The Simpson's Road Rage

Compras Nikon
Bluetooth
Electronic Arts (14386) Simpsons Road XBX
There's road rage, and then there's road rage Simpsons style! "D'oh!" Monty Burns is up to his greedy ways again. He's purchased Springfield's transit corporation and heinously jacked up the fares. Refusing to shell out for the new rates, the rage ensues. You'll take on commuters and jam-packed back routes, all in an effort to help buy back the corporation before time runs out.

More than 25 Simpsons characters climb behind the wheel or wander the streets begging for a ride. Careen through timesaving shortcuts and take on terrain including hills, mountains, and forests. Wreak havoc in five Springfield neighborhoods that include landmarks such as Moe's Bar and the nuclear power plant. Busy traffic and wayward pedestrians confound your rage. However, two-wheel leans, speed starts, power slides, and other cool car physics help you release that rage.

Multiple game modes let you go head-to-head in two-player split-screen action that challenges your opponent in a race for the next passenger, or you can steal his or her passenger midride! Complete up to 60 unique passenger deliveries in story mode, or take a leisurely Sunday drive through the fair Springfield. A bonus system lets you unlock cars and specific characters, while intuitive menus make this game easy to play. As Homer would say, "If it's hard to do, it's not worth doing!"

1 It's good for little kids.
Now you see a T rating on this box you expect at least a little more violence or something. I think the only reason it's rated teen is because Homer says ass once. I don't hear no other profanity and the violence is weak. Now about the game. It's a fast-paced kid version of Crazy Taxi. I had no clue what i was in for when i bought this game all i was thinking was I love the Simpsons. But don't get me wrong it is a fun game. I don't like Bart's car. Other than that nice cars and awesome neighborhoods. Except the plower plant because it's really boring and there's a giant wall that just gets in your way. The missions are ok and you can skip them after 5 losses which basically means all you have to do is win the 10th mission and you unlock Homer's special car. Not too bad of a game I just wish it had more options because basically when you beat the missions, you're not gonna wanna play them again and all that's left is the Road Rage. Worth renting, not buying. Or maybe snatching it from a friend.
2 Love it or hate it
Some love it, others hate it. Here is the low-down. This is "Crazy Taxi" in Simpson-Land. There are plenty of sight and sound gags that should satisfy Simpsons fans, but they will become repetetive and annoying if you play long enough. The "worlds" are terrific, but are not "perfect" - this game is about cartoon-driving mayhem, it is not intended to be realistic. The bottom line is that the game is a blast to play.

Crazy Taxi has larger, more detailed "worlds", but without the comedy and humor of Road Rage. Road Rage, however, has more and better cars to play. My only criticism is that some of the language and inuendo could easily have been left out without detracting from the fun at all.

P.S. Sometime, be sure to drive around and read all the signs, billboards, and the names of the businesses. Also, look for backyard shortcuts and hidden tunnels.
3 They Can Do Better Than This
I was so excited once I got The Simpsons: Road Rage. But once I started playing it, I was very dissapointed. The 3-D effects aren't very impressive, and this game is very repetitive. But if you're a true Simpsons fan, you will find the humor of The Simpsons in this game. The voices in this game match up to the voices on the show as well. But, like I said, this game is very repetitive and you will probably hear the same catchphrases over and over throughout the game.

This game is not very challenging either, and will probably take you no more than a month to finish. And when you do finish the game, let me tell you now, the ending is not that exciting.

A plus side to this game is that an exclusive character & vehicle comes along every holiday, which goes with the holiday. That feature is kind of cool. But, you could easily see all the characters by re-setting the calendar on your game console, and if you don't do this, you will only see the holiday character once a year.

This is an average game that is appropriate for the whole family, but it is not a must-buy. If I were you, I wouldn't rush out and buy this video game.

