1 A Great Bargain for Pet Travel
I travel with my dogs for a living (I work in pet supplies) and I've been using this series of books since the late 1980s. You need to buy the current edition, because things do change, but, for $15 or less, you can always have it in your luggage ready to go. I love it.
2 Often incorrect
Because this guide only comes out occasionally, the hotels often change their information. Even the year the book was published, much of the information was only partially true. One restaunt example we sampled thought that dog-friendly meant tying your dog to a pole in a parking lot on an August afternoon. Another was that the pet-friendly meant anything under 15 pounds, or maybe that you get to stay in the part of the hotel where the gangsters deal drugs (it has happened in the south, no kidding). The information is nicely organized, but is not thoroughly researched, in other words the author likely did not travel to most of the destinations, perhaps using the suspect hearsay method of information gathering. I say this because, in our travels, we have blundered upon far richer dog parks, hotels, and resorts than what were mentioned. If we could blunder upon such things with our giant dogs, imagine what gems a dedicated researcher might uncover!! I think it is worth it to get one of the big guides with more dense info to plow through. You and your pet will end up less frustrated in the end.
3 Traveling With Your Pets Over the Holidays
Last year I travelled all over the country over my Christmas break from school. I took my pet Terrier with me and was easily able to find places to stay using this handy, inexpensive guidebook.
4 Great Pet Travel Resource
Very useful resource guide, we used it every day while taking a summer vacation across the western USA. Combined with our cell phone we never had to worry about where we would be spending the night with our golden. We really liked all the info on where we could go get a cup of joe or bite to eat with the dog.

Thanks for the great book.

Prototype designs always work.

We're mortal -- which is to say, we're ignorant, stupid, and sinful --
but those are only handicaps. Our pride is that nevertheless, now and
then, we do our best. A few times we succeed. What more dare we ask for?
