1 A nice little usb drive to own - awesome mobile data storage
I worried about purchasing a Zoom Drive because I had never heard of them until I searched amazon. When I received the package a few days later I was even more worried. It came with a power adapter and a special usb cord with 2 usb connectors to get extra power from a pc without using the power adapter. I thought I just bought a piece of junk because I didn't remember these items being listed in the item description. So I tried the zoom drive with only a standard usb cable and no power adapter. It worked AWESOME. I backed up my entire 40 gig hard drive to this gigantic 80 gig usb drive. The I copied another 12 gig of files to it. No problems. It was extremely fast for a usb device. (I connected to a usb 2.whatever port).
The extra power accessories will come in handy on my dumpy old compaq running windows 98. It seems like every usb device fails to work on it because of power supply problems. So the cool double usb cord and the power adapter turned out to be a plus.
I recommend this product to anybody who wants a handy little memory device that holds a HUGE AMOUNT OF DATA.
Why only 4 stars? Well, it's not ugly but it's not beautiful either. It does fit in my pocket but it's a bit of a tight fit. Their Instructions would earn a c+ in my old high school English class. I also checked out their website. It's ok but not too impressive. I guess they are a small company with a cool idea and cool technology. I hope they grow enough to zing out some really mind-blowing products.
So I love it. It's the best solution I found for easy portable file storage. Cosmetics were the only downside. I can't wait to see what this company does next.