4 Very fun game
This game is cool. The levels are insane in design, cars are well-themed. Yes it's true. This game rocks. people who don't like this game have problems. The levels are filled with many landmarks. I feel like i'm in Springfield, (Which I am.)
The graphics are OK. Pretty cartoon. I say this game is repetive though. But it's fun to play like your driving. A great game.
5 It's a chore to play
This game stinks. The graphics of the people are okay, but the rest of the world stinks. The point is to hear people say stupid things pointlessly. Then you drive them to places and they pay hundreds of dollars. The cars don't even flip over. It's extremely repetitive. Hey haven't driven you somewhere 10 times already? That's what you'll be asking yourself. You have to do the same thing over and over again and get money. Then once you have the money you pointlessly buy people or areas. The worlds are terrible, but just like the T.V. show. Don't waste your money and get excited when you buy it, just don't even bother. Don't just try my review though, look at all the others on this site.
6 It takes time
I got this game at Target. It is awesome! It takes so long to get all of the characters, though. You have to work and get the money for them! So far I only have two locations and about 14 out of 17 characters. There is a mystery character and on New Years day it was Krusty the Clown in his clown car and the car had like a champaign bottle on it, it was neat, but the next day he was gone! :( Oh well, I can't wait until another holiday, maybe there will be a new character! I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes the Simpsons. It is absolutly awesome!
7 The Simpsons Road Rage
This amazing game from The Simpsons is incredibly funny with some classic character voices. Hundreds of different people to play as or pick up. It is based on the fact that Mr Burns has stolen all the buses to make them radioactive. Simpson characters must then change their cars into taxis and make enough cash to buy the buses back. Unlockable characters, unlockable areas and so much more. A must buy for any Simpson fan. 9/10.
8 Simpsons' Road Rage
Simpsons' Road Rage is a typical taxi car game. You first pick a player like Bart Simpson, Marge, Homer, Lisa, and etc. Then you pick up other people and drive them to their destination. That part's fun, then it gets worse. One flaw for this pretty good game is that the mission mode is unbelievabaly easy. I just picked up the controller and started mission mode and completed more than four levels! Another flaw for the Simpson's Road Rage is that the characters in this game look totally unreal and the heads look like bobbleheads. It just makes me want to punch the TV screen. Also, the mouths don't even match with the voices! Language in worse in the game than in the TV show, so don't get as a birthday present to a 5 year-old. Next time you meet them, they might just start saying "just shut up and drive." DO NOT GET IT FOR YOUNG CHILDREN! Still, this game is a little above average. Maybe you should rent the game before buying it.
9 Highly Underrated
I can't believe this game gets so much heat for ripping off Crazy Taxi. SO WHAT!!! Crazy Taxi was a great game and The Simpsons : Road Rage is even better! Any Simpsons fan will definetly LOVE the tie ins with the show. You can go all around Springfield, driving various Simpsons characters that say hilarious things ("The leprechan told me to burn things" - Ralph, "Get out of the way Jerk" - Homer). You can choose from over a dozen characters, including the Simpson family, Apu, Ned and many more. The story mode is also challenging, having the player complete different tasks, not just taxi driving. The multiplayer mode I play all the time with my friends. You have to compete with other players in order to get customers and make money. Don't listen to the critics. Simpsons fan or not, you will love this game. Plus, its a bargin at the greatest hits price of only $20. Go buy it.
10 The simpsons Road Rage
This game is the best game that i have ever played in my whole entire life. The best part of this game is sunday drive when you just get to cruise around springfield. it has the best graphics i have ever seen and it has real simpsons voices. There is five places that you can drive and those are springfield entertainment district, springfield moutains, the springfield nuclear power plant. sarry, i can't remeber the other places that you can drive. this game is deffenatly worth getting.
11 Great Simpsons game the whole family can enjoy
Road Rage is a fun game. It's really easy to pick up, and everything is so true to the show. You can unlock new cars and locations to play with, too. The 2-player mode rocks too, aside from the split-screen thingy. The language can get a bit foul, but naturally no more so than on the TV show. Overall, a great game you can have many hours of fun with.
12 the simple yet funny game
This game is a funny racing typ game. It has ok graghics and has a fun plot it isn't just racing. It is a game were you bring people to there disiered place. In short you act like a taxi cab driver. You have a choice of all the main charicters in the moivies. Each have there own car. This is a very fun two player game and I suggest it to every one. It isn't what I call thrilling but it is very fun and is an eaisy game.
13 Best Simpsons game ever
The Simpsons Road Rage is one of the most fun games I've played.Carting people through Springfield is fun,but the thing I found most entertaining was just going in Sunday Drive mode and just looking at everything and remembering the episode it came from.(I am a huge Simpsons fan)If you are a Simpsons fan as well, you should definitely buy this, and even if you arent you show because its just a sweet game thats fun to play.
14 Crazy Taxi with an edge
On one hand, this is a graphically inferior version of Crazy Taxi. Graphics aside, the game's fluidity and atmosphere are hurt by the fact it takes ages and ages to load each and every scenario, even if it is exactly the same scenario that you've just finished playing.
This game does have its advantages over Crazy Taxi, though. For a start, it's more fun: You're actually encouraged to bump and destroy stuff. Then there are the loads of Simpsons characters and Simpsons related scenarios, and although they will ultimately wear out, they are fun.

But the one thing that truly gives this game a significant edge over Crazy Taxi is its two player mode: Two rivalling taxi drivers fight it out to win customers, steal customers from one another (there is only one active customer at a time, and two hungry taxi drivers), and ruin as many things on their way as they can to hinder the opponent.
The end result is fun, fun, and then more fun.

15 Doh!
This game rocks if you are a Simpsons fan. If not, don't buy it. You can unlock a ton of cars and the voices help the gameplay since they are the real actors. Graphics don't do the Xbox justice, but hey, it's all about having fun. Which this game supplies plenty of.
16 BETTER THAN CRAZY TAXI!!!
This weekend I have rented both Crazy Taxi 3 (which includes both 1&2 plus a new map) and Simpsons Road Rage. While Crazy Taxi does have better graphics, MUCH shorter load times, and more driving techniques such as the crazy hop and slide, SRR has it where it counts. It is easily more fun.

First off, you'll laugh till you cry with the excellent dialogue. You can play the map again with a different character and expect to pick up different people than with different conversations. And there is a ALOT of characters to play as. This leading to extended replay value. However, I personally reccomend unlocking the levels first, which are filled with little things that any Simpson fan will instantly recognize and laugh at. However, I will not tell you any of these things cause it may ruin the fun...

