LCD monitors have become popular both for their small profile and their better image quality, compared to traditional CRTs. The Vx710 is a sleek, stylish model that delivers a bright, accurate image and plenty of useful features, such as wall-mount compatibility for convenience and DVI support for higher-end graphics applications.

The Vx710's 1,280 x 1,024 maximum resolution and 0.264 mm dot pitch results in crisp, accurate images, while a 450:1 contrast ratio and 300 cd/m2 of brightness make text and graphics easy to see. The 25 ms video response time means that motion graphics are reproduced at broadcast quality, making this an ideal choice for gaming, watching DVDs, and much more. The Vx710 has 140-degree horizontal and 130-degree vertical viewing angles, while sRGB color management helps you get accurate screen to print colors. You can also easily adjust the monitor's settings with the onscreen display menu.

The AC 100-240V 50-60Hz power supply consumes only 35 watts of power (maximum) and is TCO'99 and Energy Star compliant. Compatible with both PC and Mac operating platforms, the Vx710 comes backed by a generous three-year warranty.

1 it's cool
I bought this monitor 3 weeks ago (a refurbished one), now don't get me wrong, refurbished items have been fixed and tested. Take note, it's tested so you can be sure it's working perfectly (that is sometimes the wrong conception with refurbished items) but still it's your own risk to make but I assure you, you will save a lot of money and this monitor is cheap (regular price) compared with others.

Brand new items go straight into the stores without being tested, so don't get alarmed if you get a defective one, it happens with all brands, I tell you it does there are no perfect items. That is why there is a warranty.

Well going back, I'm satisfied with the performance of VX710, I heard and read a lot of negative things about this monitor but it works fine with me. Most reviews tell you about negative details about the edges, the shadows etc. but come to think of it, I bought this monitor to use it with my softwares, programs, play my games and to edit photos, I did not buy this monitor to study it inch by inch and compare it with others (lol).

The colors are just fine (no dead pixels), I usually get on my printed photos on what I see with my monitor. If you are looking for an LCD that is cheap and would like saving up space and USE IT AS A MONITOR at home or at the office (and not use it as a guinea pig studying it inch by inch or comparing it with other monitors) this one's for you. Well I am not trying to convince you, just wrote this review to express how happy I am to have it.
2 Over 20 dead pixels and no DVI cable
I got a defective unit that had over 20 dead pixels. Took 3 weeks to ship, now I have to wait another 2-3 weeks to get a replacement. This also does not come with a DVI cable. AND not all DVI cables will fit under the lower back panel door. I bought a cable at an online auction website and it doesn't fit so now I have to buy another one.
3 Excellent quality, but perhaps not the best deal around
I went with this 17" LCD over a comparably priced 19" because of its feature set and preceived quality. I was not dissappointed in that regard.

I received the monitor with zero dead or stuck pixels. It is very bright, more than the competition, and has a superb contrast ratio. The viewing angle is average, but sufficient. I did not buy it based on its looks, though it is a sleek and nice looking unit. That just wasn't a concern of mine. It has performed flawlessly thus far, the picture is clear and sharp in its native resolution, no ghosting, the most minimal lighting along screen edge, and, like I said, no dead pixels.

$50 less and it would get 5 stars, given that larger screens are available too close to this price. However, I don't mind paying for the quality, and would purchase it again.

Q:	How many surrealists does it take to change a light bulb?

A: Two, one to hold the giraffe, and the other to fill the bathtub
with brightly colored machine tools.
