The ViewSonic VE710 17" LCDs add a splash of style to your office desktop. Delivering an impressive array of features, these LCDs enhance your productivity while staying within your budget. The ultra-slim 2.2" panel is wall mountable, allowing you to make the most of limited desktop real estate.
Reasonably priced and sleekly designed, the ViewSonic VE-710 is a great choice for both home and workplace applications. Featuring up to 1,280 x 1,024 resolution (for both PC and Mac), a sharp 450:1 contrast ratio, and 300 nits of brightness, images are crisp, clear, and bright enough for viewing under everyday lighting conditions. The VE-710 also features a fast video response time (25 ms typical) to ensure that motion video and action-packed games are smooth and flicker-free.
This active matrix LCD offers wide 140-degree horizontal viewing angle (130 degrees vertical), letting you share and inspect onscreen graphics without having to crowd viewers immediately in front of the monitor. It features a unique 90-degree fold-up base design for easy wall-mounting. The panel by itself is just 2.2 inches thick, so it has a very slim profile no matter where you place it or how you configure it. An anti-glare coating reduces glare and the resulting eye fatigue.
Customizable settings include image adjustments, color controls, and menu language choices; these are accessed through an intuitive onscreen interface. ViewMatch color adjustments let you calibrate your settings to match a number of industry color standards (sRGB, 9300K, 6500Kdefault, 5400K, RGB). OnView controls also include an OSD lock that prevents accidental changes to your settings once you've adjusted them to your liking.
The ViewSonic VE-710 has it's own internal power supply with hard power switch. It comes with a handy installation CD-ROM that automates the installation process and automatically configures settings for optimized performance. It is backed by a three-year warranty on parts and labor.

1 Ideal upgrade
I'd noticed Viewsonic monitors at AV trade shows (I'm in the biz, but the audio end) and I've always been impressed with the sharpness, clarity and colors.
Viewsonics were list-toppers when my 3-year-old Philips 15-incher started to flicker. At this price, I figured I couldn't go wrong. And I didn't. No pixel problems, but apparently everybody has solved that glitch. Color and clarity everything I'd expected. Photo slide shows are a wonder. You do have to turn the brightness and contrast down for text, however. They have both cranked to the max as default. Tone it down a bit and you'll be a happy camper.
2 Flawless.
It has no pixel issues. It warms up quickly. I have only one problem with it, and it's a design choice. When you first start the monitor, unless your resolution is on the highest, it produces a blue box in the center of the screen for about 5 seconds to tell you to increase your resolution. I find that annoying since I can't increase the resolution on my Suse box. Otherwise, it's simply a solid product.
3 Great Monitor
This is a really great monitor. It worked right out of the box, with no problems. I once turned it on and got a bit worried when I saw streaks of blurry columns going down the screen. It turned out that a simple hit on the "auto adjust" button is the cure. I actually have not used the auto adjust since.
It works great at its 1280 x 1024 high resolution setting, if you use it at a lower setting it is not as nice. If the highest setting is a problem because the fonts or icons are too small, just use large icons and increase the font size, it worked for me!
ViewSonic has proven itself as a good monitor building company, we have used tons of them at my workplace without any problem (no, I don't work for them!) They have my full recommendation