This game is also MUCH more destructive than Crazy Taxi ever was. It just seems more fun to smash things up in this game than Crazy Taxi. You can also runover pedestrians. Which is really funny to watch and there is no blood. Since I'm on the topic, parents maybe interested to know what type of content is in the game. It was rated 'T' for people 13+. While mostly harmless, there is a bit of foul language in the game. However, it isn't any worse than the show. You do drive by a strip joint in the entertainment district level however. But if you live anywhere in the USA, you know you don't have to go far to see any type of adult entertainment. I think that this game is more than appropriate for a 13 year old, but maybe not enough for an 'E' rating (ages 6+). Overall it should be okay for a 9-11 year old to play.

Even when the jokes begin to become stale, this game is great to put in with friends. Watching your friend's laugh till they drop will at least put a smile on your face. Thankfully, EA realized this and put in a 2 player mode, which is not available in Crazy Taxi. Unfortunately, since I only have one controller I am unable to test it out. Another thing I really like is the fact that there is a map at the bottom of the screen which helps you map out the area and tell you where to go. This was a feature was needed in CT, but unfortunately Sega never really delevered. However, sometimes this map becomes your only way of determining where to go since there are a few times where the arrow is a little buggy. But these moments are rare and far between however.

I could really go on forever about how good this game is and how well it is, but there is a limit of words. Dispite what other critics say, this game is definately worth getting, especially now of its recently reduced price. If you are still a little weary, rent it first. And if you have some extra $$$, rent Crazy Taxi 3 to do a comparison of how well this game is compared to it. Sure it maybe a ripoff of CT, but it manages to improve off of it. Which really can't be a bad thing. This game is easilly the best Simpsons game since the arcade game!!!

17 repetative but great
by the title you can tell what the point of the game is and that you will do the same thing over and over, kinda like crazy taxi, and people found that fun, so why are people complainning now, I will tell you, they have nothing better to do that sit around all day playign video games and talking bad about the fun simple games. this is a great game. it may take a while to load but who cares.
18 Poor, but still some fun to be found
This takes a while so be patient.

Pros: 1. First Simpsons title since 1998

2. Much Better than Simpsons Wrestling

3. Real voices by simpsons actors.

4. Many a shortcut on this game.

5. a fun 2 player game

6. some good jokes...

Cons: 1. ...that get repetitive faster than the color commentator on NHL 2003!

2. graphics look like Robotech:Battlecry meets Superman (boo hoo hoo!)

3. difficulty settings are just too easy (its actually easier to get $$$ on hard)

4. voiceovers get repetitive in one run!

5. little plot at all, just the problem and the solution, no plot twists or the sort. too predictable

6. Mission mode: WAY too easy!

7. voiceovers lag badly.

8. all about the objective in the end (not good for a comedy king like the simpsons)

9. End Sequence not that good.

10. In game lips do not even move at all!

11. Cut scene graphics are much better than in In Game (did i mention that the cut scenes with Montgomery Burns get repetitive too)

12. Loading times are RIDICULOUSLY SLOW! oh man such a poor game graphically and it takes so long to load. (Ouch!)

Final Verdict: RENT FIRST![.] It would have been an ACCEPTABLE game for the N64, but they dont even tamper with the Xbox's potential. A lamentable day for all simpsons fans

19 The best game for kids
My 5 year old LOVES this game! It's also quite fun for any adults also. Highly recommended.
20 Beer and Pretzels game
When you've drained your plasma rifle in HALO, tired of being UNREAL, or just looking for some mindless fun - this game is a good one to go comatose for a few minutes.

Easy to learn and play - this game is a must for any Simpsons fan. The game has some hidden features as well. I enjoyed the special Thanksgiving car - available only on Thanksgiving day.

Don't overthink - just have fun!

21 Apu...I love you and this game!
This game is worth every penny just for the characters! An Xbox must have. Kids LOVE this game. And so do I for that matter.
22 Simpsons meet Crazy Taxi
I love the Simpsons. I love Crazy Taxi. I LOVE the Simpsons Road Rage! It's better than Crazy Taxi because the characters are ones we're familiar with-- all from Springfield. Oh and you can unlock different levels (parts of Springfield) and different cars (including Otto's school bus, Lovejoy's book burning van, and the special car made for Homer!) There's also a mission mode where you can just play for level goals. The dialogue is what really makes it better than Crazy Taxi-- because it's funny! It takes no real skill so it's perfect for the simple gamer like myself.
23 I don't see what all the complaining is about.
I recently purchased Road Rage for Xbox after playing the Gamecube version with a friend. Yes, the game lacks depth. Yes, the dialog can get kind of annoying. Yes, the cars do not handle according to any of the laws of physics. And yes, the game is almost exactly like the great Crazy Taxi (the original, of course). My response to all the criticism, so what! The creators took something good (the Crazy Taxi concept) and wrapped it in something wonderful (the Simpsons license), like a chocolate-covered peanut, or a monkey in a cowboy suit! What the player is left with is a very simple, pick-up-and-play game that is especially excellent when company arrives. It has the same basic appeal as Smash Brothers. For the more open-minded, less gear-headed gamer, Simpsons Road Rage is a fine choice.
24 So bad its amusing
This game is amusing, stupid, and wierd. It is a copy of crazy taxi with a lot of stupid extras (that make the game even worste.) Do yourself a favor, and do not buy this game.
25 junk
this game stinks the gamecube one is so much better
26 This is the best game ever!
Any Simpsons fan would love this game. It's like Crazy Taxi with a Simpsons twist. On holidays you get special characters like Halloween Bart and Thanksgiving Marge. I Can't wait for Christmas. You also dont have to get really good at the game to unlock things. (if you aren't that great it will take a while to unlock something) This game also has the real voices from the show and the people say funny lines like "Lisa Simpson will you marry me?" and " Do you have my pills?" There are so many places and people to unlock. It's a really awesome game. The lines after a while get really repetative and sometimes you hit an invisible wall. All in all it's a good game an worth it to buy
27 Don't Buy It
This game is a waste of money. It is ok for 2-player mode if you're waiting for the glue to dry on an RC plane, but other than that, it is a bad game.
28 The best game ever
This is the best game you can buy. I looked and looked for this game but it is worth it. When you first start out it seems easy but wait till you get farther. If you olny have one game for xbox this is the one.
29 Simpsons
If you are a fan of Simpsons, you will probably love this game. It gets you addicted and you want to find out what will happen in the end.
30 Good program, Bad game
Same old, same old. If you played Crazy Taxi, then you played Simpsons Road Rage. The olny good thing about it is the voices.
31 Simpsons Super Fun
This game is fun. Will you learn anything or be moved to tears by the storyline? No. It's fun.

