is born to be the major actor of a movie. Thus, his supporting act is not working.

Why? Trivial actions done by the main actors and actresses there did not impress. Sylvester Stallone himself outshines others. As usual, Sylvester Stallone worked hard. For a 1- to 3- minute show time, Sylvester perhaps worked more than 9 days to get all parts of the 4 roles filmed into his portion.

Again, a great show. Stallone is a great main actor. He needs to be filmed in a great movie, or, the TV show "The Contender", like what they do to him now.
8 A complete disappointment
Even the kids did not care for this overly long and amateurish movie that was a real letdown after the fun we had seeing the first movie, in particular.
9 A new standard -- but not a good one
The worst movie I have ever seen. And the 3D hurt my eyes.
10 Different
This was less interesting to me than the first two. The bulk of the film takes place in a virtual reality, and since this ain't Pixar...

Buy or rent it for your kids. And be sure to check out Alexa Vega in concert, on the DVD extras. Good music, and Alexa is all grown up!
11 This is so cool
My children love this movie. I think it has wonderful characters with strong family ties and morality. I think the two leads are much better role models than most out there. But put all the social values aside and this is one cool movie. I am as much a fan as my kids and I must say that if these movies were out when I was a kid I would be playing I was Carmen every single day. A brilliant and funny movie. What a blast.
12 lame
spy kids 3 is the worst movie i have seen i felt like braking the disk in half and if you want to watch it in 3d you half to mess with your tv.witch sucks

14 Better than Matrix Reloaded and Star Wars !
I am an adult and I really loved this movie. The visual effects are very unique and interesting. The audio sound effects are also great. This movie is perfect for a 5.1 home theater system !

The movie comes with 2 disks. One disk is a regular version, and the second disk is a version to be watched with 3D glasses. I never used that second disk so I can't say that I suffered any headaches from watching it with the special glasses.
15 white kids only???
Living in a developing country, it was very easy to relate to "Spy Kids" 1 and 2. Part of its success was its multi-national cast.

After watching half the movie, "Spy Kids 3-D - Game Over," I threw the DVD in the trash. It seems that Robert Rodriguez lost his formula for making movies appealing to those outside the US.
16 Pretty good ending to the Spy Kids series
Another decent Spy Kids movie by Robert Rodriguez. This episode finds Juni Cortez (Daryl Sabara) drawn out of retirement to save his big sister Carmen (Alexa Vega) from the clutches of the Toymaker (Sly Stallone). The 3D is a good gimmick; it's been a long time since I've seen a new-release 3D movie.

Spy Kids 3D is more or less a low-tech Matrix knockoff for kids. To his credit, director Rodriguez doesn't spend much time asking pseudo-profound "what is reality" type questions. Instead, he answers them. Juni's reality is that he needs to save his sister; he doesn't care at all whether he's in the "real world" or in a video game. In this movie, "reality" is relative. But when Juni gets to choose a family member to help him, he's sharp enough to realize that his grandfather (Ricardo Montalban), crippled by the Toymaker in "real life," would therefore be his best choice in the "virtual reality" world.

The movie maintains a pretty good pace throughout, distracting the viewer from the fact that a lot of it is pretty silly, and it makes up for its cold virtual-reality settings by ending with some syrupy-sweet messages about the value of family and forgiveness. The movie's major weakness is Juni himself. Daryl Sabara is just not yet a good enough actor to justify his appearance in almost every frame. The other family members (Antonio Banderas and the standard "Robert Rodriguez cast") hardly appear at all. Why didn't Rodriguez instead decide to focus on the eminently talented Alexa Vega, especially since this is the last Spy Kids movie?

One more thing I have to say: am I the only one who's starting to get a little tired of Robert Rodriguez and his "Wow, I'm so cool, look how quickly and cheaply I made this movie" attitude? Robert, why should I care if you shot Spy Kids 3D in six weeks and made it for a tiny fraction of what most movies cost? I paid nine bucks to see Lord of the Rings, and I pay nine bucks to see your movies. Get over yourself: you're not an indie "flick" maker anymore. Take your movies seriously, spend some cash, and spend some time on them.

17 What a lame excuse for a movie!
Is this supposed to be a movie!?What total CRAP!
The plotline is laughable, the special effects are lame, (red and blue glasses) and the acting is pure, unadulterated, crapola.DO NOT BUY! If you are going to watch this, have a medic on call.Your nervous system will be damaged by this movie!
18 worst. movie. ever. EVER!
I am 12 years old and I am a babysitter. Once, when I was babysitting, the kids wanted to watch spy kids 3. I thought it looked okay. It wasn't okay. It was HORRIBLE

This movie was the worst one I've ever seen in all of my 12 years of living. Plot: Horrible. "The guy" has to go stop "The toymaker" he meets 3 kids, one who is supposed to be cool...what a dork. "Bounce on this thing and you'll go to the moooooon!!"

The 3d effects were horrible, so was the acting. Again though, I have to stress that the plot was garbage. Do NOT get this movie. If you do, I feel very, very sorry for you. There was nothing good about it at all. Why can't they let me rate it 0 stars...

*stamp of extreme disapproval*
19 What the...
This is the worst movie i've seen! Worse than The Village! The 3D glasses dont' make much of a difference and give people headaches and cramps. The story sucked and it averaged a 1 out of 100 on a reliable movie website! Stay away from this garbage if you know what's good 4 u. The DVD did a better job as a coaster and a frisbee than as a figment of entertainment.

Mr. GoodReview gives this item his stamp of disapproval.
20 Best Spy Kids Movie
everything in this movie are really cool my friends enjoy this movie and i'm glad that Robert Rodriguez made a 3-D movie thanks Robert.
21 AWFUL MOVIE!!!!!!
I am 12 years old and although this film is targeted for people around my age, I think this is an awful movie which is so boring and cheesy. Some parts are OK but this film was not that funny. I mean, if you look at the 3D effects, it's rubbish. What was the directer thinking of, putting the '3D effects' in! I couldn't wear the 3D glasses because it hurt my eyes and I already wear glasses so it wasn't very clear. I didn't enjoy this film and I would probably recommend this film to young kids around 5-13 years old. Even if I'm 12, i think this film was awful, boring, cheesy and kinda rubbish!
22 KINDA GOOD
I DONT LIKE IT AS MUCH AS THE FIRST TWO,BUT IT`S PRETTY COOL BECAUSE IT`S IN 3 DIMENSIONS!
23 great!!!!!!!!
i seen this film in theatres and the 3D comes right to your face .so i bought the dvd and the 3D effects come right out of the screen.then i watched it on my relatives small tv in there vehicle and wow.the effects are as good as when you see them in the movie theatre.i mean right to your face.awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111
24 Spy Kids: Series Over
Even though it was targeted at my age group, it was awful. The 3-d effects are awful. I mean, the color is awful, and one of the people I was watching it with got sick from the glasses. It seams to be be parodying the matrix by having 'the guy,' it takes place in a cumputer room, one thing I found in common is the line 'there is no spoon,' the movie feels like 'there is no plot.' Acting is awful in this. When I first heard that it was shot in only a month in a half, I was impressed. After I saw it, I could not believe it took so long to shoot it.
25 Worst Movie EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This has to hit my bottom 100 list. The dialogue is cheesy, the special effects are crap and the actors have about no idea how bad this was. When we look at them grab an object thee special effects are terrible. I would love to know what these people were smoking when they came up with this script. And positive, negative 3D glasses( the ones with one lense red and the other blue) make the image even worse. I could hardly see!!!
But thankfully, I watched this at my friends house, so I did not pay for it.Do yourself a favor and just nod away in disgust when you see this DVD...
26 Worth it for the commentary
This is a pretty cheesy movie, a poorly connected sequence of action scenes in CGI. On the other hand, some of those scenes outdo big-budget movies; I thought the outlandish street race in oversized video vehicles was better than the pod race in Star Wars I, and with a less annoying kid.

