Joel L. Widzer
1 Groundbreaking
Although many books proclaim to be unique and groundbreaking, this one really is. All previous attempts to understand travel and upgrading psychology and its importance simply pale beside this work.
2 Great Tips
I used the authors bargaining techniques at The Pierre (New York) last week, and beat the Internet price, and got an upgrade and free breakfast. Thanks for the tips!!!
3 On the Money
I saw the Author on Seattle's Northwest Today and like the advice, so I purchased the book. The first two tips I used, calling a hotel direst and checking for airline upgrades-both worked. I also saved over $1700 for a trip to the French Polynesia, and got upgraded.
It's nice to read something from an author who has been there done it and knows how to express it to readers.
It's a good book.
4 The real stuff
The author has lived luxury travel while paying less. From the first page the experience and wisdom of the author is apparent. I was equally impressed how the tips are not intended to take advantage of anyone or any company. Unlike a few other books I read this book delivers on its promise of offering good quality travel for less money.
5 Luxury travel for the average and seasoned traveler!
Trip rewards have never been so exciting! If you're going to travel as a seasoned veteran or the occasional vacationer, this book guides you through a process for building a relationship with the travel industry. As the title states, "the art of 'cultivating'" your way into "preferred customer status" with an airline or hotel does take a little time, but, if you're going anyway why not use the tried and true steps Joel Widzer has develped? He's done all the hard work to reach his current first-class staus where ever he travels and now we all can jump on board his enthisiastic coat-tails ! I actually made a second purchase to underline and mark-up so I didn't have to ruin my signed copy !!
6 A very useful and insightful guide
This book tells you how to travel in luxury in a realistic manner. Unlike a few other travel tip books this guide presents real life strategies that the author has used over and over again. I like all of the anecdotes and clear examples.
7 an ok book
I found the book ok; not brilliant, not terrible. I notice a curious consistency in the other reviews. All five stars, yet strangely generic for people who supposedly liked the book so much. All about the same length, and written in what appears to be the same voice. My guess is they're all written by the same person. So consider this a review of another of the author's works too...
8 Worth a Look
This is a book for the traveler who has ever had an uncomfortable travel experience. The author offers insider secrets for traveling that I have not found anywhere else.