It's fun to hear what each character says in response to each event that happens.

Just like playing "Crazy Taxi".

Rent it. If you like it, buy it. You can replay it over and over again.

32 Disappointing
I have been a simpsons fanatic for the past 5 years and am humiliated by this ...video game. for 1 thing the Simpsons is a great show so it shouldnt have a scummy video game like this one. they must have been on a low budget making the game. Here are 5 good reasons why this game shouldnt have been invented 1. The graphics are bland, their entrances to the car are absurd. (Hans Moleman doing a flip into a car?!) 2. The mission mode is unbelieveably sinchy. 3. They dont even have all of the characters. (No Patty + Selma, no Julius Hibbert, No Lenny + Carl to name a few) 4. The lines get dull + repetitive in 10 minutes and most of the lines are from old simpsons episodes. 5. This is just [an]... imitation of some game i forget the name of........ oh yeah, CRAZY TAXI!!!!!! I rest my case.
33 Great Simpsons Fun!!
This game is great for two players, me and my girlfrined play this game for hours. Really Really good.
34 THE BEST GAME EVER!
this game is good the only thing i dont like about it is that after you beat it there is no point in playing it anymore except its fun for the multi player games other then that it is not fun WORST GAME EVERE!
35 Good but not perfect
simpson's rr is a awsome game at first. all the real
voices, colorful, staying with the story plot. but it
is a little 2 easy.... the car physics are good. my
favorite part is when you stop, the hand at the top
turns, and you make a wicked spin. there are verry
funny lines, like "lisa simpson, will you marry me?
all in all a good game
36 This gets my lowest score ever, 7 thumbs up
If you get my headline you'll get this game. If not you haven't a chance.
This is a simpsons game first a foremost. Like most other simpsons games, and Star Wars games for the fact, only hardcore fans of the subject will love it. Some people call the voices annoying but i can't hear enough of Homer yelling USA!
It gets 3 stars for the following reasons-
- The First star goes the fact it's something Simpsons, and everything that has something to do with the simpsons deserves one star.
- My second star goes to Homer driving the car that homer made, it's hidden at first but it's the coolest thing since birth of the cool by miles davis.
- My third star goes to the shear length at which it tkaes to unlock everything. Whereas in some games you have to actually get good to unlock everything, this game is designed to allow anyone (including Ralph) eventually unlock everything...
37 Fun, but gets old fast
This game is pretty good but it has it's ups and downs. First of all, the characters are very funny, it has many features from crazy taxi, you can unlock many new characters and levels,The surrounding enviorment such as cars, mailboxes, trees, poles, and some doors to certain buildings can be trashed, but it starts to become pointless. You just keep playing a level until you get enough money for a hidden character or level. The sayings stay funny for a while but soon become the same old [junk]. Still this game should be bought due to it's still worthy of the XBOX.
38 Best (Simpsons) game ever
I was dismally disappointed by Simpsons Wrestling, so I wasn't entirely optimistic about this one. I bought it anyway, though, because I'm a huge fan of the Simpsons. I'm so glad I did. Yes, it's a blatant Crazy Taxi clone, but I liked Crazy Taxi. A difference, though, is the mission mode in Road Rage. Searching for mascots to chase down or newspaper stands to crush is a nice change of pace.
The animation is pretty cool, too, and I like that the real voice talent from the show was used. The catchphrases are funny ("I'm afraid of the future!" - Grandpa Simpson) and they are often specific to the current fare.
The game isn't too hard, either. You earn new characters as you advance through the game, but it's cumulative - even if you don't do fantastic in every round, keep playing long enough and you'll open everybody.
Also neat are the hidden characters (set your Xbox calendar to holidays such as Halloween and Christmas).
This game is best for Simpsons fans, but who doesn't like the Simpsons?
39 Not good, but not bad
It's a fun game if you like the Simpsons (who doesn't), but it's not a game to intrigue you for long period of times. It's fun to go and bust stuff up, play around, but it's easy, and frustrating at times. There are some flaws with the game, but you get used to them after a while. Long loading time, even between "runs" creates spells of boredom. There are much better games you could spend money on, but avid Simpson fans will enjoy this one. It is comparable to Crazi Taxi, but seems to play better and easier. The Simson twist is a grand idea, and I hope EA will release a better version in the future.
40 Game Flaws!! Wasn't this QA'ed? Loads too much and too long
There are GAME FLAWS in this game. Every so often (in certain places it seems like) you will hit an invisible wall where your car will stop on a dime. The screen will also flicker (really annoying) behind a wall making it impossible to see your car.