As bad as it is, it's all worth it to watch Rodriguez's commentary, to hear him discuss the process of making a 3D movie, the future of digital cinema, and how he saved money and made a mildly entertaining (and hugely financially successful) movie under strict time and budget constraints.

Some of my favorite parts of the commentary:

"We didn't have this animation done on time, so we just had the character complain how it looked like an old video game."

"I wasn't sure if people would get splitting headaches from the 3D, so I made the movie only 80 minutes. That way, if it was a problem, at least it would be over soon."

The funniest parts are slightly apologetic, but there's plenty more to learn from, and he's never at a loss for words. Unlike typical DVD commentary, there isn't any dead time while he thinks of some bit of trivia about what's on the screen.

27 Fun, Fun and More Fun
This movie is cool. The 3-D effects are cool. Of course this movie is cheezy but that is why it is fun. I got to see this movie in theater first and I would say that is was better in theater but it was still cool on my 32 in. screen. This is a must have for Spy Kids fans. Hopefully you have a DVD player because only the DVD is in 3-D, the VHS is not in 3-D, sorry VHS users who are Spy Kids fans.
28 awesome movie ,awesome acting,awesome 3D
this movie is truly the best of the series and the greatest anaglyph 3D yet.i seen this movie in the theatres and the 3D effects are awesome. and i loved it so much had to buy it on dvd.i got home took out the 3D glasses popped in the dvd and wow right off the start the menu is 3D and everything.i pressed start film and the dimension films comes up just sits there for a second then starts to come of the screen and just explodes out of the screen.then floops floogle talks and sticks his hand out of the screen a couple times.then he tells you to take off the glasses for about 10 minutes then the excitment starts up again when juni enters the game and puts the glasses on.then frog tongues, health packs, hands, lava, race cars, claws and everthing come right of the screen right at ya.buy this dvd now!
29 Strictly for kids!
I saw the first "Spy Kids" movie when I was 13. I thought it was great then, and I still do. The humor is pretty good, and the spy technology is just a little ahead of our time, yet is presented in a way that appears as if it was invented recently. Naturally, I really wanted to see "Spy Kids 2". The novelty wore off after a few viewings. When "Spy Kids 3D" came out, I thought the story looked like it could be fun, and I decided to see it. My verdict: Rondriguez is going to the kids. That's why I don't like "Spy Kids 2" anymore. The gadgets are too futurisic look like they came from Toon Town. "Spy Kids" was relatively down to earth, but with new movies, Rondriguez is doing his best to appeal to the elementary school crowd. The gadgets are a dead giveaway in "Spy Kids 2". In "Spy Kids 3D", everything makes it obvious that the movie is for kids. If you've seen it, you know what I mean. The movie is very fast paced and the story is very basic. But to kids, that doesn't matter. All they need to know is that Juni is playing through a video game to stop the Toymaker from taking over the world. That's what they want, and that's what the movie delivers. To sum it up, this is a kid-only movie. That shouldn't be a problem since those types of movies occasionaly are released. What concerns me is that the director packages "Spy Kids 3D" as "A 3D experience for the WHOLE FAMILY!" The keyword here is whole, and I don't know if Rondriguez knows this, but family includes Mom, Dad, and teens, none of which will be interested in this movie. If you've got a kid whose 12 or under and wants to see this, rent it for them on DVD, then go from there.
30 SPY KIDS 3D
I am a fan of spy kids.I did love 3D but when i heard that its 3rd part would be 3D I WAS AMAZED.i am in pakistan when the movie came in theatre i go to it and it was a wonderful experinece. The 3D effects were good and the movie was also good.Things were coming out of the screen.i am waiting for the DVD in PAKISTAN so the things will come out of my television!
31 WHAT HAPPENED!!!!
First of all, I saw this movie at my friend's house, and I thought that it wasn't all that good. In fact, it was very disappointing. First, no offense but the so-called 3-D effects STUNK!!!! Second, this one was barely even funny at all! Finally, I thought that the plot was really dumb. I don't mean to be offensive but this movie was VERY disappointing. I think my friend got ripped off when he bought this movie. I prefer the first and second movies.
32 How you play the game
I see this movie is get bad reviews, but I will not give this a bad review. After the first 2 Spy Kids movie, Robert Rodriguez brings us a 3rd movie, which is titled Spy Kids 3D: Game Over, if you are watching the 3D version of the movie, and if you are watching the 2D verison then it would be called Spy Kids 3: Game Over. boo725, the actor's name who plays Juni is Daryl Sabara. As the movie opens, stubborn Juni (Daryl Sabara) has left the OSS, and has become a private eye, and keeps telling the OSS that he is no longer an adgent, and he can't help them. He has his office in the tree house that his uncle Machete made for Juni and his older sister Carmen Cortez (Alexa Vega) after they became secret agents. And he is visited by Gerti Giggles (Emily Osment), and after she leave he gets a call from Devlin (George Clooney), and he tells Devlin that he is into reality and the reality is nothing Devlin can say will make Juni return to the OSS as a secret agent. Then Delvin delivers the bad news, his sister is missing. So, he goes off to OSS where he is taken to games and theory, where bad boy turned good boy Donnagon Giggles (Mike Judge) and his wife (Salma Hayek) is waiting for him. They ask him what he knows about a game called "Game Over" created by the Toymaker (Sylvester Stallone) who is prisoned in cyber space, by the OSS year ago. Carmen went until the game by herself, because her only choice would not answer their calls, and got has far as level 4, and then disappeared into the game and is a prisoner of the Toymaker. Now with 3D glasses on, Juni is sent into the game, and has to start on level 1. Where he meets Beta testers, Arnold (Ryan Pinkston), Francis (Bobby Edner) and Rez (Robert Vito). And they tell him the fast way to get to level 2, is to jump into a target that will get him to the moon, where level 2 is, and he finds himself in the arena of Missfortune, and has to battle a mach to get to level 2, and he fights a girl named Demetra (Courtney Jines), and after a couple of rounds Juni wins, and off to level 2, where he runs into Arnold, Rez, and Francis who mistakes him for the Guy. But one has his doubts, and they changgle him to a mega race, where Juni wins, is congratulated by his grandfather (Richard Montalban) whom he brought in the game, without realzieing the Toymaker was the one that put Grandfather in the wheelchair, 30 years before the movie takes place, but when Demetra discovers, that Juni is not the real gut, she asks him to at least act like he is the real guy. Elijah Wood plays the real Guy in the movie.
33 Brilliant 3D ,Good movie
First of , the 3D effects on a properly ajusted projection system ,be at home or on 35mm in a theatre were brilliant, the best red & green ever, & I am going back to 1936 and those short productions they used to show.
Congratulations guys for a brilliant concept,
granted the story was a bit weak, but it was one hell of an experience.
buy it on DVD its worth the money. Later.. paul.
34 Spy Kids: Game Over.......Literally!
Well, let me put it this way; I sincerely hope that this poor excuse of a movie concludes the making of Spy Kids movies forever. I mean, let's just face it! The movies are getting worse by the minute! I wasn't too crazy about Spy Kids to begin with, and after the second movie, I tried to do a favor for myself and made a pact with myself never to see another Spy Kids movie voluntarily for as long as I live, but unfortuately, when I went to the movies with a couple of close friends, everything else was sold out except Game Over (I wonder why....), we wound up having to see it, and that was that.

