1 This is simply a gem
This is a good quality book, something you could open and open again.
Highly recommended!
2 Traveling To Thailand?
I found Eyewitness Travel Guide for Thailand very informative, and easy to read. It had tons of pictures, facts, FYIs, and did I mention pictures? Like Eyewitness I agree that a picture is worth a thousand words. I also bought Lonely Planet's Travel Guide for Thailand, but liked Eyewitness' much better. Lonely Planet's Travel Guide had a more standard layout for the abundant amount of facts, but was limited on the pictures. The phrase at the bottom of Eyewitness' book holds true, "The Guides That Show You What Others Only Tell You."
3 Out Of Date
This is a great book with beautiful pictures, maps and nice glossy color pages. The only problem being that it is out of date! Having said that, I would not recommend it for your guide book if travelling to Thailand. Wait for an updated issue.
I am well travelled in Thailand and some of the descriptions in the book make me feel like I was travelling in Thailand 20 years ago! Hope this helps...
4 Limited excellence
There are detailed graphics, maps, and explanations of cultural issues not found in other guide books. However, they exclude major attractions and maps and attractions can be severely inaccurate. It's good for preparing a trip, but it's too heavy and not helpful enough to bring with you.

6 best book on Thailand
This is by far the best travel book on Thailand I've found so far. It had everything I needed to plan my trip, and the pictures were beautiful.
7 Accurate, even from a Thai point of view
As a Thai, I found this book surprisingly accurate to a certain degree. Even to some notorious aspects about Thailand, it provides some truthful information rather than worse-than-reality stuff for those potically correct issues. The graphics is amazing and precise in terms of Thai architecture (I'm an architect). Another compliment goes to some inside info e.g. shopping districts and local customs. I even decided to buy a copy myself even though it's my own country as a good intro to Thailand whenever my Ameican friends ask me to describe it which they usually do.

I recommend this book for people who search for cultural aspect rather than hotels and restaurants. I'm using some books from this very series to travel in Europ too.

8 A Must Have
Truly a wonderful travel guide. This is a must have for your adventures in Amazing Thailand. This book gives you all the information you need, when you pack for your vacation this will be the only travel reference you will need to take with you. A valuable tool in exploring Bangkok and the surronding regions. The maps inside helped us get back to our hotel on more than one occasion, a definate life saver and an essential necessity.
9 A Visual Encyclopedia of Thailand
We liked this book a lot. It is not so much a tour guide as an illustrated encyclopedia of what you see in Thailand, with clear, labelled drawings of things such as the interior of a Wat. A great book if you want to understand what you're looking at.
10 great pictures, little information
I bought this book because of its visual impact. The pictures are great, but... I was looking for information on hotels, advise on what to avoid and where to go, hints and discovered very little in that regard. This is not a travel book, but a souvenir.
11 Best travel book I have ever read!
If you are looking for a Thailand travel book, this is it. The many beautiful pictures and the well written articles on every aspect of Thai culture are invaluable for the traveller or the person who simply dreams of exotic locales. Definitely a must purchase!
12 Elegant and informative - just a terrific book
This is a beautiful, elegant and informative book put together in a distinctive, attractive style. You will want to keep this book after you return from your trip to Thailand so that you may continue to enjoy its illustrations and photos. Recommended for any traveler - however independent travelers should bring another guide book along as well.
13 Nice ornament for a coffee table but fails as a travel guide
This beautifully published glossy guidebook contains an abundance of visually striking, highly professional photography. A few oblique angle illustrations of some temple sites would be a welcome addition to any guide. However, as a source of useful information, it is a disappointment. It is short on hard facts and will undoubtedly be left at home when the trip begins. For an easy-to-use format with more meat I preferred Fodors. At the other extreme, with everything you could possible want to know, is Footprint. The latter, however, is not so user friendly.