The game must load EVERYTIME you start a road rage board, mission, or sunday drive. The missions are only 50 or so seconds long (no extra time) and the loading time is nearly the same length! If you restart a level it has to load again. It should "remember" the board and be able to start over again in seconds like the Xbox does in games like Halo and Amped.

The game itself is short, and can be beaten pretty easily. You could probably rent it from Blockbuster, end up spending 15 - 20 dollars on late fees and be done with it.

If you have a friend with an Xbox, split the cost with him and buy this game. Besides for the above problems, IT IS A REALLY FUN GAME. I love the Simpsons. This game is a MUST PLAY, and whether or not it's a MUST BUY is up to you.

41 Super fun Simpson's madness
This game is a real hoot. It's your basic "taxi-pickup" game with a Simpson's twist. Montgomery Burns has taken over the City of Springfield's mass transit system and is slowly sucking the people and the resources dry. The citizens have decided to take matters into their own hands, creating a taxi system where they raise money to buy back the buses from good old Monty Burns.

There are lots of fun features in this game, you raise money to meet your goals and when you reach the goal you can pick whether you want to win a special character (Reverand Lovejoy's Book Burning Mobile is my personal favorite so far) or a bonus track (there are six). On holidays you automatically get to play with a special character. Christmas Day we played with Christmas Apu. The next day... he was gone. : )

All-in-all a fun game for all ages with lots of action to entertain for hours.

42 Simpsons Road Rage Rocks
I just bought this game and have been having so much fun with it. The voices from the real Simpson's cartoon make it that much better. The things they say are so funny and its really cool to drive around all crazy like Homer and wreck stuff. There is even a cool feature to make your passengers car sick! It's COOL MAN!
43 dont look at the other reviews
this is way better than crazy taxi and is great to play head to head with a friend. a must for any real gamer!
44 This Game Rocks
This game rocks! Simpsons Road Rage is a lot better than Crazy Taxi. If you have XBox than you should get this game. Simpsons Road Rage is the best game on the planet. This game Rules!!!!!
45 I beat the game in three weeks.
I love this game "I'm bart simpson who the HELL hell hell hell hell hell hell hell hell hell are you"
46 "Simpsons" fans should get this one
No, it's not entirely original, but if you're a fan of the long-running television series, you'll definitely enjoy"The Simpsons:Road Rage". The game is not too difficult for anyone and is often very amusing, with real voices from the show. Most of the major players are there, including Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa, as well as Krusty The Clown, Ned Flanders, Professor Frink, Apu, and Grampa Simpson(who supplies the funniest dialogue in the game). The object is simple:You are to transport various characters to their desired destination before the clock runs out.As you accumulate cash, you can either unlock other characters, or different locations around Springfield. In the "Mission Mode" segment,a special car awaits Homer if he completes Mission 10(it's pretty odd looking, but fast). There's more to this game I have yet to see, but being a fan of the show from the beginning, I'm taking my time and enjoying the ride around Springfield. A fun game overall, a blast for Simpson-heads.
47 Fantastic Racing Game
This was one of the first Xbox games I got and after 3 weeks, my friends and I still are having a blast! If you love the Simpsons, this is a great game for you...but even if you are not a die-hard Simpsons fan, the game itself is challenging and fun enough in itself to give you hours of play. One super cool thing we noticed on Christmas was that there was a Christmas Apu character, but the next day he was gone...then on New Year's there was a New Year's Krusty! Can't wait until Valentine's:) In a nutshell, this game is like Paperboy for the year 2002!
48 Doh!
I initially held off getting Simpson's Road Rage after some mediocre reviews. Well, after this self-imposed waiting period, I finally broke down and bought it. Man am I sorry I did! The graphics don't take advantage of the Xbox's capabilities. The controls are buggy. Most annoyingly, as much as I like the Simpsons, the phrases are too repetative and the gameplay is just plain boring! Save your money. Rent it if you have to, but do not buy it. Shame on you Electronic Arts for spoiling Springfield! Jebediah Springield would turn over in his grave if he saw this.
49 Easily Addicted, This is the game 4 U
If you can become easily addicted to games, this is the game for you. With all the different levels and characters to unlock, you just want to unlock all of them straight away. Seeing as you need $1 Million and the average mission you get about $6,000, you want to get to the 'checkpoints' to unlock a level or a car all the time. With most of the Simpson's characters in the game, this one will keep you easily amused for a long time!!!
50 Could be better, could be much worse
I was looking for something that my 6 year old and myself could enjoy and this game fits the bill. Unfortunately, we've had to threaten him with no more game play if he repeats the "I'm Bart Simpson, who the ... are you?" phrase again.