First off, the movie itself lacked......well, actually, it lacked everything, but most of all it lacked a good plot, humor, meaning, and good acting. Four things that, for the most part, every good movie needs.

I mean, any moviemakers can make a crappy movie, throw in some 3-D, and make some money. Just the idea of 3-D makes people willing to spend the money to go see it, but that's a shame, because this movie isn't worth a cent to go see.

After I realized the movie was a total dud, I looked around the theater to see other people's reactions to the movie. In the beginning of the 3-D part*, most little kids were transfixed on the screen, but 10 minutes into it, most kids were already wriggling and playing with their candy. Some people, both young and old, had taken their glasses off, and were either just watching it without them, or doing something else.

* I forgot to mention earlier that not all of the movie is 3-D. Only about half is, maybe even less.

So, in conclusion, this movie is a total waste of your time, effort, and money. Do yourself a favor and don't even think about buying it.

35 my sons loved it!
I took my 2 sons to see this in the theater. (...) . My second grader adores Spy Kids. They loved this movie! I am amazed that anyone would give it bad reviews. Of course it's corny - it's made to appeal to kids. I think the actor who plays Juni is a fantastic actor. I think that the film has a good message for children and is very fun.
36 Best Part of Movie was the Closing Credits!
My kids and I hated this movie. We liked the first two but this one was terrible. It had nothing to do with the 3-D. And I like Ricardo Montalnan and Antonio Banderas. It should be voted one of the worse movies of all time!
37 WORST.MOVIE.EVER!
If I could describe this movie in one word...Atrocious.This movie has a lame plot, horrible acting, (especially Juni)
and,(drumroll, please) the worst thing about the movie is the whole love affair between Juni and the computer girl,Dimitra.BARF!

Also, the 3-D effects hurt my eyes sometimes. This movie should carry an surgeon general's warning.

SURGEON GENERAL'S WARNING:ALLOWING YOUR KIDS TO WATCH THIS CRAP WILL DUMB THEM DOWN AND MAKE THEM THINK THAT THEY ARE,"THE GUY".

Actually, this movie is sort of a Matrix parody.Okay,Juni is "The Guy". (in the Matrix,Neo is "The One")
All of these people are in a computer-generated world. (sounds familiar,eh?)

(...)

38 Much better on video than in the theater
First off, let me start by saying that I own all three Spy Kids movies and although I'm an adult male with no kids, I've seen the first one probably 5 times and the second one thrice...so I'm not a typical Spy Kids fan. However, I am a big fan of Robert Rodriguez and his maverick style of filmmaking, as well as his films (particularly the Desperado films, which are about as opposite from Spy Kids as you can get). Also, his DVD's are always loaded with tons of extras including commentary, behind the scenes footage, his "10-minute Film School" videos and other material. So his films are always worth the DVD purchase.

Aside from writing and directing his films, Rodriguez is also the cinematographer, editor, production designer, visual effects supervisor and producer. Oh yeah, and HE ALSO WRITES THE MUSIC!!! Because his films are made on ultra-tight budgets yet always reap massive box office, he enjoys creative freedom unheard of to anyone in the motion picture business not named George Lucas. That's how he was able to make a 3-D film for kids.

So what's the verdict?

Well, when I first saw Spy Kids 3-D in the theater I was definitely underwelmed. Perhaps I was sitting too close to the screen or maybe the picture was out of focus, but more than anything the 3-D gave me a headache and frequently I had to remove the glasses to give my eyes a rest.

But a funny thing happened when I watched it again on DVD...IT WAS LIKE SEEING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME! Thanks to the sharpness of DVD (they actually recommend you watch it on a computer monitor, which is higher quality), the 3-D effect was awesome! In fact, after watching it I put in Spy Kids 2, and that movie immediately seemed weak in comparison to the dynamic 3-D effect of the third movie.

Now some reviewers here have complained about the story, and they are right, it lacks the charm and wit of the other Spy Kids films. However, as Rodriguez mentions in the commentary on the disc, this is largely due to the fact that it originally was not going to be a Spy Kids film...He set out to make a 3-D film for kids that would progress like a video game, and decided later to shoehorn that plot into a Spy Kids film. And I think he succeeded...the movie advances very similarly to the way a video game advances through various levels of increasing difficulty. The visuals are cool and if you haven't seen it, the movie is worth checking out!

39 Scamming the customer
I purchased this video for my mother-in-law to give to my daughter for Easter. She was so excited & really wanted the movie. (She had seen it in the theater & loved it.) To everyone's surprise & my daughters ultimate dissapointment, the VHS WAS NOT 3D. That was part of the appeal of this movie, getting to wear the cool glasses & seeing the special effects. Now I have to go purchase the DVD to get her a 3-D version. What a way to scam the consumer!
40 Very cool movie
Being a fan of the previous Spy Kids movies, I decided to see this one. And I don't regret seeing it at all. It's a very good movie, the best Spy Kids movie so far. It is definitely worth seeing (more than once!) This movie is on my list of recommmendations. It's really fun, doesn't get too boring like some movies do. If you have more than 4 family members, then you can order glasses on-line. People need to just get the DVDs since they come with the glasses. I mean, who doesn't have a DVD player? Getting a DVD is worth the few extra dollars, especially in this case. The DVD format comes with special features, and this one comes with lots of special features. The movie is good, you get a behind-the-scenes look at what it took to make the movie-it's a good buy.
About the movie:
Juni Cortez is called in by the OSS to go save his sister, Carmen, who is trapped in a video game. Juni goes inside the videogame, but will he be able to shut the video game down? Watch the movie for the exciting 3-D and to find out what happens. Even parents will like, Spy Kids movies, too!
41 Spy Kids have gone a bit too far...but still a decent show!
In my opinion, I think that the creators of Spy Kids were worried that this movie would do poorly, so they added the new feature: 3D.

It gets fairly annoying watching TV with those 3D glasses on. Grant it, the 3D is pretty cool, but the colors aren't even right: There are only two.

I think they would've been better off if they let the 3D stuff alone.
-----
Okay, now getting onto the actual movie.

STORYLINE (4.5 / 5):
Interesting, definitaly for children from ages 9-13.

VALUE: (4 / 5):
DEFINITALY get the DVD version: It has so much more stuff. For one, the Bonus Features are great, and there are no 3D Glasses with the VHS version.

GRAPHICS (4.5 / 5):
Everything was awesome, except for the fact that the colors weren't right.

REPLAY VALUE (3.5 / 5):
This is one flaw of the Spy Kids movie: you usually only watch them once.

