1 The premise is false
The reason the crime fell in New York City was only partially due to better policing. Otherwise why did crime also fall in many other places without "Tipping Point Leadership"?

Crime fell because of the increase in abortion. For more information read "Freakonomics."

The problem with tipping point analysis is that it is rarely clear until after the action.
2 Crucial reading for anyone trying to change their workplace
I think anyone who is serious about changing/improving their workplace/business will learn something from Harvard Business Review articles. The authors do an excellent job of using a case-study to show how the 'tipping point' theories (malcolm gladwell) can be used by leaders.

Quote of the Day:

"I love Saturday morning cartoons, what classic humour! This is what

entertainment is all about ... Idiots, explosives and falling anvils."
-- Calvin and Hobbes, Bill Watterson

I have a map of the United States. It's actual size. I spent last summer
folding it. People ask me where I live, and I say, "E6".