Pluses:
1) Challenging roadways encourage you to better your time. I've unlocked almost all of the starting points, but find myself staying on the first one or two to get better.
2) Shortcuts are plentiful and humorous (driving through the school to get to Willie's shack)
3) Faithfulness to the "real" Springfield makes gameplay easier (e.g., knowing that the Flanders live next to the Simpsons makes it easier to find)

Minuses:
1) Very buggy. I've gotten stuck in what my son calls a "tornado" a couple of times, where my car is floating in the air, spinning, until the timer runs out. Your car often runs into obstacles that don't actually seem to be there. Also, your vieport is often accidentally rendered inside of an object or between an object and your vehicle making it impossible to see. There's also a huge audio bug that manifests itself in your current passenger talking in your previous passenger's voice if you're really quick on picking people up.
2) Loading is PAINFULLY slow. It feels like it takes longer to get between games than to actually play one.
3) 3D Simpsons just don't look right. The game would have been much more interesting had they made it two dimensional ala the cartoon.

In summary, my 6 year old loves it, I'm lukewarm about it. If it's just for you, rent it. If it's for the family, buy it.

51 Simpson's Road Rage

52 An Amusing Diversion
The Simpsons: Road Rage is a fun game that grows old much too fast. The premise is identicle to that of Crazy Taxi, but somehow manages to not be nearly as much fun. Long load times, repetative and inappropriate voiceovers, and small maps all conspire to drag what could have been a truly great game back down to average. That having been said, the game manages to please if played infrequently and in small bursts. This is a game you will pull out of the closet once or twice a month and be able to enjoy for a few short spins around Springfield, if only for the kitsch.
As a competative game, it leaves a lot to be desired. Advancement is granted by reaching cumulative totals instead of individual runs with your taxi of choice. As a consequence, there is no real challange to uncovering new maps or cars. If your skill with the game fails to develop, and you find yourself still unable to last longer than a couple of minutes per run, no problem. Just make more runs. It's the accumulation of money that matters, not the establishment of particular goals on any one run. Individual records are kept almost as an afterthought.
I would recommend this game as a rental, or as something to show to your friends if they're Simpsons fans. For a game with substance and replay value, look elsewhere.
53 It's great!
i'll admit, the missions are a bit redundant and at times very difficult, but i love the taxi driving part. it isn't a game with many options, but simpson fans will love to be thier favorite characters!
54 Great Racing Game
Simpsons Road Rage is a great racing game. It has a lot of funny comentary from your favorite characters and has controls that are very easy to learn. It has 3 main mode with an additional multi mode. Road Rage mode is like crazy taxi. You need to pick up passengers and drop them at their requested locations. Mission Mode is when you have to complete certain missions for characters before time runs out. Sunday mode is when you can drive around at your own pace and explore the town. This is game should be rated 4.5 stars. It is a fun game for people who have a sense of humor and like the Simpsons.
55 Simpsons License wears off too soon
I rented this one and I'm glad I did. You might enjoy a rental, as well. If you absolutely love The Simpsons (like me) and think there's no way you wouldn't enjoy anything Simpsons related (come on, you've got the first season on DVD, don't you?), you will still be disappointed. If you aren't convinced, I still say rent it, just so you are sure.

It is not as horrible as Simpsons Wrestling. This game is at least playable. Still, it never feels like you are driving a car, however, or any of the other vehicles you supposedly drive. It's more like you are just pivoting an arrow on its axis and pushing a button to move forward and backward. No I'm not expecting a sim experience like Project Gotham, but at least a driving experience, like Crazy Taxi.

After you unlock a few levels, you'll get bored. It becomes even more repetitive than Crazy Taxi ever did. The most ardent Simpsons fanatic might insist on unlocking the relatively large cast of characters, and who doesn't want to drive Homer as Mr. Plow?

But the fun wears off. In a short time, you'll have heard all the banter of every character and gotten over the fun of driving around a very sparsely detailed Springfield. Not that all the Springfield landmakrs aren't there, they just look terrible. Once you've played Halo, you expect a little more than buildings that are nearly flat shaded boxes. I hear this looks better on Xbox than PS2, but that's not saying much.

I think the development team also made a major mistake trying to make the Simpsons a 3D world. It looks funny. Your Simpsons heroes don't look right. If you have the First Season DVD you've heard (in the commentary) that the show producers realized early that the 2D side perspective of faces were so much more expressive than the other views they tried in that first season. A similar view holds for this game. The Simpsons Road Rage would have looked beautiful if done in the style of Cel Damage. Cel Damage's engine does 3D but it looks flat, like you are watching a cartoon. It is absolutely stunning in that perspective (gameplay problems in that title aside). The Simpsons Road Rage would have benefitted greatly just by using a similar engine and graphical feel.

When you finish a level you'll be irritated that they couldn't have the real Krusty voice give you your rating. Instead, you get a horrible imitation. You'll also wonder why you have to view a loading screen (on the Xbox no less!) to go from the game to your summary screen. Crazy Taxi on the Dreamcast didn't even do this!

You'll also realize that the key to unlocking items has nothing to do with your ability to play the game. You just play long enough and you'll eventually unlock it all. But it won't matter if you get better at the game.

This is a game unworthy of the Xbox. However, the Simpsons tie-in is not too bad. I would suggest renting it for a week and getting your fill of Simpsons laughs. Hence the two stars.

56 this game is phat
beter than crazy taxi this game rules a must have
57 Yet another lousy licensed game
The Simpsons: Road Rage is, at best, a Crazy Taxi wannabe. This is the worst title I've played on the Xbox yet. The Crazy Taxi premise is okay - CT is one of my favorite games - but Road Rage suffers on many levels.