OVERALL: (4 / 5):
A good movie, but you may want to rent it first. I find it hard to watch this movie again and again, and if you rent it, that's all you'll need. (BE SURE TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU ASK IF IT COMES WITH THE 3D GLASSES WHEN YOU RENT IT)
-----
MORE INFO YOU MIGHT WANT TO KNOW:

*The DVD comes with 4 3D Glasses

*If you get the DVD version, you CAN watch it normally, without the 3D glasses. It will appear normal to you, unlike if you are watching the 3D version without the glasses

*When watching with the 3D glasses, my eyes began to be stressed. Now, nobody else watching had this problem, just an FYI.

Happy shopping, and thanks for reading my review!

42 Spy Kids 3:D - Game Over.....LITERALLY!!!
Don't buy it. Please. Save yourself 20 bucks and buy something useful. This thing is a waste of time and money. I mean, if I remember correctly, the movie only comes with 4 pairs of movie glasses. What happens if more than 4 people want to watch the movie? Come on, it's not that unusual for a family to have more than 4 members, now, is it? And the movie is senseless without the 3-D glasses, but, well, half the movie isn't 3-D anyhow, so it's senseless WITH the glasses too, so actually it's a lose-lose situation. Yeah, you might get a kick out of the 3-D part....ONCE!!! But it's not even worth the money to rent it. Like I said, half the movie isn't even 3-D.
Please, I said it once and I'll say it again, don't waste the time, the money, or the effort. Take a pass on it. Don't even bother to rent it.
43 WHO STABED ME IN THE EYES

44 Good for the kids
My four year old son begged me for this movie as many of his friends at school kept talking about it. I had passed this movie over several times thinking it was too old for him. I finally gave in and purchased it for him. He LOVES it. It is so funny to see him sitting there so intense with the glasses on. The plot line was a little boring for me to watch, but the 3D effects were better than I thought they would be. They are definitely not as good as you find at Theme Parks such as the Muppets at Disneyland, etc, but they are respectable. Most of the movie takes place inside a video game which is why it really didn't appeal to me, but for kids it's great.
45 I understand that there is two GREAT DVDs!!!
If you want to see Spy Kids 3-d, why not get the dvd. Because there is a 2-d version too. Even though the movie is the same as when it was in the movies, you don't have to use the 3-d glasses if you didn't want to. The movie is great. Buy this now!
46 An Awesome and Very Funny Film!
This was the funniest movie I have ever seen in my life. The 3D effects are amazing, however not realistic at all. It is so random, stupid, and horribly directed that it is hilarious. My friends and I drove down to the movie store one night and picked up this movie, and then later, behind the building we picked up a bag of dro. We took the movie and the dro home and started watching it. We then began to toke. When the girl with the pig tails flew in I nearly crapped my pants. But then at the end when this Mexican guy comes from the sky on a flying pig I couldn't take it anymore. I was rolling around on the floor laughing. But the funniness of the film would have been greatly decreased if I was sober. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is under the influence, and for people of all ages. It doesn't matter how old you are, but if you enjoy watching movies that are so stupid that they are funny, this movie is for you. Buy this movie!
47 Spy Kids 3-D:Game Over
Spy Kids 3-D:Game Over is good in theaters, and GREAT on the DVD. Disc 1:Spy Kids 3-D, Mega race 3-D game, Robert Rodreiguiz ten-minute film school, Alexa Vega in Concert, and audio commentary. Disc 2:Spy Kids 3, 2-D Mega Race game, The Making of Spy Kids 3-D, and more! If you buy the video, you don't get 3-D. The DVD is not a waste of money.
48 not bad
The 3D is pretty cool but there isn't much of a story . Just cool special effects . A kid will say it's cool but an adult will say the other movies are better .
49 stupid, dull and annoying
Breathtaking in theatres, but drowsy and boring on the 2-d dvd. I am oppoled on what they had to do to make this, but, this is one of the few movies that shouldn't be on DVD because of how it looks, it is a waste of time and money. rent it, you will understand me. It is kiddish and annoying, Yeah, your 5-year old kids will like it, you might like it for a while, but your eyes will get tired and the DVD is garbage. Why did these people ruin such a wonderful series of movies? The awnser, only the Mexicans know.
50 What a waste of money!!
Man[!] the Movie is sssooo Corny[!] Its really not wat i thought it would be jeez[!] its horrible[!] And so short! it made no sense! I mean where did juni's girlfriend come in[?] i never saw her before[!] It hurt my eyes a lot gave me a headache. The first spy kids was like really so much better. And Plus when did the family come in?? yeah at the end but the movie was based on Juni and Carmin in a computer game tryin to make people not addicted to the games when the people in there think that Juni is the guy[!] wat is up with thAT!! Belive me its not worth it please dont buy the movie[!]
51 THE VHS HAS NO 3D GLASSES - IT'S NOT 3D!
What a waste. My son was so upset that the VHS doesn't come with it. What good is it!
52 spy kids 3 is great!!!!
I Love spy kids 1 and 2 and 3!!!!!
i love spy kids 3 but not just for the 3D effects, i love it
for the story and the story is great!!! the video still has
a little 3D effect but not much. it's the best one next to
spy kids 2. i liked the 2nd one because of the story and the
creatures. ok?
53 This Movie is very cool-Everyone is missing the point!
Everybody is being so annoying over how the 3D isn't great or how there is no plot. First of all, that is the whole point, it is a fun cheesy exciting movie for kids. Half the time anyone takes thier kids to the movies there is hardly anything going on that keeps them interested, even if it is a cartoon or whatever.
SpyKids 3D wanted to make this movie experience a very different one for kids and adults, an exciting one where in order to see the movie, you need special glasses. Fine the 3D isn't Imax status but it was intended to have video game graphics, hence the title, game over!
For anyone who has ever had a Viewmaster (you know, those little binocular looking toys that project images with circular discs) well, you get that kind of 3D in this movie. Rodriguez was celebrating the 50 year anniversary of 3D (stereoscopy) in itself.
For anyone looking for things to pop out of the screen and hit em in the head, go stand in front of a bus, but for those of you who appreciate an escape from the real world into fantasy, red/blue lenses and all, than you will definately enjoy this movie.
54 A must watch for all budding filmmakers
This is a must watch for anyone thinking about getting into the movie business. With exquisite accuracy, Spy Kids 3D depicts the total lack of imagination that has so enraptured the American film industry. Movies like this should be made into a federal offense for its contribution to the dumbing down of the United States. For the budding film maker take notes in this movie. This is not how to make a good film.
55 Awsome
This movie is truely a great movie to watch. Many people complain about the 3-D because it is fuzzy. That is always not true because most of the time the TV is the problem.
56 So what if the movie isn't perfect? 3-D rules
If you get any version of "Spy Kids 3-D", be sure and get the DVD version. This sequel was kinda like an updated version of "Tron", only with 3-D added to it. So what if the plot was stuffy, and so what if Razzie Award winner Sylvester Stallone was in it? The real star of this movie is the 3-D itself.

I watched the 3-D version with my glasses of course. Even though the 3-D effects on TV were not A-1 perfect (with the limited technical capabilities of your standard TV set), it still is as close to the original theatrical experience as possible. You know, the 3-D really looks good on TV...not excellent, but good, and that's why the DVD succeeds on its own.

For me, it was a great experience just seeing any 3-D movie on video. I recommend this.

By the way, if you can do without the 3-D, the regular 2-D version is also on this DVD. But go for the 3-D first. Despite its occasional flaws, you will not regret it.

