Zalman's CNPS7700-Cu cooler for Intel/AMD Motherboards and CPUs offers a large, high-efficiency fan and pure-copper base material to ensure excellent heat dissipation. It also works with a range of prominent CPUs and motherboards, including Intel Pentium 4 (Socket 775), Intel Pentium 4 (Socket 478), and AMD64 (Socket 754/939/940). When it's set to silent mode, the cooler generates no noise or vibrations.
The large, 120 mm fan inside the cooler's FHS maximizes cooling performance by providing sufficient airflow over a large area, cooling not only the CPU, but the VGA card, Northbridge, FET, and RAM--even at slow rotation speeds. The supplied adjustable fan speed controller (Fan Mate 2) lets you control fan noise as well as performance.
The maximum weight for a cooler (fan) is specified as 450g (.99 pounds) for Intel Socket 775/478 and AMD Socket 754/939/940. Special care should be taken when moving a computer equipped with a cooler that exceeds the relevant weight limit (the CNPS7700 weighs 918g). Zalman Tech is not responsible for any damage that occurs when moving a computer.
What's in the Box
Fan, heat sink assembly, 4 grips (2 each for S-type and L-type), 4 bolts, thermal grease, fan speed controller (Fan Mate 2), double-sided tape (for installing Fan Mate 2), cable for Fan Mate 2, a user's manual (in English and Korean), 1 clip support for Socket 775, 1 backplate for Socket 775, 4 clip-support fixing bolts, 2 clip supports for Socket 478, 2 nipples, 1 backplate for AMD64, and 1 set of washers.
Note: No motherboard components with a height greater than 39mm (1.53-inch), as well as the PSU, disk drives, VGA card, and RAM should be present within a 68mm (2.68 inch) radius from the center of the CPU.

The large 120mm fan inside the FHS maximizes cooling performance by providing sufficient airflow even at slow rotation speeds. 5. The large 120mm fan provides air flow over a large area cooling not only the CPU but the VGA card Northbridge FET and RAM. 6. The adjustable fan speed controller (FAN MATE 2) enables control of noise and fan performance.
1 Quiet and nice
Runs a bit cooler than the stock p4 cooler, but it is easily 1/4 as loud. Great product!
2 This thing is big!
This was my first CPU heat sink/fan purchase and I have been very pleased! I've been interested in overclocking my P4 2.8GHz processor for quite a while now and my research uncovered this product. The pictures don't do it justice....it is really, really large!
It weighs just over 2 lbs. and has a radius and height of nearly 7 cm, but it's one of the coolest looking units out there, especially the all copper version.
Installation only took about an hour, including removing the old heat sink, cleaning the old thermal paste off of the processor, installing this one, and mounting the fan-speed controller. I have a socket 478 mother board, so the whole process was very easy since you can work with the existing mounting brackets. The only tricky part was getting the screws into the mounting brackets but I don't mind challenges. Also, make sure you pick up some Arctic Silver 5 thermal grease as this is some of the best stuff out there.
What most impressed me was the immediate performance increase and reduction of sound. My stock Intel cooler was very loud, but even amidst all my case fans, I could tell it was quieter. Before, my processor temperatures were about 29-30 *C in idle and 45-50 *C under full load. Now it idles at 25-27 *C and doesn't even break 40 *C at full load. I was very impressed by the nearly 10 *C drop under full load! I hear that Arctic Silver 5 runs more efficiently with 1-2 weeks of "break-in" time, so it may even improve still.
Overall, it looks great, runs quiet, performs well, and installs easily. I would highly recommend this unit to all potential overclockers.