The voice talent, while authentic, is very limited. Characters start repeating phrases within the space of a single run. It's annoying.

The graphics are a cross between bad cel-shading and an intern's first attempt at 3D extrusion. Blech.

The load times before and after each run are insane. I wonder if it's not a result of a "simple" port from one platform to another. This game was clearly not designed to take advantage of the Xbox's memory or graphic capabilities.

Rent it, play it, then get it out of your system - literally and figuratively.

58 This game is a rental (from a huge Simpsons fan)...
Graphics are well done, although you'll never get the level of character detail found on the actual Simpson's cartoon... Gameplay is very straightforward although I was able to get the car "stuck" easily by going off some jumps and flipping over.

However, the game lacks the depth that games SHOULD possess for the XBOX platform... there are only 5 town areas and they are very quickly covered. Replay value is very low. Characters are well done (although they all have the same animation patterns). The voiceovers are the best part of the game in terms of entertainment value for Simpsons fans("Thank you, come again" -Apu)...

59 Tight Work!
This game has awsome graphics and features. I love all of the character voices. If I could rate it over 5 stars, I would. Too bad (another internet retailer)sent it to me for XBOX when I asked for the PS2 version! (mummbling)(...)!!!
60 Addictive game!
This game is good for gamers and Simpson fans. The real character voices are cool and hilarious at the same time. My favorite is Ralph who says what's on his mind even if it has nothing to do with anything else. I picked him up downtown and he said, "Can I go to the airport? I wanna take a suitcase ride!" Another favorite saying of his is, "Fireworks make my ears yell!"
61 More like Xbox own rage
This is a fun game, especially if your are a simpsons fan. There is nothing like driving around the large maps and catching the simpons personality in its full glory. My problem with this game is the glaring slownesss and bugs. For one, each level takes *WAY* to long to load, and often the game crashes during load times. This game has the disturbing "pop up" as well, meaning chracters, objects (such as tree's, cars, poles) just "Popup" out of nowhere, and aren't really rendered into the screen very well. Popup is supposed to be a thing of the past, it is said when you see such lacklaster quality on the nextgen consoles as this happens on the PS2 version as well. Some of the maps have turns and crossovers that are impossible to navigate since the direction hand telling you where to go will just spin around until you finally choose a direction and run for it.

Like other reviewers have said, sometimes the voice overs cross over and becoming confusing, often times you will hear Mr Burns, Yourself and your passenger talking at the same time and it gets a bit cluttered.

I certainly don't think the developer did what they could have done, for this game could have been a #1 seller had they spent more time on it. Due to the bugs, slowdown (yes, even when pilling through traffic it slowwwwwsss down and has popup) i recommend renting or waiting for this game to drop to a more affordable and attractive price of 29 bucks since it definatly isn't worth the 50 it is now. (sorry, but half done games deserve half price!!)

ON the lighter side, this game is fun if you can get around the bugs. I would rent it.

62 ONE OF THE BEST GAMES I HAVE EVER PLAYED
This game is great. It combines Crazy Taxi with Simpsons characters. Then, it throws in missions and bonus challenges. I love this game.
63 Doh
I really wanted to enjoy "The Simpson's: Road Rage" because I am to the point where I pity the "The Simpson's" license in the context of the incredibly competitive video game world. The last string of "Simpson's" games have been nothing but complete, almost unplayable disasters. It's not saying a whole lot when I hear people are raving that "Road Rage is THE best Simpson's game!" Yes, it is the most competent "Simpson's" game undoubtedly but still somehow manages to a sad, highly unoriginal bore.

"Hello. Am I speaking to the legal department of Electronic Arts? Yes, this is the legal team at Sega America and we are just calling to let you know that we are suing you breaking copyright." How that call never happened is beyond me. "Road Rage" rips EVERYTHING from the stellar Sega hit "Crazy Taxi" except the fun! Considering Sega's title is way over a year old so it's very peculiar that "Road Rage" in no way, shape or form decides to build on the "taxi" formula and make it into something of it's own. Yes, "Road Rage" has arguably better graphics (considering the hardware leap from Dreamcast to XBOX, it's nothing to write home about), many more vehicles and arenas, faster gameplay and the occasional hilarity of "The Simpson's" license but the gameplay surprisingly is nowhere as fun, challenging or deep as Sega's "Crazy Taxi."

There are 4 gameplay modes: Road Rage, Sunday Drive, Mission Mode and Head to Head. The premise of "Road Rage" is simple. You choose one of various Simpson's characters, drive around picking up various Simpson's characters and drop them off as quickly as possible while listening to audio excerpts of the characters dialog repeat. Depending on how quickly you delivered your passenger the higher the pay you receive. Sounds mighty familiar hey? This cycle is fun for about an hour then torturous soon after. "Road Rage's" in game clock is incredibly inconsistant and will sometimes give you less then 5 seconds to get your passenger to their destination a few blocks away when you still have a fair amount of time left of total game time or it'll give you 40 seconds to drive one block; it flat out kills the fun. Sunday Drive is exactly what the title implies; driving around town with no time limit or objectives exploring the arena's whatnots. Mission Mode is a pathetic, abundantly unfun exercise in running various objects over within a set amount of time. Head to Head is the only reason to play this game. The 2-player madness can be very entertaining but Head to Head has lame restrictions and doesn't flow as seemlessly (I mean this very loosely) as the 1-Player experience.