57 Better 3D 50 years ago...
If there were a decent storyline to this movie you could at least watch it in 2D, but without the 3D there is no reason to watch this film at all -- and the 3D here is worse than the plot of this stinker. In the 70's, at a midnight showing, I saw "House of Wax" with Vincent Price, a 3D film made in 1953. Believe me, that was GREAT 3D! They used some kind of a polarization technique which allowed the lenses of the glasses to be clear, letting full Technicolor through. The crummy red/blue technology used in "Spy Kids 3" should be reserved for comic books. If they could do it right 50 years ago, why couldn't they do it last year? Pretend that star up there has a minus sign in front of it, and avoid this bomb like leprosy.
58 3-D Is Cool
Buy This You Will Love It Spy Kids 3-D IS By Far The Best Spy Kids Movie Ever The 3-D Glasses Can Get Itchy At Times Thats Why I Give This Movie 4 Stars
59 It Rocks! :)
This movie is real cool! My mom didnt like it because she hates video games, and to her, whats worse than being in one! Anyway, I really like this movie in the 3rd dimension and 2nd demension. Except, the 3rd dimension is better! Sylvester Stalone was really good for the toymaker, but Juni acted way to wimpy in this movie. Thats why I call him Puny Juni! The plot is cool, and Rez is my favorite character.
60 Dissapointment
This really could have been good. I found the first two very entertaining. I could not watch fifteen minutes of this movie. I wear perscription glasses, and it was extremely hard to get the 3D glasses on in the first place. I finally settled with holding them up. The "3D" made my eyes hurt terribly, and dizzy even. And watching the 3D scenes without the glasses was not much better because of the overlays. As much as I had scene so far, the plot was really beginning to dissapoint me. I would not suggest this, especially anyone with perscription glasses. It screwed up my eyes for a couple days after.
61 Congratulations to Sylvester Stallone
Sylvester won his well-deserved 30th RAZZIE? nomination for the five roles he plays in this worthless mish-mosh. Rent it to see Stallone at his ABSOLUTE WORST, but don't waste your $$$$ to buy!
62 Spy Kids 3d= stupid movie.
I actually found this movie to be just as stupid as the other two movies were, only this time they threw in some tasteless jokes, lots of teen music sung by teenageres who can not sing, and the 3D effects could have been better used in a Playstation Video Game.
63 ....Disgusting
Honestly, how can one even consider such a bit of drivel to be worthy of a DVD release? One should normally be wary of these direct-to-video sequels, and in the case of the Spy kids Franchise, one sequel was already too much. Absolutely abysmal, with nothing more than a desire to exploit.
64 LAME GAME
I would have rated this 2 and a half. This was a really bad and dissapointing movie. Why didnt they just do a great 2D movie? A bad story line and bad 3D could only lead o a bad movie. I have seen way better 3D (in sea world) and also the 3D hurts yur eyes. Carmen is only in the movie for half the time and the actors look all mature and boring. The family scene was so dumb I cant beleive the director isnt embarassed for putting it in. The only good scene is when juni has the robot fight wit demetra. Such tiwsts and turns shouldnt be in a movie which was meant to be simple. A DEFINATE NO-NO.
65 The Best Spy Kids Movie Yet!
The Spy Kids are back again! This time, their trademark action is combined with the very latest digital technology, and the thrill of the 3-D experience to deliver a motion picture event that pushes family fun to the next level! Secret agents Juni (Daryl Sabera) and Carmen Cortez (Alexa Vega) set out on their most mind-blowing mission yet: a journey inside the virtual reality world of a 3-D video game where awe-inspiring graphics and creatures come dangerously to life! As they face escalating challenges through increasingly difficult levels of the game, the Spy Kids must rely on humor, high-tech gadgets and the bonds of family in order to stop a power hungry villian (Sylveser Stallone) set on controlling the youth of the world! Also starring favorites Antonio Banderas,Carla Gugino and Ricardo Montalban in an incredible all-star cast!
66 NOT 3D ... Just Distorted... Waste of Time and $
Not 3D in the least. Some reviewers have said that the 3D effect was impressive, I see no 3D effect at all. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I'm watching it on a plasma tv (Panasonic not the Gateway), but that only seems to validate my review. If you spend the money for a high end HDTV plasma TV you should see 3D if there is 3D to be seen. This review refers to the DVD version which includes both 3D and 2D versions of the film. EXTREMELY DISAPOINTING! Story aside ... if you want the 3D effect ... (and you have a plasma TV at the minimum) DO NOT EXPECT 3D!
I loved the first Spy Kids, and the second had moments of greatness ... but if you are going to market something as 3D it shoul;d be 3D!

Signed,

The Angry Consumer

67 GREAT 3D~~TOO Much Anger From Cast is Obvious...
Throughout the movie, you can see how the ENTIRE Cast is Angry& Tensed! Maybe Cuz THIS Is their LAST film in the series, and maybe cuz "Juni", is the ONLY Main Character? "The Cortez Family", ALL look Terribly OLDER, and BORING!.....Look, the ONLY "Good" thing about this movie , is the 3D effects. Oh, and "Carmen" has had SINGING lessons This Time around, to Once AGAIN, :( , "Sing" the Closing Spy Kids "song"!?! ...this is NOT worth renting, OR buying!!
68 How to Get Decent 3D Effects (It can be done!)
We tried this first on our TV/DVD/Surround setup, and found the 3D effects to be awful at best. Following the setup instructions, we discovered the best viewing would be on a PC equipped with a DVD player, so we quickly shifted to our box running 1280 x 1024 resolution. Here are some quick tips on getting the most out of the 3D effects:

(1) View the movie on a computer (unless you own an HDTV set, or possibly a great TV with component video input).
(2) Keep the room completely dark. We started watching in daylight, but finished that evening. The difference was astounding.
(3) Live with the color distortions.

Overall, the 3D effects were decent and fun, but not amazing. There's a limit to what can be done with the red-blue technology chosen for this film.

As for the film, the story was a bit underwhelming, but it was still entertaining (especially for our younger children). There are some good lessons about revenge, forgiveness, and cooperation.

I found the "10-Minute Film School" featurette to be wonderful, especially regarding the demonstrations of adding sound effects to home movies.

Overall, this was a decent film, but does not hold up well beside the first Spy Kids movie, to which I would have given 5 stars.

69 The 3d in SPY KIDS 3D
*NOTE THIS REVIEW IS MORE ABOUT THE 3D THAN THE MOVIES PLOT ( WHICH THERE IS LITTLE OF )*

Before you even bother to watch this DVD at home you need to take some things into account. If you wear glasses you are in trouble, it is very difficult to wear glasses and 3d glasses ( the glasses included are also very large and bulky so younger children may have problems with the glasses slipping off ). Next make sure you have a pretty damn good TV if you want reasonable 3d effect, a 100hz TV is great ( or plasma but only 5 people have them ). Make sure you connect you DVD through RGB cables for best picture quality, this will help improve the 3D. Also make sure you are sitting in a dark room as lights can cause problems with the 3D effect.

***The best way to watch SPY KIDS 3D is on your pc ! The resolution is higher and the 3D effect is almost 40% better than you'll see on tv***

Now how is the 3D is SPY KIDS 3D at home ? Well....it's ok. Expect nothing earth shattering if you have ever seen 3D before. All kinds of stuff is thrown out of the screen at the audience but you don't get the feeling of them being "right in front of your nose". Instead the best 3D effect is depth, the actors do stand out from the background very well, the effect is like a pop up book. Sometimes the 3D fails completely especially when the images are moving very quickly ( the megarace scene is very difficult to watch due to everything moving too fast, the 3D effect is lost ).