Cars or characters - which ever you want to call them - handle one of three ways. There are the fast cars are extremely touchy (Apu's Sports Car), balanced cars that have a satisfactory top speed and handle adequately but sound like they are stuck in second gear (Marge's 4x4 Canonaro) and the slow, borderline useless clunkers (Auto's School Bus). Most people will find themselves sticking to the unforgiving, speed orientated cars because once mastered (which doesn't take a whole lot of time) domination is inevitable.

The arenas range from o.k. to barely playable. "Evergreen Terrace" and the "Entertainment District" are the most balanced levels and the majority of gamers will find themselves playing those two most often. While their premise is novel arenas like "The Springfield Dam" and "Springfield Mountains" are too difficult to navigate due to their immensity and poor level design. "Downtown" suffers from sporadic slowdown and frame-rate dives that create a slightly nauseating experience. Roads in these are too narrow and hitting the side of the course can bring your cars to a complete stop. Not to mention Mr. Burns and his entirely spastic "atomic buses" blocking the road entirely and pushing your car into walls will leave an extremely bitter taste in your mouth.

Graphically "Road Rage" in really nothing to get excited over. The colorful, Simpson'esque atmosphere is suiting but visuals aren't as crisp as one should expect from the XBOX. There is a minor texture blur that reminds me a great deal - to a lesser degree - of the graphical style of the N64 title "South Park."

I am really happy the voice actors from the TV series recorded some new material for the game. I am really annoyed that they recorded so little. Phrases are very funny the first 10 or so times, but by the time the second or third game loads up using the same character you will have had it. Lisa, one of my favorite character on the show has very few things to say and soon becomes unmistakably irritating. Same can be said for the almost the entire cast of characters.

Lastly I have to touch on how unacceptably glitchy "Road Rage" is. I've had cars get stuck on walls, in the middle of the road and occasionally get stuck onto another car. Sometimes I had to quit the game because my car was wedged indefinitely. The collision detection needs a great deal of work. I can't tell you the last time I played a game where if you got enough air time you could fly through background scenery into gray, video game limbo and float there until your time eventually expires. Also the load times, which are nowhere near as horrible as the PS2 version's, are still noticeably bad. Consider how low tech this game appears and how powerful the XBOX is, the time spent at the "Now Loading..." screen is utterly unsatisfactory. "Road Rage" has "rushed" plastered all over it.

Don't waste your hard-earned cash on this uninspired rip-off. I heard Sega will eventually port "Crazy Taxi 2" to the XBOX. I recommend investing in the originator, not settling for a half-baked designer imposter.
64 Crazy Taxi 2
The game is pretty cool you have to unlock all these tracks and players by earning money and by completing missions and it was funny to hear the characters interact. This game looks like a simpsons episode but it plays EXACTLY like Crazy Taxi. If you enjoy mindless entertainmnet and enjoy Crazy Taxi and you need a break every once in a while from Halo than this is the game for you.
65 Game Drawbacks...Read first
If you are wondering whether or not you should buy this game, please read this first.

The concept of this game is a very exciting one! Simpson's game with a Crazy Taxi concept! Right? Wrong!!

1. The catch phrases and character sayings are very repetitive. You would think they would have recorded more phrases. Hearing the characters saying the same phrases over and over again gets old fast.

2. No System Link. While this may not matter to most people, the only way to play this game against someone is through one Xbox console using a split screen.

3. Annoyances: Picking up and dropping passengers off to only see them again seconds later on another part of the map. Could Professor Frink be going crazy with some kind of cloning machine?

4. There is no method to the phrases the characters speak. They just randomly blurt out sometimes completely irrelevant sayings.

5. Delay in voice responses: If you are fast and drop a character off and immediately pick up a new character, you will still hear the old character talking even though they are no longer in the vehicle.

Bottom line... Rent this one because it gets old fast!

66 A must for Simpsons Fans.
As a Simpsons fan, this game is a must. The Editorial provides an excellent review. The graphics are decent, you can tell the game was ported and rushed. It doesn't do the X-box justice. That doesn't matter, because the gameplay is extremely fun and there is huge re-play value. Extremely fast and easy to play. Definately the bet Simpsons game out there (Not saying much if you played all the others :) ).
67 The makings of A simpsons classic
This game has everything in it a simpsons fan could dream of. Although the game has a simpsons theme that doesn't mean you won't enjoy the game if you don't know the simpsons. The game takes the Crazy taxi formula that is so great and makes it better by allowing you to drive more characters up to 30 each with their own lines from the show and every time you pick up someone they respond to who you are. I.E. when your homer and you pick up bart he says "he its the big man" and homer replies with "that's my boy" and every character says 100's of things making this game entertaining and funny. This game is great if you liked crazy taxi get it. If you like the Simpsons get it. This game is hands down the best simpsons game ever made. Also for those of you who have noticed the ps2 and NGC versions of this game this one is the best graphic wise and gameplay wise. Plus no load times during gameplay. BUY THIS GAME
68 Crazy Taxi and the Simpson collide
This game looks like an entertaining blend of Crazy Taxi and The Simpsons. You drive around, picking up various Simpsons characters and dropping them off at their destinations within the time limit similar to crazy taxi. If you want Crazy Taxi with a Simpsons twist, this game is for you.