SPY KIDS 3D uses the old red/blue glasses system which is not perfect. The movies colours in 3D are very strange, a kind of purple/green hue. Another problem with this system is the picture can become very foggy, so sometimes it can be difficult to pick out certain details.

As for headaches, i didn't get a headache or eyestrain while watching this movie, but many people do, so if you feel headachy just pause the movie and rest your eyes for 5 minutes.

This is a great introduction to 3D if you have never seen a 3D movie before. Also children will have great fun with the 3D. But if you have seen 3D before then you might feel a little let down by SPY KIDS 3D.

70 Great movie in 2-D only, 3-D gave us a splitting headache
"SPY KIDS 3-D: Game Over" Despite the lack of some of my favorite characters from Spy Kids 1 and 2, and despite that my least favorite character(the young boy/brother "spy kid", Juni) is the main character in this movie, and despite the awful splitting headache the 3-D version gave my wife and I(my 2 children didn't suffer any headaches), we really loved Spy Kids 3-D. I've seen some of the negative reviews and I strongly disagree with them. SK3-D is action packed and loaded with fantastic special effects. I'm not exactly sure what some folks are looking for in a movie, but the title of this one should say it all(SPY KIDS). My kids love the entire trilogy, as do I, and as far as action movies go, they're very tame and for the most part they're family friendly.
2 thumbs up and a must have DVD for any action-movie fan that wants to sit down with the entire family. *WARNING* Just be careful of those dreaded 3-D glasses, there's a reason why there aren't many 3-D movies and last night I figured out why!
71 The worst "3-D" effects ever.
Ever been to a 3-D movie at an IMAX theater? Great 3-D effects there, but this is a discrace.

At the IMAX they give you 3-D classes that are CLEAR.The Spy kids movie gives you the old school red and blue."Whats so bad about that?" EVERYTHING!

When you put on the glasses the screen turns to a colorful mess.In the commercial Juni's suite is yellow, but in the movies with your glasses his suite is red or orange or something.Everyone's suite is the wrong color.Maybe you think:"Ew,I don't want to watch the movie like this." Good idea right?WRONG!

If you take off your "3-D" glasses, you will be sent to blurry oblivion. So it's your pick:terrible colors or blurry to the max.

Thank god the DVD version has the movie in a 2-D option.

And for you video game lovers, this movie talks a little bit about Metroid and Halo. :)

72 Short, to the point, and fun.
First, if the 3D effect is important to you, STAY AWAY from the VHS version. No 3D effects on that at all. As far as the DVD itself is concerned, it has all you need to enjoy this roller-coaster of a movie. Up front, this movie is pure dreck. Every point in the plot is worthless. Thin and silly. But, just like one of my other favorite movies 'SPEED' with our Matrix-man Keanu Reeves, this movie is flat-out fast-paced and fun. The 3D effects were completely unnecessary, but also a nice novelty. The ending went completely against the grain of the typical action flick. Putting the 'Grandfather' (Richardo Montalban) up against the 'Bad guy' ( Sylvester Stallone). This movie is seriously short. 1 hour and 12 minutes + credits. That's it. But, it's a wild ride that you will likely watch many times over. Not as good as part one of the series, but, better than part two in my humble opinion.
73 Remember TRON?
Hey, does anybody remember TRON? Sure reminds me a lot TRON, which I think was a much better movie.
74 a laugh a minute great special effects
roberto rodriguez has done it again, for me anyway! now i've got the el mariachi trilogy, and all 3 spy kids dvds. this new one, in 3d (or a 2nd disc in 2d) is incredibly paced with rodriguez' usual frenetic pace, but the 3d effects are really awesome, as is the ac-3 sound, musical score, etc. all done by mr. rodriguez himself-he obviously loves the movie industry and uses it to his wildly imaginative abilities-for sheer fun that can be enjoyed over and over again by everyone in the household, grab this 2 dvd set-you'll not be let down.
75 DVD 3D effect isn't ready for prime time
Those who are into Spy Kids no what to expect and will probably like this one.

I was disappointed with the 3D effect in the DVD which is sometimes pretty good and other times not so hot. There are scenes in which the red and blue images converge correctly in the foreground, but not in the background. And, the overall darkness of the picture and strain on the eyes that others have commented about work against the overall effect that 3D thrill seekers are hoping for.

Towards the end of the movie, the unexpected use of the word "Corinthian" by Ricardo Montalban provided an instant trip back to the 80's car commercials he did, when he would describe Chrysler's "Corinthian Leather" interiors. A nice touch for the older viewers!

76 Awesome 2-Disc DVD in 3-D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Spy Kids 3-D:Game Over DVD is awesome!!!Disc 1:Spy Kids 3-D, Alexa Vega in Concert,3-D set-up{pick the way you want your 3-D},and Mega Race 3-D set-top game.Disc 2:Spy Kids 3,Robert Rodreiguiz ten-minute film school,The Making of Spy Kids 3-D, and more!! This is a great DVD!!!

77 A Historical Achievement!
Mankind has truly taken a step into the technological future with "Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over" and it's highly creative genius! The little boy Juni Cortez (Daryl Sabara) gave up the O.S.S. to do private investigator work, but his sister Carmen (Alexa Vega) tried to play the evil Toymaker's (Sylvester Stallord) video game. She lost because she couldn't handle the wizardry of the diabolical genius. Then Juni came back to save his sister and the world. That's how extensive and intricate the plot of the story really is. Duh. The boy goes through these levels with computer nerds and he is the main star, but not quite. Evil Toymaker is the best character in this movie and he deserved an Oscar nomination for all FIVE of his roles. Only Sylvester Stallord can truly dominate a motion picture like this! George Clooney does his best Stallord impression and scores big time. Kudos to you man. Yes, every person in the world should see this historical achievement. The set designs were more impressive than any "Star Wars" movie and the acting was phenomenal, especially Sylvester Stallord's. All of that raw emotion! Those kids can move! They were racing at 300 mph, surfing on lava, fighting with glowing sticks! The 3-D is monumental and it hasn't been this great since who knows! What an accomplishment! Robert Rodriguez did all of this stuff in his garage, can you believe that! I'm in awe and I have mad appreciation for everybody in this movie! Blissful harmony, rejoice!
78 DO NOT RENT OR BUY THIS CRAP
IT IS NOT 3D THEY JUST WANT U TO WASTE YOUR MONEY. IF YOU RENT OR BUY THIS YOUR WASTING YOUR TIME AND MONEY. Save it on something good like Master and commander or Last samurai or Brother bear for the kids
79 AMAZING MOVIE FROM AN UNIQUE DIRECTOR
This movie is very cool. The special effects are some of the best I have seen and it has Sylvester Stallone in it, what could be better than that? He is wonderful in this movie. WAY TO GO SLY. The storyline in very fun and interesting, oh yeah it is in 3-D. This is one of the biggest suprises in movie watching I have experienced. Buy it you will not regret it at all. THIS IS FUN..
80 Visually Inventive and Lots of Fun!
When Robert Rodriguez made the first Spy Kids film, it was a goof on the James Bond super spy movies with two kids finding out that their parents are internationally renowned spies. The sequel was a homage to the monster movies of Ray Harryhausen. Rodriguez wraps everything up with Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, which addresses his love of video games.

There is more style and imaginative visuals in the first ten minutes of this movie then the entirety of most kids' films. Rodriguez fills the screen with all kinds of details and with colourful objects zipping around in the background of scenes. This overload of visual stimulus invites repeated viewings just to catch all of the visuals that were missed the first time around. There is tons of eye candy that kids will love.

The 3-D effects isn't just a gimmick that Rodriguez hangs the entire film on. They are an integral part of the story as much of the film takes place in a three-dimensional virtual world with objects flying out at the audience and pieces of scenery sticking out.

Both 3-D and 2-D versions of the movie are available on the two DVDs with four pairs of 3-D glasses included.

"Robert Rodriguez Ten Minute Film School" continues his series of featurettes that show how elaborate effects or stunts were done simply and economically.

Robert Rodriguez contributes a relaxed, informative audio commentary. He talks at length about how he creatively cut costs by building almost all of the film's sets on a computer. He also talks about his love of video games and how he realized long ago that they are addictive and how deeply kids can get immersed in them.

"The Making of Spy Kids 3D" is a twenty-minute look at how the film was made. There are the standard interviews with the cast and Rodriguez.

"The Effects of the Game" is a montage of footage showing how some of the fantastic computer effects were achieved set to music from the movie.

There is a multi-angle feature that takes the surfing lava sequence from the movie and allows the viewer to switch between the original storyboards, green screen footage and the final finished product.

Finally, "Mega Race Set-Top Game" allows the viewer to control a cyber bike from the movie and avoid obstacles on the track to win the race. This is a neat little feature but lacks true interactivity because it can be easily mastered once you memorize the sequence of moves needed to win.

What makes the Spy Kids films work so well is that they tap into what kids fantasize about: being a famous super spy, fighting big creatures and being inside a video game. Spy Kids 3-D is a fitting conclusion to the series and Rodriguez has gone all out not only with the movie but also with a fantastic two-DVD set that is jam-packed with extras.

81 Beware - the VHS is NOT in 3D!
I took my 5 yr old son to see this at the theater and he loved it. He has been counting the days until the video came out. We do not have a dvd player. He has seen the commercials which tell you that the dvd comes with 4 pairs of 3d glasses and we thought the vhs did also. Today I went first thing in the morning the day Spy Kids 3D came out, and bought the VHS. It does not contain the 3D glasses and is not in 3D. My son is going to be sorely disappointed. I don't think this is fair that the DVD has both 2D and 3D versions with the glasses, and the VHS does not.
82 Want to be in a VIRTUAL WORLD???
In the 2nd spy kids movie, I was really bummed out how Juni just suddenly quit being a secret agent. I mean I wouldn't. The 3rd spy kids was some what disappointing because of the story line. Although it's reaaly nice to just sit back and relax and watch A 3-D MOVIE IN YOUR OWN HOME!!!!. This movie would come even more at you if you have a big screen t.v. Get the DVD so if you get sick of wearing th e glasses just put on the 2-D part of the film. Over all, this movie's pretty exciting and 3-D!!!
83 best movie ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i loved it it is the best awsome toatly cool the effects were awsome and i loved it in 3-D. if you liked it but not in 3-D thats okay beacuase if you buy it on dvd you can watch it in 2-D if you buy it on vhs though you can only watch it in 2-D. Sorry!
84 best movie ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i loved it it is the best awsome toatly cool the effects were awsome and i loved it in 3-D. if you liked it but not in 3-D thats okay beacuase if you buy it on dvd you can watch it in 2-D if you buy it on vhs though you can only watch it in 2-D. Sorry!
85 This has absolutely nothing to do with Bond
Any pretense this franchise had of being Bond for kids is gone. The movie's 3D effect isn't annoying, but it's unnecessary. Juni, who has forsaken his life as a spy to become a private eye, becomes a spy again to rescue his sister, who is trapped in an online game. He is thought of as "the guy" by a group of other players, and he leads them through more and more cheesy circumstances along with Grandpa Cortez. The cheesy (but cool as shiiiitaki mushrooms) circumstances include lava surfing, a Podrace-style motorcycle race, a Battlebot-style fight, and a bunch of ticked-off robots destroying big buildings.
Juni gets a romantic interest (as if he didn't have the hots for the President's daughter in the last movie) in a tomboyish type named Demetria, who turns out to be a program in the game. All the talk about "the guy" and "programs" is reminiscent of the Matrix, with even more ridiculous, but cool, action. Lava surfing is extremely overused, but they make it look cool. A car chase in the Matrix seemed stupid, but it was cooler than black pleather and shades. In fact, this movie seems a heck of a lot like the whole Matrix trilogy. First part, introduction to character's life, sent on mission into the simulated world. Second part, full of romance and action, and people start thinking that their savior isn't really the one. Third part, betrayal, machines fight in real world. Except Spy Kids 3D: Game Over is not intentionally like The Matrix, it's like a video game. And it's one heck of a ride for those too young to say, "Holy bulls---" as Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss and Laurence Fishburne cream the machines. I wouldn't advise watching it, but your child should. Let him/her invite a friend, if only to know how the franchise ends.
86 Some-what disapointing but still watchable
Robert Rodriguez (Desperado, From Dusk to Dawn) is director full of clever ideas but I'm not sure if Spy Kids 3-D was the best idea for the 3rd move of his trilogy. I mean the other two were smart and funny spy movies for kids and the whole family. This one, although it has it's fun moments is the weakest of the three films. The movie focuses too much on Juni Cortes this time around as he trys to rescue his sister from a virtual video game world.

Antonio Banderas and others only appear at the end of the movie. Which I don't think is that smart since the kids aren't the best actors to hold most of the movie by themselves. At least in the other two films it was about the whole Cortes family working together. Sylvester Stallone gets a decent ammount of screen time though as the villain. I actually liked his scenes where he argues with other virtual versions of himself. It sorta has a Terry Gillian (Time Bandits) style to it and I liked those scenes. Some people have called the movie too dark for kids but I totall disagree. I think this one mostly kids will like, probably more than their parents. I see it as mostly overly silly, I don't see it as dark at all. The visuals make the movie fun as well and you don't need tthe 3-D glasses to enjoy them because I didn't need them. Anyway I think Robert Rodriguez could've easily pulled out a better idea out of his wild imagination for a 3rd movie. However the movie is still decent fun and kids will probably love it.

87 Not as good as the first two
Take one part Tron, one part eXistenZ and one part Toys, mix them all together with the primary-coloured palette of the true child/adult, and you might end up with something like Robert Rodriguez's eye-popping movie. Jettisoning logic and narrative sense in favour of eye-gouging visuals, the one-man-band filmmaker takes his third Spy Kids movie out of reality and into the plastic fantasy of a video game. Much has been lost in the process, including consistency of character and any semblance of humanity. The kids, Daryl Sabara and Alexa Vega, are older and not quite so attractive; the parents, Antonio Banderas and Carla Gugino, are mere ciphers. Surprising compensations include Sylvester Stallone being really rather funny in quadruple roles and the sheer anarchic mayhem of the visuals that Rodriguez flings off the screen roughly every 10 seconds.
88 One of the Worst Movies I've Ever Seen.
I was never a fan of the Spy Kids series, but decided to go see this one for the 3D. It was awful. Besides the acting and plot being terrible, the movie wasn't really 3D. Sure there were red and blue lines all over the place but when you put your glasses on, the screen just looked discolored dark. There was about one seen that actually stuck out. I reccomend that you don't even consider seeing this movie and just seeing something else.
89 This movey was greight
I saw this movey 33 times which is as far as I can count. The 3-D part was onederful and I enjoied it. Some people made fun of me because I'm 33 years old and I just cant get enuf of this movey. It's a must have for any cool 33 year old with no life.
90 This was a good movie...
Ok, well, first off... This movie was ok. I was expecting a better storyline. I was sort of confused the first time I saw it so I went back a second time. I'm not sure why but after I saw it a second time I thought it was a better movie and I went back to see it 4 more times. The only bad part of this movie was that it was in 3-D... I could have been without that because after the movie you get a REALLY bad headache. And another bad part was that Alexa Vega (Carmen) was only really part of the last few minutes of the movie, she is one of the major stars of the Spy Kids trilogy so she should have had a bigger part. But overall, this was a good movie and I recommend buying it.
91 awsome
i don't have the dvd yet, cause it has not been released yet, but i saw the 3-D movie in theatures, and it was absolutely awsome. i felt as though i was in the actual movie! can't wait until the dvd! rock on SPY KIDS 3-D: GAME OVER!
92 Is 3 really Game Over?
Well it matters... I gave a three for the movie and a five for the FX. The story isen't that good. The reaserch lab at the OSS could've shut down the game from the outside after they recued Carmen. Why didn't they just do that? I think the director wanted to toy with the novelty of his 3-D stuff. Mr. Director, make something like spy teens. Edit: I bought the DVD and it wasn't bad. The FX are good for a home vewing 3D. The special fetures are OK. I just don't like the fact that the menu was EXACTLY THE SAME on the 2D DVD only it was in 2D! The movie's 3D really saved it... and so did the special fetures...
93 An awesome movie. I'm 13 years old. i will be 14 in may 2004
This movie was awesome! i'm postive i will buy this movie when it comes out on DVD! its so cool how its in 3-D. i saw it at the movie theater with my friends. all of my friends liked it. There is action and fighting in it. the movie is about a video game and there are different levels in it where you have to do different activites like racing and fighting to beat the level. its so COOL! see it! buy it! also buy once apon a time in mexico. that movie was AWESOME TOO!
94 What the heck were they thinking?!?!?!
I liked the first Spy Kids movie since it was original. The second one wasn't that great, but this one was just TERRIBLE. I thought movies this bad only existed in our imaginations. To list all the bad things (this will take a while), there was NO spying in this movie, just messing around in some dumb video game. The plot was linear and they could have cut half of it out with little or no harm done. The whole thing about the "Riches beyond your wildest dreams" that supposedly wait at the end is just lame. The cameo by Elijah Wood is utterly pointless. They put Antonio Banderas and whoever did the mom at the beginning of the cast list even though they were only in the last few minutes of the film. They tell you that the Toymaker is responsible for their grandpa's confinement to a wheelchair, but they never tell you how or why. And that thing where there were two switches, one that shuts down the game and one that releases the Toymaker?!? That's the dumbest, most blatant deus ex machina I've ever heard. EVER. And there were lots of inaccuracies. For example, Juni was supposedly trying to beat the game before MIDNIGHT, when everyone logged on. So when they went outside at the end, why was it broad daylight?!?!? And the grandpa desperately trying to get to the Toymaker supposedly for revenge, but he just ends up saying "I forgive you"??? Please don't buy this movie. Trust me, the 3-D doesn't help anything.
95 Fun for kids.
My two kids, ages 8 and 4, loved both of the first movies, and this was no exception. My husband and I thought the first one was decent, and the second one was just OK. We found this one to be difficult to watch, and the movie being in 3-D made it a literal headache. However, what was important to me was that my kids enjoyed it and I didn't find it objectionable for kids to watch. It may not be what I would ideally pick for them to watch, but as long as the content is safe and interesting for them, I am OK with it.

I think that the DVD version that is not in 3-D will be what we all would prefer. My son wouldn't wear the 3-D glasses at the movie at all, and my daughter alternated between the discomfort of the glasses, and the discomfort of watching a 3-D movie with no glasses.

My kids would rate this a 5 and I would rate it a 3, hence the 4 star rating. Kids enjoy it, adults can tolderate it, and the content is safe. Pop some popcorn for movie night!

96 This Movie Is Really Game Over for Spy Kids!
Spy Kids 3-D Game Over is one of the worst movies ever! All of the stuff they did in the movie was the exact same as what they did in the past 2. What I didn't like is that is had the same old 3 year old humor as all of the other junk movies that are out these days, it was very un satisfying and unpleasent to sit through for however long that movie lasted for. It felt like 24 hours, it was probably only 2.
97 IT STINKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the most stupidest spykids movie in the trilogy.
You do not want to see this idiotic movie. Trust me.
DO NOT BUY THIS DVD/VHS.
98 Apalling
...The first two movies were okay (but corny and unrealistic, i mean come on). But this one is Apalling.

The only reason the first two movies were even remotely funny was because of the way the two kids always fought and yelled at eachother the whole time. But in this movie, Carmen is frozen the entire time and is only in like the last 15 minutes of the movie. Carmen was always clearly the better character too, The boy Juni or whatever always kinda annoyed... me.

The whole movie focused on the boy Juni, which is rediculous because they have all these wonderful Hollywood actors like Antonio Banderas, Holland Taylor, Carla Gugino, and Ricardo Montalban who are literally only in about 5 minutes of the movie. I am not exaggerating, they are only in the last 5 minutes of the film. And poor Alan Cumming was again giving a...little role only at the beginning of the movie.

The 3-D usage was [bad] too. Instead of using the newer better kind of 3-D )using two clear lenses on the glasses as used in like Terminator 2 3d at Universal Studios, or Honey I Shrunk the Audience 3-D at MGM Studios, They decided to use the Blue and Red Lenses on the glasses, there were only a handful of instances where anything even really looked 3-D. All the glasses really did was add a video game like blue and red color to certain parts of the movie. With the occasional 3 Dimensional image.

The whole story line was completely garbage though, I mean I can't believe Sylvester Stalone would take such a role as an "Evil Toymaker".

I don't know what they're going to do on the DVD with this, is it still going to be 3-D or will it be a regular format.

So I do not recommend this movie. But I mean, hey, everyone has different opions, i see some people here actually liked it, so if you want to check it out, be my guest, but I don't recommend it. Your kids may like it, but I don't kno.w

99 Coolest Movie This YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Spy Kids 3-D literaly wraps you in a world of 3-D graphics and makes you part of the movie. It totally ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
100 The End
Whatever your cup of tea, you have to give this Spy Kids movie some credit for at least trying 3-D. I admit, though, the old-school style of 3-D was hard on the eyes, and the show, at times, was practically unviewable. But what OF the show? The 3rd installment brings new life into the series, but it's obvious Spy Kids has seen its last. A lot of charm was lost. However--- the highlight of the movie is when Juni goes into a video game to save his sister. I thought that whole adventure was well done, and is quite entertaining when you think about what's going on. But like some games I've played, the ending to Spy Kids 3-D probably wasn't worth the entire effort. Nice try.
